This review is solely based on the terrible customer service and attitude I received from the older/elderly lady who works there. I asked to see a tarantula and right away the attitude started with "I can only allow you to see it if you're interested in buying it". Well of course I'm interested, why else would I be asking, especially about a tarantula? I want to see it up closer to make sure there's no injuries and that it's not a hooked out male. I also want to see how it responds to simply being picked up in the container. She tells me she can't let me see it. I told her another store allowed me to see it closely and see how it reacted when they took the lid off and moved stuff around to uncover the spider that was hiding. She asked what store and then got on her headset and asked "Can I let a customer handle a tarantula? They are saying East Peoria let them play with it". I immediately tried to stop her and tell her that is NOT what I said. She put her finger up to shush me and smirked when they replied no. She also told me since they are venomous, they can't even open the lid in the store. They have to remove decorations in the back. I told her their venom is not significant to humans. She responds yes it is if you have an allergy to bees. Do you really think I'd be buying something if I were deathly allergic to it? The funny thing is I bought a curly hair just 2 weeks prior from this EXACT location and they removed the accessories at the podium in front of the fish with me. Just the day before I purchased a pink toe, different location and the same thing!!! It was like she was getting a kick out of arguing with me and trying to somehow prove me wrong. If you're scared of tarantulas or lazy and don't want to make the sale, just say so. read more

We needed a quick nail trim and grind on a Sunday afternoon. The staff told us it would be a 15 minute wait but took us far more quickly. They were very gentle as they trimmed his nails - and were done promptly. read more

I took my dogs here to Petsmart to be groomed yesterday and I have to say I didn't start out pleased with my experience at all. A night lady started checking me and my pets in, but was ordered to go to something else by a rather rude lady, who unfortunately finished my check in process. She spoke to me like I was a moron and acted like she had no patience to deal with me. My Pomeranian was a bit distressed and kept whining and barking while I was trying to talk to her. At one point I was listening to her describe a hair cut and trying to soothe my dog at the same time. She had the nerve to stop and say "Look at me," in a demanding tone. I was like..Are you kidding me? Do I look like a dog to you? I thought this was the rudest costumer service remark I have ever received. Look at me? I'm responding to you and trying to get my dog to calm down. I have to say, I was less than thrilled to be leaving my two dogs with her. The end result was pleasant. A different girl finished the process when I came to pick up my dogs and they both had rather nice haircuts and smelled cleaned. The quality of cut was very acceptable. I have to say, I am still unsure whether I will return here or not. The woman left a bad taste in my mouth and if I'm going to be spending $100+ on dog grooming, I except to be treated a little nicer and more respectfully. EDIT.. I originally gave them three stars, but I take that back! I was told when I picked up my dogs that both of them did well and received no negative information re guarding their grooming process. WELL! Today, Animal control knocks on my door early in the morning, telling my husband that our dog bit a groomer and now had to be tested for rabies on a specific date or we would be charged a $250 fine PER DAY until it was completed. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Why am I being informed by this surprised visit by Animal Control that something happened? There was NOT one word of negative feedback from the groomers when I picked him up. ALSO, if he was biting, why is he fully groomed? If he bit hard enough to penetrate skin, I would think that the grooming process would be terminated and I would be called. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS PLACE AGAIN! read more

We took our dog to the pet smart grooming salon on 8/13. She was to have a bath and haircut, shaving only her belly due to some matted hair. They quoted us a price and we left her to be groomed at 4pm. At 6:40 I called because they had not called yet despite that they said it would not take long (she weighs a whopping 3 lbs), at that time they said she was done. We went to get her and they had shaved her completely bald, she was a shivering scared mess and yelped if you even tried coming near her. They at that point tried to charge us an extra $56. (Yeah right! I refused) we overheard the groomer saying they "lassoed" her and had a hard time shaving her. Yet her "pawgress report" said "Effie did awesome!" When she got home she was a scared mess, she has been timid and snippy since coming home, she had a small cut on her face that became an abscess (it makes me wonder how often they clean their tools). She then had to be taken to the vet and be sedated to have the abscess removed and cleaned and get antibiotics which cost me another $250. I called and spoke to the lead, the assistant manager, and the salon manager. All defended their actions and had no remorse or acknowledgment of their poor treatment of our pet. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back to PetSmart for anything. Not even a squeaky toy. I do not recommend you take your pet there. They do not treat them with the love and TLC they should. PetSmart should be ashamed. I would like to give them a zero star rating. read more

I scheduled an appointment online for my dog to be bathed, nails trimmed, and ears cleaned for noon. I was told it would be 1 hour. Seemed long but I left him and went to do some errands. Came back at 1:15 to be told they hadn't started on him yet and it would still be another hour and a half! What I ended up doing was only getting a nail grind. Same cost and took 15 minutes. read more

I have taken my dog there a couple times to get groomed and the last couple times I've had negative experiences. I always make appointments and I let them know in advance what I want for my dog. When I bring my dog in, even though I called before, they ask me again what services I want. If I'm spending my money there, I expect a little bit of professionalism. Then, when I pick up my dog, something is always something they didn't do like they were supposed to. His teeth aren't brushed and nails aren't trimmed like I asked them to do before and of course I got charged for it. Won't be going back to that grooming salon. read more

They messed it up first time & they were not ready to accept that they screwed up, patchy job didn't look professional at all, I could have done a better job. Rude staff in grooming. They entered my appointment wrong and then lied and said I was an hour late. I had made a same day appointment and was asked if I could be there at 3 pm. (I called at 2:11) I had even called back to verify because I had to find our recent rabies vaccination papers. When I called back, I said I just made the 3:00 appointment and was not corrected. I arrived admittedly 20 min late due to forgetting the papers and having to turn around. I was greeted rudely saying you are an hour late so we can't help you. I told them my appointment was at 3 and they said no it was 2:30. I would have not even accepted a 2:30 appointment because I couldn't have gotten there that quickly. I then receive a voice mail saying that I no-showed and if it happens again, I will be banned. Don't worry, it will never happen again because I will never set foot in that store again. Ridiculous and a total waste of my time and gas. read more
