We've done several private lessons along with a one-day training, and the progress has been incredible. She helped us work on place, off, leave it, heel, and threshold training using a combination of spatial pressure, leash pressure, and treats in a way that was effective and easy to understand. I researched for hours, talked with multiple trainers, and ultimately chose Wise Tails because of how knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuine Cassie and Plennie were from our very first conversation. They took the time to understand my dog, my concerns, and helped me figure out what would actually be the best fit. One of my biggest goals was stopping my dog's jumping. After not seeing her for five weeks during training, I was fully expecting our reunion to be chaos. Instead, she stayed in her place and didnt jump at all. I genuinely couldn't believe it. It was one of those moments where you realize the training really works. I was also very nervous about using an e-collar. I had a lot of preconceived ideas and wanted to make sure I was doing right by my dog. Cassie and Plennie were incredibly patient, answered every question I had, and made sure I understood exactly how and why it was being used. They never made me feel pressured--they built my confidence every step of the way, and I now feel completely comfortable using it appropriately. So here's what my dog Patsy Cline had to say in her first official Yelp Review about her favorite Petsitter, Kris @ Fit Pup: - Kris doesn't view her time with me (Patsy) as a task or a job or a to-do list, she genuinely treats me like I'm her own pet with lots of love and care. That make me so happy and feels so good! - The time we spend together is quality - - never a rush or bunched up with a lot of other pets at the same time. That way I get ample quality time to play and Kris one-on-one as she's 100% focused on interacting with me. We play fetch or throw the ball around and even go for walks. The upper level classes work on "rally courses". Cons: All classes are on Margaret's land/field (this has both pros and cons). Great when it's warm and sunny or overcast, not so fun when it gets rained out or in the heat of summer. (Though many of the reschedules classes were nice, like in the cold winter/holiday months). We chose to work with Humaner Trainer because of the many recommendations from friends and neighbors. Margaret and Kathleen work by cues, marks, and positive reinforcement (by treats, praise, or play)) to the dog. They are very knowledgeable about various methods of animal training, and the pros and cons of them all. As with ANY dog training, it does require work and consistency on the part of the dog's family. Margaret gives you the basic tools to train your dog, and to keep it healthy and balanced. The longer you can work with Margaret, the more practice you and your dog will get. I love how at the completion of level 4, our pup knows how to walk well on his leash, knows how to walk to my side while watching for my cues.

We went out of town on a family trip last weekend and had to leave our dogs, one of which is a…read morecranky old Chihuahua named Arnie. Due to his temperament and age, we are highly selective of who takes care of him. We worry about his safety; and that of the dog sitter. We were referred to Home 2 Paws by a family member. We gave them the key to our house, some quick feeding instructions, and wished them good luck. We were absolutely delighted with the professionalism and care of Home 2 Paws. They gave us updates on their visits and even send us a few pictures of our dogs playing and relaxing. When we returned home our house was clean and the dogs were perfectly happy. We will definitely use Home 2 Paws again and will recommend them to our friends and family in the North Austin area. I think even Arnie would agree.

He would playfully attack anything he could get in his mouth, including us. My kids, especially our 5 year old, became afraid. We couldn't keep a dog in the house if it wasn't safe for our little one. We started working with Lhyra twice a week but quickly switched to a stay and train program (4 weeks). Lhyra made a world of difference! She was able to read him and understand his issues. Buddy came home with self control and it is AMAZING! We can trust him to be alone with our 5 year old. He is a wonderful family dog and we couldn't be happier. Lhyra was always available to us throughout the process. She kept us updated on his progress, including videos and photos. Now that Buddy is home, she follows up with us to help us maintain his training and I can contact her if we have any concerns or questions.
