We've been coming here for years, mainly for the Banfield hospital, but most recently for beginning dog training for our 6-month old puppy. I want to commend Mel, the trainer who guided us through the six week training. Mel is extremely passionate about training dogs; she answers every question (even via text and phone off hours), and gave us extra attention and consideration when our puppy required it. Training is not an easy thing, but now we feel confident we have the basic knowledge to continue working with our puppy to shape her behaviors in ways that our beneficial. Thank you, Mel! read more

I have to say I love this store. I've had a few bad experiences, but they have been far and few in between and not enough to taint my shopping experience. The staff is very friendly and always remembers me and my boy Boris when we walk in. The prices are kind of high, but almost always worth the extra penny spent. My issue is not with the store, today, but with a fellow customer. I was standing in line, with my boy in a down stay, when a customer with a bully breed mix comes and stands behind me. The little puppy is super excited and wants to say hi to Boris. Tail wagging, jumping, lunging, pulling at the leash. All normal stuff for an excited puppy. I was busy with my transaction and the puppy was a bit too excited for me to feel comfortable letting them say hi. Now this has nothing to do with the dog. The dog did nothing wrong. His excitement definitely could've been corrected, but not in the way that the customer did. Just as I was paying, I heard a very large slap and a yelp. The woman slapped her dog across the muzzle and he began to cower in fear between her feet. My dog is not well behaved because of being smacked around. He's well behaved because he was trained with positive reinforcement along with socialization, exposure, and desensitization. To the woman who slapped her beautiful grey and white bully mix across the face this afternoon, I just want you to be aware that the cashier and I saw your actions and our jaws dropped. We couldn't believe our eyes. Your decision to slap your dog instead of correct him did not go unnoticed. Treat your dog with love and he will become the best dog you could ask for. Slapping doesn't correct. It masks and creates fear, leading to a more problematic dog. Please love your dog!! read more

I love this store. But, I must say, that I have been trying to support local businesses more than the bigger chain places. Yes, I no longer utilize their pet grooming services. We usually go here for our dog food and dog toys. We stick with a local groomer now. But PetSmart, I love you for your convenience! You guys spoiled my Sammy! This review is for the two groomers that I had an issue with. They aren't even the one who grooms my dog. But the ones who checked my dog in. One is an older Caucasian lady that's loud and extremely rude. The other one is a middle age Caucasian guy that has a mullet. He's rude and obnoxious! Was passing through town while traveling in our RV with our dogs and we were on the road longer than we'd expected so I needed to pickup some food since I have home delivery of our food. I should remember that the food I liked for my guys that I wanted and liked they quit carrying and I had a hard time trying to find something comparable to what I'm feeding them now. But there wasn't anyone around to help me with my situation. So I guess it was me and the hundreds of bags of dog foods to read about with my dogs and husband out in the parking lot and it was hot out!!! So I chose a brand that looked like it had similar ingredients and not so much byproducts and hoped for the best. Lugged it up to the counter and paid for the food. 4/3/14- This was the second time that I have used their dog grooming services. I was happy with the first service and now the second visit was extremely successful. My pampered pooch looked & smelled good. I was honored that my pooch got a good "pawgress" report. She enjoyed her bath & grooming session. This review is for the grooming salon. I have been bringing my dogs here for more years than I can recall. I never had a problem til this year. Don't bother booking online..when I get there they are either overbooked or tell you they don't see it. The grooming staff is overbooked and overworked and the animals suffer. .There is no order here or follow up. It's all about volume and money now. You can hardly walk through the store as products fill even the center aisle. They also brought in a pet hospital..all in the same building. I was told I could pay extra money to have my dog groomed more promptly. I'm totally disgusted with this place. I have been a loyal customer through three dogs but it's no longer even a remotely decent place to bring my dog. Why allow online booking when the groomers aren't aware it happened. Shame on you Petsmart. You are doing harm to your customers, groomers and above all their precious pets when you don't conduct business in a honest and reasonable way. . read more

9/23/2021 around 10 ish i went into this place to get my dog's nail trimmed and witnessed this abuse please do not take your pets to there grooming, i watched as a groomer abused a dog as she's grooming him, she literally twisted his neck pinched him behind the ear held him in that position as hes crying .. she then puts that lease thing around his neck and highers it to where is back feet were almost off the table, her exact words were (i hate this dog so much) i had to step in and say something to the other groomers as they just watched, i grabbed my 2 dogs and we went and told management and then called corporate and now filing animal abuse on this lady, she is heavy set groomer abuser has black hair not sure hispanic or white, but she is very cruel and this was unacceptable!! read more

Crystal at PetSmart is my favorite.. She is always always really sweet to my Issabella and does exactly what we want... I've used a few other groomers while Crystal was either too booked up or on vacation, but today crystal took issy off to get cleaned up... Raider loves all the groomers that work on grinding his nails. We TRY and go every two weeks but sometimes its 3 weeks but they all do a great job on getting them as short as possible. Never had an injury which is exactly why I only grind versus trim his nails. read more

Usually everyone is pretty helpful but today was the first time one of the managers named Aaron helped us. He was AMAZING!!! I can't brag enough how much this store is gaining by having him there. He's obviously a manager for a reason. We asked a bunch of questions & he was so knowledgeable about ALL of our needs, my husband & I were really impressed! We've been searching frantically online to help with our fish care, & his advice & insight was greatly appreciated. He told us at one point he owned the same fish we have, so his tips were awesome. Employees here are very helpful and have plenty of knowledge on pets and products. If an employee can't answer a question they will find someone who can. Overall the staff looks happy and upbeat. The store itself is clean and has a huge selection. I was surprised how clean the store was because they allow pets inside. For people who need it they also offer training and grooming. read more

Salon, store and Banfield review: SALON: groomer and bathed dependent. We had a bad groomer and dog was traumatized. We can tell the ok ones but you know when they have a good one and we stick with that one and no one else. Customer service was very poor last time we were there (months ago) but is usually just ok. STORE: mostly ok except we bought a rodent and were told okay to house two males together (bad advice they fight to kill each other). All other store experiences have been very good including phone calls BANFIELD: Male Vet Indian is very good. Other vet will not respond to calls. Staff is selectively okay. Phone service okay. There are some rude staff and when we needed them the most all staff and vet were not helpful and would not allow me to talk to a manager or supervisor. read more

Today my shorkie had his first appointment, Haley did an amazing job. She was very gentle and welcoming for our very first visit. He didn't seem scared or mistreated, he was his usual self. My only issue is the Groomers and their service. Me and my dog's first experience was wonderful, she absolutely whoever the Groomer was so we decided to make her official Groomers salon here. Our second experience was horrific, we had the same request but a different groomer as we expected every single one their would handle our dog well. I ended up waiting 2-3 hours for a simple bath, brush, trim. When my dog was handed back to me, it was almost as if she was fearing the Groomer that took her in. We never went back since then. My brother had recently moved back here with his dog and he needed a Bath/Haircut asap. I booked an appointment here for him, it was confirmed that it would be the 5th. I received no call, no text that it ended up being cancelled. I tried to call them and figure out some information however when I explained the women on the phone put me on hold for almost an hour. I was at this location yesterday June 15th around 1:30pm. I wanted to buy a couple parakeets and all their accessories etc. So I go in with my son and we're looking at the kittens in the front then move over to the birds. We decided to go look towards the back of the store when I notice an employee signal to another to watch us. As we moved throughout the store, I notice two more employees popping out from random aisles following us. Now I do understand this is Stockton and having had worked in retail that sometimes you gotta watch people but I've never just assumed someone was a shoplifter. We weren't dressed "ghetto" nor were we loitering. It was extremely uncomfortable and a little distressing to be followed around that way and not one were we asked if we needed help. I went to the PetSmart on Trinity Parkway before Christmas. I went there looking for a specific can of kitten wet food. They did not have any of the shelf, so I went to the register and asked the cashier. Instead of just saying, "no, we don't have that, sorry." She actually radio'd someone else to look for me, but they didn't see any on the shelf (duh). However, I didn't know my mom had pulled an associate aside to look for the exact food. Two associates walked to the back and searched with their own eyes and were able to find the case that was in their system. Sorry for the long explanation, but no other PetSmart I've been to, cares enough to physically go look for something. Definitely will go back to this PetSmart specifically for their apparent want to actually help customers. Major kudos! I'm usually a Petco loyal shopper but since I was back home visiting for the holidays and in need of finding a few gifts for my four legged nephews, I needed to stop in and get a few items. This particular store was clean and well stocked. I was able to find everything I was looking for: -Drinkwell Platinum Fountain - Bummed that I found it $10 cheaper when I got home and stopped in at Petco. Boo! -Automatic Food dispenser - basic for a kitty cat and something he won't knock down. Hopefully. - Science Diet - 15lb bag of food. Always shop for the necessities. Cashiers were friendly but not one person stopped to ask if i needed help. I guess I'm used to the nice associates at Petco. I had an excellent experience at the grooming salon in this petsmart. I usually have my yorkie groomed by Charlenes at Charlene's quality pet grooming on country club blvd. however, I heard some of her team left and that it isn't what it used to be. SO, i went hunting for a new groomer. as any pet owner knows, it's difficult to find a good groomer who can give a proper breed-distinct cut and provide service w/o causing harm to your pet. my anxieties were over when I met Mies at the petsmart grooming salon. Initially, they were kinda iffy on taking my pet in because he had just gotten his rabies vaccine a few hours beforehand. Having told them he's received the vaccine before and had no ill reactions, Mies happily volunteered to groom russy for me (I was very thankful he could accomodate us!) :) overall, Mies did a great job. my yorkie was a lil scared, but Mies treated him very well! When I came to pick him up, I was afraid my dog's hair would look horrible (you never know whenever you try out a new groomer), however he LOOKED GREAT! I was very happy w/ the cut. I've found my new groomer! thanks Mies for providing excellent service and for your amazing grooming skills on my dog! :) Oh, and i love the fact that they provide a "progress report" of what services you paid for, how your dog did during the grooming, and any recommendations they had. (Mies recommended russy get his teeth professionally cleaned because he had some tartar that could not be removed w/ brushing) Another plus is that this petsmart is SO CLEAN AND BIG! Compared to Petco by the mall, it's a lot more calm, clean, and staffed w/ very knowledgeable employees! GROOMING SALON REVIEW: Do not leave your dog with Jeanne!! Last weekend I took my dogs to the groomers here for the first time (and last). When I booked my appointment, the lady on the phone told me it would only be $3 to upgrade from the regular bath to the "furminator". She quoted me $28 per dog. When I brought them in, a girl named Hannah was at the front desk and asked me to sign a receipt for $48 per dog. I stupidly signed it and realized it was wrong when I was in the parking lot. I went back, and Hannah explained I was quoted the wrong price, so she fixed it to the regular wash. Hannah was very understanding about it. Then I walked out and saw one of my dogs through the window. She is very skiddish so I was looking at her and trying to calm her through the window because I saw that she was shaking. I went to take a photo of my dog and the groomer (Jeanne) still hadn't looked up. She was clipping my dog's nails without looking. She was yelling something to the other employee, Hannah. Then Hannah came outside and told me that I was not allowed to take photos of the Groomer. I told her I wasn't taking a photo of her, I was taking one of my pet. She told me the groomer (Jeanne) was uncomfortable with photos and of us watching her (even though there is a huge glass viewing window?)... So I left and to be honest was extremely unhappy with how rude it was to say that. 2 hours went by and I still did not get a phone call. I called and they said they were still not finished and it would be another 45 minutes. Then 4 hours later (total) I still didn't get a call, so I showed up to see if they were ready. They were still finishing up but within 10 minutes had both pets ready. Hannah worked on one dog and she was very sweet. She filled the pamphlet out for me and explained how my pet did. Then Jeanne came out, handed me my dog and didn't say a word. She gave me a BLANK pamphlet and walked away. At least I got the name on the front of the pamphlet. I have never been so upset. The whole time I was gone I was so worried about how they were treating my animals. Later that night, the dog that was with Jeanne got really bad diarrhea. She doesn't usually get sick and it was really frightening. I don't want to accuse anyone of that because I have no idea why she got sick. But regardless, that thought shouldn't have to cross my mind. Anyone should feel comfortable leaving their pet at a grooming salon. It was such a horrible experience waiting to get them back. I have been do a different PetSmart grooming salon in Rohnert Park and they did an amazing job and were very friendly. I will NEVER go back to this groomer again! This place is awesome I frequently come here with my kid. We spend hours looking at the animals. Everything is pristine clean. And you can tell the staff take very good care of all animals. I 100% support shopping here. No algae overgrowth in the tanks. The betas always have fresh water. All fish have fresh water. The cat pod hotel is always clean. All animals are well fed. The staff here really actually care about the welfare of animals they sell. The staff are so friendly and answer all of my questions even after I have spent an hour just loitering around and asking constant questions. This review is specifically for the grooming. We've been there about 4 times with our shihtzu. They were great at the counter. They have different packages and add ons, so its pretty easy to explain everything. We always get the cut, shampoo, and the anal gland thing. The whole things costs about $45. Each of the groomers that took our dog, were very nice and friendly. Our dog took to them pretty quickly and went along no problem. The grooming is always done in a couple hours, so my wife and I just head over the target. She always looks good and clean. The places looses one star for being more expensive than some of the other places around. But its still a pretty good place. read more

Today we took our dogs to get groomed, worst groomer ever. He constantly yelled at the dogs for barking which caused them to bark more. This guy has no damn clue how to take care of dogs he's grooming, if you can't handle the dogs then you shouldn't be a groomer. They were suppose to get nails done, that's all. This review is for the grooming services. The prices are a bit pricey, $40 for bath/nail trim/cut. They do a good job though and my Taro comes back all fluffy and clean smelling. However, he always looks like he has bad haircut whenever I pick him up :( They always make him look like duck. So now I just cut him myself and he no longer has a duck-looking like muzzle. The store, however, is clean and well stocked! The people working here are also pretty friendly. I prefer Petsmart over Petco anyday. read more
