Great place to stop for all your road trip needs. There are showers, massage chairs, clean bathrooms, food, gas, and convenience items. Most importantly, there are friendly faces! Petro rocks. I just don't care who you are. As for all the negative reviews on this location I just don't get it. This is one awesome sauce kind of place, with a huge parking lot, plenty of pumps and clean restrooms. There is more kitschy 'crap you need' on the inside than you can shake a stick at and you can take your time browsing their inventory of things you just know you can't live without as you stretch your legs and catch a break from the road. While we were there they were also power washing the concrete in front of the pumps, which is really appreciated. Nothing like a clean station! read more

DO NOT GAS UP HERE! (I would've preferred NO STARS, but I wouldn't have been able to post this review.) I drive a Cherokee Jeep that runs beautifully. Spent the day w my family n drove up to Dallas from SA. Got 29-31 mpg the whole way up. Stopped at this place n partially filled up on our way back to SA. Within 10 mi of the Petro my car started knocking. We were lucky to coast into a Gulf about 12 mi from the Petro. My car turned off n could not restart. I have NEVER had a problem like this in the past. They sold me BAD gasoline! My only consolation is that I did NOT fill up. Damage would've been much worse. We had to call AAA. read more

I'm not ashamed to say that I watched the reality show about the mega-gas-truck-stop in Missouri fervently. This place is sorta... well... not really like that. But! Notice the tag of laundry, diner, and yes it does have an incredibly stale Dunkin Donuts inside as well. Yup, you can shower (I think by the minute?), do yo laundry, and eat at the Iron Skillet, and then if you're a lady... you may be hit on by one or two of the truckers - this can either be a bonus for your self esteem or an annoyance. Towels weren't the kind that u smell and can tell it was used for cleaning at some point in its lifespan. The water is good water too The iron skillet is big with a dining room theb a buffet area! The buffet had the usual we see at all iron skillets except it was cooked perfect! They didn't brine the crap out of the chicken and the potatoes tasted like potatoes!! The salad bar was fresh and very clean. The staff was really nice and anticipated everything you might need or want. The pinto beans were the best I've had in a long time!!! Def gonna come back! the cook, wait staff, shower attendant and lot staff really make this place amazing!!!!!!! Never stopped at a PETRO while traveling before and I'm impressed with this PETRO Travel Store. Very nice inside, the lighting is a little more dim than the typical store (which i appreciated), there are ceiling fans up, the smell of coffee is everywhere because of the Dunkin Donuts inside, and clean bathrooms (the most important thing, right?). I like the way they cater to the truckers with a drivers' lounge, laundry, showers, and again the women's bathroom was clean so I'm thinking they probably kept the men's bathroom pretty clean also. Only improvements I would suggest would be toilet seat covers, and automatic faucets. And although the coffee smells good while you're inside, they have the "Starbucks effect" where you walk out smelling like burnt coffee. :-( I would stop again if one were on my way. Not my experience but this happened to my parents. My dad is a truck driver and when he leaves to drop cargos my mom accompanies him. Earlier tonight about half a hour ago they said they stopped by this gas station so my dad can buy a few beers and some chips for my mom. The counter lady (they don't remember her name) said she needed an ID which my dad provided as my mom doesn't drink at all and wasn't going to get any liquor. She then proceeded to say they BOTH needed their ID's in which my mom explained those aren't for her only my dad and she left her ID on their trailer. She then said because they were both together they both needed to provide an ID. So my parents left to get my moms ID, when they came back it was at most a couple of minutes after 12 bc my mom told me this story around 12:05 when they were leaving the gas station. Then once my parents got back to the store she told them they could no longer buy the beer because they cannot sell alcohol after 12. Which she did not mention to them before they left for the ID. Very uncalled for as my parents are never ones to cause a scene or be rude. I understand she's following the rules of her job but she could've mentioned the No sale after 12 instead of waiting for them to come back. read more

We made the stop on our way from Dallas to San Antonio and let's just say, wanted to utilize their "facilities." Restrooms were decent enough but the Dunkin Donuts should not be on your must try list. They are obviously shipped in and are stale as hell. People are friendly but know that there is no such thing as expedited service and even though we were 1 of 3 people in the store, still waited 15 minutes to get a couple of donuts and a drink. The store portion and restaurant are fine, friendly staff, it's the shop that could use some work! Still sitting here going on twelve hours since we checked in for just an abs light! Horrible customer service! The boy that was working last night was extremely rude. I wish I could remember his name because the company definitely needs to be made aware of how he treats their customers. I also have never heard of a gas station that requires to know what vehicle you came in if you are purchasing alcohol.. how weird is that?!? Is this some new thing I haven't heard of?! Does it matter what kind of car I drive in order for y'all to sell me alcohol?! Needless to say, I will never ever be going back there and don't recommend this place to anyone! read more

Twice in 3 months they have fired all of their front end help. what is going on at that place? How can you get decent customer service if there is no one there. It was a great place to stop and visit. The iron skillet has minimal help, front end has minimal help, how can a place survive if their upper management has their head in some place that does not see sun shine? This is an awesome location, trucks fill every spot available and on all the service roads every night. How does this place NOT MAKE MONEY? Bad upper management is all I can say. read more
