Petra Stone is hands down one of my favorite slab showrooms. I work on high-end residential projects in Los Angeles, and I'm always impressed by the quality and variety of stone they carry. Petra Stone is the place to go only if you're comfortable losing 30% of your money if you change your mind even if you never took possession of the stone, it was never fabricated, and it never left their warehouse. I purchased three slabs of marble for my kitchen, and after speaking with two independent fabricators, I learned that I would have to sign a release of liability for installation. Both fabricators explained that marble is extremely porous and prone to chipping and cracking, and they both advised that marble should never be used for a kitchen countertop. Anything acidic : lemon juice, vinegar, soda can dull and etch marble even when it has been sealed. Wine, citrus, tomato sauce, coffee, and oils can all leave stains or dark spots. If you don't use any of these in your kitchen, you might be safe; but if you do, they will leave a lasting impression. When I explained this to the owner and requested a full refund despite the slabs never being moved or fabricated, he refused. I even offered to pay $1,500 to be reasonable, but that was also declined. If that is the kind of business you want to deal with Petra Stone is the place for you. read more

Visited Petra Stone to check out the variety and options and was literally blown away. I've visited stone places before but this place is another level...seriously. A complete WOW just walking into the showroom! Stone slabs I never knew existed. I was able to take a tour with Livia & Marcelo and could not get over how many beautiful slabs they offered! But what makes me so impressed, is the customer service. Talk about down to earth, genuinely lovely people! I never got pressured. Awful experience. We are building a home and looking for several large slabs of stone for back splashes and counter tops. The staff was extremely rude and off putting. Like it was an inconvenience for us to be there. We've purchased stone from them before so we were confused as to why we were so unwelcomed. We found a slab we really liked and took a picture to hold up against our counters at home to see if it would work and a lady immediately came around the corner and told us we weren't allowed to take pictures. Luckily we had been to Bedrosian's slab yard just before. They were much friendlier and had amazing slabs. We'll be ordering from Bedrosian after that experience. read more

First of all, Petra Stone's showroom and inventory is absolutely amazing! They have every type of stone you can imagine and their selection is top quality. Additionally, you can not find nicer people to work with. Marcelo and his wife and their team are so helpful and provide the best customer service. After searching just about every slab yard in San Diego we ended up at Petra Stone and found exactly what we were looking for. The first set of slabs ended up having some imperfections so Marcelo worked with his supplier in Italy and sent me photos of several back up options and once they came in he held them for me come back and select the final set. Due to COVID, the shipment was held up in customs longer than expected and Marcelo consistently kept me up updated on their status. Once we made our final selection, he also held them for me for almost months as our project was hit with many other delays. I highly recommend Petra Stone and they will be my first and only stop for my next project. read more

Petra Stone is not your typical slab yard. After visiting many outdoor slab yards on Miramar Rd, I was referred to this place through a designer. This place is quintessential,high-end, drool- worthy stone shopping. It's fun to go in and look at the amazing illuminated stonework done for display. Check out the bathrooms and kitchen. Having to replace our countertops was daunting, but Marcelo was such a pleasure to work with. He is really easy to talk to, very patient and guided me through the pros and cons of each product I was interested in. There's a lot to choose from and it's all done indoors in a very nice slab room (with a crane overhead in case you need to move a slab :). A wide range of product ranging from beautiful budget friendly stuff to expensive luxury pieces that are just fun to look at. Marcelo is awesome. Would highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the market for stone and don't know where to start... this is the place. read more
