Pet Smart is one stop shop for pet supplies, accessories and more. Came in for the first time looking for a bug/flea spray. We have fleas in the house!!! Uggghh!!! We don't even have dogs or any pets and our house is very clean. We visited a friend with dogs and I was petting and playing with them. We're thinking their dogs might have fleas and some might have possibly hopped onto my leg and came home with me. Anyway, this review is for the awesome customer service I received. The woman who helped me find a good and effective flea carpet spray was really nice. She was knowledgeable with the products and even gave me some tips on how to get of fleas! The first time, I went to Pet Smart Grooming, I loved the haircut and the service. This second time, no one else would sign our dog in, as our groomer was late. No eye contact nor acknowledgement from the tardy groomer. There was no teamwork among the other groomers. There was no supervision. I specifically requested to not cut the hair on the dog head. It got cut anyway, along with only the right side of the eyelashes. The pick up time promised was delayed by an hour and a half. I have lost my trust in Pet Smart's Grooming Service. Took one of our huskies to get groomed. Last minute booking which was awesome. Our female did great in grooming so thumbs up to the groomer.

When I first got my puppy, I had 4 different people tell me that I absolutely HAD to take her to training with Lisa S at this Petsmart. Clearly, they knew what they were talking about as I have now taken all 4 classes that they offer. I can not say enough great things about her... she is one of the most patient people I have ever met and very clearly LOVES dogs. I have seen dogs absolutely transform in her classes. I also use the doggy day camp 1-2 times a week and am very satisfied. Everyone that works there knows my dog by name and is always very excited to see her. I never worry about her being there and know that she is always having a good time. I haven't boarded my little girl there yet but plan on doing so in August, September and November. read more

It really is a marriage of heaven and hell. You really can't beat the selection. You really can't beat the prices. You really CAN beat the largely indifferent, uneducated staff. If you know what you want though, you can't beat PetSmart. Best thing about this store: They honor competitors' coupons. I take my Centinela 10-15% off coupons there now and save tons off of their already-low prices. AND you can't beat their very, very liberal return policy. Yet they sell live animals, including birds and reptiles. They also sell chinchillas and rats and the like. Personally, I think that is irresponsible and unkind. Impulse buyers purchase these animals, then don't know how to care for them and/or grow bored with them. I'm sure most die pretty quickly. Others take longer to die. Still others are abandoned outside. Some are relinquished to shelters. Just bad all-around. There's no reason for selling animals. Just allow the rescue groups to do it, as they do on weekends with dogs and cats. The staff is not qualified to properly care for the various & sundry critters they sell. Very bad for overnight boarding. My dogs lost weight and were sick when I picked them up. Plus I paid to have my dogs go to the day camp during the day but when I came early to pick them up, they were back in the cages and dirty like they had been left there a long time. read more

If I could give 2 1/2 stars based on today's experience, I would. The young kid that initially helped me on the sales floor had next to zero personality, and was actually quite irritating. To the point that I actually had to tell him that I no longer wanted his assistance. The young lady that came over after him was much better, and even stated that the product I was looking for required a manager's assistance, and that she would not be able to give me a knowledgeable recommendation. Now that - I can appreciate. She is the reason for 2 of the 3 stars for sure. I do have to say though - that even the manager was incorrect in her product knowledge. I was looking for specific options in my purchase, and she made incorrect statements about the product I finally purchased. I didn't care to correct her in the store because I had to wait 20 minutes for her to come back to help me. If I wasn't so set on purchasing my product, I would have left for sure. She was very apologetic about keeping me waiting though, so I'll let it slide. Just a little. read more

Well we did not think there would be more to write about this store. However, due to the substandard nature of service from the pet food and supplies store side of the store, we thought we should let others know. Tonight we went to do our usual shopping for pet food and treats for our pets. However, several things were not right. The first thing wrong was that upon entering the store, there was only one large shopping cart and it was stuck onto the smaller size carts. It took a bit of wrestling to dislodge it. It looks like no one bothered to bring in the carts from the outside parking lot. The next thing was that as we went down the aisle there was a store employee who came from the other direction there was a narrow section so we both could not pass the other. We just stopped to let her through but she was rather rudely silent like we were a bother to her. Then as we got in line (there was only one open), we noticed a cart nearby with cardboard in it looks like some pet food cans were taken out and perhaps placed on the shelves. The problem is that it caused another bottleneck which made it hard for people to walk past it. Finally, there was a customer who had a problem with her making her purchase by credit card so it made everyone else wait. Another customer asked that another register be opened. Nothing. But when a customer cussed out loud that it was taking too long, then more cashiers came and opened up more lines but with the attitude like they thought this was all funny. While we patiently waited, one employee took the person behind us. The customer said we were there first. But we said go ahead. In the meantime, we were stuck in the slow line. Needless to say it caused people to feel very uncomfortable. Maybe Petsmart employees don't want to work on a Saturday night. But such lack of care and unprofessional conduct will simply cause customers to patronize elsewhere. read more

If you want to get out of your house with your dog, but don't want to deal with the heat like at the dog park, then take them to Petsmart! Not only is there A/C, but other friendly animals shopping with their owners as well. Considering it is a facility that allows animals, they keep the cleanliness at this location up to par; there are even areas with hand sanitizer and wipes in case your animal can't hold it. Not only is this a fun place to bring your dog and shop, but it's pretty much a one stop shop for pet owners. They have a grooming facility inside with a large window so you can see in and see your pet. I've noticed the dogs seem to enjoy it and don't feel so secluded, but more importantly I enjoy it as the owner so I know my dog is clean and safe. I've also enrolled 2 of my dogs in their beginners dog training class and I could not be happier with the results. Both dogs behavior improved dramatically after their training; it seems the younger you start them the better chance you have of the results sticking. I haven't been to many other locations, but with all the amenities they offer, as well as excellent pricing, I can never imagine myself going anywhere else! read more

I love their grooming! I too used to hate on Petsmart's grooming because i was always told they suck and they're rude blah blah blah but they're great! I told them exactly what i wanted and they gave it! I was worried because my dog was adopted within this year and she is still scared of others and snaps but they handled her with care and said she did good. I will definitely be using them! read more

Overall, we really like this place for all our pet supply needs. We had a problem with a return but Pat (Manager) was very understanding and helped rectify the problem. We enrolled our doggie in their obedience classes with Robert and Lisa and we can definitely recommend them. They were highly skilled and our little guy really became a model citizen! I wasn't too impressed with their grooming section though. The first time was ok. His second visit resulted in getting a nail cut too short which started bleeding. Our last visit resulted in inconsistent trim lengths and splintered nails. I don't think we'll be going back for grooming anytime soon. read more

I love PetSmart, and so does my dog. Somehow she seems to recognize petsmart as the place she gets treats at the register. I come here for all my doggie needs. From prescription food, to treats to grooming. They have everything you need! My dog does NOT like having her nails done, there is NO way she is letting me do it so I always bring her to PetSmart. They do a great job with her and get her in and out in no time. This location also has a veterinary office, training, doggie day care & a pet hotel. So convenient! read more

My boyfriend and I like this place MUCH better than petco, they seem to have more products to chose from and the prices are a little cheaper too. We also come here for the grooming, for both our doggies. We have never had a problem with them and they take great care of them. We buy their food billjacs from here, we havent found it anywhere else. We're hoping that they get their Banfield Animal Hospital up and running very soon, because it has been there for a while and nothing has happened. read more

I started coming to this store as it's on my way home from work. I would give it 4 or more stars as every visit I have received excellent service however I am so put off by what I just witnessed by the woman who appeared to be the manager I may not return. There was a gentleman wearing a wedding ring with a young child whom she was hovering around like a fly around a light. When he didnt give her attention she blatantly went to the cash to flirt and try to start a conversation with him. Not professional of her at all and kudos to the gentleman for making an obvious effort to be both diplomatic but show his lack of interest. My review is basically on the grooming salon. I took my dog here for a grooming and 3 hrs later he was ready. I am a very satisfied customer. The groomer did an amazing job. This store is great. :) It has everything you need for your pet's needs. My dog Bokshil and I took two dog training classes with Lisa. She was great, and got Bokshil to be a little bit more socialized. My dog is very shy but has become a lot more warmer to people and other dogs. I also learned how to help better manage/ control my dog through the class. I haven't tried any other services (i.e. grooming or pet hotel) but the experience within the store and the classes have been great. read more

This review is for Petsmart on PCH. This is my second review. Store staff are very good and helpful, but not the daycare staff to whom I give a minus star! Incompetent. And rude! Two days ago I made reservations for day camp for our puppy. This morning, once pet smart employee saw the coupon for a free day camp (though from pet smart) refused to keep our puppy. Her excuse was its a rainy day and there was no reservation made!! Bull$$$$! Another excuse was that our puppy is intimidated and is very shy!! Our puppy plays with all ages and all kinds of dogs and has stolen the hearts of all other dogs in neighborhood! She kept repeating that he was clinging to my husband to prove her point that he is intimidated! I didn't know there is a criteria to pass before they accept dogs!! Yes he was intimidated but not because he is shy, it could be he had a horrible experience when we left him with them for a whole week in summer. She said they had a rough time with him then!! I'm not sure who had the rough time! Yes, they could have had a rough time because they could not manage him nor cared to show him any affection ... Not trained enough!! If Petsmart has a criteria, then inform the customers!! Now, we realize why our puppy was clinging to my husband and begging not to be left there! Two bad experiences for him in there was enough for the rest of his beautiful life! No more grooming nor hotel! Hope Petsmart will be smart to manage their staff! read more

Shannon was especially great keeping us up to date on how Tera was doing...even on her day off! After seeing how she took care of the dogs, I was very comfortable leaving Tera in her hands. This review is specifically for the petshotel and the girl behind the counter with the blue hair, Emily. The past couple of interactions I've had with her she seems annoyed. My dog scraped between one of her toes on the car ride to the hotel. I shouldn't have said anything but made this woman aware when she was checking my dogs in so that she didn't think it happened at the hotel. This woman glanced at it and said her paw was "actively bleeding" and because of this she could not accept my dog in the hotel and I'd have to find elsewhere to take her, no apology or anything. This woman has ZERO customer service skills. She gave me a sheet with boarding places in the area, only one problem, none of these places are open yet (8:30 am) and I live about an hour away from these locations with a flight in a few hours. Guess I'll have to leave my dog alone for 2 nights because Emily was having a bad day! read more

I have recently taken my fur baby here for the first time for grooming. I had an appointment at 5; I was a few minutes late but they still took her in. I filled out paper work and told the receptionist what I wanted and how I wanted my dog to look. ALMOST 3.5 hours later, they called me telling me that my dog's grooming is done. I pick her up and I was informed that they didn't have time to file her nails... it's not like they had over 3 hours with a grooming salon that was virtually empty. Fast forward to today, I just noticed that my dog has ear infection and has been lethargic ever since I picked her up from the groomers. I'm sure I'm never coming back here. It may be "cheaper" compared to other places but I'd rather spend a few more dollars for my dog's well being and be taken care of groomers who knows what they're doing read more

We took our pug Honeybun to get groomed here and were very happy with the job that Jessa did. Our doggie smelled so good and I wanted to snuggle her all day. She cleaned her ears very well and clipped her nails perfectly. We are picky about where we take her but will continue to return here after a good experience. read more

Very disappointed! I took my son to the store to get him a tortoise that he's been wanting for. I made a temporary set up for the turtle at home. The person helping us didn't want to sell the tortoise. I asked why, then he said that we are not ready based on his judgment. He said that we don't have the proper habitat. It sounded like he wants me to buy all the stuff from the store. Even the manager him self is not making sense at all. I came in the store to buy a turtle and to take good care of it, I guess base on my appearance, I am not capable of taking care of a small turtle. They have a good selection on leashes and collars. I got a shoulder leash for my dog, some sizable water and food dishes and those lids that are good for the canned wet food. The selection for dogs here is huge. A ton of food and accessories choices. I think I will be coming here from now on. Petco at Torrance crossroads was always so crowded and this place is just as good with less people. They have a pet hotel ($33 a night) and grooming ($19 for nails cut, I think) Have never tried it but it is convenient to have all that stuff and be able to buy pet supplies in one place too. If they add a dog park think would be like pet heaven for owners. read more

I really wish I could give this a no star. My dog finally got over her anxious defensiveness after several weeks but is still a little jumpy. Also, here we are 3 weeks later and we found small crusty, brown bumps on her ears that the vet said could be possibly infected knicks from her shaving. Honestly, this was the worst experience ever and is still causing problems. I realize there are some good groomers here so just make sure you pick wisely. Your average, everyday well-kept Petsmart. Clean, friendly and concerned staff, plenty of selection, adoption services, offers pet grooming and also pet hotel services. I don't particularly like the conditions of the birdcages. I stopped by an endcap to view a Senegal parrot who was quite active only to realize he was chewing the paint off of a toy bell attached to a branch he was sitting on. My argument is that, even if the paint was nontoxic, would you let your toddler sit and eat from a can of non-toxic paint with a spoon? Just because it's only a $200 bird doesn't make it less common sense to not feed a living thing paint. :P I informed a cashier of the issue as I was checking out, and she made sure to tell the general manager on my way out. Didn't stick around to see if the problem was resolved, but at least action was taken by an employee. Worth going back to. read more

Yesterday... July 4 - my husband went to Petsmart - this location - to get our 2 dogs thunder shirts. I had called the store earlier to see if they had any in stock. The girl told me they did that she would put them on hold for us. When my husband got to the store the information that was provided to me over the phone was completely incorrect... sizes & cost. So that girl really needs to focus. But the reason for the 5 stars is for Kimberly who approached my husband, asking if she can help him. He told her that I had called. & what he was looking for. Kimberly went through every measure possible to make sure that my husband got our dogs what they needed to get through the fireworks that night. My one dog Brady who is almost 10 years old has always been beyond petrified of the fireworks. Well being that this location didn't have anything available for our dogs Kimberly went beyond the call of duty and her responsibilities to help my husband in finding these thunder shirts. Kimberly we want to say thank you... not only going through the measures that you did - but for taking the time to help my husband. He come home talking about how great you were. It was quite a treat to have him walk in the door with nothing but compliments! For that I am extremely beyond grateful. He thinks that Kimberly is approximately 20 to 21 years old and when you work that diligently at this age it only shows that you will be nothing less than successful as you get older. My hope is that management sees your yelp review and acknowledges your success. Happy husband equals happy wife ... I love love LOVE this Petsmart! it is literally a stones throw away from our apartment, which is amazing for me and my two bullies!! We have been taking our now 19 month old English Bulldog, and 11month old pitbull to training for quite a few months. We have been training with BLYTHE for intermediate and now advance training and not only do we love it , but they love it!! they have learned so much from Blythe who is simply wonderful! she is very sweet and caring and incredibly smart! She provides a fun class for everyone and really teaches us all. Our pups are definitely going to continue with Blythe and hopefully soon will be CGC certified soon! Everytime we come in someone says hi and immediately wants to play with the pups and help us out, there is always someone around to answer your questions and help you with whatever you need. We have also used the grooming station, briefly and had our Petbull had her nails clipped, super quick and easy :) Love this place, and Love Blythe and Lisa! Thanks!!! read more

The staff isn't very friendly. I asked the cashier to staple the receipt to the bag, she tried it once and it didn't do it. She just said our staples don't work that good. Not friendly at all. And why do they need the actual credit card for a return? Every place else I go, they don't need it. I just returned something to Macy's and they scanned my receipt and that's it. We've made many visits since getting our new standard poodle puppy in September 2017. He has been groomed 3 times and boarded twice. There was a problem on his first boarding, he had feces in his fur., but they made it right by bathing him and not charging us for any of it. read more

I don't know if I will Change this review later but I went in to see if I can hold a baby ball python and to see if they had any they, they did and the staff were really nice about it. Tho I don't think that they know much about ball pythons lol I did not buy it that day but I went back the next day and the guy who helped me with the snake was a bit more educated on ball python.
