I have used Mr Rooter for several years now and they continue to exceed my expectations. They had Dan the service technician there within just a few hours of my initial phone call. Not only was he respectful of our property, but he even wore protective booties on his shoes to keep the carpet clean. We found the invoice to be fair and equitable for the amount of work involved. I thought I could discuss concerns about my bill because we were told different information from various workers and Mr Rooter sent bill collector Louis out to "get what was owed". Two stars because they were available quickly. Otherwise one star. They charge a non-refundable $49 "dispatch fee", and won't give any pricing estimates until they arrive on-site. If you don't like the pice they quote you lose the $49. I'm not going for that kind of BS. I called a local plumber, and got fast service and a general estimate of costs. That is honest service. BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People need to stand up for their rights and don't accept when people are trying to take advantage of you! This is all about Mr. Rooter... DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING! First of all, let me say that I am not opposed to paying a fair price for services and I do believe that everyone works to get paid. Secondly, let me say that I do know that pricing has gone up in a huge way in the last couple of years few years. It's not like I'm delusional and I'm thinking we should get 1950s pricing on things, but that would be nice, lol. One of the biggest reasons that I am doing this is because I DETEST GREED. - By all means, provide a service, and by all means, have rates for your services... but stop treating HUMAN BEINGS like cash cows. Most people are struggling and scraping by as it is. MR. ROOTER HAS MADE ME COMPLETELY ASHAMED OF THEM WITH THEIR ACTIONS AND THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT. Case in point - my kitchen sink. Let me start by saying that in 2019 when I swapped out the original sink when I got a deeper sink that I now have I had to get a new garbage disposal to be installed, and a faucet was installed. All the plumbing had to be changed because of the depth of the new sink and the location of the drains. I thought that the quote of $600.00 was a lot of money to have to pay, but it so happened that Mister Rooter was the only company I could get here to do a job in a reasonable amount of time. Fortunately my employer helped me out with that since this is technically their home that I'm living in. The replacement sink was a granite composite sink and I will never own another one as long as I live. I already need a new sink and I did take good care of the granite composite sink. It's in good working order but it's terribly ugly. We have the hardest water here and the sink is a dark color - even though I maintained it and put oil on it it's still something you need to do all the time or it's going to look funky. Well, funky it is! So I got a different sink... So now I need the new (16 ga. Stainless) sink installed and I had to get some quotes. I called Mr. Rooter. THEY QUOTED OVER $1300 TO DO THE SINK SWAP OUT, even though the current sink and the new sink line up perfectly with what is already there for plumbing. All it needs is to be disconnected and swapped out. So they quoted me over twice as much money versus the bigger job that they did in 2019 that required a lot more work and a lot more time. I don't know what happened between 2019 and now in this company, but someone greedy is in charge and someone changed everything in the way of their pricing. I will never give them my business again and I recommend that no one else does either. I almost had a heart attack when I saw that amount of money as a quote for about a 2 hour job (if that long), and on top of that I had to pay them $45.00 to come and tell me what they would charge. I've paid them their $45 and I bid them Godspeed and I will never, ever, EVER call them again. They are greedy money-rapists, greedily taking advantage common hard working people. Luckily, I got 2 other reasonable quotes. One was about $400.00 and the other one for about $200.00 to do the job - (I have to use licensed contractors). I will opt for the $200.00 one and I will post a review once that job gets done. I hope this helps at least someone not make the mistake of going with Mr. Rooter for any services, or bothering to pay for them to even so much as quote a job. Get a few quotes. I know people want money to come and even look at a job now, but I understand that to a point. It's their time and energy their doing to go look at a job that they may not even get paid for at all because nobody uses them. I understand, and I don't mind paying a small fee. But I will say that another company (Goettls High Desert Mechanical) wanted $95 to come and look and I told them no. It doesn't take 10 minutes and I am not going to pay 95 bucks for that. read more

Had an emergency sewer issue and after calling four plumbers who refused to fix the issue I contacted Mr. Rooter. Jakob came out and assessed the issue recommending remediation as well and recommended a company. While the entire saga lasted more than 48 hours the plumbing was resolved in less. Jakob provided essential knowledge and problem solving to remedy the situation and provided all necessary photos and documentation for my claim. Due to the recent storm, we had smelled gas. We evacuated the house and called 9-1-1 & Unisource to identify the issue. It appears that the pilot light for the water heater was blown out. So we had to call a plumber, but most were not available until Monday. Rich from Mr. Rooter was dispatched the next day (Saturday). He was friendly, courteous, professional, efficient, and saved us a tonne of money. And all we were charged was the "trip fee", not an additional "emergency" fee. So we've been hearing some strange noise when we either turn on and off a faucet or at the end cycle of a toilet tank fill. Called for an appointment and set up an appointment for the next day. Mark Bernett arrived right on time. He was very professional and explained all the possibilities. It turned out to be a bad pressure reducing valve. When I asked when they could replace it, Mark said the same day. They did the work and checked everything inside and outside. He even changed out the hot water valve so it would drain more quickly when we do the required draining. This is the second time we've used Mr Rooter and have been very please both times. read more

I live on a road where 7 residents share a well. Mr. Rooter came out to do some work on one of the lots and hit a waterline. Off goes the water for 4 hours. As it was nearing 5:00 another neighbor and I asked one of the workers what the deal was- his reply "well, the glue has to set up for 24 hours so the water will be off". We called another company who has been handling the overall well for years and asked for some assistance. The main tech said the information we were given was untrue and the glue normally sets within 15 minutes. We begged him to come out, now after hours and fix the line and he responded. When the second company tech arrived, Mr Rooter employees were back on scene and were directed by the second company to ensure no leaks. The waterline held and we had water, but out of cost to is us $125.00 (excellent deal for after hours and emergency response). This morning we called Mr. Rooter supervisor and questioned why they wouldn't flag the water line "before" digging. Kaleb (supervisor) stated he was certain his crew followed protocol and "accidents happen" and refused to reimburse our out of pocket costs. If not for the secondary group, we would still be without water. If you feel lucky, hire them- otherwise you may want to seek a different company that will stand behind their work AND their mistakes. We called for help because the shower backed up with water. Mr Rooter had just been here in January to clear the pipes. This time we were informed a pipe was crushed. Since they ran a camera last time why wasn't this detected. We had the septic pumped just 2 years ago and there are only 2 of us. They insisted on doing it again so they could work on the pipe. It was $200 to locate the septic even tho I told them where it was. It was $800 to pump the septic, which they did LAST!! When they got done we owed them over $4000. Never again!!! We could have skipped the pumping and I knew where the septic was. There are a number of local companies who can do just as good of job or better for less money. Call one of them!! Called and got a call back. Was told they would charge fifty bucks to appear, but they could not give me an estimate because they don't give estimates over the phone. A big swing and a miss. I tried running some scenarios past the dispatcher but she just kept repeating they never give estimates over the phone. I said, so I could pay for your visit fee and you could estimate it would cost five thousand to install my stove--actually giving me no clue, beforehand. Yet I've read other reviews where it says they charge 209 bucks an hour and that at least gives me a clue. Decided they need to better train their staff. My response to your response--stating the obvious; that your dispatchers aren't plumbers does not address the need to be able to give a potential customer a clue as to what they will be charged. I can literally call any service but yours and at least get a clue. Something like, well installing a stove usually takes an hour and we charge two hundred for an hour less the appearance fee would have at least given me a clue. Instead we went elsewhere read more

Awesome service! They were knowledgeable, communicative, and fairly expensive but they did the job right and quickly!

Toilet was blocked up. The Mr Rooter guy told me he wouldn't try a snake because "it's metal and the toilet is ceramic and I cannot risk breaking the toilet". I've had this problem 2-3 times over the years and a snake always did the trick and the cost was reasonable. Mr Rooter wanted to remove and reinstall the toilet, new wax ring etc. Cost would be $349. I was happy to send him on his way for the $49 "dispatch charge". It seems this is standard practice with this company. It works because they often have the customer over a barrel - plugged toilet and "expert" telling them they need an expensive solution. It took them longer than expected because of the age of our house and the old pipes what are installed. They did not charge us extra for their time then the estimate he gave us after arrival.
