The staff here is very friendly and the store sure is kept up and clean. All the shelves are stocked as well. We didn't buy anything today but just had some time and decided to take our 20 month old to go look around. He had a great time by the way lol.

First hair and nail trim care of the pet salon!

Our two month old puppy got her first nail and hair trim at the pet salon. We were a bit weary at first because we wanted to find a groomer not part of a chain, but we were in a pinch. This poor pup needed a nail trip and hair trim around her eyes. We called same day and they were able to accommodate us within the hour as they weren't that busy. The staff was so friendly and made us feel at ease to leave our pup with them. There is a window so if you want to watch your pup get their hair and nails did you def can! They call over the intercom and/or text you that your pup is ready. We did some shopping while we waited for her around PetSmart. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and we are happy we found a spot we can take our pup when we're in this area! Parking is plenty and many shops in the shadow lake Towne center if you haven't been!

I have only come here to buy dog products, which is what I would recommend at this location considering the terrible reviews. I'm giving PetSmart 5 stars because my recent trip resulted in really cute and CHEAP Halloween costumes. I came here Saturday (3 days before Halloween). They had only a few costumes left, but all costumes and some Halloween toys were only $1 each! I got my tinier Shih Tzu a dinosaur costume and a bumble bee costume. I got my bigger Shih Tzu a Pokemon costume that doubles as a knapsack. The staff were really friendly and helpful. One staff member even looked through several boxes of leftover Halloween products to see if there were any other costumes for my small dogs. Yay for great deals!

Here is the coupon book you can ask and buy at pet smart!

We brought our small dog in to get groomed and his nails clipped and do not feel that the staff was effective and believe that they are lazy

Since shedding season has just begun, we decided to take him in for a shed treatment and bath. We heard about this place from my sister-in-law who has taken her dogs there for nail trims. You have to call to make an appointment, but they're really flexible and I didn't have to wait more than a few days to get in. They also asked what my vet was so they could verify the rabies vaccination, which was nice that I didn't have to chase down his records myself. When we took him in, the front desk person was welcoming and help us get all checked in. They asked a few questions about his demeanor, and we assured them that he is mostly a chicken and the most difficult he'll be is he'll freeze up when he gets anxious. They called me about two hours later and he was ready to go. I had to get him within an hour of him finishing. When I got there, I paid first and then they brought him out. He had a super sweet bandanna on, and I could tell that they really worked hard on getting his undercoat out. We haven't had the best experience with de- shed treatments around town as he always comes to us just as hairy. I think some places think that they can get a few minutes of brushing and then call it good but this dude has like three layers of undercoat. You can tell the staff here really spent time on getting that out. Not to mention he smelled SO good. No wet dog smell here. We didn't use any other of their services or do any shopping, but it looks like they had a good selection of products. This isn't our closest local dog store so we probably wouldn't come to just shop but I would return for the grooming services.

The staff are always friendly and we appreciate that they are mindful of their pup to staff ratio. What we love most: - Mid-day naptime. Our pup would and has played forever if she were allowed to. Our previous day care did not have naptime and we noticed that she would usually exhaust herself and at times, get snippy towards the end of the day. The 2 hour break gives us much more peace of mind when we send her for a day knowing she won't be playing for a full 8 hours. - Constant cleaning! At our last place, we almost never saw the staff cleaning the playroom. Whenever we're tuned in to the live stream (another nice bonus), I swear someone is always mopping or wiping the kennels. We wish they'd consider opening another location further east in the city! We'd send her much more frequently if they were a little closer.

Dogtopia Papillion, 10411 Portal Road…read more My dog Sophie attended this location for daycare and boarding for 14 years, since she was a puppy. In 14 years she was never aggressive, never in a fight, and never once flagged by staff as a problem with another dog. On July 20, 2026, I dropped her off for daycare. When I picked her up that afternoon, the front desk told me there had been an "incident." Sophie was lying behind the counter, unresponsive to me. A groomer showed me a wound that had already been cleaned, disinfected, and bathed. No one could tell me what happened. The front desk employee said it occurred before her 1:00 shift. The groomer said she wasn't present either. The facility has cameras. The only explanation offered was that Sophie and another small dog "got into a scuffle." No one called me. I was home all day. Had I been notified, I could have taken her to our regular vet. Instead I learned of the injury at pickup. I left Dogtopia at 4:30 and called my vet from the car. They had no openings left and closed at 6, so they advised Animal Urgent Care, at significantly higher cost, because dog bites can turn serious. When the groomer lifted Sophie, she yelped and then would not put weight on her leg. Urgent Care shaved the wound site, put her on antibiotics, and sent her home in a cone for 7 to 10 days with instructions to clean the wound. I was still charged for a half day of daycare on the day my dog was injured in their care. I was not told whether the other dog would be there the next day. I was instead told Sophie "just lay there and didn't seem to enjoy it" and that I probably shouldn't bring her back, which directly contradicts the staff's own claim that the dogs were "playing." I emailed on July 20 requesting reimbursement of the urgent care bill. I received no response. I followed up on July 21. Stephanie, the General Manager, then left me a voicemail. The recording began before she realized it had started, and captured her mid-conversation with another employee, talking about me. What it recorded her saying was: "She called me a fricking liar." She then turned to the phone, greeted me professionally, and explained that she'd had a busy week and had planned to schedule something with me the following week. Her subsequent email apologized for the delay in communication, something I had never complained about and had expressly said was not my issue. It did not offer to cover the urgent care bill, or any portion of it. I replied clarifying exactly what I was asking for: the urgent care bill, or at minimum the difference between it and a standard vet visit, since their failure to notify me is what forced the emergency visit. She never responded. That was over two weeks ago. The scuffle isn't the failure. Dogs scuffle. The failure is that nobody called me, nobody could tell me what happened despite having video, I was charged for the day my dog was injured, my 14 year customer relationship was treated as disposable, and the General Manager's private reaction to being asked about a contradiction in her own staff's story was to say I called her a fricking before she remembered the line was recording.
