This is my sweet baby girl, Lizzo. She passed away at 1.5 years old due to what the specialists refer to as Petsmart's business of selling sick reptiles. We spent $4000 to try to save our sweet girl. The exotic specialist explained he sees a lot of animals from this unethical chain store with cancer, etc. I am gutted over the loss of my precious girl. I brought my collie for a full groom and told the attendant no shaving and only cut about 1/2 of the hair length. When I returned it was five hours later and her back end was completely shaved with nothing cut around her neck. What a disaster, they obviously are un- skilled to do grooming .Beware they do not listen to your request and are slow doing their horrible work (5 hours) !! Every time we bring our dogs in, we are chastised for the dogs being dirty (Yes. I'm aware. It's why I brought them in. To get cleaned) They also make little to no effort to actually cut your dogs hair and will let you know (often after the fact) that the dogs were "too matted" to be cut as discussed and you will have returned to you a shivering shaved rat. Great selection of food and toys! I come in for puppy pads for my two little crazy frenchies. I try to escape without buying them any toys but that's next to impossible. My son just picked up his Golden Doodle after being groomed. They had the dog for six hours!! The groomer butchered the dog. The cut is so uneven, they spoke about the length prior to the grooming and went way lower than what was agreed upon. One ear the hair is long and the other it is short. The paws look ridiculous. What did they do for the six hours and who hired this person to be a groomer. Oh and now they want to give him a credit for his next grooming because they agreed it was not very well done. read more

honestly was a little nervous based off the bad reviews for the grooming but i didn't have a bad experience. i was a walk in and i just needed to get my pups nails trimmed. this one girl with curly hair and glasses was super super sweet. she allowed me to get my dogs nails cut and i did the nail trim package for $16. my pup came back to me happy with her nails cut, smelling good. i will definitely be coming back here in the future. read more

I usually use Splash and Dash in Monroe but someone convinced me to use pet smart for their furminating system. Let me tell you, DO NOT waste your hard earned money here. He is shedding more now than he was going in. Trust me Splash and Dash may be more expensive but my dog doesn't shed for a month and looks so great when they are done w him. My dog after the cheaper groom looks like an unkept Junk yard dog. Horrible grooming, you can do what you like but if you have a dog that sheds and thinks paying extract for their furminator service is going to help you, think again. We have used this Petsmart for grooming the past four years, mostly out of convenience. The past couple of months they have cancelled us twice at the last minute. Their only answer has been I'm sorry, there is nothing we can do. No help with rescheduling, no help from the manager, nothing! And, to be totally honest, our dog never smells so great on pickup. I had grooming service for my dog today with Emma O. First thing I specified to her in regards to grooming, was to please cut down my dogs whiskers/hairs. She wasn't as friendly as the usual groomers I've had in the same location. When it's time to go pick up my dog, her face isn't as I requested. I thought I could overcome the shortcomings of the trainer. I was WRONG. So many reasons. Her solution to my dog jumping was to hire someone from Rover.com to walk her! Won't answer questions OR will change the subject OR give you an answer that makes no sense OR will ask you what you would do and say, "do that". A while ago I had called to buy a chinchilla here and asked if the pet was available. The person working in this store said yes that he is available, and I would be able to purchase him. I drove the hour to the store and when arriving another worker said that due to covid the pet has to stay in the store for 3 day quarantine before being allowed to be bought. I mentioned to her that the guy that I spoke with said that I could go to the store and pick it up. I asked if I could pay now and pick up that day, but they said they cannot reserve pets either. So fine I it was a confusion, and it happens, I left the store and waited for the third day that they specifically said the chinchilla would be available. The night before the upcoming day the pet was told it would be allowed to be purchased, I called them to let them know I will be there first thing in the morning. They told me the pet had been sold already. So I drove there for no reason and waited the three days for a supposed ''quarantine rule'' just for them to turn around and sell it to someone else. Waste of time dealing with this store. They are completely irresponsible and have no communication between them whatsoever. I recommend going to a pet store that cares about their customers! read more

They butchered my beautiful goldendoodle. This gorgeous dog came out without any hair on his tail. I took them to PetSmart groomers in Monroe, NY, because our routine Mobil groomer is out of business. Yes, his tail needed attention. But what they did was butcher him. I've been told his hair may not even grow back there. He was groomed side by side with our other Goldendoodle. That one came out fine. Management, the next day, gave me my money back (satisfaction guarantee). If this was a person having their hair cut there, they would be sued for a lot of money. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I am a regular customer, I get both my yellow labs groomed at Pet Smart in Monroe, after having had unpleasant experiences elsewhere. Our groomer, Sam E , told me after both my fur babies got groomed, that both my labs seemed to be apprehensive at the sound of their hair dryers, so it takes longer to do it in a way that won't upset my dogs. Unlike other grooming places, both my labs LOVE going to pet smart. Everyone here is kind, caring about pets, and friendly. Yes, brick and mortar stores may have higher prices than online. I came in here 2x to inquire about getting fish for my kids and intended to ask questions about proper care for them, etc. I wanted it to be a pleasant trip with my kids there so they can learn too. As we looked around the fish and aquatics section, we waited for an associate to come and help us or to just come to the section. Being there for like 5-10min, no one came to help or even near the fish section. Everyone that worked there was either in the back or talking amongst each other in the front end by the checkout. I have been taking my Maltese,Lexie for grooming to Pet Smart in Monroe for over a year. Lexie is a rescue dog and has some special needs.Since I don't know her early history,it is often hard to predict what will trigger her off.She is and can be a loving,happy dog who can also turn into" Cujo" when her anxiety is triggered. Lexie is prone to biting when frightened and is terrified of riding in a car. So it is always an adventure to take her anywhere in the car, especially to get groomed! I have been so impressed with the care and tenderness shown to Lexie every time I bring her in to Pet Smart in Monroe. The staff are incredibly patient and loving in handling my challenging dog,not to mention doing a great job of grooming her. Dana is an angel with Lexie! They have bonded nicely and I make sure Lexie always sees Dana for her grooming appointments.( the first time Dana groomed Lexie ,Lexie bit her!) When Lexie now comes to Pet Smart she is more relaxed,less fearful and is now very loving to the staff because she feels safe and taken care of there. Im so grateful for how much Dana and the Pet Smart team have helped with Lexie's rehabilitation.
