I found this place to wash our dog after realizing the bathtub wasn't going to cut it, and we don't have a backyard to wash him. Now as a disclaimer, our dog is a 100lb dog, 2.5 feet tall from his feet to the top of his back, and almost 5 feet long. He is a long, big, and awkward dog, especially when it comes to bath time. He tries to run away, until he finally surrenders once you get him in the tub. This makes it impossible to bathe him at home. On top of that, full grooming from other places is just too expensive to do every 6 weeks. Metro Animals Pet Wash is such a convenient, money saving option between full grooming sessions, or even in place of them! I still prefer to take my dog every few months for a full grooming session (minus a haircut) but having a place to easily bathe him in between is amazing. At Metro, too bathe our dog it costs $25, and it includes shampoo, conditioner, drying, nail clippers, ear cleaner, hairbrushes, breath spray, and a nice scented spray. I could not ask for anything better, in a giant tub, and a way to wrangle him and keep him in one place. Plus, they have treats for sale at the front to reward your dog for being great during bath time! On top of this, the staff is always so kind and helpful, as well as receptive to any and all questions. My husband and I were nervous to cut his nails as we had never done it, but she walked us through how to cut them and from there we were golden. We LOVED Metro Pets! our doggy went at least 3 days a week. One day I picked him up, brought him home and found two HUGE puncture wounds on him. I had to bring him to the doctor, get an antibiotic and luckily he didn't need stitches. I called to tell them and they said they didn't know what happened and told me that they would get back to me after investigating and never did. Like I said, he went at least 3 days a week, knew him by name and he was so excited every time we pulled up. The way they handled the situation, didn't know what happened and never got back to me, was wrong and not how you conduct business. Was no one outside with them? They were HUGE bite marks. Now my doggy doesn't like bigger dogs and has a problem with dogs in general. It completely tramatized him and he is different which upsets me to no end because he was great with everybody. I worked to have him comfortable with all sizes of dogs and now he doesn't even like to be around them. I would not recommend this place. read more

Never take your dog here for services!!! I took my 16 year old dog To get her nails trimmed and they had her back there for almost 30 minutes before I said, where is my dog??!! I knocked on the door and no one answered, even though they had three people waiting to check in. Olivia finally came to the door and I asked what was wrong and she said nothing and went back in, leaving the other customers to wait. I finally went through the door and demanded my dog and the girl cutting her nails said Olivia was training on my dog! I was never asked if an inexperienced person could do that! My dog was trembling and upset in the choke hold device they put them in. I will never be back! read more

Had an AMAZING experience today! We always take our mini Australian Shepard in for the "self-wash" but we have been looking for a groomer and we had an experience that exceeded our expectations! I don't recommend this grooming place. I took my 7 months old puppy and they burned his testicals while shaving him. Also the groomer cut his skin on the paw deeply. My dog was behaving absolutely differently after I picked him up. He was stressed and kind of tense. I thought it was because of the whole grooming service and me leaving him in this place. However, when we went for a walk later I noticed that he was walking differently and slower than usual. So I picked him up to check his paws but instead I noticed very pinky testicals that became reddish. When I contacted this place and sent the pictures of his burnt testicals they even didn't apologize, only offered 50% from the service they charged plus the tips I left. My dog is in pain for the last three days. And I am absolutely sad to see his pain. I took him to the vet and after exam and blood test he made conclusion that this happen because of razor burn. I sent all this information to the management of this place and they replied "they are sorry Winston's testicals got irritated" but they didn't take responsibility for this and refused to compensate the vet's appointment and refund the rest of my payment for the "grooming service" ( in reality it was butcher's service!!!) Please avoid this place. To the manager's reply: My dog was not happy with the service. He was stressed and tense. Check your videos again and you will see how he scratched my arms and he didn't behave as he does as usually. He never scratched my arms or hands before. As usually Winston is very soft and gentle when he is held on arms. Also when he sees me he always jumps and wiggles his tail, but he didn't do that this time. I just thought he was stressed from the environment. My mistake was I didn't understand what was going with my puppy and it was my huge mistake not to check him right there and see if he was injured (which he was injured at your place by your butchers.) and yes I was your loyal customer but after your emails you sent me telling my puppy had severe matting before I brought him (I have pictures and videos of him before I took to your place and I have many witnesses who saw him before and everyone is shocked by your lies ) and that he was happy with your service. No he wasn't he was in horrible pain from burnt testicals. (btw how did you make this decision that he was happy with the service: did you ask him and he said yes????"). I didn't say "bye" yet. I want your place to take responsibility and I will find the ways to make it happen. Thanks God we are in the USA where consumers can protect their rights. read more

If you can get past the bungling front desk -whether phone call or in person, constantly being told "well I'm not good at computers I'm just a groomer" and "have u been here before ?" after your tenth visit, then you might do ok. Public service announcement: you will not be notified ahead of charging your card if any rate increases. Small dogs now cost $54 with tax when before it was under $50. This place sucks. If there was a zero star option then I would give it a zero. They won't groom dogs in accordance with the paying owner's requests. They only groom in a manner that is easiest for the groomers. I get it; it is a low-end, volume incented discount dog groomer. Spend a little extra and take your dog elsewhere. This place truly sucks and you do not want your pet butchered into looking like shit. Two days ago, I rescued an abandoned dog who badly needed some love and a thorough bathing. It was a last minute thing and Metro was the only pet wash open. So thank you for having longer hours than everyone else! Even though I arrived too late for a staff bath, they made an exception for me after hearing what this poor dog had been through. The kindness and HUGE generosity they showed me that day will never go unforgotten. These people aren't just in it for a paycheck, they actually LOVE and care for canines. And it shows in their detailed work. The pup had rolled in sewage, while looking for water and I wasn't able to get her fully clean myself. But the pros here at Metro did the job 110%. She smelled good and her coat was completely clean and shiny. And, it was the best nail trim job I've ever seen. Another place used clippers on one of my past rescue dogs and made her bleed. First let me say they did a good job on the hair cut, but the first time I took my dog there he came back with an ear infection, I took him to the vet and they said it's common. So cool, I booked another appointment and he comes back sneezing a lot and his balls are super red. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but clearly they are doing something wrong. This place is such a great addition to the area. Right next door is our fave dog park where our pup gets absolutely disgusting to be honest.
