    Bad haircut

I went to take my dog for grooming since he's never gotten one before and was in much need of one . The groomer shaved his whole body and left his face completely untouched, I went home and had to finish the work myself ! She says he wasn't letting her cut around the face but when I tried he was completely ok ! She didn't seem to want to service me anymore and said there will be no charge. She seemed to be upset with me over my dogs behavior like I had something to do with it ! My dog is nervous, These groomers should have experiences with these type of dogs ! Never going here again very unprofessional and need to fix there attitude

I tried another trainer and the methods didn't work but Tonja came in, assessed the issues, explained why Betsy felt the need to take over as leader, gave me exercises and non-physical corrections to use and Betsy is even better than her old self! Going in I knew that I was the one needing training and made the commitment to both of us to do as told and I'm so happy I did! Tonja doesn't sugar coat things but she isn't rude either. While I appreciate that, I suspect the person who left a one-star review who also owns a small dog wasn't wanting to hear what she really needed to hear and didn't really want to put in the time to make her ankle biter less yappy! Dogs behave similarly regardless of size and I'm as guilty as any for letting a tiny one get by with more than I have with my larger dogs. It's been 3 weeks now and we are still doing our exercises and continue to be better all the time when out for walks and seeing other dogs. For the first time in a long time, she'll calmly lay in my lap! I've also used Tonja for boarding Betsy and it's the first time she has been boarded that she ate while I was gone and came back rested and relaxed! Love Mystic Moon and everything Tonja stands for and does!

He came from a home with a lot of other dogs and so he was very anxious/aggressive around other dogs. When he would see another dog, his hair would stand up, he would growl, and would drag us towards the dog when we were walking him outside. We tried to do training on our own with no success. When we started looking up dog trainers, we couldnt believe the prices. $100 an hour? We can't afford that. What if it takes 12 hours? That's a lot of money. Although Chico is worth it, we just couldn't fathom spending that kind of money. We continued searching and came across Mystic Moon. They were affordable and had top notch reviews, so we decided to give them a try. Sunday came around and we anxiously pulled up to our first class praying that he didn't attack another dog or something. As we walked in, he was pulling us, growling, barking, and jumping. Tonja walked over and told us to put a training collar on him and directed us to seats that were a little away from the group so that he could calm down and we could try to train him without distractions. Now, fast forward to week 4 (4 hours total of training classes and doing the homework that Tonja and Chuck assigned us every week)...he is a completely different dog. Chico is no longer the aggressive dog he was before. He doesn't bark, pull, or growl when another dog comes around. His hair no longer stands up and he seems to have more confidence. When we started this journey, we had little hope. Everyone told us that based on his past and his breed, he will more than likely always be aggressive and that he might get better when he gets older. I truly thank God every day that we came across Mystic Moon. Chico is quickly becoming the dog we have hoped he would be and we are quickly becoming the parents that he needs and deserves. If you need someone to help you train your dog, look no further. Tonja and Chuck are the real deal.

Thankfully, Jemma was with Anna when the spring storms started rolling through. Anna later told me, "That first storm was hard to watch her struggle through." I knew exactly what she meant. But with each storm, Jemma improved. When Anna brought her to my house for training sessions, I couldn't believe I was looking at the same dog. I had intentionally arranged for people to come over so we could test her. Anna would calmly tell her "No" in the sweetest voice, and Jemma would immediately settle down. No barking. No lunging. No chaos. I knew she would be different, but I never imagined the transformation would be that dramatic. Anna took her back for a little more work, and two weeks later she brought her home for good. I sat on my deck in complete disbelief as Jemma watched the neighbors without barking or acting like a fool. When someone walked by with their dog, Anna coached me through it. After Jemma let out a bark, I quietly said, "No." And she stopped. Just stopped. WHAT?! Are you kidding me? Why didn't I bring her to Anna five years ago? The very next morning, we had a thunderstorm. I immediately thought, "Here we go." But Anna had already given me the tools and skills I needed to help Jemma work through her fear. We sat through the storm together. The thunder was loud. We both heard it. But Jemma wasn't shaking. She wasn't vomiting. She wasn't trying to hide. She simply sat there and handled it. I was stunned. We even walked outside in the rain, and she didn't immediately run back to the door. The confidence Anna gave her during the board-and-train program was incredible. Later that day, the mailman came. Okay, girl, here's the real test. Oh please, let me remember what I was taught! She lunged. She growled. She barked. She was jumping around and completely out of control. I said, "No." (In Anna's sweet voice, of course.) She stopped. In the middle of a bark. WHAT??? The mailman yelled from across the street, "WOW! That is SO much better! What an improvement!" I just stood there staring at Jemma in disbelief. Anna and her team are true experts. The time, patience, dedication, and knowledge it took to transform my mix of cuteness and crazy into a confident, manageable dog is something I will always be grateful for. What impressed me most was how quickly Anna can identify the root of a problem. She doesn't just address the symptoms--she is incredibly skilled at detecting behavioral issues, understanding why they're happening, and developing a plan to resolve them. Her ability to assess a dog's needs and adjust her training approach accordingly is remarkable. It gave me confidence knowing that every challenge Jemma presented was met with patience, knowledge, and a solution. Anna goes above and beyond to set dogs up for success. But just as importantly, she teaches owners how to maintain that success. She showed me how to be the leader Jemma needed and gave me the tools and confidence to continue building on everything she taught us. And did I mention she has the cleanest kennels I've ever seen? WOW. My experience exceeded every expectation I had. If you're struggling with your dog and feeling hopeless, don't wait as long as I did. Call Anna. It may be one of the best decisions you'll ever make--for both you and your dog. Wish I could give 10 stars!

Anna takes a no-nonsense, individualized approach to training and will do whatever it takes to help you train your dog. I've learned so much in a short time. My main goal for training was safety. We live on an acreage on a busy road, and my top priority was off leash control so i can keep my pup safe and give him a long healthy life. We set our foundation in class, and then with one private lesson, we transitioned to off leash control. I've had many dogs, but this is the first dog I've trained with Anna, and this is the first time I've had a dog heel on either loose leash or no leash! And his recall is better than I've ever had which is key on this farm! I'm thrilled with my results and would recommend her to anyone needing help training their dog! I should mention she's very affordable and fair, as well, and worth every penny!

This large facility has either 3 or 4 large (rectangular) rings with a different class being given in each. There are a few daytime classes, but most are in the evening. All of the instructors are dedicated, experienced, and knowledgeable volunteers who must love working with all breeds of dogs and their owner/handlers, as evidenced by their patience and understanding of the many dog training challenges. My dog also took basic obedience and the Canine Good Citizenship class which upon completion, he and 6 of the 7 the other dogs in the class passed on test day. My only criticism of this class is that we trained with treats the whole time, but the class before the test, we were told treats were not allowed by the AKC certified tester. (If we were told before, I must have been in denial.) This made a huge difference in my dog's willingness to listen to my commands once he realized there wasn't going to be any "pay/reward". I worked with him the week before the test giving him treats randomly as the instructor had suggested, but I feel that transition could and should have been emphasized and practiced more during the previous classes. DMOTC is still a terrific place for a wide variety of classes for your dog and I plan to continue taking my dog to their classes. They are also more affordable than other private for-profit dog training schools. We are lucky to have this established club in our community.

We decided to try DMOTC because it was closer than our previous trainer- Rover's Ranch. Signed up for puppy class. What a waste of time. Not only will you spend 45 minutes trying to listen to someone read a page of information to you, with two other classes going on at the same time, but she will only pause briefly periodically to let you try something occasionally with your dog. Useful things for good dog behavior like scooting their butt back while in down position or doing high fives (versus walking on a leash or good solid recalls) There is absolutely no socializing of your puppy with any of the other puppies in the class. One woman had a puppy that had not been around other dogs. It was trying to play, but no one was allowed to let dogs off leashes and people were encouraged to leave as soon as class was over. No playing-little, if any, interaction between people and other dogs or any actual skills the dog might need. We stopped going as it wasn't worth the time. If you are new to owning a dog or want your puppy to have experience with other dogs, save your money and look elsewhere.

Sue, the Owner of In Home Pet Care is very passionate about her craft. What pleases me the most is that she is patient and truly listens to your concerns and instructions about grooming your pet. Its currently off Army Post, but when I started going to Sue the shop was just a small little place off of SW 9th right next door to Andy's Place. Their prices are very reasonable! I asked her to style my pup's hair a certain way and requested to use specific ribbon colors. It was my very first time taking my pup in, so she took me on a little tour of her "pet salon" - I loved that level of transparency! A lot of bad or shady groomers don't bother showing you the behind-the-scenes of their facility. She also allowed me to look @ her ribbon selection so I can choose what would best match my pups outfit....yes, I am one of those people dresses their dog!
