The Practice Manager thoughtfully and emphatically reached out after my last visit. She took the time to address my concerns as well as ensure that I knew the concerns would be addressed. Beyond that she really listened and personally offered to assist me in any way that she could. Turns out, I needed to take my other pup in for an ear infection. The practice manager helped to set me up with a doctor that fit my schedule. Dr. F. was beyond fantastic. She was a gentle and kind vet that remembered my dude from his very first visit. Dr. Ferrao is so great with our senior Weimaraner and our Siamese she is always very clear with explaining everything she is doing even if they take them out if the room for test or blood draw. Dr. Ferrao gives me as much time as I need to answer all my questions. She was able to identify very specific needs for both our pets that could have been over looked. I took the one of the many loves of my life to see the good Dr B because my feline was in extreme pain and at 14 the task of this sad trek from new Windsor fell upon me. It turned out that she had an ear infection and needed treatment which required an overnight stay and sedation as she was living up to her name which is Sassy! I was made to feel extremely comfortable and the staff was loving and caring. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to have there pet kids given platinum service ! I am going to have to give some love to this place. It is right by my house, so I went with my little dog. I had to make the horrible decision to put him down due to his old age and suffering, and I was terrified about how things would go. I did not want him to suffer. I did not want the staff to be apathetic and too business. I have never put down an animal, so I Googled what to expect. The team here exceeded expectations. They quickly went through the needed procedure. I was able to pay before my baby went to sleep, they gave him to me all wrapped up before they gave the injection, and they allowed me to sit in a grieving room and say my last goodbye. He was sleeping within 30 seconds of the injection. The staff talked softly to me during the process and gave their condolences. They were super compassionate. I worked in a hospital, and I have seen practitioners show less grace to grieving humans than these people showed to me. I am grateful for the care they gave to my baby and me, and I felt like I could say goodbye with respect and dignity. Thank all of you. You were great. read more

My dog was very very sick and I called for an emergency appointment and I was berated for not visiting since 2017, they told me they had an appointment on 8 weeks. This is how you treat a loyal customer! If their records were up to date they would have seen my dog had been there in 2019. What happen to "do no harm"? Luckily I am at Flannery Animal Hospital in New Windsor and they are great, they save my dog's life. read more

Recently we had the hard decision to put our cat Punky down. Dr. Metzger was great by doing an exam which reassured me we were doing the right thing for my almost 18yr old cat. I couldn't say enough positive thinks about this facility. We have also used them for boarding my cat and general care for my dog. Sometimes it's a bit of a wait but well worth it b/c they always spend plenty of time answering all of my questions. They explain all options and protocols clearly. read more

It took me several months to write this review as I have still been mourning the loss of my best friend. This practice failed us. My cat died because of their negligence. Stormy was attacked by an outdoor animal. She had bite wounds and bruises on her lower belly pouch. I brought her in to see Dr. Laurel Brenton. The doctor sedated her, shaved her belly, cleaned the wounds, gave her antibiotics and told me everything will be fine. She failed to put drains in the wounds and assured me the drains are unnecessary and believed my cat didn't need anything else to heal. So I brought her home to rest and recover, however She stopped eating and wouldn't move and I knew something was wrong. I brought her back to see dr. Brenton. She examined her and told me everything was fine, she just needs to eat. They sent us home with appetite stimulants. Needless to say, everything wasn't fine: Her puncture wounds were internally infecting her body and she was going into septic shock. Dr. Brenton failed to put in drains. I rushed her to Flannery animal hospital where they confirmed this diagnosis. My poor baby was in the animal ICU for three days hooked up to IVs. She responded well to the antibiotics and was dismissed and sent home with more antibiotics. Flannery animal hospital tried their best to fix this but the extent of the infection had already spread all over her body from the inside. She winded up going into septic shock and dying. Had Dr. Brenton done the right thing, Stormy would be here today. She was only nine years old and a very healthy beautiful cat. If you have a pet emergency I highly suggest you head straight to Flannery Animal Hospital and avoid this practice at all costs. They have no clue what they are doing and it could cost you your pets life. read more

I have owned many dogs and used 3 different vets due to moving. After years of taking my dog here, I learned a big lesson today that this is not the kind of animal hospital I want to care for my dog anymore. They are very concerned about $$$ and not much else. The front desk people are incredibly condescending and rude. They will just hand you the itemized receipt without going over any of the charges. When questioned, their explanation doesn't make any sense. They don't care because it's NOT their money they're spending. It's your money and sadly they don't give a damn. I highly recommend everyone to stay away from this place. I found a different vet who not only carefully goes over every single bill but spends extra time on making sure I fully understand those charges. What a God send! read more

This vet doesn't care about animals, just money. They gave my dog a wrong diagnosis (surgery due to intestinal blockage) and said if it wasn't done he would be dead in the morning. 2 days later and dog is fine. Took him for second opinion & the dog had a "stomach ache", was given some antibiotics and will live the rest of his life. Disgusting & I wouldn't bring a mouse here. read more

Best vet in the area. I use them for boarding as well and they are fantastic and reasonably priced for the service. Medication is a bit pricey, though. My only wish is that they had better weekend hours. Vet isn't always available. read more

Insensitive staff!!! Long story short My child family pet past away 4 hours later. I called as soon as they opened and asked if I could bring my pet in because he was having difficulty breathing and was having a hard time walking. The women that answered the phone told me that she only had a 12:30 appt. I explain that I needed to bring him that it was an emergency, She then told me that every appointment that morning was an emergency. So after I got off the phone I saw that Gizmo was not looking well and I decided to call back and ask if I could bring him in earlier because he didn't look good. So I called back and someone else answered. I told the girl that answered the phone that I had an appointment for 1230 but that I couldn't wait because my dog was not feeling well is it possible that she can fit me in earlier, So she put me on a brief hold and then the girl that I originally spoke got back on the phone and told me that they had no earlier appointment that she told me that she couldn't fit me in. She also recommended that I take him to an emergency room in Middletown. So I called the emergency room in Middletown and they were closed for that day. After checking the web I found Flannery's in New Windsor they immediately took my Pet in and told me that He was in Critical condition. My pet past away 4 hrs later, I would never Go Back to Orange County Vets on 17M in Goshen. Horrible Disgusting Insensitive! Insensitive!!!!!!!! They got 1 star cause I have no choice. read more

First, Dr. Metzger is simply amazing! There is nothing negative that I could say about her when it came to caring for my pups and answering all of my questions. Today, I came home from work and saw that my chihuahua had a pretty bad rash all over her stomach and inside of her ears. I immediately called VCA for an emergency appointment. I was told that I could not have an appointment because they were "double booked". I explained that it was an emergency visit and not just a regular check up, but it didn't matter to the person on the phone. I was advised to go to the emergency vet in Middletown, which doesn't open until 5pm. I've used VCA for years down in Florida and they were amazing. If there was an emergency, they would have me come right to the office. I asked if I could speak to the vet to ask a few questions about the rash and I was told that they don't allow that. I will never go back to this place after being denied an emergency visit for my dog and then referred to an emergency hospital that isn't even open yet. read more

After using the grooming service here for several years to groom our Shetland sheepdogs, and being quite satisfied with their work, we were utterly disappointed with our recent experience there. I took our 3 year old sheltie Penny and asked for a short trim, as I've always done. When I picked her up, after having been asked to pay first, I barely recognized her. She was literally shaved to the point her skin practically showed through. To make it worse, the groomer left her hhead and tail hair long, so she looked completely disproportionate. I had to make several calls before finally being allowed to speak with the manager, who didn't care to hear what I had to say. I offered to send pictures of Penny, so she could view the horrible grooming job, or even bring Penny in so she could see her, but she refused. She admitted the groomer had shaved Penny without being instructed to do so. In spite of this, she refused my request for a refund. Instead they have offered to pay me half the grooming cost. No thank you, Orange County Vet Hospital Grooming Service - I plan on finding a competent, professional dog groomer instead. read more
