Without it, there would be a many stray cat and dog without any chance of going on to have a better quality of life. Firstly, the Humane Society: The Humane Society is a non-profit organization with a mission of helping neglected and abused animals. They have a good cause, and for that, I support them as a whole. I have looked into their mission, and they are pretty straightforward, without any weird ideological angle or catch. I am very biased towards the Humane Society, as that is where I adopted my household firstborn, Pinto (my English/American Bulldog / Dogue De Bordeaux mix). I will give you some backstory on him, just to give you an idea of the lengths they will go to for their rescues. Pinto was found at about 10 weeks of age by a construction worker in Southeast Houston. He was emaciated, worm-riddled and covered with mange. The kindhearted man brought him to the Houston Humane Society, where they diligently treated his skin condition, and brought him to great health. Now, the GCHS is just as great a branch as any Humane Society location. However, you must understand that Corpus has a real problem with neglected, homeless, and roaming pets. Not that this is a problem exclusive to this city, but if you lived here, you would notice that it is pronounced. There are many ways to support the Humane Society. You can volunteer, donate pet food (try to make sure it is "grain free" please) or blankets to your local one, or you can also donate directly to them. They make it very easy to setup one-time or recurring donations directly from your bank account if you wish to do that. It is the time of year to be thoughtful and considerate. Perhaps you want to give to a good cause. This would be one of them, IMO. Also, if you are in the market for a new companion, consider adopting one from here. Adopt, don't shop!

I messaged Mary and she was so nice and informative letting me know that the bunny was receiving medical care but she would let me know when she would be available. A few days later she messaged me and I made the trip to pick up the bunny. Mary is an amazing woman. Shes one of the most compassionate people I have met. Rescueing animals is one of the hardest jobs to do. It's a difficult balancing act most of the time. Many times rescues are overcrowded and having to turn away animals because they dont have room or funds for medical cost. The work is endless feeding, cleaning, and medical needs are just the beginning. Yet, this woman has devoted her life to caring for so many animals that people have discarded or abandoned. Thank you so much Mary for everything you do for these precious animals. Violet will be well taken care of for the rest of her life.

The second time Sabrina came she return the dog to me soaking wet and an absolute mess. Of course she wanted her money and then she was out of here. I mentioned that he needed to be dried so he could be brushed and groomed. He absolutely look like hell. I'm guessing this is what PetWow, this family owned business, is known for. I have sent spoke to two other dog owners who used to use them. They show up, take your money then decide whether they want to do your dog or not. I can only assume after trying to contact them for eight weeks now if they do not want my business and are too full of themselves to make a courtesy call or even return one of many messages notifying me of their intentions. I have also left many messages on their website as their voicemail suggest. With no call back I can only assume they are a crackpot business and are only looking for the easy dollar.

I have found that they are cheaper on feed as well. Their AllStock 12% pellet is $8.50/50# sack and it's also 3.5% fat as compared to 2% fat in most other AllStock type feeds. Ricardo Feed is also $2 a bag cheaper for 16% layer pellets and scratch grains. They may be a couple miles out of your way, but if you buy a little more quantity, you can save some money. They are also very knowledgeable with their inventory, so you can always call and ask if they have something specific before you make the trip.
