This wonderful family-owned business is exactly what I was looking for. My little Gucci girl is usually very anxious when meeting strangers. She looked very comfortable in Josh's arms before I left, and was completely calm when I arrived to pick her up. I really liked the open design concept. Not a single dog was in a cage, and I was able to watch the gentle groomer as she worked her magic. Every dog looked AMAZING! My vet, VCA Animal Clinic of Parker recommended Bark Avenue for my new puppy's grooming. Luckily, Christisn had a cancellation and I was in the next morning for a new puppy hairdo! The owner, Heather, did an outstanding job on my Maltipoo. She was extra sweet to my pup, who has never had her hair done. She was matted in areas, and Heather worked patiently and gently to get little Lucy all coiffed. She looks gorgeous and was not scared when I picked her up. Five stars for the genuine kindness shown to my puppy and an excellent hairdo. I've already scheduled Lucy's next appointment. read more

I've brought my dog twice here, and this is my take: Pros: the staff is super friendly and I think they overall do a great job with grooming. Also very accommodating with pick up, I dropped my dog of at 1230 and they said she would be done by 3, when I told them I could only get her at 5 they were really accommodating and said that was no issue. Cons: There's a lot happening (lots of dogs barking etc) so a little bit of a stressful experience. Also my dog chewed thru her leash, which wasn't necessarily their fault but would've been nice to get a little bit of a discount. She also was still slightly damp when I picked her up. Lastly the second time I went they couldn't find her card which took about 5 min to go through all of them, I think it would be helpful if they digital used their system. Overall I think they do a great job, I haven't tried any of the other groomers in the area so not sure about comparing. read more

I am blown away by the outstanding job this mom and pop shop did on my Archie. Archie has only ever seen PetSmart groomers who have hardly clipped a hair on his head because he "wouldn't let them." At Bark Avenue, I brought Archie in because I wanted a groomer to actually cut his hair for the summer and it was the best decision for Archie. Archie felt comfortable with the the experienced groomers so I left without a worry even though he has a separation anxiety issue. The groomers were thorough in asking me how I wanted his fur to get cut and asked me questions I didn't even think of beforehand. As with many pet owners, my dog Thor is basically my child. I've taken him to big-box pet store groomers and always felt like they didn't quite do what I wanted, or that his haircut was choppy in spots. I've always felt horrible leaving him there in the chaos of barking dogs. Today, I took Thor to Bark Avenue and was beyond pleased! Bark Avenue is small, locally owned, and clearly cares about their clients. They took the time to listen to what I wanted and Thor came out with the best haircut he's ever had. The dogs aren't kept in cages but in little cubicle/stalls so that they can see what's going on, and they don't seem stressed at all. When I got there, my nervous wreck of a dog seemed happy and looked great! They even put a little Thanksgiving-themed bandana on him. Love it and will definitely be back! read more

I am so happy that I found Bark Avenue Pet Salon!! I have a little Pomeranian, Miss. Luci, with lots and lots of fur and in order to keep her comfortable and happy she must visit a groomer every 2-3 weeks. I called Bark Avenue on a Friday morning to see if I could schedule an appt. for Miss. Luci as she was 3 weeks overdue for a much needed groom and I figured they wouldn't have an opening for at least 2-3 weeks but they where able to let me bring her in that day! I was immediately impressed with her new "do" and I could tell immediately by the look and feel of her coat that the products used on her are a higher quality. I also love the open layout, no one has to go back to an "employee only" room to retrieve a dog that is ready to be picked up. The team has good communication and they get along so there's no uneasiness or awkwardness when you enter, very friendly and professional. They definitely deserve 5 stars!! read more

Took my golden retriever puppy here for a summer cut. I have used them in the past and they have been ok. But they balded her chest and said it was due to a cowlick... they used the wrong guard and cut too short is what really happened. And they just blew me off when I called. I'm not sure how to rate this place. I'm giving it a three, but maybe a two is how I feel. I took my 12 month King Charles spaniel who hadn't been to the groomers before. They called me in 1 1/2 hour which seemed fast. When I picked him up, he was really rattled, and later I noticed one of his eyes was red and a little popped out as some small dogs do. Also I found some matted hair. I feel their grooming is all about speed and quantity, not so much the care of the dog. read more

My VERY skittish dog will not allow anyone else to trim her nails. Heather is pretty much the only one she trusts to touch her feet. They treat her and myself like family. Myself (and Kai) are known by name at this point. I've been taking my girl there twice a month for two years. They're always excited to see us walk through the door. I called to see if I could get my dog in for a shampoo and cut and was treated very very rudely. I felt as though I was bothering them by calling to inquire on a price and appointment availability. The gentleman on the other line had no manners whatsoever. It is the beginning of January and I was told I couldn't get in until the beginning of April and that was that. I have a very open schedule and he didn't even bother to talk to me further. Sounded to me like they just didn't want my new business. Sad deal too because we would have been a good customer to have as our pup is only 3 and needs groomed 4x a year. Hopefully other people are treated in a more professional manner when calling this establishment. I was not so lucky. Thank you for your reply, Heather. I was not upset by your scheduling policy, but rather the way I was treated on the phone. The gentleman I spoke with was not kind at all. I appreciate you taking the time to explain. This pet salon is amazing! I've always gone and dropped my dear doggy off to have her teeth cleaned and nails trimmed at a moments notice. They are always so welcoming and tell me no more than 30 minutes! I go run a quick errand and as soon as I'm back my dog has her adorable bandana on that they give all the doggies there and she's ready to go:) As for some other reviews about hearing yelping through the door, I have never heard a peep through their heavy door and we've been coming to Bark Avenue for years. HOLY COW! I went into Bark Avenue around 2:00p.m today asking if I would be able to schedule an appointment for my pup (bath and nail clipping). She desperately needed it due to the fact that I evacuated from Hurricane Michael and have been in-and-out of hotels on my way up to Parker. They were able to get her in THAT DAY! My pup has terrible anxiety and refuses anyone who tries to clip her nails. They ended up getting the job done, no problem, and in a timely manner! I take my very skiddish persian cats there. The best and most caring groomers ever!! Regardless of the cats fear of dogs and the unfamiliar setting, the animals respond amazingly to their very calm demeanor and careful handling. They are always groomed (cut and brushed) perfectly.They never come home with multiple or deep razor gouges. A year and a half later and we're still loyal customers. My inlaws now send their cairn terriers here to be groomed, which requires a special skill set since the coats are hand-stripped rather than clipped. Take cash as they don't accept checks or cards, but still a terrific place. read more

We have had our 2 dogs groomed here ever since they opened up several years ago. Heather knows ,not only how to cut to make them look adorable, but also how to handle dogs. Our first dog, Tipsy, came out looking like a new dog, completely adorable, and she was a nicer dog at home...We had previously had PetSmart groom her, and she would bite them and had a terrible experience, came home looking like trash. This place is like dog therapy, too. both of our dogs always come home looking so adorable. Heather and Jack make a great team. They only work weekdays and close appointments mid afternoon, but that is not a problem for us, as we are retired. They can do this, as they are so good and did not have to advertise to build their clientele, as it is all by word of mouth. They are the BEST! read more
