This Petsmart is okay if you just need to grab something quick. I've been to this location several times now, but nothing about this establishment has blown me away. The checkout always takes a long time. It always seems like they only have one cash register open for checkout, which I find to be odd. In addition, the store does not feel the cleanest. Whenever I walk through the dry dog food aisle, I am always welcomed by many moths fluttering around. The one good thing about this PetSmart is their emergency clinic in the back. Brought my fur baby yesterday for a quick bath and trim. They did exactly what I asked and nothing more which I love. I was terrified to come back to a different pup the pricing was very good, along with the service. I was a bit annoyed with the lady. She tried to tell me that my dog is not the breed that she is. I'd understand if I got my dog from the shelter or off the street, but she was given to me by my father, whom owns both the mother and the father of my pup. Bought my dog to this Petsmart to get groomed. He normally gets a wash, cut and nails grinded. Booked for a 1:00 pm appt. Arrived at 12:40. No one was in the groomers area. So we waited for someone to come. They finally arrived. They took my dog to back and indicated that they will call me when ready. Well it's been over 4-1/2 hours and no call. Finally I called and asked is he ready and they indicated that he was not. He was drying on the back. They will call back when ready. Now it's 5-1/2 hours and still no call. So we decide to just go over there and get our dog. They just happen to call us when we are literally 2 mins away from the place. We asked why is it that we have a scheduled appt and it takes 5-6 hours for a dog to get a hair cut. They said they are understaffed and have appts before us. We asked if we had an appt then what was the problem with not getting groomed at the appro? We get being behind and if that's the case then why not call and reschedule or ask to come later as an option. The business solution they gave us is that they have a jump the line service for an additional $15. So we jump ahead of all the other dogs that are there before us? What's the point with having an appt in the first place? Don't take your dog if you want it crated for hours on end and not walked and who knows if they have access to water. We were a little bummed with this location as they didn't have any of the normal animals - birds, mice, cats, etc. They do have all the normal merch like food, toys, accessories. We didn't encounter any staff during our visit, so I can't speak to that, but they did have a cashier upfront checking out customers. They are NOT enforcing masks here. Yesterday I had an appointment at PetSmart on Narcoossee Rd with Kae C for a full grooming session for my 8-month-old goldendoodle. I have to say that Kae C is the worst groomer I have ever dealt with. My wife and I spent 10 minutes or so explaining what we wanted and stressing to her what we absolutely did not want. Left our dog for 4 hours and came back when called and the groomer Kae C just shaved the dog. Did not clean the ears (second time happens with her), facial hair (what's left of it) was cut uneven, his skin around his private parts was lacerated, nails were cut uneven and not filed. WOW! I would fire her in a heartbeat if she worked for me. Do not use her as you will regret it!!!! Horrible service by her. We have no issues with other groomers and store in general at the location. She is the opposite of a great groomer. Beware of Kea C1!!! read more

This place gets zero stars for caring for pets in my opinion! As most of you already know, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando suffered a horrific tragedy last night. The Sanford location was taking in the survivors from Orlando and was asking for wet cat food and blankets. I called this location and asked to speak to the manager and was connected to a guy they said could help me. I asked if we could put a box out for people to donate in the store for the shelter. He said he could not do this without his managers approval. I asked for the manager and she is on vacation until next week. Wow! I really hope nothing happens at this store that needs immediate attention. Way to train and empower your employees. So much for caring about animals! I tried to call corporate and spoke to two very nice ladies that were no help and since the phone system kept reconnecting me to the same location, I gave up. What happened to common sense. This was the same place that when I called and asked if they had a pet chip scanner when a lost dog was found on the road on a Friday evening after 6 told me to call animal services. Three strikes and your out! I will never books grooming appointment here again. This is not about the first two strikes, it's about the last. So I booked a wash and full cut and added nail grinding services for an extra $15. Not only were the groomers "unavailable" to remove knots, the groomer called me and said she would have to cut off all of my puppies hair. I said that was fine. Normally that would not be a problem. I feel the groomer just ain't know what she was doing. I picked up my puppy and paid for my services. I had to come back the next day because her nails were not grinded. Instead of the groomer calling me to let me know she was unable to grind her nails, she instead charged "special" services. So the next day I had to pay an extra $20 for grinding her nails which total cost for grooming was $95 for a puppy. The groomers there are incompetent. I will never take my puppy there again. They cut off all her hair, including her tail. My puppy looks horrible NEVER AGAIN!! read more

Natalie and another groomer were able to hold him, keep him as calm as possible and he walked away with a new pedicure. I will start off by saying that I don't frequent pet shops. Mostly because I hate seeing animals being sold plus I hate that they're seen as nothing more than merchandise that can be replaced. Anyway, that's another story for another day! However, if I did have to go to a pet store to get last minute pet supplies or food or whatever I needed that won't ship in time, this is a great place to stop by. This store was very clean and very organized. The girl at the register who helped us, Mary I think her name was, was super sweet and very kind. I did noticed that they had a LARGE selection of food, toys, supplies and anything else you may need. The store also has a grooming area and a vet inside, so that was pretty cool. You can literally have a whole day for you and your furry friend at this place. Get them groomed, checked up and buy them treats for being excellent. They do have sales if you're part of their rewards program--that's really cool. Make sure you sign up for that. While walking into the store, there was signs stating you must wear a mask, which I appreciate due to my medical health and what's going on with this virus. Sadly I was met with many guest not wearing a mask. Even a customer with no mask came close to us and showed no care during this pandemic. Walked in yesterday with our one-year-old and three-year-old full of excitement for our first family fish. Upon walking to the back of the store where the fish are displayed, an associate with blue hair showed up shortly and advised that we needed a tank that was conditioned already before getting a fish unless it was a betta (stating anything other than would not survive.) Which was useful information as this was our first time purchasing a pet fish, but we noticed immediately that her tone was not very friendly... not too much of a big deal but shortly after, my very curious, polite, and friendly 3 year old went near where the associate was moving some things around (still in the fish section) and said "hi" a couple of times without any acknowledgement... she then said, "wow, what's that?" Pointing to one of the exposed shelves. The associate replies "that's the trash," and just looked away. My daughter was clearly pointing at a food container that was on the shelf... I immediately intervened and explained about the container to my daughter as I could tell she was confused about the awkward interaction. When that happened my husband and I looked at each other and knew it was time to go. She totally ruined our vibe. I thought this was important to share because reality is a that we all have "off" days and can't always be the most amazing person to everyone, but there is a certain sensitivity that should always remain, especially in a customer service setting, and especially with children. Let it be known, we were only there about 5-10 min - my kids were not being disruptive or rude; just looking at the fish tanks - and that's all it took to ruin a family moment we were looking forward to all day. This location is in a larger shopping center next to an Academy sports and a Party City. Staff has always been nice, polite and pleasant on the occasions I have been here. Again, good selection of most items you are looking for. Everyone is always willing to help find what you are looking for. They offer grooming services and vet services. They also have cats and kittens for adoption for a resonable fee. I have more than once thought about coming home with a kitten. Sydney was EXTREMELY rude when I visited this location. I had an appointment and as I walked in the salon, I was not greeted. I expressed that I had a 3:30pm appointment and she looked up the appointment - left me standing there, turned her back and assisted another employee with a dog. She didn't bother to say "we be right with you" or NOTHING just turned her back and left me standing there. Another associate informed me that the person who was grooming my dog was at lunch and will be back shortly. Sydney could have said the same thing to me. I saw Sydney as I was leaving the store and I expressed to her that I felt she was rude for disregarding me and leaving me and my dog standing, she just looked at me and said OK. Be very careful when adopting a pet here! I adopted a guinea pig, who got sick two days after, so i had to bring him back to get seen by the vet. After being told over and over that he was on medication and doing good, i called the day i was supposed to pick him up again, and they said they had to put him down. Apparently, he had had pnemonia and on medication since before i got him, and they never bothered to tell me anything. Stay away from grooming... at first I was pleased with the way the groomed my dog but after a while I started noticing that they would find 2/3 knots in places like near his butt and under the ears and instead of just shaving down those parts they would shave them down completely. It doesn't matter what you say they say they will try but will shave them down anyways... it's really annoying because when they want to they do a good job but mostly they just want to shave them down and save that time. I have taken my dog to this location for a few years to be groomed, normally with great results. The last time I took him, after 3.5 hours I returned to the store because I had not heard back from them. When I walked in and asked about my dog, by name, they legitimately had no idea what I was talking about. No one had any recollection of dealing with my pup and, after checking in the back, they came out to tell me that his groomer left mid-wash and they had forgotten about him so "the dog" is still wet. They told me they would have his service done in 30 min, which I found strange because I paid for a full groom and 45 min de-shedding service. At this point, my dog had been sitting in the back, wet, cold, and alone, for 3 hours. They ended up "completing" the service in 15 minutes and charging me full price. I spoke with the manager on duty and the only discount he would give me was 10% off. I e-mailed PetSmart because I was upset that after being neglected and not fully serviced, I was still charged $75 and given no sort of apology. I wish I could give no stars. I have been to many Petsmarts before, but none with service as poorly as this one. We went inside to buy my daughter two hermit crabs. The first two she picked were dead, so we went with the only other two available. We get in the car and before we can leave the parking lot she notices that they are not as active as her the other three that she owns at home. After spending a short amount of time trying to get both crabs to move, neither of them will even slightly move either their claws or legs. We took them back inside and a different worker confirmed that the two we purchased were indeed dead. Cannot believe that we were sold two dead animals. My daughter cried the whole ride home. I took my 9 month old German Shepherd here for the beginner obedience training classes. For the first scheduled class, I received a call 30 minutes before the class started to tell me the trainer had cancelled and that she would call me back to reschedule, needless to say I never received a call back. I assumed the next class was still on since I did not get a call saying it was cancelled so I drove to the store and when I get there an associate tells me the trainer is now on vacation so there is no class for that day. During the second class, the trainer realized that my dog was not an easy dog to train and kicked her out of the class. She stated my dog needs aggression training with a private instructor. My dog was never aggressive towards other dogs or people in the training class. She snapped to bite her hand when the trainer attempted to put a harness on her herself instead of giving me the harness to put on my dog myself knowing that the dog is scared of strangers. I was very disappointed at the fact that this person claiming to be a dog trainer is charging people $120 but she does not have the knowledge to deal with different type of dog behaviors and personalities. read more
