While we were in Europe we saw a beautiful porcelain tile, Dual White, which was made in Spain. It was exactly the tile we were looking for in our Northern CA home bathroom remodel. We learned this tile was only available through Marmol Exports US in San Diego. We contacted Sandra Niz at Marmol about the tile, and she was tremendously helpful throughout the process, from sending large sample pieces to expediting the purchase and shipping of the tiles. We purchased 9 pieces of Marron Imperial Polished Marble 12x24 pieces (twice more that we needed) The tile setter was cutting the 12x24 into 4" strips for a border, the marble literally crumble as he was cutting it, we needed 4 pieces we ended up using 8 pieces to get the ones that it didn't disintegrated. we placed all the crumbled pieced in a box and returned it, We spoke to Sandra of the situation, She informed us that we can't return the bad marble, She also informed us she can't give us a refund or credit. Sandra was the one we purchased the product from a couple of weeks ago. I can understand now and then you get a bad piece but 4 out of 9? Not happy with the customer service, We just stared a big project and in need for a large amount of tile, We won't be going back to Marmol Export neither will the tile setter. So disappointing. For $87.00 credit or refund to lose thousands of dollars worth of tile we need for our next project just doesn't make much business sense to me, Maybe they don't need the business. read more

After going to 20+ stone yards in search of slabs for my remodel, I purchased some at Marmol. They have a very large selection of some beautiful pieces. I found the staff to be very helpful and attentive. I worked with sales representative, Linda Sais, who was excellent! Her enthusiasm is contagious and inspiring, believe me, I needed a shot of her inspiration at this point in my search. I was well taken care of by Linda. Side note, Marmol Export USA is a bit of a challenge to find. They are set in the far back of a commercial shopping strip off of Miramar Road. My GPS said they are located on Keenan Street. I passed Keenan Street twice, never saw a street sign. It looks more like a driveway into the commercial shopping strip vs a actual street. It may be hard to find, but it's well worth the effort! read more

He took specific measurements to ensure my kitchen and bathroom counter-tops would all fit in the amount of slabs I needed. Further, taking in consideration edge profiling as well. I noticed some people at other businesses are not skilled at measuring. i.e. Amazon Stone. Seriously though, looking at huge slabs of granite at places like Marmol Export is pretty awesome. At first you think all the granite looks amazing and then suddenly you become really picky. ("I must have a granite that isn't too light or dark, doesn't have too small a pattern, and tells a story.") I sound insane. Marmol Export is all indoors (unlike Amazon Stones) and has a showroom with pretty trim pieces so you envision the kitchen or entry tile of your dreams. The big slabs of granite are in back. After looking for countertops and full backsplash material from LA to Orange County to San Diego I found the marble and quartz materials that complimented each other beautifully at Marmol. Juan Carlos took care of me with extraordinary customer service. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient as I took many visits to the indoor showroom. As I was looking for a unique design in the marble cut, we were unsure of the number of slabs until the cutter laid out the pattern. Wouldn't know, as both times (yes, twice) I went onsite to look at samples no one offered to assist me, and the "receptionist" was gone. Did I mention there was NO ONE ELSE IN THE STORE the 2nd time? Read Yelp reviews expo facto, and agree, their customer service is abysmal. Two staff literally walked around me on their way to lunch at 1:15PM, rather than extended basic courtesy. Another staff saw what is going on, and went to hide in his office. Hello? Sexist much? Why am I chasing you? I am a cash paying customer, and potential repeat business. The previous poster must've worked with Eduardo R @ Marmol in San Diego. We pre-paid for the slab on a Sat and Eduardo said the slab would be delivered to Anaheim for pick up on Tuesday. Needless to say, it's now Thursday and everyday Eduardo has told me (1) the slab will go to Anaheim tomorrow and (2) he will call me with to confirm. He's kept neither promise. When I called today to see if the slab was going to be delivered today, he transferred me to his assistant for her to tell me that it did not go on the truck today. I asked for a full refund and the assistant told me that they will ensure it is delivered to Anaheim tomorrow. Every day, I have to tell my fabricator to delay the job which is really frustrating for them as well. Eduardo R and Marmol San Diego have been very unprofessional and dishonest in this purchase. I regret giving them my business as they do not respect their clients or keep their word. Oh and when I called the Anaheim location on Tuesday, they told me that the San Diego location didn't send the truck because there were not enough orders to fill the truck. Eduardo told me the same day that the truck had broken down and that's why it was not sent to Anaheim. So that's an indication of how honest the San Diego location is. If you need a honest sales person, go to Anaheim or go to another company in San Diego. I've been a customer of the Anaheim location for over a year and purchased stone for two houses through them and the service was always EXCELLENT which is why I went all the way to San Diego to the other store. From now on I will only deal with the Anaheim location- more professional. read more

we came here to purchase over 10 slabs, but 4 slabs were backordered. We didn't have a problem with the slabs that were onsite, but once the backordered slabs arrived and we were called back to approve the slabs we were told the price of to slabs increased over 40% per sqft!!! Sounds like a bait and switch to me. We wasted over a month waiting for the backordered slabs which could have easily been acquired from another vendor. I would gladly pay more else where for better and more honest service. AVOID this place, they are NOT HONEST read more

We bought the stone for 2 kitchens from them and Frank helped us thru the process of fabricating too, because we needed to export it to French Polynesia. These guys came recommended by the contractor who was remodeling our fire place. The selection was great and the price was reasonable. Those are the only two redeeming qualities they possess. We have yet to receive the tile we wanted. They have broken their promise 3 times. They keep telling us it will be here today. Finally the guy says he will personally deliver to our house today. Even if he pulls through, I don't want to keep going through this every time we need tile. The only thing they have done was apologize profusely. That may work for some people but this is really bad customer service. We need to get tile for our bathrooms next. We will use a different tile place next time. read more

Good selection, but don't expect service after the sale. I bought granite slabs and a travertine stone kitchen sink from Marmol. The salesman said that they would seal the travertine when the sink arrived from being fabricated in Mexico. My contractor installed the sink. When I started using it, I found that water seeped right through the stone in one place, dripping into the wood cabinet below. I called the salesman and he said No, we never seal the stone. So I went over to Marmol and paid $65 for a sealer. I applied it once, I applied it twice, I applied it a third time, and while the seepage was reduced considerably, some water still seeped through. This is when my dissatisfaction grew. I contacted the salesman (by email) and told him that the sealer I bought was not adequate for the problem. A week passed and I didn't receive a reply, so I emailed him again. He ignored me. So I emailed and threatened further action. Then he phoned and asked me to email photos of the problem, which I did. Another full week passed without a response from him. So I contacted him again. He asked which day would be good for him to come by and see the problem for himself. I wrote that Fridays are good and told him I could be flexible with the time to suit his convenience. Another week has passed and I haven't heard from him. Sure, everybody likes to close a sale, but once Marmol gets your money, they'd rather never hear from you again. read more

My sister and I went up and down Miramar looking for a slab for her bathroom. We went to Marmol last - and found quite a few slabs (limestones) that are the perfect color/pattern that we didn't see elsewhere. Great selections, and a nice showroom. Why the one star? After selecting a few that we'd like to price out, we went to the front desk, who paged a sales person. We got the worst sales person ever! He lazily sauntered into the entry, hardly said a word to us as I explained what we needed. He followed us to the slab yard, and we pointed out the first limestone. He said "I'll be right back". Left, and came back with a list in hand. Told us the price per square foot. We then moved to the next slab, and asked again. We priced out 4 slabs - and each time he followed far behind - not saying a word except the square foot price. On the last slab, he actually left us, went to the other side of the warehouse, and start rummaging around and picked up a sign to tack on a crate - while I was calling him for help (he just moved his head slightly to acknowledge my calling). After this slab, he plainly disappeared. Clearly not interested in selling anything - or maybe not even interested in working as a sales person. I could have been a better sales person, and I consider myself not the "sales-y type". At least, I would've shown 1000x more interest in my customers. We decided to get one slab, so we had to go back to the front desk and ask for him (unfortunately... We really should've asked for another sales person). We told the front desk that we didn't know who he was, because he never introduced himself to us. So at last he was paged, and again sauntered lazily in. We told him we wanted to purchase a slab, and he just started walking to an office - didn't invite us to follow, or really - didn't say a word. My sister had to ask if she was supposed to follow, or what. She started doing the paperwork, and he left the office "to do (or to get) the paperwork" - but I saw him at the front entry, talking to the receptionist, then just staring out the door. For a while... While my sister was sitting there in his office, waiting to sign the paperwork. Needless to say - not sure why he's even working as a sales person, he definitely has no skills: sales or interpersonal. If we ever need to get something from Marmol again, we will make sure to ask for someone else. read more

Wife and I stopped by Marmol Export yesterday for a single piece of slate for a tabletop. This was a very, very small purchase for a stone and tile business. Tom Castillo took care of us as if we were redoing the entire home. He was polite, gave us his full attention, and treated us as if we were important to him. His terrific customer service for our tiny project will make Marmol Export our first stop for the future when we decide our kitchen and baths need a real makeover. I purchased 1550 ft of travertine from Tom . The color was really good, lighter than what other shops had. I went to their warehouse in Anaheim and selected the material myself. I did have an issue with one of the crates, but Tom quickly resolved the matter to my satisfaction. I have a beautiful travertine floor now. read more

Never coming back here again! And I advise anyone reading this review to do the same. I was remodeling my house and I went to Marmol Export for tiles; at the time of purchase Jill and Sandra treated me like a king, (like all sellers do) at the time of purchase, I asked if the tiles could be returned if any were left over after I was done remodeling, and I was told "Yes but there will be a restocking fee." I completely understand that, many different types of stores have a restocking fee. So of course, I finished remodeling and was left with tiles! I went to Marmol Export today, expecting to return the left over tile and receive the difference in payment back. BUT NO, THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED. I was told that I can't return the extra tile because it was a special order, and that there was nothing they can do. After explaining the situation, I was told to leave. What kind of customer service is that? Why would the main employees there reassure me of the return policy and completely change it when a return needs to be made? Never coming back again. read more
