I got my mini doodle groomed at PetSmart and the staff was EXEMPLARY. Eriana was his groomer and was so sweet over the phone and in person. My doodle struggles with anxiety and has a tendency to cry which has led to many previously cancelled grooming appointments and embarrassment. Eriana and her coworkers were more than understanding and assured me he would be welcomed back. I have never left a grooming appointment smiling before! RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE! It is also comical that they ask tank size and want to make sure you have the adequate size when the aquariums their fish are in are below the standards that they recommend! Warning!!! If you take your pet to get groomed the people working there do not seem to know what they were doing. I let them know beforehand that my puppy is shy around new people. He gets scared around new people but he is sweet he doesn't get nippy just backs away. Despite telling them this the lady ran up on my dog with a leash causing him to back away. He started to sniff her and was getting closer to comfortable and she made jumpy movements again causing him to back up. Instead of trying to get him a treat and spend more than 10 seconds on gaining his trust. She fed him a treat that was half eaten on the floor. Now my dog needed to be rabies vaccinated to get groomed there so what if an owner gave their dog a treat while checking them in and then was turned away for not having the vaccine so now this my dog was fed this half treat not knowing who else ate it. Now there's potential for my dog to get sick. I won't be going back. There was also a small doodle being shaved at the same time and the girl doing it did not look like she what she was doing and repeatedly asked for help. Not worth the $19 for nails. All PetSmart stores are definitely not mirror images. This store, along with several others that I have frequented in the area, doesn't have the same stock level I am accustomed to finding in a PetSmart. For years I only frequented the Virginia Beach Boulevard store near Sam's Club. The inventory there is extensive and well maintained,. The Hilltop store is quite convent, located directly next to Trader Joe's. That makes for a "two for one" excursion. But I always end up disappointed at being told the store is out of a product I came to purchase. Today's intended purchase was a dog food only available at PetSmart. I always buy two of the extra large bags - one for work and one for home. My golden girl is a hearty eater!! The Hilltop store only had one large bag on the shelf. When I asked the check out clerk if they had more In the back, he appeared completely unconcerned. I was told that everything was on the shelf and a truck would be coming tomorrow. He then turned back to the register. Of course, I didn't envision coming back the next day. "Woman handling" of really heavy bags of dog food isn't my idea of fun. What I needed and wanted was to be able to make my two bag purchase and not go back to the store for a month. At the PetSmart on the Boulevard the check out clerk, regardless of who it is, always asks if I need help getting the super sized bags into my vehicle. They immediately recognize the fact that youth and strength might have passed me a few blocks down the Boulevard. Without the slightest bit of shame, my answer is always an enthusiastic "Yes!!" Even though It only takes the store personnel a few minutes to put the bags in my hatchback, I was not offered any help at the Hilltop Store. So I stoically headed out into the rain and began the daunting task of transferring the one very large & one not so gigantic dog food bags from cart to car. Regarding the store in general, it fits the norm of a smaller PetSmart. There is doggie day care, obedience training, boarding, grooming and veterinary services. The location makes this store such an appealing choice. The entire Hilltop corridor is a shopping delight with a plethora of fun, upscale and inviting shopping and edibles. Join the team PetSmart. Provide the same service and stocked shelves as your Hilltop neighbors. Until then, find me making my pampered pet purchases at the PetSmart on the Boulevard. read more

I hate leaving my furry family member behind, but sometimes you can't take them everywhere, especially if your holiday host has cats and your dog is not a cat lover. I've boarded my dog, Phoenix, at Petsmart Pet Hotel previously and have loved the experience. This is my first boarding at the Hilltop location. Staff here are so great! They are very professional and ask tons of questions to get to know your pet better. Phoenix was in love from the first brush stroke. Always a good sign! While Phoenix got love from one associate another walked me through check in. I can't say enough about how great the staff here are. They had already read my online reservation and had a good list of questions to ask. It made me so happy to know they actually took the time to get to know Phe on and off paper. Pick up time a few days later was quick, everyone was sad Phe was leaving. She's such a ham!! The girls up front came and said goodbye and she just loved every moment of it. We had a quick chat about her progress report and off we went home. While happy to be heading home, Phe had to say goodbye to every employee she saw....and to get some treats. Phe came home happy and as wiggly as she left. Finally I have a new sense of security knowing that if there is a pet emergency they have a vet clinic on site. Something I didn't know I needed until this last boarding trip when our other dog had a pet emergency out of state. This store is great but there's just one employee she has red hair and a high pitched voice that seems to always be there when I go. She is the rudest person I've ever had the unpleasant experience of dealing with. One I understand every store has their discount card. But she just doesn't get the point. "Do you have a number with us" "no" "would you like to sing up" "no, thank you" "well I'm just gonna put this in your bag" (application for the card). "I really don't want it" then she goes on about why I should get the card. Today I go in and as I walk to the register a customer with two dogs walk in. Took my puppy here last Friday for his first grooming and got the Top Dog bath package. I researched the packages prior to making my appointment. As stated on the website, war cleaning, nail trimming, and teeth brushing were included. When I took my puppy to the appointment, the groomer told me (and got a second opinion from another groomer) that these were not included and charged me $16 extra for the services. I did not have my phone on me at this time so I was not able to reference and I proceeded to pay. I was called an hour and half later that my puppy was just about ready for pick up- he was still drying. I told them I didn't mind and had some towels in my car to dry him off. I had to leave for work and was side-tracked to get my refund. When my puppy and I got in the car he SMELLED HORRIBLE. Obliviously they were working on his anal glands- you could not mistake that smell. Not only that, but only one ear was cleaned, the other was full of doggy wax. How do I know if his teeth were even brushed? I honestly did not want to have my dog go back for a redo because the whole experience felt very yo-yo and like they were just trying to make the sale. read more

I'll start by saying that I frequent this store. I get my cat food here it's actually cheaper than Wal Mart when you buy it in bulk. The store is very large! It's very clean and the isle are nice and big! They allow pets in of course, and have a doggy day care where they even give you a little report card when you pick them up. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Only bad experience is when I got my cat to the groomer they said they could clean him up before close. I dropped him off and left and about 15 mins before closing time, I get a call from the groomer saying my cat Wilfred scratched her and I need to come get him. I arrive she isn't there and the other groomer said she went to the hospital with a scratch on her hand. I went back the next day when she was suppose to work to apologize and looked at her hand where this horrible scratch was and...NOTHING! Let's face it, I'm a sucker for our 4 legged fur babies! And that's no exception for our Pitt mutt. It's hard to find a place that will take Pitt bull dogs because of their reputation, but in reality they are some of the sweetest dogs ever. The only down side to our puppy boy staying there, is that he doesn't get to socialize with the other dogs. And whenever he spends time away from his family, his anxiety level sky rockets so bad that he has been known to loose fur by by the handful, this is where PetSmart outshines. They treat him with kid gloves, gives him one on one play time, cuddles and loves. If they have a room with a television and nice bedding, which helps with his anxiety issues. And if anyone that calls him by his name with baby talk tones, he becomes putty in their hands. With the way they treat him, we will keep going there. read more

Petsmarts Vet, Banfield is a great service, and I highly recommend their Optimum Wellness Plan for your pet. Not only do you save money, but the service is convenient to your schedule (with phone call reminders of your pet appointment) Besides that I love Petsmarts Grooming services. My pup grows hair like crazy, and at times I can never make a scheduled appointment for him. Yet, every time I walk my pup in, they scoop him up as a walk-in. Worst experience ever. I took my dog there for a trim and ordered their top dog plus grooming package. I begged for them to not shave his hair. He is a golden doodle and looks best with his fluffy curls. I do my best to brush his hair out to prevent matting. Due to Covid-19, he did get a little bit of matting on his head around the ears and his tail. I said that was okay to cut down short. I checked his body myself and did not find any matting nor did I have any issue brushing his fur out with a slicker brush. They called me and told me they had to shave him. I don't understand why they couldn't leave any hair and brush out any "matting or tangles". I understand short hair but I don't understand baldness. Since I was planning to pay for the top dog plus package, it would have included nail grinding, upgraded shampoo and conditioner, his cut, a bandana, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and anal gland cleaning. I can tell you his nails weren't trimmed, he had no bandana, and don't think his teeth were brushed. Have no idea if anal gland cleaning was done. I was told to come back in 3 days for his ears to be plucked which was extremely inconvienient since I work. His appointment also took over 4 hours and when I called to check in after the 4 hour mark passed, they told me he was basically done. I got there and she was still shaving him and I had to wait 20 minutes. They also gave him a 4 inch long Mohawk without my permission and I had to request that they cut it off. After she shaved it, she cut way too close to his head and cut his skin. Completely unprofessional to do whatever you want to someone else's dog. I believe this was the laziest job ever. The person who cut his hair was Hollie. I am never taking him to get groomed there again. read more

My Toby seems happy everyday when I get to see him.. Their location inside petsmart is the best one.. Since coming from NY or farther that.. You needed more time to drive especially with the traffics and cops.. This place excelled the most.. I tried calling other kennel closer to ocean front but wouldn't accept after certain time.. Well I'm pleased and really satisfied.. The staff here are awesome.. I've seen them watch and play with the dogs..they have good customer service..
