Instead, they told me I had to reschedule because only the manager could handle dogs like mine, which was incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. The lack of effort and willingness to work with my dog was disappointing, and the overall service felt unprofessional. I expected a more accommodating and understanding approach, especially from a pet care provider. I have taken my puppy there 3 times now. Staff is friendly and thus far done a nice job with his grooming. He is an energetic puppy and true to the breed can be very vocal. Staff seems knowledgeable about the many breeds and understands their individual nature, That's a big plus in my book as you can't interact properly with the animal if you don't understand the breed and their nature. They also have his Royal Canin puppy chow at the same price as Amazon so we get his food there as well. Check out can be a bit slow as most times there is only one cashier. Most frustrating experience. Called to inquire about making an appointment for a mail trim. She said I don't need to make an appointment but to come in around 12 because they had some down time and I would be in and out. Arrived at 11:40 and waited more than 15 minutes to be helped. They had to call my vet because my dog has a heart murmur (I told her it was level 3) and she said they can do it on level 3 and below. We go through the paperwork etc, and then another lady says they CANNOT trim nails on level 3 murmur dogs. Absolute waste of time. TIP to save money: Order on-line and then pick up in store. I was in the market for a doggie door and after searching at home on-line I determined Petsmart had the best price and found out it was in stock locally. I drove to the Petsmart store and noticed the price difference between the on-line door ($114) and the store door ($159). According to the on-line site I could order the door and pay over the internet to receive the internet price which is exactly what I did. I actually ordered the doggie door while in the store and within minutes an email arrived stating it was ready for pick up! I received a substantial savings so thanks Petsmart! When I picked up my dog she was completely shaved down and has random bald spots on her. They only left hair on her head and tail. I took my 5 month old puppy here to get a trim. They didn't cut his body hair whatsoever. All they did was shave his hind and potty parts, and it looks awful!!!! I went here based on decent reviews. Not only did I have to wait 30 minutes to check my dog in but they took 4.5 hours to finish him. I'm sorry that's not okay especially when i have a small dog with anxiety so for the majority of the time he must have been locked in a cold metal cage. I gave the groomer exact instructions on how i wanted his hair cut, i even showed them a picture and they WROTE everything down. BUT when i got him he looked the exact opposite of how i described for them to cut his hair. ( i only asked for a trim since it's so cold and around the 30s outside but shorter legs because the dead leaves are sticking on him) They gave him a buzz cut but his legs and feet are longer. i'm sorry but he looks really bad. The problem was the grooming salon there, that I took my dog to. She just went in for a bath and a brush. She's a schnoodle, being 1/2 poodle with curly hair all over. But I did not appreciate several things from that visit. When I brought her in for the grooming, at the Apalachee Parkway location in Tallahassee, Florida, I was told by a dry-faced older, fat woman to LEAVE, when I was just sweetly talking to a big teddy bear dog (but then I left with embarassed humiliation), and she also said that my dog STANK very rudely! When I picked my dog up, they had BLOWN ALL OF HER POODLE CURLS OUT STRAIGHT! Do they do that to ALL poodles' curls? Her hair was straight all over, and fell flat on the top of her head, and looked BAD! No one apologized. I was not allowed to see her grooming, so I didn't know what they were doing to her. It was a very bad experience. I had been there several times before, and never had those things happen, but don't know if I will ever be going there again, either for grooming or products. Don't bring your puppy here. They have zero patience for scared puppies. First trim looked like a toddler did it, and I blamed a wiggling puppy on it. Second trim at 6 mos and they gave her a bath. That's it. No privates trims, barely any around the eyes, nothing that we asked them to do. Their excuse? There's something "wrong" with your dog. The lady looked as if she enjoyed schooling me and trashing my dog. She said she "needs training" without asking if puppy was in training already. She is. I said thank you, smiled and left. Paid the $32 FOR A BATH, and we knew we'd never come back. Toxic experience. FYI: As the groomer was saying this, the puppy was still on the table, complying, not moving an inch. I used to frequent this Petsmart grooming and loved it. However, it appears that none of the old groomers are there anymore. The new staff is untrained, uncooperative, and rude. They have a new manager as well who clearly has no idea what she's talking about. It seems like she has no training or knowledge about dog grooming. I made them take the dog to Banfield to make sure they had not injured him. The vet said that it was "irritated". Now, my dog is afraid of the razor and to be groomed. The Grooming Department definitely needs to step up the management aspect. After each dog they should clean up before they take the next animal. When they groom the animals the hair piles up on the floor and then they'll set the clean groomed animal in a 12 inch pile of fur after the animal has just been groomed and had a bath. If the management is too incompetent to make sure the facility is clean for each animal this should be addressed. Maybe a few reports to the health department might give them the incentive to keep the area clean. It only takes a small effort to sweep up and clean up after each animal. Corporate needs to step it up at the Apalachee Parkway location and make them clean up the grooming area. read more

I took my cocker spaniel in for a haircut on Thursday, March 29th. The appointment was at 3:30 pm and the groomer was not there yet. I explained to another groomer how I wanted my dogs haircut. Her hair was matted on her chest and back area, so I asked if they could spot shave her instead of shaving her entirely. I explained to them I had graduation pictures coming up and would like my dog to NOT be shaved. I understood with spot shaving that her hair would be a little uneven but they assured me that her hair would remain long. I also asked for her ears to be TRIMMED. I told the groomer that if she did not think any of this would be possible to please let me know and I would reschedule my dogs appointment for 3 weeks later. After my graduation pictures would be taken. They told me not to worry and they would be able to get it done. They also took down my phone number to call me if anything came up or if they needed to shave her anymore than I asked. I did not receive one phone call. My dog was not ready for pickup until 8:30. When I called to see if my cocker spaniel was ready for pick up the groomer told me she had to bathe her again because there was an "accident". My dog sat in a crate for 5 hours and peed herself. When I got to Petsmart finally the groomer told me she was going to give me $10 off before I even got the chance to see my dog. I appreciate the discount but I don't appreciate Petsmarts lack of consideration and the way they ignored me. I would have appreciated honesty and a phone call letting me know what was going on. My dog is completely shaved and has a full head of hair and shaved ears. I will definitely not be coming back to Petsmart for any kind of grooming service. read more

Took our pup to get groomed and the woman was nice. However when we picked him up we were told he cried and yelled the entire time his nails were clipped and he was being a drama queen. When we took him home we noticed his nails were so short he couldn't grip the floor at all and was sliding everywhere. No wonder he was uncomfortable his nails were cut WAY too short. There was also a woman there yanking on a dogs leg trying to cut its nails and talking to the dog saying "why are you being like this today??" Quite disturbing to see. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. If you have a specialized skill like dog grooming and are expected to also operate "front of house" services like booking and data input, but don't know how....then hire someone solely responsible for those operations. Having to wait 20+ minutes for an employee to learn on the fly how to use the system that they are responsible for operating is one thing. I get it, computers are tricky. However, what's not acceptable is to never apologize for wasting our time and then ultimately turn us away because entering new customer information was too tricky and then not apologize for that either. Ok, so I had made an appointment for my dog, and my mom's​ dog. They are both fairly young under 5 mths. We were supposed​ to get a puppy trim, and we upgraded for conditioner​ and nail grind for a premium. They originally gave us a return time of 4 hrs, but they only took about one hour for both which we were really surprised​ with. When I went to pick them up it didn't seem like anything was changed. I was displeased with how my baby's hair was cut into some mustache. I voiced my displeasure and the groomer said she wouldn't fix it because he barely allowed her to do that because he was difficult. With that being said, she wouldn't fix it. My mom took her dog to the vet yesterday and the vet commented on how she had so much hair in her ears she couldn't see inside during her checkup. This was odd considering she was supposed to have had her ear hair clipped a couple days prior from when she was groomed. This was just an all around bad experience and I will not be going back. read more

We have taken our dog, Moose, to this groomer about three time now and we liked it a lot. He always had a wonderful groomer named Sarah who seemed to keep him calm even while under stress. We mainly take him to the groomers to get his nails trimmed (they grow fast), but we choose petsmart over the vet or other groomers because we really enjoy the package deal that comes with the "bath" option. This last time we booked an appointment we found that Sarah was not there and that Moose would instead be given to this new person, Molly. Moose was there for over an hour and we were told that they were unable to clip his nails because he was "not having it." Later at home, we looked at his nails and Molly clipped his nails so short that she cut off the tips of the nerve portion of his nails!! Even though we opted for grinding (extra $12 mind you), they were evidently clipped? So she said that she was only able to do the back paws (barely) and not the front. They did give us a $5 off coupon for the inconvenience, but when they tried to say that it was because my dog was having an "off day" and I later look at his nails and see that the reason he was having an "off day" was because she clipped off so much of his nail, it must have really hurt him. Definitely never going to see Molly again and very unsure about taking him to petsmart grooming ever again. read more

They don't seem to have their act together and no one seems to know what they stock or what is on sale. We visited this Petsmart on August 1, 2017 to buy cat food and kitty litter; we'd seen ads on TV the day before. Kitty litter was advertised at 2 for $20 (the large buckets) and the cat food was on sale too. We quickly located the cat food but they only had two so we asked if they had more in the back. It nearly 20 minutes and two staff to find the extra bags in the back; they first directed us to the dog food and seemed amazed when we kept saying this isn't what we want; after some discussion, one finally looked in the back as we'd asked and found the additional bags. Then we found the litter; no sale price was shown so we asked; no one knew a thing, one lady said she didn't have cable TV so had no idea. Another just said "ask someone else." I used my phone to access their site and lo and behold, there was the kitty litter on sale - right there on my screen. I then showed it to the cashier who had no cable; her first reaction was that yes, it says that but we probably can't honor that price here. I kept pushing so she asked her manager who was on the phone; he confirmed I was correct and that the price was correct. FINALLY!! What should have happened in less then 10 minutes took nearly 30. The manager is at fault for poor supervision of his staff and his staff are equally at fault for not knowing (or seeming to care) what they stock. I hope they do a better job of grooming pets than they do at handling their sales. read more
