The PetSmart on S Gartrell use to be a good place to get my dogs groomed. Not sure what happened to the store last year, but it just has not been the same. I went to pick my dog up yesterday 05/30/26 and they tried to give me the wrong dog. then the girl does to get my dog and Rigby yelps. Don't know what she did. I take my other dog today and she wants the shot records that they have on file. she tried to snatch them from me I told her don't try to take them and that I will give them to her. Then she and someone else comes out and says that she will groom Yoda today but for future grooming she won't groom any if my dogs. Oh ok; I tell her I'll just find a different groomer. I was in a hurry and needed the product, so the store stole $5 from me. If you look closely at the photo you can see where there was an old price sticker for $14.99 and the girl refused to honor their mark down. I have brought my dogs to this grooming salon many times. When I asked why my bill today was much higher than normal (for the same service I normally get), they were rude and dismissive and essentially called me a liar. After multiple negative experiences over the years, with different dogs, I'm going to finally learn my lesson and go elsewhere. I know no one from Petsmart will read this or care, since customer service is clearly not a priority for them (based on all the other reviews I'm seeing), but there was nowhere else to go with my frustration (and maybe I can save somebody else from wasting money). read more

During 2020 Covid precautions are enforced even when you take your pet to Banfield at Petsmart. I have been coming to this location for 7 years. My boxer lab LOVES COMING TO THE VET HERE. I went there yesterday to purchase few fishes for my tank. No one was there. I asked a cashier if she would know if anyone was there, and she was very annoyed with me. Then an elderly lady appeared, rude, unprofessionally with a horrible tone in her voice asked if she can help me. I said yes, you can help me. I would like to get some fish. I showed her the first one I wanted. Then another employee showed up and the older lady told her with this unpleasant condescending tone, pointing at me saying " SHE pointed at this one fish so far". WOW. I am standing right there. She's talking about me in this humiliating tone, like if I was the reason for her unhappiness. No, I get it, we ALL have problems in life, family, health etc but if you want to work with people you need to get trained how to actually work with people. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. Unfortunately, this lady didn't get the memo that PAYING CUSTOMERS are the reason she gets her paycheck. The owner should train the staff. It's pretty apparent this owner doesn't care about their customers and it reflects in the behavior of the staff. Save your money, go elsewhere, don't waste your money there, they don't want it. In a moment of weakness, the one and only time I ever bought fish from this PetSmart my tank got ich. The stories of them not taking care of their fish is true. The employees freely admit that they don't quarantine fish and basically dose the tanks with various immune boosters every night just to prevent mass die off. Never, ever again. read more

I don't think they really want to be a full-service groomer - it's exhausting trying to keep up with their rules on scheduling for simple non-bath services like a nail trim. One month, they require appointments for nail trims. The next month, they don't accept appointments for nail trims. The month after that, they want appointments for nail trims and only do them during a 4-hour period in the middle of the weekday even though they are open in the evenings. They push clients to schedule on the PetSmart app... but the app doesn't let you schedule nail trims. I totally get COVID rules and staffing issues, and for two years I've "rolled with it" because the store is close to my house so it's convenient... but I find that I dread having to deal with the grooming salon. read more

Unless you need the most basic of baths, find a different place to get your dog groomed. This is a review of the grooming service only. I have only shopped at the store itself a few times and the experience was average. The grooming service is terrible for anything beyond a basic bath and brush. They offer a lot of extras and upgrades, but the groomers do not actually perform the services they advertise. On at least two occasions I have purchased additional services that were not performed as indicated. On the most recent visit, I purchased the Furminator treatment for my 50lb Golden Retriever who was shedding her winter coat. The Furminator service clearly indicates that it includes 20 minutes of brushing after the bath/shampoo. I dropped my dog off, confirmed the details of the service I wanted, and four hours later picked her up. When I got home, it was clear that no brushing had occurred. A single light pass through her hair with a metal rake was immediately full of hair. See the attached photos. All of this was about right after I picked her up and with only one or two passes with the brush. There was so much loose hair on her that it could have easily filled a grocery bag. I wasn't expecting her to be hair-free, but I was expecting that the groomer would have done 15 - 20 minutes of brushing. There is no way that this occurred based on the amount of loose hair I was able to remove. When I called the store, the manager attempted to tell me that I didn't know what the Furminator treatment was for, and that it was all about a special shampoo they use that takes a day or two to work, and that a lot of the hair would come off over the next 24 hours. Loose hair all over my house is exactly why I paid for a groomer to brush her for 20 minutes! The manager said they would check the cameras or something and that I should call back the next day. I sent an email to the store manager but never received a response. When I called back the next day, no one answered. read more

The grooming department is almost always booked a day or two out making any last minute grooming appointments impossible. Aside from the grooming department not being available, they generally do a pretty good job. The cashiers are always friendly even though they are sometimes under staffed. read more

This pet smart is the worst I have been to in 5 states. The grooming section lost vaccination papers three times. Can't make an appointment for more than one dog at a time on the internet. They refused or were incapable of returning phone calls even after putting us on hold several times. They are rude in person. These folks need to go out of business and regroup only hiring nice people who care and new leadership that can properly train employees. They are a cancer in the dog grooming business. They were only given 1 star because no stars wasn't available. read more

This PetSmart on Abiline in Aurora has provided me with outstanding service both times I've been there. The first time I was there was in November to stock up on kitten food for the winter and early spring. I did not want to have to be out shopping after the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's crowd got sick or was coming down with Covid. My feral kitten continued to be feral and being wild, biting for no apparent reason. So I had to relinquish him to Dumb Friends League. That meant I had loads of unused kitten food. This morning, I arrived early at the Aurora PetSmart. Instead of being grumpy and putting me on a guilt trip for returning pet food, the person who credited and gave me a refund was pleasant and even took in the food and gave me a credit for kitten food purchased at a different PetSmart, saving me from having to make a trip there. I've had a totally different and negative experience at the Glendale PetSmart on Alameda Avenue. read more

the store has curbside pickup and no one will answer the damn phone when you get there to pickup. I called the phone number for curbside pickup and number is on a sign outside the door 3 times and it rings and rings after it tells you to select 3 for curbside pickup after quite some time it tells you that everyone is helping other customers. It rings a very very long time before it gets to that point. I'm handy caped and it is hard for me to go all the way to the back of the store to get the pet food so the curbside would have been nice. I could order on line and have it brought to my car with out me having someone else shop for me. This is the second time this has happened with this store. Then the Manager Will open up the register #3 he called us over and one other lady He took care of one lady in front of us and when it was our turn to pay, he tells us to move to the other register, #2 so my husband said What The Fuck, And the manager said what the fuck what, so my husband said what are you playing, moving us from one register to other and Will Said i dont have money on that register, and my husband said bull shit you just opened that register, and moved us over from were we were, and will said i just had to answer the phone, And i Said what you mean i thought you didn't have money in register 3. and he said i don't and i was like well if your the manager you should have your REGISTERS COMPLETE And when we were moving from register 3 to register 2 He Said just because i am the manager i won't take care of you, My husband asked for the manager in charge of him and he said he is gone for the day And i wont take care of you. We said what's your problem if your the one moving us from one register to other. Of course anyone would get annoyed and frustrated and especially with the attitude of the one that's supposed to be "The Manager" So his decision was to call the police and do a report on us, He told us to leave the store after he called the cops and we refused to leave we didn't want to be seen as thw bad ones leaving the store so we waited till the cops arrive and they even give us thanks for waiting. This place is not great, but not bad. The Good: It is large and has many items that might be hard to find somewhere else. It caters to many different kinds of pets. The Bad: For a large store, they don't have that many varieties for certain things (like wild bird seed). The are fairly pricey. This store offers services for your pets, too, so that may be a reason to go. read more

For some reason I started bringing my dog here again. They said that it would take 3-4 hours to groom him. It took over 5.5. When I picked him up they hadn't trimmed his top knot at all and he was extremely patchy. I am now going through and fixing it myself. read more

Went in back in April and bought a baby Bearded Dragon for my daughter, the guy that helped us made it a point to tell us he raises and breeds these animals. At first we were happy, because we were bond to be taken care of and get the right stuff if the man helping us raises them! Well fast forward 2 months and our dragon is sickly and lethargic (not brumation). After speaking with vets and locally owned pet stores, my dragon needed a UVA and a UVB light that PetSmart neglected to inform us about. Im so disappointed in this store, my dragon has been suffering this whole time. I do feel that I am partially to blame because I didn't do my own research, but then again if an "expert" so he claimed, was helping, I figured we had everything our little dragon needed. Point of the matter is this, if you want a pet, don't rely on some worker at a mass pet chain store, do the research and personally, go some place local. We will never shop here again. I have taken my complaint to corporate as well. UPDATE: got a call from the manager, they are fixing the situation and getting my dragon vet care! I'm glad they are stepping up and helping, I sure hope my dragon pulls through this. read more

We went here for a 6-week dog-training class and it was a very frustrating experience. We paid for the whole thing upfront, and received new training, tricks and direction for the first four classes, but the last two classes, we did not learn anything new at all. The trainer showed up late to almost every class and multiple dogs and owners stopped coming. We called management to let them know we felt like the 6 week class should be 6 weeks of learning new things and that's what we paid for, and they ended up hanging up on us. Worst Petsmart ever ! If I could give 0 stars I would. as everyone knows since COVID booking an appointment for grooming is near impossible and a month out. I made my appointment a month ago and never got an email confirmation a text message nothing all I knew was the day of my appt. my husband called the petsmarts near by to see what time and which petsmart it was at. He called the petsmart on Abliene. They looked up my reservation by number and told him my appt was at the parker location on twenty mile. Naturally I drove to that location had to wait because someone was in front of me and by the time I got in the parker location they told me my appt was at the Abliene location running late i asked the parker location to call them tell them what happened and let them know I would be there shortly. So I drove all the way from parker and was almost to the abilene store when someone called me from the stating they gave my spot away to someone else. I explained the situation and was practically in tears. in short,they basically said too bad there's nothing we can do we took another dog in. I asked to talk to the manager, who by the way was rude and had no customer service skills what so ever. I explained the situation and how bad my dog needed to be groomed she was miserable. He didn't take anything I said into consideration and didn't even try to get my dog another appointment. He basically put his foot down and was no help at all. considering the abliene store told my husband that the appt was at the twenty mile location I thought he would at the very least pretend to accommodate me. Here is what he said, sorry its going to be another month no exceptions. I hung up and called back the parker location they took everything into consideration they were so nice. I didn't have to talk to a manager. they said bring her in. it might take a little longer but we will get her done. so I know the Abliene could have done the same or at least try to do the same. I am in customer service and I would have never just never treated a customer this way. They sent me to the wrong place in the first place. so for them to be so rude and condescending was ridiculous. Good luck to anyone who goes there worst petsmart ever and I have been going to petsmart for my dog for 10 years now and have never been treated as rudely as this location. Yeah! Don't go here. My 11-year-old dog had her first spa appointment of her life. I wanted to treat her. Now she has a cough. Manager says - let me transfer you to Banfield. Oh your dog should be seen right away to rule anything serious out. It's 100. But we can't fit her in. I can make an appointment Friday. six days! Really! When they tell me that it could be serious and not to wait to get her checked/ treated? She says " oh by the way all of the groomers are really good and make sure that all the dogs are up-to-date on their vaccinations." They never once asked me about any vaccinations except for rabies. You get what you pay for. I had no idea that there would be so many dogs and people crammed into such a small area and once I had taken her in there I was kind of committed. never again read more

They have nothing spectacular, staff is helpful when you get to the register but nearly nonexistent when you are looking for products, advice, etc They have competitive prices from what I have seen but it is a PetsMart, no better or worse than any others I have been to read more

To start with the customer service is terrible. PetSmart has always had a bias against bulldogs and pit bulls, we brought our dog to get groomed and they changed his breed from an American Bulldog to a English bulldog and they never did this at Petco when we took him to get groomed there. They then told us that it would be 40 minutes to get him groomed and we thought "well that's pretty fast considering he's pretty big but whatever." The lady called us in not even 15 minutes and said "your dog is ready to get picked up" We have a baby so we said we'd be there in 10 minutes and she said "no no no you can't he's an express so you have to be here now." We were upset with the terrible and rude customer service, how are we going to just DROP everything we're doing to go in not even 10 minutes I thought it was a reasonable amount of time it's not like we were going to be there in an hour. We got there and they immediately start complaining about him saying he doesn't listen he jumps on people and he was hurting them. We never got these complaints at Petco we always got told he was such a good dog, and he is extremely gentle with our daughter and other kids he's just a puppy so obviously he has to learn. How are you going to complain about dogs being dogs ? If you are going to work with animals you should not have such a negative attitude.
