My dog, Bentley is a regular at this PetSmart grooming salon and has been groomed here many times without issue. Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, he was handled by a new groomer who has never worked on him before and ignored his grooming history along with specified service notes. This groomer gave him a horrendous haircut with shaved ears down to the skin - completely unlike his usual groom and clearly inconsistent with prior grooming notes. While there was no physical injury, the result was distressing, unacceptable, shows a lack of care, and reflects poor training, or supervision. This was not a simple "bad haircut" -- it was negligent grooming. I have documented the condition of my dog and reported this to store management and corporate. I strongly caution other pet parents and hope PetSmart takes accountability and improves oversight of groomers. Ana is my go-to groomer at the PetSmart near Montgomery Plaza in Fort Worth. She smiles, works hard, and does a wonderful job with my three pups. I only book with her! And I confirm appointments with her to be sure she will be there! I am curious about the billing system that never seems to charge the same amount for the same services. Sometimes there is a random charge, like today, for $10.00 for hair services on one of the pups. When I questioned the charge, she said that the pup was part poodle. All three are part poodle. Inconsistency in billing won't keep me from returning, though. Must admit it is curious. read more

This is a one stop shop for all my pet needs. I love that they also have a groomer and a pet hospital on site, so I can get all my dog's needs sorted in one trip. It was clean and well organized when I went on a Friday around 6:00 pm. I did a drop-in nail trim for my dog and it was very quick and easy. My dog is nervous about nail trims, but they did a great job at making him feel at ease. It is really affordable too - especially with their Yappy Hour specials. The big downside to me was the wall of betta fish. They're beautiful, but many of them were floating dead in their cups. The display is right in the front of the store, so it is one of the first things you see. It was really sad to see and not a good look for PetSmart. read more

I have went there twice and another location prior. Did a good job when it came down to it. However, I didn't check my baby's dewclaws for trimming when paid for the nail trimming service. I should have never assumed they were getting these done too. They were NOT. So one of my baby's dewclaws grew into her paw pad. I had to take her in to Banfield to get it cut out and the infection drained, not to mention now she has to take for pain and infection meds. So if you're getting the nail trimming service please check the dewclaws before you take your baby home. read more

I placed order online with PetSmart.com at noon for 3 items and delivery was supposed to be between 3-6pm 3/20 and it's now 7pm. I called PetSmart customer service and was told that Doordash hasn't even picked up the order because PetSmart hasn't picked the order yet. Costumer service is unable to can't the order but called the store to tell them I would pick up my order. I called the store to ask what the delay was, the associate didn't have a response and places the manager on the phone. The manager said she was just getting in and would pick the order, which is 3 items, and then statd if I wanna hop in my little car and come pick it up I could. Both the associate and the manager were quite rude and this entire ordering experience is completely inconvenient! Alright let me start by saying I understand it's a tough year on all of us, and I'm not a person to leave a bad review for no reason. We ordered some cat food for pick up, the first time i arrived and informed Petsmart that I'm outside waiting, it took them 30 minutes before giving me my order. I didn't say anything because there were some people walking in and out of Persmart and there was another car parked behind me waiting for their order as well. Frustrating but it's ok. Today we ordered the same thing and I let them know that I'm outside, this time they weren't busy at all, there were no cars parked outside waiting for their order. It's ok I'm on my phone watching videos.... 35 minutes pass by and that's when I decided to go in and ask for my order. The cashier who was on her phone asked me if I needed any help. I told her yes im here for an order pickup (the store was empty) she called another worker who came and opened the back cabinet and handed me my order. It's been sitting in the cabinet this while time; while I'm parked outside. No one tried to apologize for not doing their job and taking care of their customers. Awful experience. read more

Cheaper than Petco!! I don't usually shop around for prices...shame on me! We always buy Science Diet for our French Mastiff, nothing but the best for her. It was $5 cheaper at PetSmart than at Petco. In my defense I shop what is closest to me and that would be Petco. Upon trying to expand my family I received an email from Pet Adoption that this PetSmart was having a special adoption showing today. Already with my genetic plan in mind and two prospects, JoJo and Annie, I was ready to give birth. The only problem was the adoptive father wasn't on board with my choices....as if that really was a problem. Just added the special note to humor you a bit. ((lol)) I most always get my way and besides it's a late V-Day gift. Turns out JoJo wasn't a match but was awfully perky cute and was replaced with Bonnie...a little doll. And Annie was my little special princess with lots of affection. Now I'm going to do the process and hopefully my family addition will be complete with Annie or Bonnie. Do not go here to get your dog groomed ever. I have had multiple problems but kept giving them more chances. I will never be taking my two dogs back there ever again. The first incident I got there at 7 when it was suppose to open no one arrived until 715.. then the groomer for my dog wasn't even getting there until 830. So my dog was going to sit in the crate for 1.5 hour.the second time on my maltipoo they weren't going accept him unless they SHAVED him. You do not shave a maltipoo... she said he had too many mats which is untrue bc I ended up taking him home & grooming him myself & he had ZERO mats! They were being lazy bc it was an evening apt and they knew he was going to take longer. She asked my dogs groomer "Kevin" if he wanted to feel him and he just looked at him and said yep I'll have to shave him. So rude & unprofessional. read more

So many of the employees here remember my dog and I and greet by name and with a smile. We are regulars here, and they always have what we need, are always ready with a useful recommendation, and have never been a disappointment. When a line is long, someone immediately opens another, when I'm not sure what I need, someone can help, or find another employee who knows ever more and have them help. Brenda, the trainer, is the most caring, helpful employee I've encountered in a retail store. She helped me when I was getting ready for a new dog, and did a great job training us (I needed training, too!) in training classes. read more

One star because there is no zero. I've been buying food and treats from them for 15 years and have used them for grooming 3 times in the last 3 years. This was the 3rd. Corporate did reach out to me but wanted my phone number. They already have it plus my email and facebook. They do not want to talk to me on the phone right now! I call back and it's the groomer telling me he has mats under his tail and she will need to cut a little closer. Fine, just do it. I decide I'll take a little nap because this is going to take some time. Just start to nod off and the phone rings again. It's the groomer again telling me Boo won't behave and I need to come get him. They can't finish what they started and they won't charge me. I say I understand. He's old as dirt and can be stubborn sometime plus he was at the vet earlier today. I know I was tired from it all so he must have been smooth wore out. I get there and I'm thinking all they did was bathe him and maybe just tried to start cutting. They were damn near done!!!!!!! What the hell!!!!! They didn't charge me and they were very apologetic about it all but damn! They could of at lest dried him off (he was soaking wet) I asked "so with his age I guess he can't be groomed anymore?" They answered that it would be better to do it at the vets office where they can keep an eye on him. So I asked "then why did I sign that paper saying that if anything goes wrong you will take him next door to the in house vet and I'll be charged" They had no answer. I made an appointment with the vet for Monday but I'm thinking I might try and even this out myself. They already did the bulk of the work. Everyone we have interacted with at this Petsmart and Banfield have been caring, helpful and kind. Today Katy in the grooming salon trimmed the nails on our newly adopted senior chihuahua girl. She was gentle and did a great job and we watched her and the others in the grooming salon as they checked dogs in and out for services. Although busy, they all clearly cared about their jobs and cared for the pets they were entrusted with. That's so important! Great job everyone! read more

Do not bring your dog to this Petsmart, I told them yesterday I would never be back. The first time I brought my rescued Corgi here for a shave because of the heat, they did a fantastic job. He was so cute. The second time was horrible, they'd shaved him down to bare skin yet didn't touch his paw pads. Yesterday, giving them another chance, I went into detail about the pads, the kind of shave I wanted. I showed her a photo, told her the one I wanted which was the first. She wasn't even listening to me. She asked what shampoo I wanted and never told me the one she suggested would be an additional $17. When I picked him up, she'd shaved him almost as much as the last time. Hadn't even cared what I asked for. I saw the extra charge and told them to take it off and complained about the shave. They all gathered in a circle around me trying to make excuses and asked me to tell the manager. I told them I didn't need to keep explaining and I was done, I will never go back. I don't know where they get groomers from, but they can keep them. read more

I have been using this location for many many years for pet training, banfield pet health plans, grooming, and all of my pet's necessities. Normally, I get good service, but after what happened to one of my babies I'm not sure I can ever go back. I brought my miniature dachshund in for her training class and afterwards I decided to get her nails trimmed. Everything seemed fine, until I got home and noticed she was bleeding from her stomach. To say I was livid is an understatement. The groomer, who's name I believe is Rebecca (don't quote me on this, many names were tossed around when I called the store. She had long brown hair, glasses, and probably in her 40s) had cut her tummy with the dremel tool they use to grind nails. There is NO WAY she did not notice what she had done, and yet she handed her to me and sent me on my way without a word. I understand mistakes happen, but to make a mistake of this magnitude and not tell the owner is just wrong. This store has completely lost my business bc of this employees actions and the way the situation was inappropriately handled. read more

I adopted my dog a few months ago, and was as clueless as a new dog owner can get. I wanted to make sure we were prepared before we brought our Tommy home, so I stopped by my neighborhood Petsmart and tried to play it cool and not ask for help. I quickly realized I had no idea what size collar to get, which brand of food to buy, or what kind of toys to give a puppy--overwhelmed doesn't describe the state of panic I found myself in! A sales associate noticed me looking lost and frazzled, and when she realized I was bringing a new puppy home she immediately connected me to the store's dog trainer. Bren spent an entire hour walking through the store with me and helped me select items for my new pup, all the while telling me pros and cons for each product and letting me decide what I thought was best (in no way did I feel pressured to select a certain brand or spend too much money). I don't know what I would have done without her, and am so grateful for the time she and other associates spent making sure I was prepared! It was absolutely a no-brainer to sign my little buddy up for classes at the store, especially after my experience with Bren, and am soooo glad I did! Petsmart offers different levels of training classes, from Puppy to Advanced, and at $109 for 6 weeks I found them to be very affordable. We took Tommy in every Saturday for almost two months, and it was a wonderful opportunity for him to socialize with other dogs, learn tons of tricks (I die of cuteness every time he busts out a shake, or lays down on command), and try new treats (Bren always brought different treats every week so our dogs could find something they liked). I recommend the Petsmart Training classes to any dog owner, whether you have a puppy or adult dog, and if you can make it over to this location and work with Bren that's even better! As any dog owner knows, leaving your pup in the car when you have to run errands can be a hassle, which is why I love that you're not only welcome to bring your dog into this location, but the sales associates will give your dogs treats too! As soon as we get to the cash register, Tommy sits in anticipation of some goodies. There's also a poop bag station in the parking lot, right in front of the store, in case of any accidents--they've really thought of everything! Listen, I'm going to be the first to say we should support local businesses, but at this point I don't want to go anywhere else. PetSmart has done it right. read more

This grooming OVERBOOKS their salon and cancels on you last minute. I had an apt for after work, sets days in advance, and I receive a call that morning saying they booked it by accident and had two other large dogs that took priority over my 8lb dog. This is the SECOND time it happened. I called corporate, no help. I called their complaint line, no help. Finally I called the store and spoke to the store manager. She was extremely nice, however no help with getting my dog in at the time I needed. I ended up have to leave work early to get my dog their an hour earlier than the original at time or they had refused to groom my dog. Well, I arrive and so does one of the large dogs that's booked for grooming. THE GROOMER SENDS AWAY THE LARGE DOG BC SHE COULDNT FINISH THIS DOG IN 4 hours even if it was the only dog she had on the books. Well, WHY DID YOU GUYS BOOK THE APT IN THE FIRST PLACE?! Also, if they were going to Cancel on this dog anyways, why was my apt being cancelled? And why couldn't I take my dog in at my scheduled apt time when he wasn't even started until later than the apt! I ONLY got my dog groomed here that day bc I needed him done and it was too late to schedule at a different salon. Needless to say, petsmart lost two customers that day because the owner of the large dog was livid and said he would not be booking there again and neither will I. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE TO BE GROOMED. While I was waiting for my dog, I saw a dog with a bloody foot being walked out by one of the groomers. As for my experience, it was terrible. I had requested the bath package. My dog's nails were not trimmed and scissoring feet and pad shaving had not been done . I asked to see the manager who was disinterested and never offered an apology. Another groomer trimmed by dogs nails and cleaned the fur around them. This was a sloppy job. When I said that a new groomer should be supervised, another employee piped up and said they were too busy to do that. Although my dog was there for 3 hours, it was obvious that she had not been offered any water. All in all,the staff was very rude and not well trained. read more

Just no. The grooming service at the Montgomery plaza location is a joke. I usually take my Maltese/terrier to get groomed at the Bryant Irvin location, but have since moved and the Montgomery plaza one is closer. I was pretty hesitant to take her there, but thought how different could it be? First off- they have no idea what a teddy bear face is. The hair around her face is cut so short. Too short. Secondly- the hair on her body is incredibly choppy. It's different lengths all over and incredibly annoying. Third- Her nails. I paid for the top dog nail grinding and they BARELY even touched her nails. I called to see if I could come back in and "Ciara" just put me on hold until eventually another employee picked up. I cannot remember this employees name, but as I was trying to explain to her the situation she talked over me and just said the nails would bleed if they did them any shorter. This is all so frustrating. I am aware that dogs nails will bleed if too short, but the nails have barely been touched! I pay so much money for my dog to get groomed. For it to not be done correctly is so disappointing. Thank you to the Bryant Irvin grooming for listening to me and booking me ASAP to fix her nails. With all of this being said.. I get my dog shaved every summer at a Petsmart and never have had any problems. I moved to Fort Worth so this was my first time at this Petsmart Grooming. I paid the extra $17 dollars for the top dog package which comes with teeth brushing, nail trim and grinding, bandana or bow, a spritz spray, etc. The works. I picked the 7AM appointment so my dog, a lab mix, would get in early and out early. When I arrived at Petsmart, no one was there for the 7AM drop off. I had to wait 15 minutes until the groomer (Kevin) showed up. I had to wait until the computers were booted up and my dog was checked in. I don't think I left until 7:30AM. He said she would be done in 3-4 hours. I was out running errands and noticed it was around 10:30. I decided to go check and see if she was done since I was near the Petsmart. When I got there, the groomer said she might still be a little wet. At this point, she had been there for 3 and a half hours. This is concerning since the only hair she really had left was on her head, legs/feet, and tail. It makes me wonder what time they actually started working on her. In addition to her being wet, they did not brush her teeth, give her a bandana or bow, or the spritz spray I requested and paid for. When I called the next day to make sure I wasn't losing my mind, I was told that I needed to remind the groomer of this stuff. They offered to have her come back in so she could get her teeth brushed, get a bandana and the spritz. I told them that it is not necessary to bring her back in for that nor do I have time to do that. She did not offer me any discounts and was very apathetic to the situation. I picked this Petsmart because it is close to where I live. In the future, I will not be bringing my dog to this Petsmart. I was very disappointed in how my dog and I were treated here. My experience with PetSmart grooming is to find a location and one experienced groomer and stick with them. I once took my long hair Pekingese dog to this location and they returned my dog with the shortest haircut he's ever had, I was in shock when they gave me my dog back with short hair and they thought it was the proper cut for him. I have since found another PetSmart location and specific groomer who does a great job. The groomers at PetSmart are not always the most experienced. Like I say find a good location and an experienced groomer and PetSmart is a good deal. read more
