First of all, the general help we got was great. Jeff, one of the sales persons in the store, was very knowledgeable and helpful about products. He deferred our specific training questions to the trainer, Mindy. Although Mindy was knowledgeable, it felt as though she was really pushing us to get our dog into training classes instead of offering constructive suggestions and options. I don't want to offend anyone, but her hygiene was HORRIBLE. We had to step away from her to continue the conversation because her body odor was so awful. That alone will prevent me from registering my dog for training classes at this location. I'll seek another store for training. read more

We USED to like them for their grooming...until today. We had appointments for both our Yorkies, and Petsmart Parker surprised us this morning when they wouldn't take 1 because "they have to wait at least 48 hours after rabies shots" because it's "potentially dangerous if they get stressed"! HUH?! Our Vet has never heard of such a thing and neither have TWO other groomers in town! This is some genius in Corporate who wants to cover their legal butts in the event that 1 in a million dogs has some kind of "problem" (that vet science obviously hasn't identified yet) due to a simple grooming. This was a HUGE pain in the butt for the 1 dog who is older and the car trip alone stresses her out! Already found another place in town who will do it TODAY, but what a nuisance, Petsmart. You just lost my food and treats biz too...just ordered some bird food off Amazon that we USED to get at Petsmart! Your loss... read more

If I could give 0 stars for the grooming I would. It was the absolute worst experience ever. We took our dog, an 8 month old Golden Doodle. We told them very nicely that we are new to this, that he is sometimes anxious but extremely gentle and friendly. They told us that the longest we could leave his hair was 1 inch. We decided to not go for that but just do a facial trim like the staff advised. They informed us that it would include an ear clean, nail trimming, and trimming around the bathroom spots. We trusted that they know what they are doing. Not the friendliest staff at all and seemed frustrated when we asked how the process works. Our appointment was at 5 pm. They told us that it would be approximately 2.5 hours before they even started on him. The back where they put him was extremely loud and looked awful, especially for dogs on the more anxious side. They locked him in a cage and that's it. We went back in to take him and leave and they told us that we could pay $11 for him to be seen to immediately. I understand that there is a waiting list and they rotate but it is absolutely ridiculous that they have to be caged for so long in such a loud environment. We decided to do the $11 extra just to get him out of that place. They bathed him, brushed and dried him. They did a good job of that and I had no issues. She started cutting his face, we told her that we don't want it too short at all but just off his eyes until we can go somewhere else. She practically shaved his face to almost bald spots. When they trimmed his bathroom spots they actually cut him to where he was bleeding. We were told that his ears had also been clean. We checked and that absolutely had not even been touched. The hair cut on his face is absolutely atrocious. If my dog gets infection from that cut they are definitely going to hear from me again. They told us that to cut his full body would cost $77 including the bathing and cleaning. Just to have his face "trimmed" and cleaning was $66 which in my opinion is ridiculous. Some people might say that we are paranoid when it comes to our dog but we were talking to other customers there and they also agreed that they would never trust the people there with their dogs either. read more

Took my dog for grooming. First time it was great my dog was down so quickly! Was so excited to go back and he was the last dog there. So they seemed to be holding his grooming up so they could stay later. When they groomed him they scalped him very badly and made him bleed in many places (he has small fatty tumours) that the groomer before had missed. The groomer blamed his shaking (he's a terrier, he shakes) on his age (he's 13 and has been groomed all his life) and so they banned him from being groomed. Can't say I'm sad, the groomer had no clue about the breed and scalped the crap out of my poor dog! If my dog was anxious I imagine their poor grooming did it to him. He has never been scalped so badly ever in his 13 years. read more

Dog training: Nope. Attended two of the six class series with my pup, and decided we wouldn't be wasting any more time. On the first day, when we all went around the circle and shared dog names, age breed, etc. I mentioned my dog breed, and the trainer said, "I'm sorry." When I asked why she would say such a thing, she said this particular breed of dog is hard to train, she'd never want one, and was super super rude. I decided she must have been having a bad day and I'd cut her some slack, so we went back again for the 2nd class, and got the same comment from the same "trainer" (even though my dog was incredibly well behaved, and he's not a known aggressive or difficult breed of dog). This time she had the new, young employee in training run class, who sent everyone on their own to "practice walking" for half the class while the trainers chit chatted and then ended class early. The overall quality and content of the few sessions we attended were questionable at best. We never returned, no one ever called to ask why, and I can't recommend to anyone else. Find a real trainer and don't bother with the PetSmart training. read more

Took my puppy out first class. One class then 2 weeks off? Wouldn't have signed up at all. Need consistency. Like people have nothing else to do than move schedules after given a 6 week schedule! 12 dogs overcrowded, no organization, chaotic. Gave me a hard time about leaving. Greatest example of customer service yet!! Me and the hubby were helped by a young lady name Kira. When we asked her a million questions she answered all of them with a smile and enthusiasm! A few she didn't know the answer to so she always found out the answer for us and showed us where certain things were located! While we browsed through the isles another employee by the name of Jeff came by and asked if we found everything okay! I love how their employees ask if anyone needs help they don't wait to be asked!! After we found what we needed we headed over to check out in a short and easy line due to a helpful kiddo named Jonthan I believe, he was quick to come over and help make the lines shorter!! Loved his attitude! they were ALL so nice and helpful!! I can't believe we have lived by this store for so long and not come sooner! Will be back! read more

I schedule to have my 15lbs maltipoo groomed and wash with Katy at 8am. We called them we were running a little late and they said be here within the 15min window, which we were. We got there and she wasn't friendly, told us she read notes that my dog tries to bite during hair drying. But this was the first time hearing this and no complaints before. And when it was time to put their own blue leash on my dog, Katy barely tried and said "he's so anxious, I don't like this, he's going to bite me." My dog has never bit anyone, and is even very gentle with babies. Any dog would be anxious if you approach him with a leash without trying to pet him and letting him smell you or getting low to get to know him. So I put the leash on my dog myself and the manager Kim had to bring my dog back because Katy refused to even hold the leash. Kim was so kind and told me my dog was better when she brought him back, but Kim was concerned that Katy a new groomer wouldn't be able to handle my dog. So Kim kindly helped us reschedule with a professional groomer name Tiffany who we had last time, which I appreciate. But I don't understand why they hire workers like Katy who barely tried to interact with my dog and made him feel like he was a danger. You should know how to approach any dog working in this field. Other than this interaction with Katy, this PetSmart location has been great of great service. read more

The staff here is friendly, and the store is clean. This is not a full-sized Petsmart (I think is is about 2/3), but it seems to have all the amenities. Parking ample, except immediately adjacent to the entrance. There are only four spots that are convenient for loading/unloading dogs, etc. The other spots are okay, but you then have to cross the parking lot driving area. Good selection. The prices seem a bit high to me, but are probably typical for this type of business. read more

I like this Pet Smart - it's always clean and the staff is always friendly. they keep things in the same spot - only rearranging the items every-so-often. Which is something that I like. There are times when I just want to run in, grab something and get out. Knowing where things are allows me to do this. They offer a nice selection of collars at very reasonable prices. read more

Clean and relatively pet-smell free. Friendly staff, and they have a decent selection of basically everything you could be looking for. They have on-site pet grooming and they're usually busy so that tells me people are happy with that service. The prices on food are good, but on everything else like travel totes, scratching posts, bedding and litter boxes it's out of control. $50 to $150 for a scratching post? $35 for a basic plastic litter bin? I think Home Depot will sell one to me for $5. read more

For some reason, I like PetSmart better than Petco and this store is an example of why. Everyone is just so interactive. If I'm looking to venture into new territory with my animals, everyone is there to help, including patrons. You can tell the staff here just adore animals and they are eager to interact with them and talk to you about them. I have taken my dog, Abi, here twice and both times she has come out looking like a new woman... dog... whatever! Teresa was her groomer both times and was very gentle with Abi. Abi is not a fan of the nail cutting and other places/groomers I have taken her to clip her nails but have left them jagged. Teresa made sure her nails were not cracked and were filed smooth. Abi is a English Springer Spaniel and her cut was perfect. My experience here has been great and would highly recommend Teresa as a groomer for your dog. read more

I have to agree with other posts - PetSmart is a notch above PetCo. I found the staff very helpful and I only needed 10 crickets for Wizard the Lizard. The gal who helped me was very informed and gave me a short education on worms. I don't remember asking for it, but found it unbelievably interesting nonetheless. Their prices are a bit high on specialty items, like rawhide and antler chews, but everything else seems in line with other stores. Again, I go in and spend $1.40 every week for crickets, but am treated like I spend a hundred. I also like the fact they help relocate cats and dogs to good homes. read more

His knowledge of, ability in, and connection to canines is second to none in Colorado. Through his training, I realized all dogs can be trained as long as the owners themselves learn and apply the techniques Justin teaches. At first this was the only place I'd take my dog for grooming. Yes they do an ok job, but there were things about them that made me go elsewhere. They don't treat you with great customer service, but good enough. When you take your dog in, you can hear other dogs barking because they will put your dog in a metal crate stacked on top of each other (like in a vet overnight stay of sorts), until he/she is ready to be groomed. I've had some excellent groomers while there, but then they left and it went downhill from there. I have told them numerous times to never do his nail as he doesn't like it, so what do they do? They try to do his nails, he gets upset and they muzzle him. I was told that they muzzled him when I came to pick him up because he wouldn't allow them to do his nails. Ok, so if you read the notes in his file, you will see that it says *absolutely do not do his nails*. They clipped his nails too short because of this, they somehow nicked his nose, I guess while cutting around his eyes. And I think he was extremely happy to be out of there. So nope, wouldn't go here and wouldn't recommend. read more

A couple years ago I took my dog here for grooming. The groomer cut my dog with the clippers. They dropped the dog off at the Cottonwood emergency pet hospital & left, THEN called me and told me to go meet my dog there. They did not stay with the dog! My dog needed 14 stitches. Not qualified groomers, you've been warned!! This employee was not fired. The store manager said, "it was an unusual occurrence & sorry for your inconvenience". The dogs leg got infected from the dirty clippers, and he walks with a limp for the rest of his life. read more

Made an appointment for grooming. After they asked me for a ton of information and KNEW that my dog had not been there before. Showed up on time for appointment and they refused to groom my dog because the rabies tag is not sufficient evidence of vaccine. I asked why they didn't tell me at time of booking to bring documents and they simply said well we should have. By the time I would get home to get it and get back would have been to late for grooming. Very unhappy with the level of service here. read more

I have a white puppy; hence the need to keep him cleen on a frequent basis. Petsmart is okay for a wash, but I shy away from anything more than that. Most recently, I asked for a wash and an underbelly shave, and the groomer shaved too close and caused a skin lesion. He was not comfortable with that for weeks. Staff is nice though. read more

My husband and I were just there looking for food for our new puppy. Given that this is our first time having a dog we had TONS! of questions. We came across one of the employees Doug who was very helpful. He took his time to answer all of our beginner doggy parents questions. It was truly helpful to speak with someone that knew what they were taking about and not annoyed by all our questions. Our cashier today was Kim and she was incredibly disrespectful to everyone she encountered. We were behind an old woman that was having difficulties pulling her coupon up on her phone. She asked Kim a couple times how to make it work and Kim responded each time telling her "just get the barcode". The older woman obviously did not understand. Kim took her phone and got the barcode and said "see a bacode". The older woman asked how she got it and Kim said "just click the URL". The old woman was very polite and was never rude when she was be treated so unfairly. After the woman left Kim looked at my father and I next in line and said "I'm not gonna have to show you how to use YOUR phone am I?" My father replied that the woman was older and probably didn't understand and she's a customer. Kim kept saying how everyone else had to wait because that old woman. She was trying to make it seem like she was being funny but it was completely out of line. No one was upset they had to wait except Kim. Not only was it awkward watching Kim interact with her customer, it was worse to then listen to her talk rudely about that customer after she left. Makes us wonder how she talks about us when we fumble or are an "inconvenience" then leave. read more

I usually get my two German Shepherds groomed at their groomers. I always try to get Olivia, she is great and does a thorough job. This time someone, won't mention her name, else groomed them. Took about two hours for two German Shepherds. Which usually took around 4 hours. When I got them back they were still shedding a ton, I know they are German Shepherds that shed a lot. But even after past experiences, their shedding wasn't as much. Every day still vacuuming up ton of hair. Feel the 180.00 was a waste. Going to stick with Olivia. read more

Unfortunately really the only close place to buy fish. The young fish salesman is a jerk. We call him Nazi Fishman. He's quick to prove he's a fish expert and short of giving blood asks a million questions in order to buy a goldfish. I have a large tank for 2 goldfish and you're going to have an argument with me about it because they poop?! I've raised fish all my life and I'm 30 years older than you. Crawl back to your parent's basement. Very aggressive, poor attitude and people find him creepy. Jerk is the nicest word I can use. Overall - register staff are bored and unfriendly. You have to ask for a grocery bag and then get silently shamed when you want one for the 20 lbs of items you just spent 500. on. Avoid this place. Overpriced and condenscending. read more

My teacup chihuahua is nervous about getting her nails done, so I brought her in when the store opened, to get her in and out quickly. Whitney took care of Cloey. Whitneywas OUTSTANDING! Called store and inquired about the female Guinea pig inventory. The lady I spoke with in small pets said they just received a new shipment and she would put them in the display case right away. I confirmed this and said I will be there in about an hour. I showed up 4 hours later after an hour drive to the store and the Guinea pigs were not out yet. Talked to the manager Sean and he said they were too busy and they could not help us or get them out for us to purchase. I will never go back after being treated this rudely. read more
