I was so nervous to take my dog out because she usually freaks out... bad. I went to Zoom Room with her for an evaluation to see what type of training might help. The staff was so patient and kind to a worried dog mom. Molly & I got set up for some private lessons and had our first one today. I really appreciated that the trainer, Emillie, recognized when Molly was stressed or nervous. She worked with us at Molly's pace, not mine. That made all the difference in how Molly got comfortable in the new environment. On the ride there she was antsy and scared in the car. On the way home she was relaxed and happy. That alone was a huge WIN on day one! I can't wait to see what comes with our next lessons. We were attracted to zoom room because of the great reviews and the possible socialization of our dog with other dogs in group sessions. We were impressed with the staff. They were very knowledgeable and very pleasant. Based on our observations, I would recommend zoom room for groups and group training. But unfortunately I wouldn't recommend private lessons. Our new rescue puppy did have some temperament issues and they said that private would be better place to start. The only training that was offered was click training. It's a very methodical approach that takes a lot of time and patience. The trainer was very well-versed in this method but the bottom line is that one type of traing doesn't fit all. This was the only method that was offered. They didn't give us the handouts in the beginning, which would've greatly assisted us assimilating the rules and expectations of click training. They gave it to us after three sessions and we paid for four 30 minute sessions. This sessions were conducted in the main room of the facility. Unfortunately, we could hear clicking sounds from people waiting for the next group lesson which totally threw off our dog's training and was an expensive waste of precious of time. So I would definitely not recommend private training at this facility - especially at $75 for 30 minutes! On a personal note, we eventually solved the problem by having our dog visit daycare on a regular basis. Our rescue puppy simply needed exposure to other dogs and a whole lot of TLC! read more

So, let me just say that I waited until our 3 month commitment was up to write this review because I wanted to be able to talk about our entire process. Hannibal is a bit of a Nervous Nellie, so we were worried about whether or not he was going to be able to do group training or we would do private training. From the time that we had our evaluation to his last class, the trainers and staff there was nothing but sweet to Hannibal. Hannibal is almost 7, so this was not a "puppy training" adventure for us, but more so, we wanted him to have more manners. What I appreciate is that we didn't get singled out and neither did Hannibal if he missed something. They would praise him the next time he got it right and show us how to do better for him as well. We started our Zoom Room classes with Hannibal back in March and he graduated Obedience 3 May 9th with the ability to keep going to those classes to hone his skills. I want to stress that Zoom Room isn't about training your dog solely, it's about training you to be able to train your dog and they give you the tools and the help to do that. I felt more confident and understood better how to train Hannibal and get him to understand what we wanted from him. He's been less nervous around other dogs and in public since ZR and I know it's also because we've worked with him outside of ZR on his manners so he feels more secure. I love that when they see that Hannibal is nervous, they let other trainers know and don't get upset or worried. They approach him differently and with treats so that he knows they're not a threat to him. The treats they have for sale have been great for training inside and outside of the center. The games they play help provide fun for the humans and still provide enrichment for the dogs being trained. It's not been an easy road, but it's been so worth it and I'm super happy with the progress Hannibal has made since we started Zoom Room. He's even taken a sip from their community bowls, which has never happened anywhere else. read more

I understand different dogs play in different ways, but my little dog was almost tramped and cried to go home. He attends dog daycare at Sterling Meadows and we never have an issue. I think there should be separate play groups because a 4-month-old Yorkie or Sheltie should not be trampled and jumped on by a 7-month-old lab or Rottie. For owners of larger breeds who like to roughhouse, it's okay but I warn... DO NOT take timid or small puppies to playgroup or you could end up with an injured dog. Updating my review after using the classes here for months! I'm probably an even bigger fan of Zoom Room than I was 7 months ago. We have a Beagle mix which are notorious for being stubborn dogs. We've gone through obiedence classes and now are working on Obedience 3 and Agility 1 with our girl. She gets a great mental workout and we've learned a lot about how to train our puppy the right way so it's rewarding for both parties. We took a trip not too long ago and brought our dog with us and we kept hearing how well behaved she is! We owe that to what we've learned at Zoom Room. The trainers are really nice and know their stuff. I love that they offer different kinds of classes to keep your dog interested, as well as playgroups which were so necessary during lockdown last year. Agilty class has been super fun and gives our girl a good outlet for her love of treats and her zoomies. The staff remember her and her personality and we still love all of the toys they have here. I have a small breed pup in the puppy training classes. They really do train us fur parents on using positive reinforcement to shape our pup's behavior. The staff is awesome and knowledgeable. I am really amazed at how much I've learned in the month we've been attending. My pup can follow a multitude of commands across different environments. The first puppy socialization sessions were great for my fearful small pup. However, after aging up to a new class, I've had a different experience. Large breed pups have the tendency to trample him, so I'm not sure if these socialization classes are the ones for him as he's seeming to regress and become more fearful, hence the 4 stars. I highly respect the opinion of the staff, so I'll talk to them about it before throwing in the towel with the socialization sessions. Lastly, this location has so many amazing toys and treats that I've purchased to help unload my puppy's energy. The staff told me exactly how to use these gadgets and snacks, and it has helped tremendously with my energized puppy while I work from home during the day. We took our dog there for puppy training. There was about 7 puppies, 1 trainer & 2 employees talking to each other up front. Each dog starts their training at different times. This was our day 1 but 5 other dogs were graduating. The trainer would show u how to get your dog to sit then let you have your dog sit for 5 mins then moved on to the next exercise. My dog (& her parents) were obviously struggling & no one come over to help. The trainer did a good job but there needed to be someone else there to give u individual attention when needed. Idk if they were short handed or this is typical. But i could watch a YouTube video & get the same thing out of it. *Edit* Zoom Room has reached out to me multiple times saying that they only have 7 dogs in a class and asking me which "class" I attended (they quoted class which seems condescending to me). Since the number of dogs in the class is their biggest concern (not my experience). I'm changing it from "about 12" to 7. The owner John is very nice and knowledgeable when it comes to dog training and what you should do and shouldn't do. I first found out about this place when j was looking to find a place where they have classes to train my dog. My dog is well trained but they have many levels of training, agility course and training so you can get your dog certified to be a therapy dog. They have an admissions test to evaluate your dog to make sure they have up to date vaccinations and no behavioral issues.This assures other pet owners that they are safe to have their dog around other friends that are properly vaccinated and of mild temperament. I took him into get tested and I was amazed of how clean the place was and professional the team here at zoom room were. They have proper stations for clean up In case there is a potty accident waiting to happen. I loved the set up, the colors of blue and orange are vibrant and attracting. They have a small boutique of dog toys, other essentials and a galore of doggie treats filled in jars. Your dog will feel like they are like a kid In a candy store. They made sure his vaccines were up to date before they did his temperament test. Furby passed and then was eligible to attend their level one obedience class. Once he completed that he started doing some little dog play dates. I really enjoyed that they have an account set up online so I can sign him up for classes where I can coordinate with my schedule. The classes are small and more personal so the environment stays well controlled. My parents dog had a birthday party here. It's cheap for them to have an hour of a group play date instead of pay for the birthday party package. It worked out and my parents dog, Chunky had a blast. It was my first real birthday party I've ever seen thrown for a dog at a venue of some sort. This was seriously the cutest easy event hosted. It's really no secret to anyone who knows me that I spoil my dog. He's known to my close friends and family as "the ferrari" because thousands of dollars have been invested into this beast. Alas, he is well worth it. He comes to the zoom room to play and just sprawls out in the corner. Too into himself to care about anything going on around him. Yet we pay for him to lay in this corner. I know, why do doggie parents do what they do. Did I mention he is a 70lb english bulldog? I signed up my 3-year-old dog, Balto, for private classes at the Zoom Room after hearing very positive remarks about them from my vet. The best part about Zoom Room is that they use positive reinforcement training, which means they reward the dog's good behavior instead of punishing them for bad behavior. Balto has only taken four classes but I have seen a lot of improvement in his behavior. He's gotten better with jumping on people (still happens occasionally, but definitely not as much) and learned several new commands. I'm so happy that a place like Zoom Room exists!! It's a great place to take your dog to play, learn, and shop. My issue is that most of the time when I take my dog to the dog park, it's either full of big dogs or Winnie will come out a hot muddy mess. Since I take her to ZR in the small breed playgroups, I don't have to worry about big dogs trampling her or that I'll have to bathe her upon coming home. All of the staff is incredibly nice and ensure that all of the dogs are having a safe and happy time. Before I started taking her here, I just had to come in for an orientation to learn about what ZR does and also to give them Winnie's shot records and what not. They also have a wide arrangement of classes for obedience, agility (jumping through hoops, like in the dog shows!!), tricks, the list goes on and on. Something for every-paw-dy! ;) Their retail side also carries a lot of items from toys, hygiene, dog accessories, and TONS of treats! Parking is readily available and there's also a place to take your dogs if they need to relieve themselves. They're located across the street from Landstown Commons so they don't have all that super crazy shopping center traffic. Also free coffee for the dog parents! What's not to love!? read more

My GSD and I are a fan! I first came here after a recommendation from a friend who said they were offering $5 black friday special for new dogs to try out their agility training. from what i remember, i think it was about 30 minutes and there were 2 or 3 other dogs with us. WE HAD A BLAST! my GSD is naturally smart (get's it from her momma... and breed. hahaha jk) and she caught on quite quickly! it was so much fun and the trainer was great. the other puppies there were awesome too. So glad they checked vet paperwork to make sure they were all up to date on their shot records (just in case anything were to happen...) and the facility was super clean and loved the lay out! they also have some treats and goodies for the dogs in the front of the store. ari loved trying their puppy donuts and i bought a bag of treats that we ended up using for the class. i believe it was the chicken jerky up against the wall. ONE OF HER FAVS! she'll do just about anything i tell her to do if i promise her one of these treats. haha kinda pricey (i think it was about $8.99 or so) but totally worth it! one thing i love about the stuff they have here is it's all remotely healthy in moderation for the dogs. the second time i came was to set up a birthday party for my puppy! she turned 1 and we had an absolute blast! one thing that i was a little ehh with was that when i called to set up the appointment, i felt like i wasn't told certain things -- that i later had to call back to ask. for instance, her guests needed to bring their shot records to attend her party. although i love the fact that they do this to ensure safety for all dogs, not a lot of people carry their dog's shot records with them. (thankfully i thought about it and called them - cause if not, we would have had to turn guests down.) another thing i was a little ehh about was when i initially called, the person said that they would offer pupcakes -- so i got super excited and made little signs and decor to go along with the party, but when they called to confirm my reservation, they told me it was donuts. so a little miscommunication there. i'm not sure if the people i was talking to were new, but for $125 for a one hour puppy party, i'd hope that they'd relay all the right information. but no harm, no foul once we got it all together! had a blast, and so did all of our guests! pricing is a little high but those smiles on the dog's faces.... brought in my 11 week old , 3.5 lb puppy..  1st class tried to teach us 5 commands in about 15 minutes with clicker training.  first time there - very ineffective and overwheliming   The worst part was socialization time.. I had asked about puppy sizes.. since this was a 2-4 month old class.  ALL the dogs were large puppies -- very rambunctious being puppies.. my little guy very nearly got trampled on ..  They told me not to worry - but 1 wrong step from these big  lab and boxer puppies would have killed mine. The puppy owners were concerned as well.  I scooped up mine.  And left..   so I had to pay $50 to cancel after attenidng 1/2 class.  And I paid 119 up front for 4 classes.  So beware - if you attend 1 class and don't like it - you are out $170.  But my puppy's safety was more important to me .  Also spoke to another certified professional trainer who agreed that I did the right thing.  Yes puppies are puppies..but my little guy was no match for this group of large tumbling, jumping puppies.  I wish I could get my money back.   It was a bad experience.   And this is NOT my first puppy or my first experience with trainers/training.  Just thought I would try it to get my pup socialized in a safe environment - but did not feel safe at all read more

We have seen ads from Zoom Room for awhile and their $5 agility class was too tempting. After going for a quick orientation where all my questions were answered we signed Nellie up for the agility class last night. Kristy and John were so welcoming which has been a concern for us in the past. Some larger companies have policies about "pit" and "pit looking" dogs interacting with other dogs. They treated her just like all the other pups there looking to have fun. During the class, John was patient with all the dogs (and their people) in a situation that can get pretty loud and distracting at times. Nellie was incredibly confused at first (she hasn't had any formal training we're aware of), but by the end was doing really well! We are excited to start taking her to Obedience, Agility and play groups. She came home tired and with a giant Pibble smile! read more

This place is very clean and has a fun and inviting atmosphere. The staff and trainers are friendly and knowledgeable. However if you have a rough dog with a high prey drive, I would not recommend their classes. They only do positive reinforcement training (clicker training/rewarding with treats) and unfortunately this just did not work out for my dog. I really wanted to progress into the agility classes however after months of coming here my dog never made it out of obedience 1. I have since found another trainer and my dog has progressed more in 2 days than in the few months I went here. Every dog is different. Just didn't work out for us. read more

Conducted the temperament test with Brooklyn and our new 16mos old Pit Bull mix who's extremely "Green" from a training standpoint. She was knowledgeable, professional, and very caring; obviously cares a great deal about dogs and was receptive on what we want; dispel stereotypes of "Bully" breeds. I've been around dogs my whole life (mainly Dobies) and worked around Mals and GSD's in the service and can tell quickly who genuinely cares about the dog and who's just trying to assert "dominance" over them and be the "master"; definitely get the feel the trainers we've met are the former and want to see the best come out of both the dog and the owner. Looking forward to the private and group sessions once a foundation is laid at the Zoom Room with their team. The trainers seem genuine and top notch, the training methodology is obviously working judging by the dogs we've seen there, and the other owners didn't cringe at the mention of or sight of a Pibble and their smile. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for solid training in a positive environment to build an actual bond with your pup. read more
