I was looking for a place in Tallahassee that had a dog day care and was happy I found this place. I was shocked when I saw the pictures of the place because I was hoping there was an option for Humans to stay. The best part for me is they have a groomer there so while Mick (my dog) gets to play, he also gets groomed right before he gets home. They also have a complimentary free day to test out so if you're on the fence, it's free, why not. During my first visit, I got the feel it was a genuine day care and when my dog left it was like leaving my child for his first day of school. They cycle the dogs out that get to play so I was anxious to see how he does. They have cameras you can watch online. My dog is also timid around men but he felt comfortable around one of the male coworkers (Sorry I don't know his name). I didn't know how the grooming would go so when I got a call from Molly, I was ready for the worse. She told me he was fantastic and loved him. It was so unexpected and it made me so happy to know he did so well. Overall, my dog seems to like it (not sure because he's still learning how to talk) and I have had positive experiences with multiple staff. They answered all my questions and were amazing to Mick. I think if you are hesitant or have questions, just give them a call because they were more than happy to answer all my (clingy crazy dog dad) questions. read more

I needed paw pad fur removed from my Maine Coon's feet, and was fine with them getting the mats from his nape. When I picked him up a few hours later, he looked like he'd just come out of surgery because most of the fur was shaved off around his neck! Just a couple of snips with scissors and combing it out is all that is needed, and what I usually do. They also shaved halfway up his two back legs! PAW. PAD. FUR. Guess where that fur is. There are chunks of fur missing on his body that I can't even comprehend the purpose of. $105 for the removal and what they called a groom. Don't. That's my best advice. read more

I took him to the vet emergency room and my pup was prescribed weeks of medication and had lost over 7 pounds. We brought our puppy to Pet Paradise for boarding back in October for 2 nights and it went well. Well enough for us to bring him back this past weekend for 3 nights. This time was a very different experience. We picked up our dog and noticed a little dry blood in his neck. We thought nothing of it; dogs play rough sometimes and things happen. We figured if it was anything to be concerned about, surely Pet Paradise would have let us know. We gave him a bath the next day and he bled a little more so we poked around his thick fur (he's a husky) and noticed what appeared to be a small wound. This prompted me to call Pet Paradise to see if anything had happened. When I called, the lady on the phone informed me that they do a health and wellness check every day and there were no reports of a wound or any incident. We cleaned the wound and monitored it for a while. The NEXT day, the wound was swollen and began to smell so we knew something was wrong. We brought him to the vet and the vet advised that it appeared our dog had been aggressively bitten many times around the throat. The vet shaved the infected area and examined our dog to reveal bite marks on both sides of his throat, drastic swelling, and significant bruising all over. The vet advised that it appeared as though a dog latched onto our dog a few times and thrashed around. My dog is now on 2 antibiotics and pain medication, and is very low energy and just not himself. At this point, I am furious. I understand accidents happen and that they are animals, but the whole point of bringing my dog to boarding is to make sure he is well taken care of and watched over while we're away. One small bite would have sucked, but I would have understood. For the employees to not be aware of such a significant and vicious attack on my dog is absurd. Either they knew about it and chose not to inform us, or they just weren't doing their job and were not supervising play but either scenario is extremely unacceptable. I reached back out to Pet Paradise via email multiple times and still haven't received a response. Their one job was to watch over my dog while I was away and they failed to even do that & it is icing on the cake for them to fail to rectify the situation as well. read more

SENT US HOME WITH THE WRONG DOG!!!!! We dropped both of our dogs off for one day and picked them up today. When we get home, one of the dogs (chocolate lab) was completely freaked out and wasn't recognizing us and we were sure the dog was not ours. Our cat was hissing at it. We loaded the dog back into the car immediately and took it back. When we got there they said they gave us the wrong dog because they had a mix up in the back where the collars of multiple chocolate labs were lost and they did their best to match each dog to the picture. But the did not mention ANYTHING to us when we picked them up. Complete neglect on part of the staff and the management. When we picked up the real Sammy, they had BATHED her without us asking them to. Completely sketchy. We're assuming she probably urinated on herself since she was so scared and so they bathed her. She HATES BATHS!!!! And her nose is completely raw from trying to get back to the crate with her brother, since who KNOWS at what point in their stay this could've happened. So many things had to go wrong for this to happen. We have kept our dogs here in the past but this will be our last time we ever give these people business. Please be aware before you book a reservation. We booked a stay for our baby while my husband had brain surgery. He ended in ICU with complications. When I called them to extend our pets stay, they said they were booked up and could not keep him longer. No exceptions. I was three hours away and was not leaving the hospital. For a while they had great groomers, but they never stay long Last week, I had to book the appointment twice, since the first time the groomer didn't even bother to show up to work. So I had to reschedule with a so called "more experienced groomer". I explained that one of my dogs is a rescue, and was assured it wouldn't be a problem, we'll it was. She was a hot mess. I had to do a clean up job with her when I got home. Now I have to try to find another groomer. If you can't handle rescues that are very sensitive just say so up front, and stick to the easy ones. read more

We tried this place for the first time recently and I am overall very pleased with my first visit. Major seemed to be well taken care of and definitely enjoyed his playtime every day he was there for the weekend. The staff had a lot going on when I dropped him off but made me feel like I was the only customer In the waiting room which I appreciated. She did not rush the check-in process despite having several other dogs and their hoomans waiting. My only critiques are, one that the location is pretty far out than being located more centrally in Tallahassee. I will also say that you have to pay an extra five extra dollars for pictures and an update on your pet. I I feel like that should be included in the overall package of your dog staying at the facility. However, the pictures that were taken and the "report card" was super cute. And while we're on the topic of "extras" you can pay an extra three dollars for ice cream and your pet's stay does include two sessions of playtime. Each additional session is $10. Lastly, first timers get half off on their boarding or day camp visit. That was missed during my check out but they quickly processed a refund when I brought it to their attention. read more

It's hard to find a place to bring your dog when you need to leave them. There is a variety of dog boarding places in Tallahassee and honestly many of them are cheaper than Pet Paradise but none can compare to the quality. Our dog is very weary of new people and places. He's a rescue but he hasn't quite overcome how he was treated before he came to us. HOWEVER he LOVES Pet Paradise! The first time we brought him here he hung onto my leg crying. The second, third, and now fourth time we brought him to Pet Paradise he runs in with his tail wagging and never looks back! We opted for the text photos the first trip and could see our dog loving life and playing well with others. My only complaint is the cost of additional play time. I know it costs more to have staff monitor dogs but that should be included in my opinion so be conscious of the add-ons if you book here. Otherwise we love Pet Paradise. They have friendly staff, a clean facility, and most importantly my dog always loves to come to play and stay in a clean and fun environment. Pet Paradise is a bit out of the way for me but I still make the drive anytime I need to board my beloved dog. After boarding him a few times at my vet, he experienced a lot of anxiety, but at Pet Paradise he hasn't had the same problems. I think this has to do with the fact that the dogs get ample play time during their stay. I love tuning into the video live stream and watching my dog play! Honestly the staff is very friendly and at first I was very happy with them, I called to see if I could come in just for a nail trim, they said I could come in and it would be about 10 minutes. When I came you could tell they were very overbooked with dogs. It looked very chaotic with how many dogs they had together in the play area. They also seemed quite understaffed. The staff was very friendly and good with assisting me. When they had me wait in my car for my dog they said they would bring him out and it would be about 10 minutes. After 20 minutes I called and asked them if my dog was almost done. she was very kind about it and said she would talk to the groomer to see, when she came back on the phone I was told that his nails were done, but, he had gotten cut with the clippers and they were waiting for the bleeding to stop to bring him out. I get that things happen, but why is the first time I'm hearing about it when I'm calling you. I feel like if something like that were to happen, even if it's minor, you should call the owner and inform them. The staff seems chaotic, unorganized and overwhelmed, while I do not blame them, I blame the lack of management or lack of employees. I come from a customer service background and I know it can get a bit chaotic, but I still don't see why you wouldn't inform the pet parent, especially when the grooming service is over. I was very understanding and still am, i just know many other people who wouldn't take that lightly with their pets. Look into more staff and grooming training, more staff, and don't overbook dogs so things aren't rushed and stuff like this won't happen. Now after reading other reviews I see this is a consistent issue of not properly informing owners. read more

I've been taking my miniature schnauzer Toby to Pet Paradise for a little over a year now and I recommend this place to everyone who is looking to board their dog. It can be a little pricey but it's definitely worth the money because they take such good care of the dogs and there's no facility like Pet Paradise. I never had an issue at any of the resorts that I've been too (Tallahassee, St. Augustine, Gainesville, and both resorts in Jacksonville). They're all awesome! I recently had Toby groomed during a weekend stay by Jorge and he did an amazing job on Toby and I've been to a few groomers in Tallahassee and Jorge by far did the best job! I will definitely be taking Toby to get groomed again by Jorge. I also like how staff takes the time to send report cards home during pick up and the picture updates are always good. I did not know they fill out report cards also on how he did during grooming and that was also good to see how Toby was during the process. I strongly suggest you take your pup here for boarding as he/she will have so much fun! read more

I almost forgot to leave a Yelp review -- they definitely deserve every one of these 5 stars! We have a 130 lb Great Pyrenees and a 60 lb mutt that are spoiled to death. Leaving them somewhere that is not within our friends care is a big deal to us. We heard about Pet Paradise from a friend and got our first nights boarding for free (if you give someone as a referral you get a free night AND you get your first night for free if you have not been so that is 2 free nights or 1 free night with 2 dogs). And I forgot to mention that they were not pushy at all about rebooking or extra services with the free nights. That is a huge plus is my book in terms of service-- they don't pressure you at all or make you feel uncomfortable because you got free nights. The set up seems like they keep the dogs indoors (Florida heat does NOT agree with our pups) in turf runs. It was big enough for our two dogs and it seemed like the smaller dogs also got similar sized runs. The runs are in chain links so they can see everything going on around them AND they are visible through the window to the front desk (and there was staff everywhere). They were let out a few times into the main area which had a pool for the dogs (bone shaped, haha!). Seemed like all the dogs were well behaved when we were there and no nipping dogs or anything. Since it was our first time we got their little picture package thing as a sample and got pictures of them playing! LOVED that! If we stay again we will probably splurge on it... Their prices seem steep, but to me it is worth it for the new nights a year we are separated from our pups. We are no longer in the area, but will definitely be on the lookout for Pet Paradise because from what I understand, they are a small chain. Tallahassee is lucky to have this facility! read more

So fun for my doggo Remi! He loved every minute of it. As a busy pet parent, i feel guilty when we can't play with him as much as we should. My whole family loves Pet Paradise! They're great with my sometimes skittish dog, and treat her really tenderly (she was abused). They even allow her to stay with my parents dog even though they are two different sizes. Overall, pretty good! I have been a consistent customer for almost four years now, and I really do appreciate the great service and pawgress reports. Their communication is excellent. However, after we recently picked her up from a six day stay, she reeked. Not sure if it was because it was in the Christmas season, but the odor was so awful that I wondered if she lived in such dirty conditions the whole time. I brought my sweet little pup here for a weekend stay and was very pleased. She really seemed to have a good time - I can always tell when I pick her up - if she is mad at me she shows it but her tail was wagging and seemed to love being held by the gals that work here. I received a Pawgress report which I love so I know how her stay was. The facilities are indoors and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I feel very comfortable leaving my pup with them! His tail starts wagging as soon as we park, he goes straight inside and might hesitate when I leave him in doggie daycare, but after taking him for a few days he doesn't even look back. I have the sweetest, kindest, pitbull who has TWO letters of recommendation that were OFFERED by her last two day cares in case needed. My girl stayed there for 3 days. They charge an extra 10$ JUST TO SEND YOU A PHOTO AND EMAIL ABOUT YOUR DOG'S STAY. That should just be common courtesy. I requested a nail clipping, and that didn't happen. I went to pick her up and I asked how she was. They said she was great and very sweet but didn't want to play. They also said she didn't want her nails clipped. Well okay, I guess. But my dog loves other dogs at the park and at every daycare she has been to, she never wants to leave! So they email you to write a review and I said I wouldn't recommend it. I was not offered a tour of the place, the dogs are all in attached cages which isn't healthy for any dogs. I've never seen that anywhere. I watched as they just put her in a cage and left her there. SO HERE IS WHAT PISSED THIS STRONG FUR MOTHER OFF. The manager called, and asked why I left a '0' on their email review. I told her everything, also that she was shaking when I picked her up and she had diarrhea. Also that they didn't clip her nails, no tour, and the extra charge for an update of your pup. She gives me some terrible news.."Your dog was a yellow dog. She wasn't comfortable with other dogs would sit in the corner and shake." So I said to her, "WHY wasn't I called immediately about this? And why was I told she was great when I went to pick her up?" She replies, "Well we don't tell the owner if the dog is a yellow dog, that is just more like a warning." I said, again, "Clearly, my dog was very uncomfortable, I should have absolutely been called because I would come pick her up right away. If it was your child, wouldn't you want to know?" She said yes. The she put me on hold because an employee who was with my dog walked in. So the manager wanted to ask the employee about my dog. She gets back on the phone and this is what she said next. "Your dog was growling and snarling at the employees and wouldn't let them come into her cage to feed her." ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME?!?!?!??!!??!?! If I wasn't at lunch, I would've lost it over the phone. I told her, "WHY WASN'T I CALLED ABOUT THIS? AND WHY IS THIS NEWS TO YOU?! " I was absolutely disgusted. My child was so afraid and no one dared tell me about it. She offered me free daycare, which I agreed. Then after I hung up, I banged my head on the table because of course I would never take my child back there. So I took her to Mojo's Backyard the next weekend and my dog is as much in love with them as they are with her. And it's PLAY ALL DAY FOR HALF THE PRICE. No ridiculous add-ons. Just doggies being doggies and they post pics everyday on Facebook of your dog having a blast. read more

I've been taking my little Italian Greyhound, Lola, to Pet Paradise when I go out of town for years now. It is super clean and organized, and the staff is always friendly and happy to see you and your dog. It's so nice when I go in and they recognize Lola. Since I adopted another IG, he has been a few times with Lola. I am completely confident in the care they provide and how much love you can see they have for the dogs (and cats). My two pups LOVE it there, and I can tell the staff enjoys playing with and taking care of them. I never have to worry about them while I am away when they stay at Pet Paradise.
