What could improve with Pet Smart Lots Furst if all, communicating with your customers and letting them know that there order was cancelled instead of having the customer worry about the status of their online order. Also please do not charge your customers's credit card twice and blame YOUR SYSTEM without quickly offering a solution. I've been dog-sitting for my friend while she was away on vaca for the last three weeks. She's got three fur babies in the house, and all three have varying personalities. My favorite one, is a chihuahua mix named Oliver. He's the oldest one (six years I think), chunkiest and has the most mellow personality out of the three. So I decided to reward Oliver with a makeover at PetSmart and surprise my friend when she gets back and sees her fluffy potato all neatly groomed...LOL Making an appointment over the phone was easy enough. Booked an appointment early in the morning and arrived there with Oliver's rabies shots and medical information ready on hand. While checking him in, we had a bit of a hiccup; guess Oliver was feeling nervous and he let all of us know how he felt by dropping a deuce on the waiting area floor...LOL After I cleaned up the floor, the groomer took Oliver in and informed me to check back in approximately four hours. I told her to pay extra attention to his Grinch feet, make sure to trim out the fur in his paws and freshen up his face too. Four hours later, I came back and Oliver was just getting the finishing touches. I must say, the little man did look very clean and fresh with his new do. This was a great first experience at PetSmart and I was very pleased with the end result. Kudos to the groomer for a job well done! read more

PetSmart (Pembroke), which is located on Virginia Beach Boulevard just east of Town Center, is a smaller store than PetSmart (Rosemont). But it has its benefits. There is handicapped parking right at the sidewalk. When buying a large bag of dog food, it is easier to load if one backs into the parking space. It is closer to my home than the Rosemont store, which was closer to my work location before I retired. For an emergency need, which is usually my Golden Girl's Simply Nourish Chicken & Brown Rice dog food, this PetSmart is just fine. If there is a product they don't have in stock, it is quite easy to drive a few miles east on Virginia Beach Boulevard to the larger store. Services offered at this location are Veterinary, Grooming, Adoption & Obedience Training. Employees are friendly to people and pets. Loving animals must be a requirement for employment. This petsmart is terrible. I booked a grooming service for my dog. I dropped him off at 2 and at 3 received a call stating the groomer had a family emergency and they could not finish my dog cut. My dog is half way shaved he had one arm with fur and his face and the rest of his body is completely shaved. No other groomer was willing to complete the service. very unprofessional. This is not the 1st time i have booked and was told a groomer had a family emergency And noone else could complete the service. My sister has also experienced the same thing dropped her dog off and had to pick her right back up due to a family emergency for one of the groomers (not the same groomer I booked with). I will not never bring my dog there again! read more

We usually go to them for pawdicures (which is SUCH a cute name), but we may start going for general grooming if they'll keep sending photos. This is regarding grooming services only. Called requesting Elizabeth but she has since moved on. Don't blame her. The Trainee on the phone informed me that Military Hwy Petsmart flagged my schnoodle as red. Meaning they could not book him an appointment. Which is a complete surprise to me. He is not aggressive at all. Norfolk never finished his cut and instead called me to pick him up and right as I picked him up, they all left. This was lunch time. Now this review is for Virginia Beach because the trainee wanted to say "Oh my God" over the phone telling me if I wanted to get it taken off I needed to talk to a manager. Umm no thank you. This is a review for their grooming service. Bogey was hit by a car several years ago so I'm very particular with how he is handled. It took a bit of time for them to get in the groove but I'm fully confident with them when I take him there to get his nails trimmed. Besides, trying to do the deal myself is a day long process. These folks get him in and out in under five minutes. Mya, the chihuahua, likes to bark at all the other dogs but when it's time to get her nails trimmed the staff is great with her. The best part of our trip every few weeks to PetSmart is getting the dogs weighed at Banfield and then a treat at the register when I go to pay. If you take the time to do the surveys online from the information on your receipt it will save you a few few bucks on future visits. $9 seems quite reasonable since the vet wants to charge $15 for a nail trim. With a survey code $6 is quite the deal. read more

I went into this Pet Smart because this is where I always shop for my puppy dog. I usually go to the one at hilltop but today I had to run into the one on Va.Beach Boulevard. The stores are different in that their products are in different places. I was looking for a particular type of treat that I always get for my dog. I couldn't find it so I asked a lady upfront who was on one of the registers. She clearly did not want to be bothered with my questions. At my job when people need to find things it's our custom to take our clientele to the product. I did not need this, but I just needed a kind response so I took off to find the particular item and I did finally come across it, when I got up to the counter, do you have my items rung up? I asked if I had any points that I might use today. She abruptly told me that I had no points, and that there would be no discount. It was just a matter-of-fact and just dismissed me as quicklyas she could. I won't be returning to this store. read more

The store is good but I would not recommend using the Banfield here. There seems to be confusion and miscommunication, or maybe just lack of communication, amongst the employees of Banfield. Something as simple as dropping my dog off for a 1 day surgery turned into a 2 day event, causing me to take time off work and costing more money. read more

This is my favorite Petsmart to go to when it's time to restock on cat supplies. The employees here are always incredibly nice and helpful and everything I need is always in stock. I have a senior cat who requires a few different kinds of specialty food and they always have it and there is usually a good deal on it if you're a Pet Perks (or whatever it's called) member. I've tried going to other competing pet stores (namely Care A Lot) and I have to say that Petsmart consistently has a better selection for cat supplies. Moreover, the employees here are fantastic. They are polite, funny, and also professional. My most recent visit came with a bit of a scene (mainly caused by me). With Petsmart, you are able to order online and pick up in store (which is a great service to be able to utilize, especially if you're in a hurry). So as my SO and I are approaching the register, a she-devil of a woman comes barreling in from outside and cuts in front of us. We suck it up and just wait. She begins to berate this sweet, young cashier DEMANDING her online order right away... The cashier hasn't even finished cashing out the person she was with yet. But the employee remains unphased and tells the lady she will get her order immediately with a smile on her face. This ornery old bat continues barreling down this girl's throat asking why it isn't ready yet (she's literally been in the store for two minutes TOPS) and the girl is working on it for her saying one of the items is being grabbed from the back and that she'll need the woman's ID or credit card for verification which of course the lady has to go to her car to get. While she's away, the young lady quickly and happily cashes me out and I apologize that she has to deal with such a horrific old human and she just smiles and says that's the job and it's not a big deal. If that's not a prime example of resilience and fortitude, I don't know what is. Long story short, she did everything for that old wretch with a genuine smile and that's service. We need not talk about the words I exchanged with the terror banshee when we went outside. Anyway, the staff here is great and this is my weird, convoluted way of saying so. I come here every few months and my two dogs come out looking great, no complaints. One of my dogs gets really anxious and nervous and they treat him so well. The staff here is always so friendly and helpful. I've asked for advice on several different products and gotten good feedback. It also helps that they love my puppy and always give him lots of love and treats every time we come in! I like the location of this branch and the fact that it has a bandfield as well. If they had a PetsHotel at this location, it would be even better. However, the staff needs to do a better job with the cleanliness. I found several spots in the aisles with urine while I was walking my dog. This pet store has always had its problems with stocking, but when I come in every two weeks to buy $800 worth of supplies for my 2 guinea pigs, I expect to always be able to come in and get what I need for my babies. I came in today, not only is there NO hay, even though there's a whole section labeled for it. Also, we needed to pick up a new water bottle for our ADULT guinea pig. If you don't know, they drink about 8 oz in less than an hour. The biggest water bottle they had, was this cheap, plastic, thrown together piece of crap that only held 6 OZ. What am I supposed to do with that. The employees were literally trying to sell a guinea pig to a customer when I asked if they had any hay or bigger water bottles in the back. They told me they were "reorganizing" but that whatever was on the shelf was all they had. So your best damn sure I told the woman she should put her pig back since they have none of their main source of food, nor a way to give them a decent supply of water. What a cheap excuse for a store. The dollar store of pet supplies. A complete joke. If you're basic with a cat or dog then go ahead and pay $50 for a 10lb of food all you want but if you have exotic pets you might as well start ordering online because the pet stores are apparently somehow going bankrupt and can't get quality products. My dog comes out of here looking good & they seem to be decent people, but I'm not sure at this point whether I will continue using their services. They aren't consistent in making sure that you get EVERYTHING in their package. Twice now, I have had to ask for the bandana. This last time, I really don't think we got the cologne spritz since the groomed scent just about faded within a couple of hours. In the past, the scent has stayed for days. I know that these seem like minor things to miss, but I believe that it is indicative of their lack of attention to detail. This possible final grooming with them, I was given a paper "report" of the major grooming items completed, so I believe those items were done. I've never been given that report before this last appointment, another inconsistency, so I'm not as sure that all those items have been done in the past. The price is reasonable, so maybe I'll try a location other than the Va Beach Blvd one. read more

The shelves are stocked in abundance with a huge selections of food, toys, and supplemental supplies. Prices are reasonable and sales alternate. Right now their cat trees are 20% off until 08.06.17 but they are still a tad overpriced. I have never used the veterinary facilities here. I checked out the adoption section in the back today and all of the cages were clean without feces, water bowls full, and food food so I was happy to see that. Two cashiers were working and I was in a particular line but the other cashier called me over. She did not provide the same customer service as the one I was in line with orginally who was asking the customers if they would like their receipt emailed, printed, or both. I would have liked mine emailed but was not given the option. They always have what I need and they are conveniently located. Grooming staff has a terrible attitude. After waiting more than 3 hours it looked like I cut my dogs hair myself. Very jagged edge at her jaw line and not the same length on both sides. After waiting another 15 minutes she looked exactly the same. Was told to talk to the manager. Who had nothing to say except, "what's your dogs name."
