Even though our family was pretty social, she was never part of our social life. When people came over, we put her in a locked room. She rarely went in the car anyplace, and going to the vet was a nightmare. Last summer, I turned Aubrey's world upside down. I got married and moved into a new house. This household included another dog and a special needs 26 year old. The first few weeks were stressful. Aubrey was very anxious and my stepson did not read her cues. There were a few bite incidents and nobody could relax. I didn't know what to do and thought I would have to surrender my dog. I looked online and saw Kasten's Dog Training, which I knew to be close to my new house in Elkhart. I truly doubted that anyone could help my six year old dog. I called and scheduled an online interview. I remember feeling very optimistic after that first phone call. Right away, I felt like there was someone who understood what we were going through, and was going to help me keep my dog. I had nothing much to lose, so I signed her up! Aubrey participated in Program 5- Behavioral Modification for Aggressive Dogs and Dogs with a Bite History. She spent 21 days at Kasten's split into two sessions. After the first 9 days, I came to pick her up and immediately noticed a difference in her demeanor. She completed the second half of her training right before Christmas. When my son came home college, he was shocked to see how much better she was behaving. She had a new confidence and was no longer so anxious. She was a treat to take on walks and we didn't have to worry about her darting out the door anytime it opened. We have taken Aubrey to Kasten's for boarding several times in the past year. Being able to board her, and know she is safe, has been such a blessing. The fact that she was receiving refreshers as she stayed there was an added bonus. Before coming to Kasten's, I never would have even thought that I could board her anywhere. The trainers at Kasten's were so helpful and did such a great job with Aubrey. They worked tirelessly with her, and I could see the extra effort that they put in to get her to feel more comfortable, and eventually enjoy training sessions. Kasten's Dog Training has improved our family's life. We can now enjoy our active social lives and include Aubrey. She jumps happily into her kennel when told, walks on a leash like a show dog and even goes on trips to the hardware store several times a month. She and my stepson have a mutual understanding, and both of them feel much safer around each other. Making that phone call to Kasten's was truly one of the best decisions that I have ever made. Thank you to everyone at Kasten's - you have made such a difference in our lives!

After the first time they were groomed by Tracy, I never went anywhere else. She gives them back to me looking perfect and completely happy. In the past, I used to feel guilty trying to coach them inside the salon. When we arrive at Hoosier Doggie they are anxious to get inside, a big clue to me that they love being there. I've moved around a bit and now travel 50 miles each way to get my dogs groomed at Hoosier Doggie because I don't trust anyone to be as good or as caring as Tracy.

Late review since we just learned they changed management a while back…read more We thought this was a good daycare for our dog after a few trial days so we bought a package, but upon first day of the package they said our dog wasn't getting along with another dog (so what happened the first 2 days?) --so we took her out. I guess they let all 30 dogs go out to play at the same time with no separation of bigger /smaller dogs. I asked to transfer the package to my 2nd dog who was a puppy and not neutered yet and was waiting until they were 2 years as recommended, - they said it's fine and I can use it whenever...but when new management took over they didn't notify us through email or anything that packages expire. So now we just wasted a few hundred for nothing because they won't honor it. Crappy new management who won't work with their customer- you could have earned more money in the future if you actually tried to meet in the middle with a solution. They wanted me to buy more services- NO THANKS.

They seem like they don't have any compassion. I thought maybe they were having a bad day so I tried to be light hearted and nice... they were still so rude and acted very cold. My dog (Pomsky a little over a year old at the time) has issues with aggression primarily when he's sleeping and some resource guarding habits. This developed after having a cyst on his head. When we brought him in to get it looked at and for his shots, the doctor and assistant, knowing his issues, brought him into the back? I've always been in the room while they've given him shots and he's done amazingly. It's because of the pain he was in that he wasn't friendly. They reported the bite, understandably, but couldn't it have been avoided if they had just NOT taken a dog with aggression away from its owner? They told us we had a to do the "chill protocol" which basically means we brought him back the next day and gave him some melatonin and pain medicine before bringing him in. He was very distraught and confused, I understand why they wanted to do it, but it just left him a lot more scared of everything than he needed to be. They cleaned and drained the cyst as much as possible but they also created severe anxiety for him and he will probably hate every vet I take him too. I'm going to bring treats and see if we can make it positive again. I do NOT recommend coming here at all. Not to mention they charged me almost $1000 for the two visits?! We didn't even have the cyst removed (couldn't afford it). That's ridiculous. The cyst is back now and he just turned two as well so we are going to go get his shots done and schedule a surgery for removal. I will NEVER step foot in this place again.

Perfect example of why...I just went into Kryder to register my pets in St Joseph Count because the Humane Society website says you can to do it at ANY vet. Kryder followed this guidance and did it last year since my vet is in Michigan. The attendant looked at me like it was an imposition since I wasn't a customer. This IS exactly why I took my pets elsewhere...increasing prices, limited hours and waning customer service.

This woman owes me an apology and needs to be educated on how to speak to people in a respectful manner. I have never stolen anything nor do I need to. I walked over with my family to look at the roaches because last time I was in another staff member and I were discussing how to breed the bugs. At that time there was one container of very large adult roaches that would be perfect. I simply looked and it appears they were gone. How unfortunate to not only state an incorrect weight but to imply that our dog is overweight is so unprofessional. What has changed over the year or so we've been taking him? And they're relaying this information as his nail is badly bleeding from them clipping it too low. We have never received any feedback or concerns with Bear until today when we were told they're done grooming him. He is a Great Pyrenees, which is a very large dog. His back aligns with my hip when standing next to me. What changed over all these months? No warnings, no feedback...just attempts at fat shaming. Guess what Gordon's..you guys aren't a vet. You guys are rude, unprofessional, and just downright wrong.

They blocked me on FB, not a good sign of them taking responsibility at the end of the day. I'm pretty sure B&B is ghosting me.
