Grooming appointment for 1:30pm, they say up to 4 hours. I go in 4 hours later and they're just starting his grooming. No phone call to give me a heads up. Manager offers half off the grooming and gives me some bull crap about booking an express appointment if i want him to be put straight through - what a joke. Don't take your dog here unless you're good with them putting it in a cage for 4 hours and wasting your entire day. Completely unacceptable and pitiful customer service. read more

I had my pup in for her grooming. 1st time I have ever used them. I always went to pups and cuts Inwood. When I picked her up I was very thrilled at their work! The young lady ( wish I got her name) did a perfect job, just fantastic! Best cut my pup has ever had. She is a 3 year old Maltese mix. I took my dog in for a groom, I called in January and just like the rest of the world all of the groomers were out sick, they told me I would get a call back when appts were available, that never happened. So I called and asked for an appt with Marisha , my dog really liked her and her cut was one of the best he's gotten. I take my dog in at 9:15 for his appt with Marisha, turns out someone else was grooming him. Ok, cool no biggie, my dog was there from 9:15am to 2:45p , so that was a problem, but I sucked that up, at my poor dogs expense. I' misses 2.5 hrs of work due to the lengthy groom time, I sucked that up. THEN , later that night, I come home to explosive diarrhea on my walls, furniture, flooring. My home smelled like someone died in it. I know my dog and how he reacts to foods, especially chicken which he's allergic to. So I knew immediately, he was given chicken, & after being on the grooming table for 5.5 hrs , it was highly probable they gave him some treats to keep him co-operative. So I called the next day, and the grooming manager showed immense concern and regret for the situation, she was genuine! She told me they would take care of my dogs vet bill and refund the groom. She told me to call her from the vet office and she would give them cc info over the phone. Well when I called the grooming salon was closed, so I paid the vet bill thinking they would reimburse. As If! Not a chance. The store manager, refused the initial invoice , he told me he needed the vets notes, the vet emailed the treatment notes , THEN that wasn't good enough, then they wanted more info, that wasn't good enough, THEN he wanted a more detailed invoice, ya know, like the first one I provided That he refused. So not only have been inconvenienced, lost pay, accrued a vet bill, had to repaint my hallway in my home, that isn't enough for him! I am supposed to keep disrupting my vet for another unacceptable , invoice, treatment detail or what have you!!! Why am I still being inconvenienced and sent on a goose chase to get my money back from a vet bill I shouldn't have had? What a joke! To expect my vet to send multiple invoices and futile statements that don't seem to satisfy Greg? Hmm , prior to they were going to simply pay over the phone, NOW I have to get an entire health chart for $70 ! Greg wins! Only because , it's not my vets fault! He has a business to run, he , nor myself have time to play these silly cat and mouse games! I'll never spend another dime there. Lesson Learned. The audacity to inconvenience us anymore than already have been tells quite the story. The grooming salon did their best to make up for this mess, the store manger... not so much. I finally asked Greg to reply to my vets email and ask him for exactly what he needs, he claimed he could not respond, he only receives incoming emails and can't send any out. Ok, pal, we get it, make this as difficult as possible so we disappear. We will do just that. Not a problem! Mistakes happen, but his lack of concern and the fight he's put up to renege on their promise to pay for their mistake is beyond tacky ! My dog sh!t water for 3 days!!! No biggie! My inconvenience and my dog feeling horrible means nothing to a chain pet store. Duly noted! read more

My boyfriend and I bought some fish from this store recently. The tanks were in great condition; super clean and no dead fish at all! The girl who helped us out was super nice and very knowledgeable about all of the fish they had, and she definitely helped us feel more secure in our fish selection. We usually go to a family owned pet store in Winchester... Unfortunately for us the rumors about PetSmart, and other big pet store chains, having contaminated water are true.. Last week we bought two Cremecicle Mollies to add to our first 10gallon, love plant fish tank. A friend, who has years of fresh water aquarium experience, came over to see them and noticed immediately that both fish have a disease called "ick". They were so covered in white spots that I, a novice at aquarium care, assumed it was part of their scale color pattern. When I bought the fish the girl working in that section didn't say a word to me about the fish (odd in general) but also didn't mention anything about the ick on them... I assume it is because she had no idea what ick was - like me, but I'm not the one selling fish! If PetSmart is going to employ youths they NEED to be educated about the possible diseases their pets and aquariums, and numerous other habitats, could possibly be contaminated with. The fish were cheap, the ick medicine was too, but that's not the point. You shouldn't sell ailing fish!!! How can staff accurately assist customers if they have no idea what they're working with? For her to sell me a sick fish without having a clue makes me wonder if the knowledge and care provided their other animales is sub par as well. This will be our last visit to a commercialized pet store chain. read more

Everytime I walk in the staff is very polite and cheery which I like when I go shopping. They always let you know that you can get them if you have any questions. They don't hound you while your there but let you know that they are there to help if you need them. They are also very educated in their products. read more

Pet Smart seems predictable. They have what you need for your pets and the selection and pricing are allright too. This is primarily for the GROOMING SERVICES. We have two dogs, a female lab mix and a male pitbull. The lab actually is more of the "attack dog" and the pitbull is a luv-bug. He attacks with "the pittie tongue," if you know what I mean. The lab freaks out at the vacuum, so I said if they are going to blow dry her, to be prepared. They took extra time to sensitize the lab-mix to the sound of the blow dryer, and once she got used to it, she really enjoyed the blowing and brushing. The pit loves attention any way he can get it. He was wagging his tail when they were clipping his nails. The staff is very friendly, and the manager checked us out and expressed his thanks for our business. We checked at least two other grooming services in Mbg and Pet Smart's prices were the best. Lowest price does not equate to lowest service in this case at all. Oh, I tipped the groomer too. I have a suspicion that people don't think much about it, but just like housekeepers in a hotel, hair dressers, barbers, wait-staff, etc. they appreciate a nice tip for good work. They will remember you the next time you visit, too, and that will most likely ensure continued customer service excellence for you. read more

I take my Husky puppy (5 months old) here to get her nails trimmed and such and I let Eva (I think that's her name) do my puppy. My husky is so scared to stay on the table but Eva does well with my puppy. Eva is patient and kind and let's me ask a million questions without making me feel rushed at all. I only wish my puppy would be more still while getting nails. That's my husky tho. I like to keep using people who I know do excellent jobs so I can't comment on anyone else there because I haven't used them but I recommend Eva for sure. read more

I patiently awaited her service, however after she was finished with helping another customer, she walked by looking at me and proceeded to the front register to converse with another store employee. Afterward, she smiled as I walked out of the door. I feel like this.... If you are too proud to do your job, then I'm too proud to support your business. Kate usually baths and shaves my cat Bob and she is wonderful. Bob is a very chill kitty and usually stands right at attention like most dogs during his grooming. My only issue is that they only do cats on certain days and when I try to book an appointment around my busy work schedule its almost impossible to get him in. He is fine around dogs and would do well no matter what his surroundings are. I have had to take him to other places that didn't do as well with his shave just because of the scheduling problem. Other places were cheaper but the price showed in their work. I hate that PetSmart is more pro dog than cats. read more

Grooming: I will not take my dog there EVER AGAIN! Every time she went there she would come home with bumps all over her skin like the clippers where not sharp AND some type of infection. She has allergies so we just thought that is what it was. This last time with in 2 weeks of her getting groomed she started to scratch horribly and the bumps where absolutely horrible ! We took her to the Vet's 3 weeks after her grooming and she now has 3 types of bacteria on her which involves her skin, ears, eyes, pads and has moved into her heart. She is on 4 types of med's 2 are the highest antibiotics she can get. 1 of bacteria that she has is going to be really hard to get rid of. Now we can't "prove" that she got it from there, but, it's just amazing that EVERY TIME she went there she got some kind of infection and came home with clipper bumps. We have been giving her baths at home with prescription shampoo for the last 3 weeks. Now she has a different Rx shampoo that has to be done 2 times a week and it has to stay on her for 20 min. My house is VERY clean so I know that it is not from our house. Also, not real important but, I don't like to be called "Hun" or "Babe" from the groomer. I'm not your "Hun" or "Babe", to me not professional at all. read more

We want to thank our groomer Abby for always taking special care of our golden doodle! Our doodle always loved to go into the grooming room, would stand and look for his special groomer! Once she was located he would give her bunches of kisses. She always new his " special cut".Our 8 year old doodle passed recently from a large tumor, and when Abby found out about his passing( when she called to schedule his next appt) she was devastated to hear the news. She went out of her way to get a grieving pet card and to write a personal message to my husband and me! She went above and beyond - not just in business but personally! Grooming - awful. Avoid Kayla at all costs. After telling her I wanted a trim and the same look, instead Kayla SHAVED my dog - ruined her coat, shaved her belly, shaved off my Pomeranians beautiful mane and skirts, and now my dog's previously long soft hair is 1" long all over and wiry. The cut is extremely uneven. She quicked one nail so badly my dog is still limping, then didn't trim any of the others. Total hatchet job. For the bath and hack job they charged me $50. The girl clearly knows nothing about grooming, let alone how to groom a Pom. My bad. I will never go to Petsmart again. read more

I was berated by an employee. She then called her friend over who harassed me as well. Was not the first time either. It was brought to store managers attention, and corporate. both said they were very concerned about her poor behavior and would call me back after dealing with it. never heard back. i have not returned since the second incident. neither have a few of my friends. what we can buy there, we can buy at Naked Acres, Walmart, Target, Tractor Supply and many many other retailers who treat their customers with respect. read more

I took my Puggle Daisy Lady there for a Pawdicure on 04/18/18 and the girl that checked me in was very rude to me. They were very busy when I dropped my dog off, took them 10-15 minutes just to check her in. I'm not complaining about that. I don't think I'm that important, not to have to wait. Because they were so busy and behind on services, I figured they would call me when they were done with the Pawdicure like they normally do. They actually did and the girl on the other line was incredibly rude saying that Daisy had been ready for pick up. It wasn't like I had been gone a long time; 15-20 minutes tops and they never gave me a wait time when I dropped her off (like I said) and I could see they were busy. Upon picking her up, the rude girl groomer reprimanded me, said it only took her ten minutes to do the service. She also said that my dog was not up to date on her rabies vaccination, but she actually was. The irresponsible girl who checked her in never asked for an up-to-date copy. Plus, this was during normal business hours. My vet could've faxed a copy of this over if they had requested it PRIOR to performing this service, like I KNOW they are supposed to. They did do a nice job with the Pawdicure, but because of how rude the girl was to me from beginning to the end of service I will never return to this location in Martinsburg, WV. and I will make sure to share with everyone I know how rude and unprofessional they are at that store. read more
