I have a skittish 16 yo dachshund mix in desperate need of a nail trim and grinding. One of the new groomers could not handle all of my dog's movements. Brittany took over after seeing my dog get increasingly stressed out. Brittany took the time to cuddle and cradle my dog while she realized cutting the nails was too stressful, she ground all of my dog's nails instead. My dog was much calmer with Brittany. My point is, Brittany is a wonderful asset to Petsmart's grooming team! I'm going to request Brittany to trim all my dogs nails from now on. I gladly give Brittany five stars! read more

My dog had a rash and this store is close to my home. I popped in looking for over the counter solutions. The aisles have signage but I wasn't seeing what I was looking for. As I walked around confused a helpful employee saw me and offered help. I told the employee what I was looking for, they took me directly to the aisle and made recommendations based on products. It was awesome! I would definitely return for pet needs. The store itself is dark inside and checkout was very busy. They did open another lane which was nice. read more

My 50 year old mother tried to return unopened flea shampoo to this location in Bridgeton and the manager gaslighted her and told her the receipt was fake. The product was literally $8 and she bought it at that location for her cats. He kicked her out of the store saying he will never do business with her. She is now crying in the parking lot and I urge everyone to never do business with this petsmart. They are terrible people and deserve to be out of business and the manager on staff needs to be FIRED. We will be reporting this location. read more

Date: 02/28/2023 Business Location: PetsMart (Store #1686) - Bridgeton, MO. Time: 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. I scheduled dog grooming services for my two dogs at 1:00 p,m. The past practice has always been to drop off the dogs at least 45 minutes prior to the grooming appointment. Due to COVID protocol there is a sign on the door of the grooming salon that states only one person is allowed at a time. (Totally Understandable). When I arrived at the location around 12:10 p.m. there was a female customer in the salon discussing / dropping off her small dog. At that time a hug dog started barking and one of my dogs due to being nervous was able to get out of her collar and escape out the front door. I was able to get my dog. When I returned to the establishment around 12:25 p.m., the same customer was still inside the salon an now there were about 4 customers waiting outside the salon door. My dogs were completely nervous as were the other customer dogs. One of the customers stated he suffered from PTSD. They declined grooming my dogs stating that the salon manager (RC) had called off sick at the last minute - which per the store assistant manager (Mil Isaiah it was not the 1st time. I was given a 50% discount for services on my next visit. Remedy seeking: 100% discount for 1 grooming service for both of my dogs. I checked my phone and emails. I was never notified of the cancellation of my appt. Totally unprofessional service. The salon manager should know better than to call off work at the last minute. Also, there should be a time limitation for dog drop off / pickup if they only want one person inside the salon area. Dogs were nervous enough to the point of shitting on the floor. read more

The mega-chain pet store has everything you can imagine: pet food, equipment, accessories, training classes, grooming services, hoteling services, and adoption services. This PetSmart was well stocked and looked to be well staffed. Walking through the store, I couldn't get over the stench... of unclean animals and their waste. I didn't last long in the store and quickly grabbed what I came for, paid and left. (I actually came to get activated charcoal- the type you put in aquariums- for my succulent plants. LOL) read more

Don't go here for pet grooming. LINDA and another old white lady with glasses were very rough with the dogs, it to the point it looked like they were strangulating the dogs. They were talking too much rather than focusing on comforting the dogs, which probably would've made their job easy than scared dogs trying to run away from them. I've been going here for my dogs nail trimming about a year now and never had a problem until today. My dog is still pup and hates the experience so yes it is hectic to deal with during this process, keep in mind it's also never been an issue for anyone else in this position. Today when I received my dog back she had a nail broken at where it attaches to her foot with blood all over her paws. The lady tells me it was broken and they couldn't trim it, I tell her how it was not broken when I brought her in... They try to blame me when it was clearly them and advise I take her to the vet!! They didn't wrap it up or do anything to help my poor baby! I'm letting everyone know about this and will not be returning!! read more

BEWARE - if you love your pet, keep searching for a groomer- don't leave your baby here. I know finding a great groomer in the Metro STL area is difficult, finding a place that's trustworthy of leaving your 'child', a place that you don't mind parting with you hard earned money. I brought my 11 months old shih tzu for a wash and clean up hair cut. Cut just underneath (belly/chest) due to a little bit of matting because she sit so close to the ground and it had gotten wet from walking across the grass. Mind you, she had just been groomed literally 6 weeks prior and I keep both my dogs brushed everyday and groomed (I also have an older boy shih tzu who had an appt also for a couple weeks later of which I quickly CANCELED), so she really just needed to be cleaned up a little. Her hair was flowing beautifully. I told them do not cut her, just clean up underneath (belly/chest/chin) area. I paid extra to upgrade to a better shampoo and conditioner. Needless to say when I picked my baby up, they skinned her. ALL of her hair was shaved and they even did a terrible job at that (it was uneven and choppy if that makes sense) I would add photos, but would not want to embarrassed my baby like that - the internet is forever. I have been working on myself lately, with the old me it would have been some consequences and repercussions in that store lol but the new me calmly paid my bill and took my baby .... livid/steaming all the way home. I know her hair will grow back and when it does she will never see the inside of a Petsmart Grooming ever again.... they will never get my hard earned $$ again. It was a wasted $100. I write this review simply to inform you, my animal loving parents, not to take your baby here. I should have turned and walked out once I saw how one groomer was talking to a dog that would not sit still for her. A HUGE red flag, silly me and my puppy paid the price smh. Oh I forgot to tell you, even though I paid extra for upgraded shampoo and conditioner, she didn't get that, if they even bathed her at all. Also, mind you she's a tiny dog (about 13 lbs), they put a hanky around her neck for the size of an adult husky or german shepherd - I think they were trying to be funny, I saw it as their ignorance ... it's the new me, so I paid my bill never ever ever ever ever to return again. I'm concerned about the actual care and handling of the fish at this store. I have verbalized it to 2 other people who remain unconcerned and do not act surprised. They look at me like I'm the one who is being unreasonable. One of the employees caught a fish that I was wanting to purchase by "clamping" it up against the glass with the edge of the net and then squished it (vs "catching) until she got it into the net only because it struggled to get free of the edge of the net. That particular fish died only a night later probably injured or at the very least stressed beyond recuperation. At another visit, intending to buy more fish for my aquarium, I witnessed another employee put the fish that a customer was purchasing, straight into the plastic container with water (instead of putting the bag lining the container with the water already in the bag), then pour the fish into the bag, (poor, frightened fish). When 2 little fish got caught left behind flopping without water in the plastic container, this employee put her finger into the bin and scraped them out into the bag with her nail!!!! I imagine that these fish died shortly after with the rough handling or the contamination on their bodies from her finger. I have spent a lot of money at this store and been many times because I'm building up the aquarium that I bought over time. I watch to see which employees are at the fish tanks. I asked the last one that helped me who is the resident fish expert (because I want to go when he/she is there and to ask for them only when buying fish) and he said "well all of us are." I don't think so. I think I might look for another shop that treats their fish like they would someone's dog instead of like minnows to fish with. read more

I have used this salon for the past 10 years for 2 dogs. The first was a beautiful boy Shihtzu who had to leave me in 2014. He looked so good all the time and not one bad haircut. My second one is a tiny Brussels Griffon mix. Again never one bad haircut. All of the groomers there are great, especially Shelby, Carrie and Karen. They really take time with my dogs! read more

Petsmart in general is someplace I go out of convenience. When I can, I prefer to save money and buy from amazon. Sometimes though, puppy NEEDS something new to chew on other than my favorite shoes. Of course, you have to sign up for their loyalty card to get their sales.. but for the amount of money I spend here, I'd expect to get some sort of reward or coupon for the things I buy the most. Not the case at Petsmart. This particular store is pretty clean and the workers are always very friendly. Not everyone wants to come up and say hi to my big bucket of slobber but it never bothers the people here. I've gone through two rounds of puppy training here too. The trainer is great - my only beef is that the other dogs aren't screened for aggressiveness before being accepted in class. It was very stressful having a mean lab who would bark, growl, and worse snap at my goofy-i-love-everyone-and-everything dog. If I had to do it again, I'd ask to be put in a difference class without the mean dog. read more

This location is AMAZING!!!!! I can always count on Katie to have my baby boy bathed and groomed to perfection!!! She takes extra special care to make sure my guy has the best experience possible. The staff in the store are friendly and helpful. Ryan is always there to assist when I cant find something. He even has popped back to visit my little guy when he is in the back. (Everyone just adores my boy!) The medical staff is equally wonderful! They have been excellent in treating and assisting in keeping my boy healthy. It's been wonderful having a location that recognizes your pet by site and knows his name and treats him like a long lost friend each time he enters a designated are. I have also been very fortunate to be able to get drop in appointments here due to my erratic schedule it's a must have. I am grateful to the wonderful team at this location. I didn't want to give it any stars, the worst place ever to get a dog groomed we took our Maltese there in dec and they messed him up it was time for another hair cut in April I wasn't going to use them my husband said take him to petsmart give them one more try so I did I even took a picture in to show the groomer what I wanted and OMG!!!! They mess him up so bad his face was so funny looking and she cut his ears so short and uneven we can't even try and fix them big lesson learned never again will I take my dog there again I'm done with this place. read more

Worst experience I ever had. Staff was preoccupied with cellular devices or looked like standing in a dumpster would have been better than being there at work. I purchased a fish for my daughter and before daybreak, the fish died. In the store, I made mention that all the Betta fish on the shelf looked as if they were dead. The store clerk looked up from her phone only to state that those fish just don't move a lot. I don't know too many dead fish to move very often. Maybe they were Lazarus fish and not Betta fish. I was charged $11.00 extra because my dog pooped in the cage and they had to clean it up. Perhaps my dog was frightened, I don't know why he pooped, but I resent being charged because of it. Don't take your dog there because if he poops there will be a poop charge. I shoulld have taken him in wearing a pamper. read more

I refuse to buy fish here again as long as Jonathan is the store manager. He has no idea which fish are what. He tried selling me 3 barb tetra for the price of a dwarf gourami. Each would of cost $4.69. I told him that they looked nothing like the dwarf gourami he was selling them for. He said there was nothing he could do because they looked the most like that fish... which is nothing at all. Then he had the cashier charge me for a powder blue gourami also for 4.69. The fish was a regular blue and was $2.99. The guy is an idiot. At first I started to ask a question and he automatically stated I can't answer questions I can just get you fish. read more
