We live in Kingston and boy I get a taste for breakfast or going out I only hit two spots the iron skillets a lot further but boy we get a table full and the service is amazing. Our favorite unapologetically is Sarah, she remembers all our orders without writing them down, she's spot on with our half tea half lemonade or coffee. Smiling and just make my wife and I feel like were appreciated. Heck we even came on Valentines day we like it so much I have so many photos on here but here are the latest two. Well saddle me up and call me delirious, this Petro in Knoxville is the greatest oasis of asphalt and unleaded a weary cowboy could ever hope to ride into. First off -- the employees are happier than a colt in a clover field. Every one of 'em was grinning like they just won a year's supply of sweet tea. I walked in half-asleep and walked out feeling like I'd been personally blessed by the truck-stop angels. Now let's talk gas prices... CHEAP. I'm talkin' so cheap I had to wipe my eyes and make sure I wasn't hallucinating from road dust and heartbreak. Filled my tank without filling out a loan application -- a rare treat these days, Cowboy. But here's where Petro pulled a fast one on me... THE PUMP HANDLES ARE GREEN. GREEN. Like diesel green. You ever see a grown cowboy almost dive-roll across the parking lot because he thinks he's about to ruin his gas-burner? That was me. I grabbed that handle and my heart dropped faster than a calf at branding time. Thought I was about to commit mechanical war crimes. Turns out it's regular ol' gas -- Petro just likes to keep you alert, I guess. Nothing like a little existential crisis at Pump #7 to make a man feel alive. But once my pulse settled, I tipped my hat, topped off the tank, and rode out into the Tennessee sunrise feeling like a million bucks. Would recommend? Absolutely. I like stopping here to park if I need a break when I'm coming through Knoxville. People complain it's mostly blindside backing, but if it's during the day, it's empty enough it doesn't matter. Inside the main Petro is a CB shop, knife shop, store, game room, driver's lounge, showers, and restaurant. They also have food at the small store next to the diesel fuel pumps. The Iron Skillet here is open. It's not 24/7 anymore. I think they close now around 8pm or 9pm now. We ate there recently. The food and service were very good. read more

We broke our normal fast food habit and had a fabulous late breakfast at Petros. The food was perfectly cooked, the fruit was unbelievably fresh and the biscuits were perfect. This is a full service travel center and truck stop. I think this is the largest and most populous truck stop at exit 369 out of the 3 that you can choose from at this exit. There's a gigantic parking lot for 18 wheelers. It's usually almost full at night. There's even a big restaurant in here called The Iron Skillet. They have a buffet you can choose from or you can just get something from the menu. Of course, they have lots of CBs and CB equipment for sale in here. Lots of CB accessories too. I also saw some GPS devices for sale. I saw some really nice high quality CB antennas. So, if you are looking to upgrade your CB antenna to get out further performance, then this is the place to check out. I also saw some truck accessories for sale in here. read more

Nice stop for fuel, be sure to visit the little building where the truckers get fuel as they make sandwiches, meatloaf, goulash, maccaroni and cheese, chicken strips, pork chops. They have a flat top griddle and can cook eggs as well and also have breakfast sandwiches if your in a hurry and want something to grab and go. You can always ask them to make it fresh for you and they will. Their soups are good too. The restaurant in this fuel stop has a descent salad bar. Good breakfast. Descent priced. First off the waitresses at the iron skillet are what most truck stops lack now days fun but respectfull. And pay attention to The small details that I expect The buffet was clean and full my drink was never empty. Always a smile It was a nice change for once. (waitresses) Betty and Edie you two are awsome..The showers were very nice a little on the small side but the water pressure made up for it. It still has a cb shop it wasn't open but it is a Holliday so can't complain. But would have bought stuff if it was. Rest of the place was clean tons of parking. A fenced Dog run which could be bigger but a nice thought, and other odds and ends even horse shoes and bean bag toss lol we don't see this everyday as tuck drivers and will be back.... read more

For a truck stop that is owned by the Marriott company I kind of expected a little bit more from the large Petro located off exit 369 in Knoxville Tennessee I did enjoy the fact that it had a very large parking lot which made finding a spot late in the evening easy to find, the showers are very cramped, you could have more room in a coffin. The following morning, walked into the iron skillet restaurant and decided to have breakfast. The bump a was far weaker than most iron skillets, the powdered eggs were normal no bacon on the buffet blend sausage the waitress was very polite and very punctual when asked for 3 eggs and toast. For the price of the buffet was not a bad meal. 3 out of 5 stars for this location only because of the size of the showers, and a non working air conditioning unit which made doing laundry almost unbearable but what do you expect from a truck stop read more

I am trucker. The first thing I see when I go to any truck stop is appearance. Of course the restaurant has to be very clean. Second thing is there showers has to be clean . This Petro is very clean and neat. Fuel is little bit expensive that other truck stops but it's worth stopping. read more

I dont know where the other travelrs stopped but I found this Petro to be the cleanest truck stop I have ever been in. Fresh flowers in the bathrooms, clean restrooms, friendly Team members, and GREAT food! I had the lunch buffett and it was awesome, not just bulk but flavorable food. Fried chicken that was not greasy, beef stew, awesome soups and a killer salad bar! The only item that was sub par was the yellow cake with chocolate frosting... it was kinda dry. But hey I don't need that cake if you know what I mean... Seems like they might have had a change and management, but the current GM (Stacy McCarty) has this place running on high!
