They actually care about you and your pets. Making a reservation was super easy, the whole staff is friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Before I made the reservation I spoke with Jonelle and she was very nice. While my dogs were there they even sent a couple of updates about how they were without me even asking which I REALLY appreciated as my dogs are truly my babies. We also have a boy who has issues with his ears so we don't touch them and I told them and they listening to my requests about that. They also let my babies room together which was so helpful for me and for them to feel more comfortable. I can't express how much I appreciate them. She is a very sweet dog but I just couldn't keep up with all of her hair. I was apprehensive but took her, yesterday with instructions not to mess up her double coat. . . it keeps her warm and cool, as most Pyr owners know. When I picked her up, she was happy and pyrfect. Luna was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in June of 2025 and now takes medication twice daily. If left at home with her sister cats she would not get her medication due to hiding when the caretaker entered the house. We booked a two week stay at the Scratching Post while we traveled. I thought she would hide her whole time at the Inn, but to our surprise it was the opposite. During our daily updates we learned after the first 2 days of being shy she opened up to the staff. She enjoyed spending time with them, petting, scratches and followed them around, the word velcro kitty was used one day. She was very well taken care of during her stay. She is already scheduled for another stay at the Inn.

I would not hesitate to take her back. I highly recommend them. They only take care of cats so I felt that was a much less stressful situation instead of leaving them next to dogs. Even the rooms they keep them in are so much better than cages you see at other places. No cages here! They have little townhomes, standard suite or deluxe suite. I chose standard since I didn't think she needed the bigger room since it was just her. They also update you with pics and how their day went. If you can't tell I was incredibly pleased with this place.

Simply put, it was the best experience we have had in over 20 years of sending our pups to a kennel! This is so much more than a kennel.... The setting itself sets WDR apart from the competition: it's a residential setting with a large acreage for the dogs to roam and play in, large indoor/outdoor kennels spread out over a few outbuildings on the property (they also have an indoor setting for smaller breeds that looks really nice, but we didn't use)....Our dog, like many, tends to resist bring dropped off at kennels, the vet, etc., but he welcomed his visit there and really bonded with the owner, Kelli, who's caring, professional and honest with customers. She's also very flexible on Custom drop off and pickup times, and care requirements for your pup. You get daily updates/pix of your animals, too! We are certain that Shadow was well cared for at Weatherford Dog Ranch, and, in fact, we're boarding him there again in a few weeks. Check out the happy look on his face during his time there)
