    My sweetest little girl Lola
    Kelly J.

These people made all the difference on one of the saddest days of my life. After making the horrible decision to let our almost 16 year old little girl cross over the rainbow bridge, a friend recommended their services after having experienced letting his kitty cross over. Both vets were so caring and supportive. They explained everything with the process, the effect it would have and treated my baby with the most loving care. I was an absolute emotional wreck and they were so kind and patient with me and my husband. They also helped make sure our other dog was present in a way to make her understand her sissy was gone. I can't recommend at home euthanasia and these wonderful folks highly enough. They help make those last heartbreaking minutes a dignified and peaceful send off.

Our beloved Katsu. Thank you Gemcore for giving him a peaceful transition. We love you Katsu!!!

We love you always Kiba. Feb 2007 to August 2025

I called Gemcore multiple times that I annoyed myself. I canceled Kiba's home euthanasia because I thought he was good and we could manage his issues. But then he started to decline. Our 18 and a half year old companion and little love of our lives, was losing steam. I thought I could push the appt out and stretch out my time with our senior yorkie but as the days passed, everything became more difficult for him so I called and rescheduled and rescheduled. They were always pleasant and accommodating. They never gave me a hard time. Finally, Dr Gonzalez came over and helped our Kiba transition. She was caring, respectful, kind and walked us through the entire process. Our Kiba passed peacefully in the arms of my husband and with a very heart broken mama by his side. For a very difficult decision to make and in a time of grief, I am so thankful I chose Gemcore and Dr Gonzalez. I definitely recommend this compassionate veterinarian who offers a wonderful way to say goodbye. We have loved Kiba for over 18 years and this was a fitting way to let him rest. I ugly cry every 5 minutes but I know he's on to his biggest adventure of all.

This review is long overdue. Our beloved corgi with DM was getting to the end of her life. Since a pup she absolutely hated going to the vet. We decided that when the day would come we would let her pass at home in our arms surrounded by all the thing she loved. It was the least we could do for our baby girl. Well that day came quick and her health declined rapidly. I came on to Yelp and saw the reviews and was sold. I cannot stress enough how compassionate, gentle and professional the Dr was. Our darling Penny passed in our presence and in her home with dignity and love. I've since then any chance I get I recommend Gemcore. Thank you so much for helping our suffering girl make that transition. We are forever grateful.

Despite arriving about an hour and a half later than our scheduled time, Gemcore Veterinary Services still provided truly great service during one of the hardest moments of our lives. Dr. Gonzalez was incredibly professional, patient, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. She took the time to explain every step of the euthanasia and made sure we felt supported and understood. Her calm presence brought us comfort during an emotionally overwhelming experience. Most importantly, my doggie crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully and with dignity. For that, I will always be grateful.

How we will always remember our sweet boy Riggins.
    Houston G.

We had to make the incredibly difficult decision to let our sweet boy go. Dr. Gonzalez was very respectful and empathetic and walked us through the process from beginning to end. At no point did we feel rushed or unsure of what was happening. Our boy, Riggins, experienced no stress or fear and was given the peaceful transition he deserved. We can't thank Dr. Gonzalez and Gemcore enough for making an unimaginably difficult and sad process as smooth as it possibly could be.

    Sweet Dover

It was time to put our sweet Dover (15) down but she hated car rides and the vet. I was able to book online with Gemcore and had my pick of days and time. Very convenient. When they arrived my sweet Dover was calm and zero anxiety. The process was fast and they took such gentle care of our girl. The only hard part was waiting for them to arrive and knowing our time with Dover was at an end. We got our sweet girl back a week later. What a blessing it was for her to pass so peacefully. Thank you.

Had to say see you later to our family dog who I adopted back in 2012. He was dealing with multiple ailments, the last of which was vestibular disease which caused severely weakened back legs. It was painful seeing him go through this. Dr. Gonzalez was compassionate, heartfelt and kind when she arrived, understanding that it is never an easy decision to let your pet go. She was amazing throughout the entire process and they treated my dog with respect. She was even kind enough to drive out of her usual region that she visits. Highly recommend her for anyone looking. Love you my sweet boy, I'll see you again.

Ariel was God sent to me. The way Ariel memorialized my little sassy girl Cutie was more than I could ever imagined! Ariel engraved all four of her paw prints in a heart shaped terracotta stone along with her tail which gave it that extra special unique touch. The ability to feel her feet and hands by tracing my fingers along each anatomical groove brings a smile to my face. Cutie would often times take her front paw and wrap it around my finger and now I can replicate that feeling over and over thanks to you Ariel. Ariel inked my Cutie's paws, nose and whiskers too! When I saw the prints it brought me back to when I use to touch her nose and she would look at me and I could just feel her smiling at me with her eyes. Ariel made me a special ink design with Cutie's tail curved forming a half heart with her back paw in the middle. I don't have tattoos but if I were to ever get one this would be perfect! Ariel created so many personal touches for Cutie's send off to heaven that she had me crying tears of joy. Saying goodbye to Ace was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do, and you and Sunnie made it as peaceful and loving as it could possibly be. The way you cared for him--and for all of us--meant more than I can put into words. You took the time to talk with us and our kids. You explained everything in a way that made sense and bought calm. You made our children feel safe and supported no matter what they were feeling. That meant everything to us. You gave us space and time to say goodbye to our good boy in a way that was meaningful and kind. And the little touches... the blanket under his head, the pets and love you gave, the fur you kept and boxed for our children, the invitation for our kids to write a letter that will be with him forever, the calm and warmth you created--it didn't feel clinical, it felt like family. You gave us a moment we'll always be grateful for in the middle of so much heartbreak. Thank you for the love, compassion, and dignity you gave Ace and our whole family today. They were incredibly kind, respectful, and compassionate, making sure Kaid was as comfortable as possible the entire time. They surrounded him with the love he deserved and gave us so much support and comfort too. They thought of everything. When his paws got muddy, they had wet wipes ready. They brought treats and even a blanket to gently rest his head. We also had our other dog there, and they didn't overlook him either. They gave him love and attention so we could focus on saying our final goodbyes. After Kaid passed, they continued to treat him with such gentleness and care. I am so incredibly grateful to Peaceful Pet Services for giving our boy such a loving and peaceful send-off. We had the pleasure of Dr. Susan Chao come out to our home on Friday, March 20. We had a 9 am appointment (the first one of the day) and she arrived a little before. She had called me about 15 minutes prior to let me know that she would be arriving within 15 minutes. When she arrived, my husband and I greeted her and had her walk to our backyard, as this was the place I had wanted for our little girl because she loved being in the backyard to sunbathe. Dr. Chao was wonderful at guiding us through the process, explaining every step of the way and allowing us to take our time to say goodbye to Muffin. She also allowed us to give Muffin treats during the process (Muffin's last meal was a chicken nugget from Burger King and pureed chicken that Dr. Chao brought, which Muffin really did enjoy eating). Dr. Chao also did cut a piece of Muffin's fur for us to keep and placed it in a small plastic box, which she put in a small mesh bag and gave it to us as a keepsake. Muffin passed away on March 20, 9:31 am. Dr. Chao gave us some time to spend with Muffin right after and just walked towards the side of the house so that we could have privacy. Afterwards, she placed Muffin in a basket and then we walked with her towards the front of the home so that she could take Muffin with her to eventually be cremated. About two weeks later, I contacted Hearts and Halos to ask if Muffin's ashes were ready for us to pick up (please note that the company can also mail your pet's ashes to you, but we just preferred to pick it up in person). I had a hard time getting ahold of them via telephone, so I emailed the company and was able to arrange for a pickup time. I was told via email that someone was supposed to contact us that day that I had emailed them about Muffin's ashes though... This past Thursday, my husband and I went to Gardena to pick up Muffin's ashes (please note that Hearts and Halos office is now in transition to moving to Hungtinton Beach). When we arrived, an employee came out and gave us a small gift bag, that held her ashes, seeds to plant in her memory and also a small brochure regarding aftercare and additional resources for the grieving process. I do like the box that her ashes came in and also I love the small wooden heart with her name engraved on it and a small halo right above her name. The total cost for these services is $840 (you can pay via check, cash or credit card). You can also have additional items, such as an urn (which cost $60) or your pet's paw print, that will cost extra. If you do not wish to have your pet's ashes back, the cost would go down to $675, in which your pet will be part of a communal process to preserve their ashes and then will be scattered in the company's memory garden. Just as a price comparison, when we had to put down our other 2 dogs at the vet (both of our other dogs were of an emergent case and so we would not have been able to plan for their euthanasian earlier and so we would not have been able to utilize these home euthanasia services even if we had known about them at the time), at minimum, it would have cost $455 if we had made an appointment and had this service done during the day. However, both times we had to rush our dogs to the vet were during after hours and without an appointment, so the cost was around $560, which also did include their ashes. So, these home pet euthanasia services can cost an additional $100- $300 more but we felt it was worth the cost. We did not have to rush and deal with the stress and anxiety of the car ride from our home to the vet and also sit in the waiting room while they prep our dog and then say goodbye to them in the vet's office (where both of our dogs really hated going to the vet). The ability to allow Muffin to be in the comfort of her own home and to have foods that she enjoyed during the process was worth it for us. I highly recommend home pet euthanasia at home if you can afford it. I like to think that this was the much better choice for Muffin and hope that she was happy with her chicken treats right before she left us, keeping her in good spirits than to be stressed and anxious if we had chosen to bring her to the veterinarian instead. Thank you Hearts and Halos for helping us during this process.
