PLEASE listen to the reviews before bringing your dog here for grooming. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt and brought my puppy in for his first ever puppy haircut. I was VERY thorough about what kind of haircut I wanted for him, the hair cut level and even showed example pictures. I scheduled an appointment for 2pm and he apparently wasn't done until 20 minutes to close. I was literally horrified when they brought my dog out, he was COMPLETELY bald and his nails were BARELY trimmed. I was at a loss for words and I have a strong feeling she knew she messed up because she took so long to let me know he was ready. What was the point of scheduling an appointment IN ADVANCE at 2 if they weren't going to take him right away? This is his before, after and the example picture I showed her. My poodle now looks like a hairless rat, thanks Christine!

    Lovely note

This was my second time taking our dog there. Both times have been super easy, the girls are very pleasant, and they are efficient. Definitely recommend! Today we had Vendela, and she did a great job, even left a note in the Pawgress Report that my 8 year old daughter loved reading!

Since my previous review is almost a year old, I figured it's time for an update. The employees here are AMAZING. I can't say enough good things about them. I recently saw one employee after several weeks, if not months, and she remembered Callie and gave us some good advice. They truly treat your dogs like family, and it's nice to be surrounded by staff and customers alike who love dogs and aren't bothered or scared when my pup wants to say hi! We've completed another training class and I highly recommend Jenn as a trainer. She is fun and knowledgable. I am still using the grooming salon, although Callie still doesn't like it and I'm not sure the groomers like her either (since she's terrified and a little mouthy)... but the prices and coupons can't be beat compared to other places. They are pretty quick too I love this place- even though it's a "big box" store it has a homely neighborhood feel and fantastic customer service. I'll definitely continue to support them.

I am very pleased with our groomer Amanda. She works well with our dog Luke who has been known to nip @ his groomers. Amanda always makes Luke look handsome...almost impossible because my boy already is handsome As for the petsmart location I am partial to the customer service. I have always received good customer service but when there is a store event going on it is hard to find two people on the same page and that becomes a problem for me. Otherwise overall great store.

On our way to Petsmart! It's our favorite outing!

Easy to book the babies boarding online and via text messages with the facility. Boarding was reasonable I suppose. We haven't had to board them before but now don't have anyone to take care of them anymore when we are away since losing my daddy. Ran $65/night for the both of them plus new clients get 1 night free. When dropping off, they didn't want to go in given this place is attached to a veterinarian office and has that smell that fur babies hate. But dropped off and reassured them that we'd see them soon. Drop off and pickup times are set and have to drop them by 3pm and can pickup as early as 7am. The facility was very prompt in communicating. I got pictures and a report card with summary of their stay on their last day of boarding. Pickup was easy but Bingo must've had an accident that morning and instead of cleaning him up before me picking him up, he had poop smeared on his butt and back side. Good thing I packed blankets for the ride home. Had to give him a bath as soon as we got home. Boy did he stink! Overall good experience other than the pickup poop incident and pictures on the last day rather than during their stay. I kept wondering how my babies were doing. They were so happy when mom was there to get them!!!

We visited the New Tampa Pet Resort during the week that we were planning to kennel our dog Deuce - a healthy 22 lb. West Highland White Terrier that we have had since he was 8 weeks old. We told them that we have a very skittish dog, and that we did not want him interacting with other dogs. We were promised (and paid for) 3 supervised daily walks on a leash away from the other dogs in the kennel. They told us that they could handle our requests. My wife and I dropped off Deuce at 3 PM on Friday, October 17th. My wife talked to the receptionist and confirmed the instructions; they were laughing between the two of them that they were struggling to spell the word "skittish" as the receptionist was documenting this. We dropped him off and prepared to travel out of town the next morning for the weekend. We were outside our home in Tampa 3 hours later, and we received a voicemail that no pet parent wants to receive - our dog was injured, and they were taking him to the vet. No information about what vet they were taking him to or the extent of his injuries. We quickly sorted that out and went to the VEG emergency pet facility on Dale Mabry. He was mauled by a 200 lb. bull mastiff after New Tampa Pet Resort placed him in an outside dog run with a hole in the fence surrounded by over 50 large dogs. We were at VEG for over 6 hours. Deuce received over 100 internal and external stitches, and we left the hospital with a dog that had a drain tube hanging from his body. We had to go back to VEG four more times in the following 2 weeks to address complications with the surgery and eventually drain tube and stitch removal. The response from New Tampa Pet Resort was a combination of indifference and protecting themselves legally. The local manager apologized the day after the incident and told me that they screwed up. They showed me the hole in the fence, of course it had been covered up with a piece of temporary fencing. The instructions that my wife communicated to the receptionist on two separate occasions had magically disappeared. The cameras in the fenced area that were there before the hurricanes have not been replaced. A regional manager for New Tampa Pet Resort's parent company reached out to us a couple of days after the attack and told us that their insurance company would handle the rest. We never heard from a single person at the New Tampa Pet Resort facility again. Pets are designated as property in Florida, so unless your pet dies under their care your legal options are limited. Their insurance company would only reimburse us for our lost travel expenses if we kept quiet. No thank you. We now have a wonderful member of our family who is afraid to go outside for fear that he will be attacked again. Daily walks are difficult; we must take great care that there is no interaction with other people and certainly no other animals. Our dog will never be the same.

Don't do a full body hair cut under any circumstances, just a sanitary trim around the paws, ears and eyes. When I picked up my dog, they had shaved her underside, given her a full body cut and chopped off all her whiskers. If that were the only issue then I would walk away from this knowing that the groomers simply just don't know how to listen to what pet owners want. That was the least of my concerns. My dog has gone to the groomer every 4-6 weeks since she was adopted (that's 2 years of regular grooming and vet visits) and has never had any issues. This was my first visit to this groomer and they ripped off her entire toe nail. I had to take my dog to the vet and spend hundred of dollars on antibiotics and treatment for her toe, and she's now in a cone. When this occurred, rather than calling me or informing me as soon as I arrived, they charged me and flipped the screen around for a tip and took 10 minutes to bring out my dog and then told me what happened. They accused my dog of having a loose toe nail to begin with. No apology, no offer for anything, not even any acknowledgment that it could have been a result of their grooming practices. I guess in some scenario that could be possible. However, my dogs entire toe was covered in blood and a weird substance they used to stop the bleeding (didn't tell me what it was or what was in it or ask before applying it), so I'm not buying the "your dogs toe nail just fell off story." It seems like your staff was trying to absolve responsibility from themselves. Unfortunately, this groomer doesn't even do the due diligence of having clients sign a form acknowledging the potential of accidents like any other establishment I have been to that's worth anything, so I do in fact hold you fully responsible. I also asked my vet to describe a scenario in which a dog's nail would come off in its absolute entirety during grooming because I have never heard of that happening and was horrified. My vet said he had never heard of a dog's nail "just being loose and falling off." My vet said this would only occur if a dog was moving around and the groomer tried to force the service rather than stopping. That checks out to me, as one of the first things I said about my dog when I dropped her off is that she can be wiggly with her feet at first if she isn't able to inspect the tools that groomer is using and to just do the best you could. If she was too wiggly to have her nails safely cut, they should not have been touched. In that scenario, it is the groomer's responsibility to say they cannot safely do something at the moment and stop. I would rather my dog have overgrown nails any day than an entire missing one that will take months and months to grow back and requires soaking in antiseptics and antibiotics to avoid infection. I can trim nails at home. I cannot manufacture a new toe nail from the air. However, the staff insisted at the front that they had nothing to do with the accident and it must have been an issue with her whole nail to begin with. Perhaps the negligent staff here thinks they know more than a veterinarian. Perhaps they're delusional and genuinely believe it wasn't their fault. Perhaps they're just cruel to animals for people's money and then move on with their day. That's their business, not mine. But to the dog owners thinking of taking your dog here: Do not. Under any circumstances. They are irresponsible and they will hurt your pet and they will not own up to it.
