He told me that the refrigerant for my unit wasn't available anymore (untrue), and that the whole unit needed to be replaced. I got an $11K bid, that got retracted for a $7K bid, that got retracted for a #13K bid. I called another company who got it done, parts (not under warranty) and labor, including replacing all the refrigerant, for under $1K.
