I took my Pomeranian here to be groomed after coming here for years. Ever since she was groomed on Saturday she has been scrapping her butt on the ground and crying. The groomer completely shaved her bottom and now bare skin is exposed. She is pain and I had to take her to the vet. I called the groomer to inquire about what happened and why this happened. They said they would call me back but didn't. My dog was completely fine before I took her here and now she is scatching her bottom so bad that it's bleeding. Every since this place changed ownership it has gone completely downhill. They didn't even tell customers they are new owners! I just noticed because of the pricing difference and I ran into an ex employee at the grocery store. I'll never come back here again. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. read more

After over 20 years of using Grooming Wonders the staff of the new owner let my Frenchie get overheated. She was there for 2 hours and when I picked her up she was in full distress and the staff has no idea. I rushed her to Access ER and her temp was 105 per the admitting Doctor. 2 days and $3500 later they released her.THE MOST SCARY SITUATION EVER!!!! I tried for weeks to contact the owner through the staff. When he finally called ,he didn't seem to care at all. He told me to have my Attorney send him a email.....we still haven't received a response. I just want him to do the right thing. read more

Read some reviews before going in and looked like the one star reviews were all back from over 10 years ago. there weren't much new reviews but when I spoke to not sure if she was the owner over the phone she was very kind and I felt comfortable taking my dog in. I was looking for a near by grooming location because I just couldn't drive all the way to L.A for her grooming anymore. I am glad I tried Grooming Wonders. Front desk / Owner? was very friendly and professional. The place was very clean and they had individual crates for each dog which I really liked since my dog gets very scared around aggressive dogs. When we picked up Meringue (my dog) we wanted the hair around her eyes to be little shorter and they helped to get it done very quickly to meet our needs. Thank you Grooming Wonders. First time coming here, was recommended by a friend who used to take their dog here for years. The girl who worked at the front was SO sweet (forgot name sorry!) super friendly staff. My girl got a bath +nail trim AND teeth cleaned for only 70 and she's about 50lbs. This place has the best smelling dog shampoo. Whenever i have gotten her a bath at Petsmart and paid way more she doesn't smell like anything and feels like a waste. Grooming wonders is awesome! Not to mention it was super fast! I decided to bring my mini Goldendoodle to Grooming Wonders because my aunt has been a long time client of theirs with her standard Goldendoodle & has never had any issues or complaints. My pup has consistently come in since he was able (post-vaccine/rabies shots) about every 8ish weeks. He never leaves after his bath/haircut stressed which is definitely my first concern. They charge by the weight of your pup and super reasonable. After the first appointment we ever had, I'm able to just tell Diane "the usual" & he comes out just as I wanted each time. I've made some adjustments here & there depending on the time of year, but it's always spot on to what I'm looking for! (Let's be real, it's fur/hair. It'll grow back anyway! Lol) Our groomer, Rochelle, always seems gentle & friendly with him as well. Please keep in mind, they're a small business & human beings like you & I. Came home to find cuts all over my dog after a hair cut and wash from this place. When we confronted them about it they had no remorse and didn't offer an apology. One star because it doesn't allow negatives. This place is filled with people who seem to be in the wrong profession. If you don't love animals or have the patience to treat them as your own you shouldn't be working with them. Been coming to Grooming Wonders for about a year now and I still continue to love this place! They truly do such a great job and care about the animals. They are so accommodating, I called the day before and was able to get an appointment the next day. The girl at the front desk is always so sweet, not just on the phone, but in person too. (Wish I remembered her name!) Everyone that I've encountered there is so nice! Upon arrival, they greet Yoda and are so sweet to her. Yoda gets a full service bath- love how they include a nail trim, check her glands, and clean her sensitive little ears. I always add the teeth brushing too! Yoda always comes out of the groomers feeling happy and relaxed which is so important to me, especially because of her past bad experiences at other groomers. She even comes out smelling really good and her coat feeling super soft!! Don't forget to tip!! This business provides consistent care to pets and pet parents alike! My dogs always come back looking beautiful, smelling great, and tails are always wagging! I like watching the groomers interact with dogs being groomed (which can be seen from outside- Covid-19 protocol), as they are gentle and engaging with them. To book an appointment, just give them a call to schedule. They are accommodating and will get you in as soon as they can! The dogs are dropped off at the front door due to Covid-19, and payment is exchanged at the end when your dog is returned. I chose Grooming Wonders among allll the groomers around here because they have the cheapest prices! I called 3 or 4 different groomers, and they charged 30+. GW charged me $25 for Tubbie's bath! (Tubbie is a beagle, pug, bassethound mix - larger dogs will cost more... not sure how much). Scheduling an appointment: -very fast and easy -had the time and date I wanted available First Impression: -I could tell GW has seen its years. It seemed old, but I didn't mind. -I was surprised to see so many dogs being groomed (and those were the dogs that I could actually see) at 11 AM on a Friday. I'm sure there were more dogs in the back being bathed! Wait time: -I dropped off Tubbie at 11 AM. He got a standard wash, and I added teeth-brushing for $10. -I picked him up around 2 PM. Result: -Tubbie smelled SO GOOD! and he was SO SOFT! I have to admit that Tubbie was smelling really really stinky for a while. Even when I bathed him myself at home, he would still smell bad (he's an outdoor dog). -3 days later, Tubbie still smells good! -They put a cute little bow on his collar, which looks adorable on him. I took my dog there for the first time as It was highly recommended, the girl at the front desk was friendly, but she didn't make any contact with my dog, I asked for the groomer and she told me that she worked in the back before and that she could communicate with the groomer. It seemed like her boyfriend was just sitting there, he looked homeless, not a good first impression, when i came back, it all made sense, she wasn't even paying attention to my request for the haircut, my dog had a really bad haircut, they cut off all the hair in her legs! I specifically asked them to leave it the same length, only clean it up. but they cut about 3 inches off! the rest off it looks awful, the rest of her body looks uneven everywhere! I am so so unhappy with this is not even funny. she did say 'I'm sorry, but her length now, is long for us" ???? I'm sorry but, who asked your opinion? you were so busy with your boyfriend there that you rushed me off and, didn't pay any attention to my request. I was taking her to another groomer who is excellent, the only issue is that is far but, I will go back, also this place looks dated and not maintained, Also the groomers do not look happy, One of them had a dog and he was cutting him, 2 times the dog cried and all the guy did was hold him hard, he didn't try to comfort the dog or anything, this to me is a HUGE red flag, it seems like they do not enjoy their work, please find another profession where you can be happy. I expected the groomer to come and greed me since it was my first time but, oh boy. I am disappointed as this place was highly recommended but, I will not be going back. Was not pleased with their service. The 2 out of 3 times I took my baby there, he spent almost 6 hours in their shop! The first visit was very good that's why I brought him back the 2nd time. The 2nd time it took 5 hrs but I thought that was an exception. But the 3rd time was the last straw! They told me approximately 3 hours (again) but it took them almost 6 hours! Both times the excuse was that they were busy -- meaning they over-booked! Both times I made an appointment at least 2 weeks in advance. They should stop taking appointments if they think they will be overwhelmed. That's not right! And both times, I had to wait in the waiting room because they forgot to do something like didn't shave his back area or trim the hair around his paws. The last visit, my dog didn't want to come of the crate. I had to help them bring him out. And they shaved his stomach area so close that it caused his skin to bleed. I'm not going to torture my dog again so he's not going back! read more

Brought our large older golden retriever here a couple times for bath and haircuts. Must caution others about our last experience just last week. We picked up our dog to find him waiting in a crate much too small for him to even turn or move. It was exactly enough space to only lay down. We always inform them about his arthritis ahead of time and they have larger crates so makes no sense why they didn't use it. Even being leashed outside of a crate would have made more sense than putting him in a confined space where he couldn't stretch out at all! He was flat on his stomach and could not get out when we picked him up. We had to gently coax and pull him out. When he gained his bearings, his back leg kept giving out probably from all the pressure for prolonged period of time. When I asked employees what happened, no concern expressed at all. Nonchalantly saying he's old and just needs some time to get out was very disappointing. Our dog was struggling to walk back home so I called my husband to pick us up. He was in disbelief and went back in shop to ask the staff for explanation and hoped to talk to manager but to no avail. They had same unconcerned attitude with no offer to apologize or sympathize with our situation. The receptionist stated owner won't be in for another week. We ended up taking our dog straight to vet because he was limping. All around bad judgement on the crate decision and poor customer service on lack of empathy. Our poor dog had a cut on his chest from razor which wasn't even mentioned. $80 for bath with haircut, $65 for walk in vet visit & $70 for pain meds later..... Apology warranted from business?? I think so! :( *** 8/31- update: upon communicating with the owner, Diane, shortly after this incident, she took responsibility and reimbursed us for the vet visit and pain medication. Although Diane wasn't at the shop when this happened, she was very apologetic on behalf of her staff and ensured that appropriate training and protocols was discussed with our staff. We appreciate her professionalism as a business owner. read more

Love Grooming Wonders! I bring all 4 of my dogs here,yes 4! I've tried a couple of other places in the past, 1 being pets mart in Torrance. I was not pleased at all, I could have done a better job myself. We started bringing our older dogs Missy and Suki(poodle/ shih tzu mix and shih tzu) when they were pups. And now bring our 2 new additions, the twins, kioko and kenji(shih tzus) We always try to make all of their appointments on saturdays, drop off at 8am and pick up at 4pm, but they're usually ready earlier. It seems like a long time but I have high maintenance long haired pups, especially the twins lol. It can be pricey w/ 4 doggies(group discount???lol) but they do a great job!
