Doggy Daycare is really convenient with good staff working here. Great deals on dog treats and toys most of the time. The Beginner Class we enrolled our dog in was decent. We come here a lot regularly for treats (Buy "x" amount get the "x" free). They have large selections of training treats as well as larger ones to keep your dog occupied for a long period of time. Can easily walk out with $100+ in treats, however they last a long time because of the great deals and larger bag sizes. Daycare is great! You call a day or two before to make a reservation. It seems like you can bring your dog starting at 6am. The store isn't open yet, but you ring the bell and someone comes to the door to let you in. It's really convenient for us heading to work or just want to send our pup to play early in the day. Since the first time we dropped our Lab off at Daycare, she loves going, knows when we're en route to Petsmart at a certain time to take her, and is pulling the whole way to the counter and barking because she can't wait to go into the room with her other friends. They take really good care of the dogs there! The one training class we did here was okay. Not sure if it was because of the other participants in the class that were causing slow-downs and were asking a ton of questions that weren't really relevant to what we were doing, but some of the sessions seemed a bit dull. Trying to do training in an environment like that is tough in the store. Lots of smells, distractions, etc. for the dogs and having to sit close to other dogs makes it tough. One day in particular, where we were practicing walking, seemed almost impossible because we're walking through the eyes and the dogs are very interested n the other smells, toys, treats, and food that are in the aisles. We got a lot out of the class, but some days it was really hard to keep our dog occupied due to other disruptions. Overall, this Petsmart location is great! read more

Took our dog to get a haircut. All they did was shave his butt and put a line in his eyes. We had second hand embarrassment for the dog. They claim he wouldn't sit still. Duh, he's a dog. Took him to another place and they said he moved but as a dog groomer it's something they are used to. My guess is the staff was being lazy and just looking for an easy way to get money that night. My elderly cat now needs special renal food, Petsmart has a pretty good selection of both wet and dry. I like that you can buy individual cans instead of having to buy a whole case like several other stores I checked. That way I can try out a few different types to see what my cat likes before committing. I also like that they're doing curbside pick up during the pandemic. Place your order online, they get ahold of you when it's ready, park out front, call their number and they walk right out with your order. It doesn't get much easier than that. read more

I will NEVER take my dog back to the grooming salon. They do not know what they're doing. First they text me 2days before changing the groomer I picked on the schedule over six weeks before. Then when I arrived I explain to the groomer how I wanted my dogs hair to be trimmed not cut. I pick my dog up and did not recognize him. His hair was cut choppy and looked like someone was practicing on him. I will never take him back to this grooming salon again. I would give no stars if possible. read more

It's probably one of the smaller pet smart stores that I've been in. Just like any other pet smarts, it carries all the same products that it slings. Pet clothes, pet food, pet items, other types of pets, but I guess this is one of their hybrid shops. The reason why this Pet Smart is smaller is because of the pet hotel service. For a small fee of $30 or so per day. You dog can stay for the day with meals and walks 3x a day included. That's awesome!! Anyways, we were here for our doggies pampering.. wash, ears, teeth and manicure for around $21. It's usually $25, but they gave us the discount since it's the weekdays. Our dog went in, they took our number, we went out do some lolly gagging, a couple of hours later, they called us and we picked up our doggie all nice and shiny. These guys are actually pretty good, their customer service is nice, and their store is very well kept. I like this store,, i think I'll come back again and again and again and again. I am absolutely baffled by the HORRIBLE customer service experience we had with the doggy day camp this week. We have been bringing our dog to this hotel and day camp for years and have had almost no issues until they hired a new store manager, LINDSAY, in July. My mom went to pick up our dog from day camp yesterday and Lindsay said she needed to talk to her about our dog. She explained that our dog would no longer be allowed to come to day camp because as soon as he was dropped off that morning, he had blood in his urine and when they called my dad to pick him up, he allegedly said not to interrupt him while he is at work and that he would not come pick up our dog. Their policy is that if a dog has blood in his urine, they are not allowed to be around other dogs. Note that when my mom went to pick him up, he was playing with the other dogs in day camp. Lindsay said that BECAUSE my dad wouldn't pick him up, our dog is no longer allowed to come. My mom went outside and called my dad, who said that NO ONE FROM PETSMART HAD CALLED him that day. My mom then called me as I am one of the contacts on our dog's file, and I told her that no one had called me either. She went back inside the store to talk to Lindsay and told her that no one had called any of us to pick up our dog. Lindsay said that one of the employees called my dad RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER and SHE HEARD HIM SAY that he wouldn't pick our dog up. After confirming that the phone number they allegedly called was my dad's, my mom called my dad and put him on speaker and again asked him in front of Lindsay if anyone from Petsmart had called him. He again said that no one had called him. Lindsay turned to the other employee at the counter and ASKED HER if anyone had called, and the other employee said she doesn't know. My mom asked her why our dog had been playing with the other dogs when she came to pick him up if their policy was that dogs aren't allowed to be around other dogs if they have blood in their urine. Lindsay went into the back and asked the employee who was watching the dogs if our dog had peed while he was in there, and she said that he had NOT. Lindsay came back out and told my mom that SHE ACTUALLY HADN'T been there when someone allegedly called my dad because "there was an emergency in the store that she had to handle." When my mom called her out for LYING and saying that the phone call was made RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER AND THAT SHE HEARD MY DAD SAY HE WASN'T COMING, rather than admitting that she had lied or offering any sort of explanation, Lindsay began shifting the blame to other employees, saying that she has single-handedly fixed up 15 Petsmart locations and that she came to the Troy store to "fix it" up too. I have no words to express how angry I am with this situation and I cannot understand why Lindsay LIED about something like this. So long as Lindsay is the store manager, I highly advise not taking your dog to the day camp as they are not honest about what they are doing. I came here in October of 2020. I'm not impressed.. they don't hand feed the birds and when I bought one for my daughter the bird bites, flies away, anything you can imagine. So if you want to buy a bird here I recommend not to because they aren't hand fed. Hand fed birds are the best opinion and please hand feed your birds, pet smart. My daughters budgie hates us and my sister got a budgie from that was hand fed and warmed up to them right away. Overall the staff was very nice but please do better with the birds. Store is clean as well. I also see that they sell really small cages, not a big deal but please start selling bigger cages because birds need bigger room to fly and around and have fun. Petsmart Grooming review We have a 25 pound Shiba Inu (smaller version of the Akita) that sheds like crazy so we take her to Petsmart for a furminator treatment. They do a wonderful job and takes only 2 hours to complete. Price is great. They wash, brush and trim her nails for only $35. On the flip side, we also have a Chihuahua that has black nails. Some groomers do a good job with trimming and filing his nails but not all. Sometimes I pick him up and they are not so good and other times they are great. Very little consistency. The price is very high for what he gets. Nail trim, file and ear cleaning is $19. Sometimes you can get them on special for $11. The special is a good value but the regular price is too high. read more

I have taken my golden retriever here about 4 times just for nail trims and they have always done an ok job but not the greatest. This past time they did a hack job. My poor dog has three nails that were cut too short and his paw pads are all bleeding from being ground down too much. Not to mention they missed a lot of hair to cut in between the paw pads. Review of the Grooming Salon. The first time I've been compelled to write a review. My normal groomer was unavailable so I tried them on short notice (twice, cause I hoped the first time was a fluke when they shaved him in the winter without asking). Reasons why I won't go back: 1. They use choke leashes. My dog is adopted and didn't have the best treatment in the past. Using this type of leash was not welcomed and did more harm than correction. 2. It is a mill for grooming. They don't take time to get to know the dog and what it likes and doesn't like. Each dog is treated the same and we all know each dog has its differences. 3. Lack of care. My dog is timid due to his past, but they just put the leash on him and dragged him back to the station. It just seemed like we were an inconvenience. Like I said I tried them twice to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke, but they were horrible both times. I'd prefer to wait longer than to ever go back there again. read more

When we moved here, we brought our dog in for grooming (since we had done Petsmart in the past) but for whatever reason our dog just didn't like it there...so we now take her elsewhere. That said, my regular shopping visits have been no problem--the store is organized and clean, the employees are helpful and nice, they have a decent selection, and the cashiers are competent. My fur babies LOVE this Doggy Day Camp. The staff are caring and wonderful. I highly recommend this location. I've taken my two dogs - Rocky & Morgan - for years. I like that my dogs are free to roam all day with the other dogs. They are not put in a cage. My dogs are always so excited when we arrive. They drag me straight to the back. I took my puppy there for the second time today. The first time, she was just under 6 months, and they told me she was just a bit sensitive. When I took her there today, I went to check her in. Not only did they have a trainee trying to handle my dog (which would have been fine had she known what she was doing), but they were not trying to help her get used to them. She was being grabbed, and when they went to grab her feet, she started yelping. Instead of stopping, she continued to grab my dogs feet, until my dog tried to nip her. This all happened in a matter of 2 or so minutes. This was unprofessional and abusive. read more

Then we were told that they wouldn't use another shampoo and we couldn't bring our own. So he was just groomed, without a bath, the last time and they gave him a terrible haircut. I brought three of my dogs there this past weekend, two Bichons and a chocolate lab. There were going to stay from Friday morning to Monday morning because we were traveling to Tennessee. However, we decided to leave Tennessee early and pick them up Sunday evening. I called Petsmart as soon as they opened on Sunday and advised them of this and that we wanted an exit bath. My fiance and I get there and the employee was helping another customer to which she was happy and excited to talk to, give a report card and really seemed to make the customer comfortable. After that customer left it all fell apart. The employee barely acknowledged us. We told her who we were there for and she didn't say anything about our dogs stay just told us what we owed. She had nothing to say about our dogs, which is fine. I figure I would just wait on the report card to find out how their weekend was. Well they brought my lab out and he was shaking uncontrollably. Then my Bichons came out and they seemed fine. They all had baths but did not smell clean. The guy that brought them from the back was clueless. He didn't bring out any of the toys or extra food we brought for them. We had to remind him. I asked for the report cards and the woman employee says she didn't do then because we picked them up early but mind you I talked to them at 8am and we didn't pick them up until 5pm which is plenty of time. I figured they would keep daily notes on their interactions from daycare and just being there. Then we noticed our labs tail had a bunch of hair missing and had been bruised and bleeding. My fiance asks the woman employee about it and she said he had "happy tail" which means he was hitting his tail on the gate. Well he was supposed to be in a suite that we paid extra for that should not have a gate but a nice room a tv. I was really upset because this same female employee gave him a bath, claims she didn't even notice it and they never told us anything about "happy tail" until we asked. That says she either didn't give him a bath, she is just there collecting a paycheck, it's not a dog person and could care less about the dogs there. I'm really upset because I thought I made a good choice picking the Troy Petsmart pet hotel. The young girl that checked us in was really nice and professional. I had a bunch of conflicting information as far as prices went but customer service was nice and professional. Even the young girl that was in the room with the dogs yesterday seemed as though she didn't want to be there because the look on her face was just mean. To me employees at a doggy daycare should have passion for what they do like employees at a daycare with children. Being a dog parent I expect nothing but the best for my dog. I am paying for a service and I'm supposed to be able to trust the employees but after this weekend I will never bring my dogs back to the Troy Petsmart Pet Hotel. read more

Honestly, I only gave 1 star because I had to... I took my Potcake in to this location for what should have been just a routine nail trim and anal gland expression last night and had a horrible experience! The woman (older blonde) that cut my dog's nails didn't seem she knew what she was doing and wanted to get both services done quickly. Even though she had said she wiped him off well enough after the expression, he still smelled quite bad. Just brushing off her attitude, I took my invoice to go pay- little did I know that she had cut his nails so short that she had cut one the quicks! I took him back to the salon to notify them and get it addressed and unfortunately I had to deal with the same woman. She didn't make sure that she used enough of the styptic stick to make the bleeding stop because as I tried to leave again, I saw that he was still bleeding all over the floor. It took the other and more attentive woman to make sure that he was not bleeding anymore before I left the store. I understand that accidents happen but I was more put off by her attitude and lack of apology. I will NOT be coming back to this grooming salon for any other services, shows what happens when you choose a location out of convenience because of their hours instead of going to your tried and true favorite location. *Side note- I was not offered any discount or coupon after this experience, cementing my decision to not come to this location anymore. read more

Our dog has boarded at this Petsmart and I have to echo some of the feedback I have read here and in the "not recommended" reviews. For the most part, dogs get a lot of playtime. However, our dog has had repeated problems at this location, potentially due to developing allergies to their cleaning products. A friend of ours used to take his dogs there and told us when he heard we were going that his kept getting ear infections there too. They told us that they control dogs by using spray bottles, which I am not thrilled about. I have found the staff to not be very observant and to be fairly argumentative about any conditions that occur at the day care. Although everyone is nice, we can't use the boarding anymore because of the recurrent medical problems. read more

Very rude staff . Been taking my dog here for a few years and they do not go above and beyond to make the experience for you or your dog great . When I take her there they always forget to do something that was asked to be done (cut nails, brush teeth). One time I ran late 15 minutes and the lady at the counter was very rude and saying they couldn't even take her. It was three hours before closing and I was only 15 min late. Like how long does it take to wash a dog and cut its nails ? did that 15 min really matter ? I don't know but they made me make another appt. And on top of everything their prices are so high ! I used to take my puppy poodle there for grooming, and if you care about the health of your dog, NEVER go to petsmart! The second time my puppy got groomed there, she brought some fleas back. We've never seen fleas before, and after I treated her with medicine bath, fleas gone. After a month, I sent her for a bath again, this time it's like nightmare. She started to have diarrhea once she got home, with blood, I've been awake all night to keep her clean. The next morning I went to talk to the manager from PetSmart, they won't admit their fault! I'm really frustrated and I decided to stop being a member ever since. Fortunately, my puppy get well after fasting for three days, otherwise PetSmart will become PetSlayer. This review is regarding Petsmart Doggie Day Care/boarding. We have been using it off and on for about a year so I feel like I have a fairly good base to judge. Pros: - In comparison to some other daycare facilities, the dogs do seem to get a lot of play time. Some other local boarding facilities only offer about 2 hours per day, which in my mind defeats the purpose of sending a dog to day care so that it can be more stimulated than sitting around at home. - Price is fairly good. I think we usually pay $20, which is significantly less than some other places. - Petsmart is occasionally good about helping with medical issues. We had one that they covered in full through Banfield's when our dog got sick during a boarding trip. Cons: - The staff are sometimes friendly, but often make it clear when they don't really like your dog. I hear a lot of snarky, "your dog plays rough", "we had to spray your dog a lot because she plays so rough", "your dog was actually good today" comments all the time. - The amount of playtime your dog gets depends on who's there that day. If there are a bunch of dogs with high energy and yours is high energy, as long as they all get along your dog gets to play a lot. But if there are other dogs your dog doesn't get along with, they rotate (fair enough) and if most of the dogs are low energy your high energy dog might spend most of the day sitting out (not so great). Same with low-energy dogs - if everyone wants to play and yours doesn't, there's probably going to be a lot of quiet time. There's no way to tell who's going to be there, so you never really know how much playtime your dog will actually get. - They apparently use spray bottles on the dogs. They told me once that maybe she was shaking her head a lot because she'd been sprayed a lot that day and maybe it got in her ears. (Thanks...could have probably just told her to "leave it" with some authority and not have sprayed at her, but I guess that's "positive" dog training for you.) - They aren't very observant. My dog came home last month with her muzzle totally swollen, literally foaming at the mouth, and they had not noted it in her chart or noticed that anything was amiss. I called them that night and then again in the morning, and they ended up paying for her trip to Banfield's where she was diagnosed with lip fold dermatitis due to playing with other dogs. She was on antibiotics and steroids for two weeks, and was pretty miserable the entire time. We took her back yesterday for the first time and when I went to pick her up, they noted that she was being "really good" because she didn't jump to get her leash. So I said, "maybe she's not feeling well" because that is uncharacteristic of my dog (and based on all their snark, they are well aware of that). She was drooling pretty hard on the way home and that's when I realized that she was developing the problem she had last time (after less than 1 day instead of 4). Her tongue is bright red and looks awful but in their notes they say she was fine in camp and had fun. Is there any mention about the exchange when I picked her up? Nope. - The cleaning products they use apparently give a lot of dogs allergies. I spoke with a manager who said that one of her dogs reacts to their cleaning agents and has to have benadryl before she goes to camp, and another person I spoke with said that a lot of dogs react to them (but they are all dog safe). Nevertheless, they don't routinely look out for allergic reactions. - They don't want to take responsibility unless you make sure you get something noted in the chart the second you see it. Annoying, because oftentimes when you are trying to get your dog and go home the last thing you want to do is a full inspection at Petsmart the way you would when you check out a rental car. I don't really like the idea of spray bottles (especially for dogs prone to ear infections), and I hate having to fight over where injuries happened and who is responsible for having them looked at. I'm also disappointed that neither they nor Banfield's suggested that it could have been an allergic reaction the first time around and that maybe she shouldn't go back because of the risk of having another more severe reaction (which she seemed to have this time). It was especially frustrating that they suggested that it could be an allergic reaction this time when last time I specifically asked if they used cleaning products that could cause reactions and they said no and insisted it wasn't an allergic reaction. So, bottom line - generally good package for the price, but don't expect anyone to really be looking out for your animal. I don't think we're going to be going back, but I'm not sure where else to go either. read more
