Had an excellent experience with 'Toni' at Cumming PetSmart yesterday for a bath & haircut for our senior Golden mix, Buddy! He's a senior dog with hip dysplasia & needed some extra TLC, which Toni provided with aplomb. When Buddy had trouble standing, she gave him a break & then got down on the floor to lovingly give him his cut - all the while saying soothing words to him. After the excellent grooming, Toni offered to help me get Buddy into the car, which she did - AMAZING!!! read more

The cat's tail and leg fur smelled strongly of urine after its bath, and its ears weren't cleaned either. I cleaned them myself with cotton swabs when I got home, and they were visibly dirty. A very poor experience; I will never go there again read more

The majority of their staff lack costumer service skills. I have been in this store several times because of the Royal Canine food supply is the nearest to my home. I have 3 dogs. Beagle, Basset and Teddy Bear Pomeranian which is 2.5 mo old. He is tinny! The front desk at Benfield and the large lady at the register is hard to deal with. Every time I walked in here they're impatient annoyed and rude. It's several times now! That's why I decided to write this review. For some reason I get the "get out of here" mag how they don't want to do their job and feel bother that you are buying things so they have to help you. It's several times - one particular time I came over and was 20min until close down I had only one need (1 single royal canine food bag) the level of anger because I walked in the store was awful. Literelly hate coming here. My home is 35min way and the vet clinic are great doctor! Just wonderful people - amazing team. But the store side is super uncomfortable. read more

I registered for a training class for my pet, booking three private sessions. I missed the first lesson and requested a reschedule, but they didn't honor the new date and time, citing that the trainer was double-booked for a group class. I considered that even. During my first class, I was frankly unimpressed. They kept asking for my phone number and information about my soon-to-be ex. Before leaving, I updated my phone number with the cashier. A few days later, I called the store to cancel my remaining two classes and requested store credit instead. While speaking with the manager, I provided my number four times, yet he still asked for it again. When I questioned if he was doing this on purpose, he responded, "Why are you getting upset?" I clarified that I wasn't upset, just frustrated at having to repeat my number multiple times. He then informed me that I would need to come to the store for a refund. When I called again, I received the same response. I believe this reflects poor customer service and an inexperienced, unapologetic manager. Unfortunately, they have lost my business. read more

As a first time pet owner , took my puppy for training to Dog Trainer Brittin G , she is one of the most unprofessional, problematic and unprepared people I have ever met . She was rude and uninterested the whole time . Pretended to not know about the class with us , wasted the first 15 min trying to figure out if we had a class. Taught our puppy to "sit" even after we told her that he already knew that command. Next class , same drama , wasted time and cut short the class by 15 min . She ended up having a meltdown when asked about why she cut the class short .she rushed to her superior , made a scene , at which point I decided to not have her train our puppy. Luckily got our refund from the superior. She made the whole thing so unpleasant . Would not recommend her . read more

Misdiagnosis, negligent deaths, dishonest Well Care program. Substandard veterinarians. that's what you'll get at Petsmart! They misdiagnosed my Pit Bull dog, when she had a constant watering from her eye, and I repeatedly asked about it. They told u that it was fine and that she just scratched her eye. Now, she is blind in that eye. We would have taken her to a specialis, but they kept saying there was no problem! I've als heard horror stories about folks loosing their pets through pure negligence. I bought a "Wellness Plan" and when the pets were no longer under my care, I didn't think I obligated to pay for the monthly premium, but when I stop the payment, the account went into "collection", and I'm still paying them. That may have been my fault for not completely understanding the plan, but that was never explained to me. Now, they cannot be insured even by someone else. It's not fair that the dogs cannot even be insured by someone else, when I'm continuing to pay what I "owe" I do NOT understand this! N medicine can be purchased for them, and no one can get any services for their healt. Als, they not supposed to receive grooming services as well. I believe these are very unfair practices. The last two times I have taken my puppy here have been horrible. I let it go the first time because I figured maybe the groomer had an off day but this past weekend was the final straw. I pay around 90$ for a bath, haircut, and the deluxe package which is supposed to include specialty shampoo/conditioner, teeth brushing and a bandana. When I came to pick my puppy up the groomer gave me my bill and there was a 10$ up-charge. I asked what it was for and he said when they put my dog in the crate after they were done grooming him he peed on his own face I'm like NO! He said the extra 10 was because they had to bathe him again.. and the groomer needed an extra set of hands when she was giving him a haircut.. not MY problem! My dog's ears were not cleaned out. His face was still brown from dirt. His haircut is terrible super uneven all the way around. They didn't even send him home in a bandana! Not to mention he was shaking as soon as we got back in the car. I'm just so disappointed! The manager took the 10$ fee off but I wanted to write this review to warn other people not to come to this location. I'll never come back. The groomer I had both times is named Kyla. She doesn't know what she is doing doesn't want to cut the dog's nails and lied about giving him an extra bath. Me personally I don't think someone who doesn't have grooming experience should be working here and definitely shouldn't charge 90$ for a shitty job. read more

Will never again take our Ryleigh (King Charles Cavalier Spaniel) to PetSmart for grooming again. Dropped her off and told the person who took her back exactly what they needed to do. All I wanted was a trim but they said the groomer would call me to verify what I wanted. I received a call from the groomer asking me what I wanted and when I told her, she said "you are going to kill me". The groomer had shaved down the middle of her back prior to contacting me. I went up there immediately. She was not done of course but what choice did I have. I asked her to try and blend everything in as much as possible. I came back a while later and was equally disappointed with the rest of her work. It looked like she didn't do anything else. Then I asked if they had done other service that I requested and she said no but they would do it right then, again I had to wait. Will never again be taking our dog here. read more

I took my puppy, Coco, here for her first groom back in late 2017. Kaitlyn has been her groomer ever since. Coco, whom is shy towards everyone, jumps into Kaitlyns arms when she sees her. (She only jumps into my mother's and my arms) Kaitlyn knows exactly what I want. She's extremely knowledgeable and gives advice on what would be best for our fur-babies. Really a hit or miss with the attitude of the employees. Went today and had a young female employee walk right past me with such a rude snide look. I almost stopped to say something. We were told on the phone that walk ins for nail clippings were welcomed any time during business hours. We showed up 30 minutes before they closed and were told that they didn't have time.... to clip one nail.... Pretty ridiculous considering we just called them before we left and they told us to come in. I am extremely upset. After a month of being moving down here I took my dog to a groomer to get a cut an a wash. I was thinking it was no big deal because in the past 5 years I've always taken my dog for a cut and wash back home. After a few days my dog is itching like crazy. My husband and I take a look at our dogs skin and she has a bunch of little specks we've never seen before. I take my baby to the vet and she says she has flees. I'm mortified!!! I gave our dog a bath at home, topical treatment, she got a shot from the vet, a three month chewable flee and tick pill and I treated our whole apartment twice!! After a month all was good again. Last Saturday she goes to Petsmart for a haircut and bath. This is her third visit. When my husband brings her back our dog is scratching like crazy. I asked my husband why is she scathing. Jokingly he says I itch too after getting a haircut. Yesterday I decided to take a closer look at my dog because she is still itching. She has a bunch of little specks in the middle of her backside again. She was fine when we dropped her off but now she has flees again!!!! I am so done with these people! I have no idea how I can have my dog for 5 years, take her to Petsmart in Illinois and she never gets anything and after being here for 6 months my dog gets flees from a pet store groomer TWICE!!!! NEVER AGAIN! My biggest issue is the cavalier attitude the groomers and vet have towards a pet having flees. This is NOT run of the mill every day for me and my husband. About 5 months ago my family and I went to PetSmart to go pick up some goodies for our beloved dogs. Typical Dog things.... things to eat, things to tear up, things to hump. While we were there our precious 5 year old daughter saw the goldfish tank, and fell in love with one of them. We speak to the customer service lady who tells us that without a proper tank and filtration, our .23 cent goldfish will only live for about 2-3 days in a "fishbowl". My wife and I hear this and it is music to our ears, minimal commitment for .23 cents?! Sign us up! It'll be dead in a few days, we will get our counter space back, the kid can flush it and get a good cry in... all is well. Now, five months later. We have the same fish who is lovingly named Dory. In the same fish bowl from the dollar store.... And every week that damn goldfish looks at me when I clean it's bowl and just smiles at me like "got ya f*cker!".... This ended up being a bad customer service experience not only was the lady, that did attend me, rude she didn't even bother explaining to me what they did for my dog. I brought my dog here for training. First off, good trainer 101 (and decent common sense) would tell you NOT TO SHAME the people coming to you for help. The head trainer was a JERK. Not only did she shame us for the tools we use but she rewarded our dog for pulling and jumping and said "see? I don't have a problem with her..." Keep in mind she's saying this as my dog is jumping around her feet, stepping on her and getting them both tangled in her leash. Really? I've been trying to get my dog to STOP DOING THAT and she REWARDS my dog for the exact thing we are trying to teach her NOT to do? Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and don't take your dog here to get trained. Otherwise you'll end up with an empty bank account and an poorly behaved dog. They didn't even earn the 1 star rating. read more

On December 19th, 2014, my wife and I took our dog in for a bath and nail grind. We've done this numerous times before and never had an issue. On the way home, I noticed she was bleeding from her neck and had a major laceration. We got home and called our vet for an emergency appointment and got stitches (~$350). Our vet said the cut was just barely over a major artery and could have caused her to bleed out had it been a little deeper. You can imagine how scared this made us. We immediately got in touch with PetSmart and had them file a corporate incident form. They denied any responsibility, but agreed to file the form. Today (01/11/15) we called them back. I stress that WE called THEM and it was not the other way around. The manager, Tony Hallett, informed us they were not going to claim responsibility and, repeatedly, said the dog was not injured in their store. This comes more than 3 weeks after the incident and the initial filing. While we are trying to talk to the DM, we are not pleased that we are being written off and not reimbursed for what happened to our poor dog. As consumers and the parents of a loving dog, we are very disappointed in this customer service and issue of animal safety. I worked in customer service and I know things happen, but we entrusted the safety of our dog with PetSmart and, whatever may have happened, we were written off and our concerns ignored. I'm not only disappointed in the customer service of this store. I'm disappointed in the lack of respect paid to me and my wife regarding our dog. I hope those who read this will consider driving that little bit more down the same road to PetCo and taking their business there. read more

I have three wonderful women in my house. Of course, my wife is totally the love of my life, but right behind her (literally) come two little darlins, Muffin and Peanut. Both are rescue friends. Muffin is a 12 yr old Shih Tzu/Pekingese and a laid back luvvy bundle of luxuriant white fur. Peanut is a 9 yr old Yorkshire Terrier with a tiger's heart and a desire to be ON you all the time. Both of them sleep in our bed every night. It is very important to me to have all my girlz happy. Petsmart is where we all go to get doggie food and accessories that make their tails wag. We really appreciate how Petsmart hosts pet adoptions almost constantly, and how their staff are pet lovers, too. The girlz say"Rowf!" to that. read more

Since my recent move to Flowery Branch I haven't been able to take my little baby to her normal groomer, which was more of a vets office, but it was close to home & the groomer lady has been grooming & taking care of the family pets for as long as I can remember. So, I decided to give the Cumming location Pets Smart a try, I will admit that I tried them only because they were cheaper than Pet Co., but for once going the cheaper route has served me well. With the other groomer I always had to call and make appointments months in advance, with Pet Smart I can call their friendly staff merely days before I need to get her in & they always seem to have a spot open just for me. Like I previously mentioned the staff is always so friendly & willing to hear my "demands" out. Sugar is a Bichon, but I don't like for her to be groomed as one. They put up with my obvious mommy-izums & always do such a great, great job. For this hard to please pet lover I give Pet Smart & their family an A+! read more

When I arrived eight hours later they could not find my order. She disappeared into her office without a word while I waited. I never go to this store anymore after several years of enduring the rude staff that consists mostly of teenagers or really immature adults. One guy refused to sell me the number of fish I requested because he didn't want them to be "too crowded" even though I wanted very small goldfish for a very large fishpond..?? He acted like he thought I was lying about having the pond instead of just a fish tank. And the list of idiotic and downright rude behavior of the staff is too much to try and type here... Once Petco opened I started shopping there and the staff is so much nicer and a lot more knowledgeable. Plus they sell lots of ferret products as well as ferrets - something PetSmart doesn't do. read more

This review is specifically to compliment Shannon in the grooming department. Our adopted cat is, shall we say, "feisty". We originally tried three other cat groomers in the Cumming/Gainesville area to do a basic nail clipping, but they simply couldn't handle our cat. It turned out to be traumatic for the cat and traumatic for them. (We also tried it ourselves, but were equally frustrated.) But when we found Shannon, we found a gem! So for the past couple of years, we've been visiting her for our monthly nail trimming, and she gets the job done -- no muss, no fuss -- and no trauma! read more

I took my husky in for them to simply help her with the shedding of her winter coat, a bath and nails to be clipped. 4 hours later I picked her up. Nails were not clipped and they shaved my dog! They shaved my HUSKY!!!!!!!!!!!! You are never supposed to shave a husky unless it's for medical reasons!! They have put my dog at risk of a heat stroke and sunburn! I will never be bringing my dog back there and recommending no one to them as well!by far the worse place to take your pet to be groomed!!! read more

I bought a 4week old dog whom i am concerned about and she refused to answer any questions and told me to talk it would be $40. When I told her i just had questions on how to care for the baby dog (who was not even supposed to be away from its mother) she tried to kick me out of the store 3 times.
