Called on a Friday morning which the woman who answered put me immediately on hold, no problem. But when she got back to me she made it known that they just opened and are very busy which I said that's fine, I can always call back later since her response made me feel guilty for calling during business hours. She said no, she could help me out now meanwhile she keeps giving direction to other workers rather than giving me her undivided attention. I only called to inquire about a cat grooming service and if I could make an appointment but she came back with no there's not a guarantee that if I drop him off at a scheduled appointment time that she would get to him at that time which to me is pointless to even make an appointment then. I also told her my experience at a previous place which is why we're looking for a new place and she defended that company. My cat is 5 and has been groomed since he was a kitten... he's long haired, but it seems she really didn't want my business. Would not recommend solely based on customer service and the immediate defensiveness expressed from the woman on the phone. read more

Piper has been groomed here for almost two yrs. We have had awesome service each time. I revisited the business because of a concern I had. I did not want anyone to be targeted, or on notice, or any type of way. No complaints!! She saw the vet Friday, received a shot, and is doing well. I just wanted to apologize for even bringing anything up. Nobody did anything wrong. We will always be back. I brought her back to get an opinion more than anything, not point the finger. Bonnie treats her so well, everyone does. We will likely get the whole spa day even in winter. I just wanted to say, we are pleased with you and your business. So appreciative!!! I dropped my little girl off this morning. They normally call when they are through grooming your pet. I was one block from the store. It is 1209 so I thought to stop by and just check. They would have called my wife however she is at the hospital with her mom who has had shoulder surgery. Who knows maybe my wife was not in a position to even answer the phone. I did not say a word as I enter the groomers front lobby. I was all smiles just then my baby was snatched off the table and she said to me "we call when we are ready if you want her then take her. She is not ready but if you want to come before I call then take her!" You know customer service would have been to say Hello we are not quite ready if you like have a sit in the waiting area and we will finish her up. Instead I just go to my car and park down the road to keep her from being an ass to my baby! This is it for me NEVER again if I have any other option. I tried taking my rescue dog (with anxiety) to get his nails trimmed. I walk in, my dog starts barking and a lady was behind the counter immediately said, "ma'am, what do you need?" Irritated and harshly, mind you. I was shocked to hear her ask me in a harsh tone but said "I need to get his nails trimmed". He is an anxious dog and we are training him but he is a rescue and he has anxiety. She said "we can't help you, and he's pissing (her words) on our floor! I did offer to clean it up and was told they would get it. I was looked at like they had never seen a scared, barking, or anxious dog! I was extremely embarrassed! read more

I have used this place a handful of times for both of my dogs. Each time they did pretty well and are reasonably priced. A couple times I could not make it and had to reschedule which they did with no problem. This past Friday, I received a courtesy call at 1:57p reminding me of my appointment for Saturday. I missed the call as I was in meetings for work. I called Pets of Perfection back at 3:19p and could not get anyone to answer. In the past, if nobody answered the voicemail would pick up. That didn't happen this time. Today, I noticed Pets of Perfection debited $42 from my bank account. I called Pets of Perfection twice this morning with no answer. This time, voicemail worked!! I left a voicemail. I received a call back from Cynthia. I explained what happened. she said all calls forward to her personal cell and eventually go to voicemail. She said my story was new to her. She never heard of her voicemail not picking up. She said I could tell her that until I was blue in the face but it wouldn't work. She asked if O received a call on Saturday morning. I acknowledged the call came through but I didn't get it until late Saturday as I was out of pocket. She basically called me a liar and told me there was nothing she could do to help me. She said the $42 dollars is a "no call no show" fee because the slots were reserved and she couldn't use them. I completely get that and it makes 100% sense. but why call me a liar and say there was nothing she could do to help? I don't get it. she could have at least met me half way. Policy or not... it's just good business. This is the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. I'm a Marine Corps Veteran and prior law enforcement. I will not be going back. In reply to my previous review: My grandmother returned to Paws of Perfection for a better experience than last time. To see what difference they could make via owner reply. Soon after bringing the dog to Paws of Perfection my grandmother was met with discomfort, similar to my experience. Instead of bettering the customer service that would have been appreciated. My grandmother was declined on arrival. The older, female groomer stated "you know what happened , you just want me to tell you what happened!" So so so rude . My grandmothers feeling was extremely hurt , for she had no involvement or idea of my last awful experience. I did not express that to my family. My mother went to the salon as well and was also met with discomfort in person. We are willing to give second chances. Yet for this type of customer relations , this equals deplorable. This woman seems like a great groomer but her attitude is outdated along with her characteristics. Others feel the same via public reviews. It was a little more expensive than our previous groomer but he looked so good I decided to take him again. The second time - NOT PERFECTION. The staff seemed to be in too much of a hurry to get done and leave. His tail is choppy and so is his belly. So basically half of a haircut! Now I have to pay for another groomer because I am not taking him back. Oh and they charged me $78.+ for HALF A HAIRCUT! All he had was a bath and 1/2 cut. No nails, anal expression, fragrance was supposed to be done because I asked them not to.. When they called me at 12:45, I was told that I needed to come and get him and they would be closing at 1:30 (on a Tuesday). I live about 15 minutes away but what if I was running errands and could not get there that fast. Crazy! Clueless owner does not pay attention to requests and acts nice on social media and then leaves nasty messages on voicemail. She still insists that she did his nails angd anal glands - without a clue that I said I did not want them done. read more

REVIEW FROM A PAST EMPLOYEE. Since my previous comment was removed. This will be a very long review coming from a ex employee that worked for a solid 3 weeks and never got a pay check because of countless excuses and was eventually told to stop F*ing calling . . I now have a better job as a actual professional groomer but this isnt the point. I dont care about the pay I care about the animals that could be scared of groomers for life because of this place. Having worked on past clients this place has had a lasting impression on many dogs in a very negative way . -The owner allowed her dogs to the roam the grooming areas. I'm not sure if she still does but any PROFESSIONAL would understand how that could be a problem working with dogs -they dont train new hires -she incredibly rude to employees and customers that ask too many questions or "too much" of her . -she does not take criticism well and responds with "I'm sorry you feel that way" and list all the reasons that's wrong HOW THEY TREAT/ed THE ANIMALS is horrible. Cleaning is minimal... your pets will not get water while that are there because they could pee more and have to be bathed again. they do not train people except to show them where the tub is, thankfully I knew what I was doing unlike the other girl working in the bathing area. This child was drying a small dog on a table and had him hooked to a groomers helper( goes around the neck and keeps them on the table ..if properly used..) the dog freaked out and stepped off the side of the table( she didnt have the helper locked) dog dropped a foot off the side and the groomers helper stopped it from hitting the floor. Their employee that had apparently worked there 6 months freaked out and started screaming for the owner to help. I dropped what I was doing and grabbed the dog instead of letting it dangle off the side of the table like the other girl was. The owners only question was "is he having a seizure, he has seizures." And went back to what she was doing .Nope he just dangled off the side of the table for a minute while your oldest "trainee " freaked out instead of helping. Parents werent called, no one tried checking the dogs breathing or tounge for discoloration . Thankfully he seemed fine and breathing was good. I know I will once again get a rude response and be threatened with a law suit even though everything I've just said is 100% true. This review will most likely be removed again but this time I will be adding it to every site I can Please. If you love your animals do not take them to this place . read more

Gosh I just don't know where to start! I have never been more amazed and happy that I found this place!! My dogs Cesar and gunner always come out with the best looking cuts and sparkling teeth! Cesar is a pitt and had never been groomed before because people are always scared of Pitbulls.. pets of perfection greeted him and walked him to the back and never had an issue with him, they weren't scared or nervous at all and the welcomed him as if he was a tiny dog lol My other dog gunner is the most hyper dog I've ever seen.... I was worried when I dropped him for the first time because he doesn't sit still and is always running and jumping and barking, I was sure that when I went to pick him up he would have the worst hair cut cause he wouldn't hold still... but NO! HE HAD THE CUTEST CUT! Looks like a little teddy bear! I had to leave on an emergency flight to Montana one day because my father was on life support and no questions asked Cynthia not only made sure my dogs were ok at the grooming place but she also brought them home to her boarding! These employees and owner truly have a gift for animals... I won't go anywhere else ever again because my dogs are treated like family here and well taken care of. Eh. Took my baby here for grooming and she was done in a pretty timely manner. Upon picking her up she was groomed "ok." But when I picked her up I was greeted by a weird line of questioning and what I thought was a subtle indication that grooming my dog was a problem. I took my dog Aurora for grooming and boarding and I could tell she had a great time! She had a place to play with other dogs, to have her own private place and where she could lay outside in the sun! She was very clean when I picked her up! First time to bring our temperamental Llasa Apsa here for grooming. When dropping of I stated that he was very Temperamental and had attitude. The groomer immediately showed her attitude on her shoulders and I could tell she did not want to even try to groom our dog. We even talked to them about it over the phone. Ok, got a call at 1:50 that Baxter was ready and to come pick him up because "We close at 2:30". Thanks for the notice. Picked up Baxter. He looked good but the groomer still gave attitude because Baxter got snippy with her after a while and she didn't like it. I stated he probably got tired but she said he got "Angry" not tired. I know our dog. I asked if they would like to try to groom him again and her statement was basically "not if he's gonna show attitude". Hence, we will not be back. Word of advice, referrals go a long way, we already had several people who wanted to know how our experience would be so they could take their dogs to your establishment and get groomed. I'm sorry, I can not recommend poor first time clientele "Attitude". On a brighter note, you actually did a pretty good job. Thank you for that. read more

I love taking my big fur babies to see Cynthia and her staff! They are wonderful and are always enjoyable when I walk in with my 4 large dogs. I bring them a Mastiff, German Shepherd, Doberman and a Great Dane (our Saint Barnard went too before she passed of old age) so I know they have a handful when we visit LOL but they are still pleasant and ready to pamper my pooches! All 5 of those big dogs enjoyed being pampered at their shop! They look and smell fantastic when we pick them up! keep up the awesome work!!! :) read more

I've never experienced anything quite like I did yesterday (11/14/17). My wife & I have been taking our Papillon, "Primo", to Pets of Perfection for the past 3 years. I dropped Primo off at 8:00am to be groomed. Around 1:45pm, my wife received a call from the Midlothian Veterinary Clinic stating they had Primo at their office and needed permission to give him shot so a 2 inch laceration could be stitched up (NO CALL FROM PETS OF PERFECTION). Since no call had been received from Pets of Perfection, I finally called them at 2:30pm. They said they didn't want to upset us with a call until they had verified with the Vet that everything was OK and told me some story that Primo's skin must have just torn from trying to brush him out (WHAT!). I know accidents can happen, but PLEASE, TELL ME THE TRUTH! My guess is he received a cut from scissors. You don't get a cut like this from brushing out hair. Primo was released to us from the Vet's office at 4:45pm with 2 antibiotics & 2 pain killer meds. Needless to say, we won't darken the doorway of this establishment ever again and caution others using them or considering using them. read more

Primo's owner just won't let this thing settle down. Cynthia has apologized, paid the vet bill and tried hard to make this ACCIDENT right, but this owner is hysterical and won't quit or accept any explanation. Pets of Perfection is the BEST groom shop in Midlothian and in all the years it has been established, this is the first time she has had to take a dog to the vet. It's a groom shop! We groomers work with unpredictable animals! Accidents will happen on occasion. I have been using Pet of Perfection for years and with many dogs. First of all you can not find better groomers. Cynthia, David and the staff are fantastic. They are loving and kind people besides being very talented groomers. They were the only ones that would groom my Charlie, a severely abused Shih Tzu I adoped. Charlie would bite anything and anyone that attempted to groom him. Even a gentle brush was attacked, believe me after he bite through an artificial nail I was hesitant to brush him. But David never once turned Charlie down and was ALWAYS sent home beautiful. When my 14 year old poodle was getting to sick to come into the shop to be groomed Cynthia offered to come to my house to groom him so he would be comfortable. Unfortunately my Cooper didn't make it much longer. But how many groomers would have even offered to to do that, and by the way I live 25 minutes away from Midlothian. A few years ago I broke my leg and have a hard time getting around. They always come to the car to carry my 3 girls in for me. I love this place and would recommend to everyone. read more

The "owner" is extremely rude and unprofessional as well as disrespectful. I got a call at 11:30 that my pets were ready. At this time i was feeding my children therefore i could not attend that second. I received another call at 12:05 telling me they called with hopes that i could go RIGHT NOW being as rude as possible. Told them i was on my way. I do not live around the corner. I received another call at 12:10 by this time it was the owner calling. She said to me "are you coming from Houston or Austin because I don't see you anywhere you need to get your dogs NOW". I get there and she still had the nerve to tell me she could not see my dogs there anymore. Keep in mind these dogs are a small yorkie and chihuahua. NEVER EVER going back to this place. NEVER!!!! Love Pets of Perfection, they care about your dog just as much (if not more sometimes) as you do! Cynthia (the owner) is AMAZING with our little spoiled-rotten cotton ball Lucy. No matter how Lucy is feeling that day, Cynthia can adapt to her needs, which I understand is outrageous for Lucy being a dog, but with Lucy, it is either her way or the highway as many can attest. I began to love Pets of Perfection when Lucy was having bad allergies and Cynthia said she will do everything she can to get to the bottom of it, whether it was changing her bathing products to oat-based products or using different conditioners, or different perfumes or food. Along with all the thought and consideration for our baby, Lucy is always looking her best after leaving Pets of Perfection but what I love most is that Cynthia is amazing at what she does! Customer service, website fluidity, etc are not as much of a factor for me as all I want and all that really matters in terms of keeping my dog how she is intended to be is high-quality grooming to 'perfection' and that is what Cynthia and her staff is best at. Another available option that I love is the boarding, I personally have seen Pets of Perfection's new boarding facility when I went and picked up Lucy and wow. A brand new building with A/C and heat and tv's and adequate room and storage and toys, bowls, grass to run and play and pass the occasional bowel movement that all of our pets do so well...it's everything you would need for a dogs home away from home! Lucy, the star of the review, is a little Bichon Frisé with a very big attitude and she loves Pets of Perfection, as do we! read more
