Brought my puppy here for boarding while I was on a business trip. They take extra care to make sure your dog is up to vaccinations and provide a questionnaire to make sure your dog can be boarded. They do a temperament check to leave your dog for a day to see if they are sociable. When it came time for boarding I was sad but they gave updates via text and he even starred on their instagram page. I have no reservations leaving my puppy here again. read more

I was initially pretty excited to learn they were taking new clients. I became a little less excited when I learned they do not offer a facility tour and it is a $38 evaluation day fee, considering both of the other two doggie daycare places in my zip code provided a free evaluation day and a tour (so both you and your dog can test it out). In lieu of a tour, you get a link to some pre-recorded videos. The eval fee is non-refundable and when we arrived 30 minutes too late (my bad, got stuck on a work call) I was abruptly informed they have no flexibility to take dogs if you are more than 15 minutes late, and I could rebook by email and pay the fee again. Okay, fair I guess....but this gave me pause and I decided to carefully review all their policies again before re-committing. That's when I learned this about their pay-up-front packages: "Pet Owner further understands that after the sale, unforeseen circumstances may arise that are not within the control of APC which may prevent Pet Owner from fully utilizing a prepaid package, including, but not limited to: the death of the Pet, the relocation of PetOwner, behavioral changes in the Pet, and the decision to stop utilizing APC services. APC also reserves the right to refuse or terminate services to any Pet or Client for any reason, at any time. In any case, any unused portion of the sale (after deducting used services at regular standard rates) shall be only be transferable for use on other services from APC within the year the package was purchased." So even if your dog dies, or for any reason they decide to terminate your services, there's no refund? I mean, does this sound like a place that has your (or your pup's) best interest at heart? In response to the manager's comments: I reviewed the policies at both other well established doggie daycares in my area and neither state no refunds in the event of death or the facility deciding to end your services. I'm not sure what daycare in town has this "industry standard language". Also, although I didn't argue about the no refund policy for evaluation day, the manner in which it was handled didn't make me feel like a valued (potential) client. I send my puppy to daycare at Austin Pup Culture a few times a week. They are great about accommodating her! She is high energy, and often has digestive issues. APC screens all dogs prior to daycare. My dog is a blue heeler, so she must have good interactions with other dogs; one bad interaction could put her off dogs. So, I was very careful in which daycare I picked. Took my two dogs here yesterday for day care. Both dogs came home smelling like dog pee after only being there for a day. My car actually smelled like pee with both of them in there after pick up. Assuming this place needs to do a bit better in regards to their cleaning inside the facility. Dog Owners are not able to go inside the building when dropping off most likely due to the disgusting smell this place may have. One of my dogs prior to the visit was just fine in regards to their bowel movements and has now pooped 3-4 times within the 4 hours we have been awake with extreme diarrhea. All poops have been all liquid just the next day after visiting. Would not recommend to anyone wanting to have their dogs stay somewhere safe while they are away. read more

Austin Pup Culture is fantastic - I completely trust them to take the best care of my 8 pound mini schnauzer, Pru! Pru knows them as "school" and is so excited to go to school and play with all her friends a few days a week. They're super flexible, I love that they have little suites for the dogs instead of crates, and they're also more affordable than other places in town. Fawne, Kaitlyn, and Kelly are amazing and truly love all of the dogs in their care. They've also done a great job with protections during COVID and I'm so glad that they've been able to stay in business despite the shutdowns. This place is a joke. Prior to dropping off our dogs they said they would send updates by 1300. When we actually reached out because it was 1400 and there was no update they got pissed. Are you kidding me? Charge an arm and a leg for nothing. Both dogs came back looking extremely sad. Not sure what they did to them but I wouldn't leave a bag of poop with these guys. Oh did I mentioned they dont let you into their building. Yeah skietchy place looks like some ones with a bunch of 12 year olds running around.I have a receipt reach out to me for more info. My dog goes here 2x a week while I'm at work, and it's the best money I spend all week! The staff is so nice and consistently remembers her by name when we walk in. She always seems excited to go in and is exhausted when I pick her up. Both daycare and grooming are super affordable compared to other places in the area, and the daycare drop off / pickup times are perfect for anyone looking for care during work hours. You spend pretty much the same amount you'd pay a dog walking service to walk your dog for 30 minutes in the afternoon, but they get to play and have fun all day instead. I love Austin Pup Culture. Their staff is super responsive, and every time we come here, my dog is excited to walk through the door and at the end of a day is a very happy and tired pup. Walter has a lot of anxiety, and APC has never made me feel weird about that. The way they break up the groups ensures that he always feels comfortable when playing. I moved south so don't get to take Walter as much as I can, but it is definitely one of, if not THE best doggy day cares in the city. Plus, their prices are totally reasonable. So, I am a nervous mama and hate leaving my adult cocker spaniel. He is my baby and I haven't had to "board" him exactly. Usually we have had a petsitter watch him, but it just wasn't working out. My dog also has separation anxiety and he is a marker, so I didn't want to leave a handful of a puppy for them and make them frustrated. However, they were perfectly fine that he marks and said it was super common. They reassured me they clean the walls in the room if he has an accident and/or for any reason his toys or bed became soiled they would wash it. Wow! I like that I could bring as much of his stuff during his stay as I wanted. They liked it because it made him feel more like he was at home. I also like the fact that they will wash stuff if it becomes dirty, etc. Most boarding places either don't want you bringing anything of your own with them or they won't wash it. I also enjoyed that I could check instagram for pics and/or videos of him. They were also very sweet and considerate when I called every day to check up on him. They would tell me how he was doing and everything. It's even more of a plus to get his daily reports when you return to see exactly how he was doing each day, what his eating and bathroom habits were, and who he played with or what he liked doing. I give them MAJOR props for doing health and body checks daily. They noticed fairly soon that he had fleas on the under side. I told them we used Frontline Plus, but they recommended some others to try. They also gave him a Capstar to kill the fleas, quarantined him till they were gone to keep the other dogs safe, washed all bedding and soft toys, and checked him every two hours until they were gone. After that they let him play again. I am so thankful for them because they took care of him like he was their own, as well as helping discover a stronger flea preventative for us to use. And last, I requested a bath ($15) on top of the boarding and too my surprise when I came to pick him up he had a super cute 4th of July bandanna on. I LOVED it! I hope they do that every time! Overall, great experience and will definitely use them again. My only cons were its a little pricey ($38 a night for one dog), but well worth it. Another con is he came home with a goopy eye. Not sure if its allergies or got something from another dog while there. Still pleased none the less. read more

I want to start by saying I am writing this only after I paid my deposit for boarding my German shepherd for the holidays. We love APC and don't want to share our secrets but it is genuinely such a fantastic daycare and boarding facility. I love that I get the option to make sure my mush gets cuddle time and I always get a full report on his friends and habits, and he just loves to play. We used to be regulars at daycare until we moved, but they're the only place in Austin I will board my dog. He's a high energy adolescent German shepherd who wants cuddles and friends, both of which he has in spades here. I also want to point out that the other APC parents are really chill and polite and respect all of the drop off and pick up protocols that make taking our pups to APC stress free. Whatever they're doing, they're doing right! My very anxious and hyper dog absolutely loves going to day care and boarding here. Because of their amazing staff, I can take trips and go to work, knowing my dog is in great hands and loving life. Cannot speak more highly of APC! I've been bringing Leo (my Beagle Pupper) to APC for almost two years. I started bringing him as soon as he got all his shots and the APC folks helped him socialize with the other dogs. Happy to report that APC helped my dog become a happy and well socialized dog when it comes to interacting with other dogs. He's had a standing daycare appointment for most Fridays since he was super little. I've also taken him for boarding for 1-6 nights. APC always sends him home exhausted and happy. APC has also bailed me out a few times with last minute boarding for a death in my family and most recently when I got stuck in an airport due to a canceled flight. APC was quick to respond to assure me my dog would be taken care until I got back. In those stressful moments when you're trying to figure out what to do because of a canceled flight, it was nice that I didn't have to worry about who would take care of my dog. Lastly, and my biggest 5-star thing with APC, my dog can get a little separation anxiety. Even if he's on the other side of a gate, he will still bark and cry like crazy. But when we go into APC, he is always greeted by someone who is happy to see him and he walks away with them complaint free. Basically, my dog either wants to be at APC or with me. I took my dog in today for an evaluation since I have some travel coming up and wanted to secure a good place that he liked. Upon entry, the first thing I noticed was the stench in the lobby. It smelled like soaked urine, as if thousands of dogs have peed there and no amount of cleaning would get rid of the smell. Check in was a snap and the staff was polite. When I came back to pick up my dog, the staff member mentioned how great my dog was, and how he behaved well. I was under the impression that i would receive a full report card with information about BMs, playmates, anxiety levels, etc. but none was provided. I was already nervous leaving him there, and to receive no feedback as to how his experience was leaves me wondering if he even liked it and gives me no peace of mind. Not only that, but he came home smelling like urine!!! He smelled so bad that it stunk up the back seat of my car. If he soiled his space, I would understand, but I have no way of knowing since they didn't provide a report. I will definitely not be taking him back here again and am looking at Rover instead. read more

I've taken my pup here a few times and always feel good about leaving her for the day. She came to us from a shelter and often times that means unforeseen behavioral issues and lack of socialization. Since coming to Austin Pup Culture my girl has been doing better and better around strangers and new dogs. Their facilities are large and clean and they offered to show me the whole place. The rooms are large enough that I don't worry about my dog feeling claustrophobic. The doors are clear glass instead of wire so it definitely feels more like a home. They also have this great "lazy lounge" where they put less active or less social dogs. It has a nice big squishy couch and they play movies to keep the dogs minds going. I love that they offer nice meal and treat options too. I often give my dog a peanut butter stuffed kong at night and the girls here can provide that to my dog during day care too! They are still fairly new so I'm glad to be on the train early. I'm looking forward to utilizing their grooming service soon. (I believe they are still looking to hire a groomer...) But! When they do I can drop my pup off for day care and get her groomed the same day?! Count me in people. I owe Fawne and the rest of the team a lot of gratitude for helping turn our scared barker into a bum-wiggling happy girl everyday! read more

There are several issues with this place. Red flags went off for me the first time we visited, but my fiancé wanted to give it a few visits before writing them off. I firmly believe this is an unprofessional, unsafe place for anyone to leave their dog. - They do not verify that each dog has up to date vaccinations until after the dog has been dropped off and the owner has left, potentially putting other dogs at risk. - When giving behavior tests to new dogs, instead of slowly introducing the dog to one other dog like they tell you they will, they allow up to 10 dogs to rush at the new dog immediately - mostly because they have absolutely no idea how to control the animals. - Related to that, they can often be heard yelling from across the room "Play nice" as groups of dogs fight and play very roughly with one another. The staff appears to have no actual training in how to deal with dogs and they never use any actual dog commands. - They allow you to bring your own food in and claim they are happy to follow your instructions for feeding, but once you are gone they completely ignore them. When you pick up your dog you will either have way too much food left in your container (causing you to question what or if your dog ate while you were gone), or sometimes they feed your dog way too much and run out long before you return. This sometimes results in them simply not feeding your dog at all - and they never even call you to notify you that your dog is out of food. We recently left our dog with enough food for 3 extra meals beyond what he should have needed but somehow he ran out of food over a day before we were supposed to pick him up. They never fed him and did not call us to notify us/ask if we were OK with them giving him their in-house food. - They never answer the phone when you call, no matter the time of day. - Most of the time, no one is at the front desk. When you walk in you are often left waiting for a long time before anyone comes to the front to help you. On one occasion, we were greeted by an off-leash large dog that growled and barked viciously at us. We had to run outside to avoid getting attacked while we waited for a staff member to come and get the dog that somehow got away from them. Overall, this is a truly terrible place. I implore you - do NOT take your dogs here! read more

I have been taking my dog to day care and boarding here regularly for over a year. She's a young, high-energy dog, and the exercise and social time she gets here keep her happy and manageable. It's always great to see how happy she is whenever I drop her off. Other reviewers have written about how nice the facilities are here. I want to talk about the personal touch that you get when you take your pet to APC. As mentioned above, I am a long-time customer, but I will be leaving Austin soon, and with it, this great place. When I told Fawne, the owner, she seemed genuinely sad, and told us they were going to miss our dog, Penny. On our last visit there, Fawne gave us gifts for Penny: a really high-quality toy and a customized stocking with her name on it (it's late November as I write this). I can't think of another business I interact with on a regular basis that gives me this level of personal care and authenticity. I recommend APC to anyone and everyone. read more

I am so happy that we found this place. My dog is a determined escape artist who's always looking for an opportunity to run freely through the streets of Austin - so I have to be choosy when it comes to boarding her. Austin Pup Culture has taken care of our dog on several occasions and they have always done a great job. Colby (the dog) is always super excited when we pull into the parking lot and I always pick up a very satisfied and exercised pupper. I've also found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. Sometimes you can't reach them on the phone, but they're good about returning your call and responding to email. A few months back my dog snagged her ear on some fencing and had to get stitches a few days before I had to leave town. I was super nervous about boarding her while her injury was healing, but the staff assured me that they would take care of her, and they did. They even called me when I was out of town to let me know how her ear was healing, and that she was doing great. That was a very thoughtful gesture and I really appreciate it. The only thing about this place that is slightly negative is that you sort of have to book boarding stays well in advance for major holidays and whatnot, as they sometimes fill up quickly, but no biggie. They do a preliminary behavior evaluation to make sure your dog is a good fit, which is awesome. They also make sure that your vaccinations are up to date, which is also great. read more

Hands down, APC is the best place to board your dog in town. I've been taking my dog Nolan here for 10 months now, typically 3x a week. He's a medium sized dog, with a lot of energy, and I was a little apprehensive about finding a place for him. He'd actually been asked not to come back after a 3-day trial period at another kennel, apparently because he was more dog than they wanted to handle. The staff at APC told me that wouldn't be a problem, but I was still concerned. I shouldn't have been because my dog loves it here, and they love him. Nolan gets to run and play with other dogs his size (and energy level!) multiple times a day. He comes home in the evening completely worn out, and it's not unusual for him to sleep for 5+ hours immediately after getting home. Nolan can sometimes get a little aggressive when other dogs are playing with balls, and instead of getting upset at him (or me!) the staff calmly informed me and said they'd make sure no balls were on the floor when Nolan was in play group. Not sure how well that would have gone over at other boarding places. The staff is all super friendly, and loves to tell me about the new friends my dog is making, or what ridiculous things he's done that day. My wife loves that they take lots of pictures of the dogs and post them to the APC facebook page. When boarding overnight you'll receive a report card with notes about your dog's activities/behavior morning-noon-and night. The staff cares, the facilities are excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I can't recommend Austin Pup Culture enough. Your dog will love it. read more

Love this place and the staff! The facility is always clean and the play room is huge. It's all indoors so you can take the dogs there on rainy days when they would otherwise be stuck in your house and going bat-shit crazy. The kennels for boarding are spacious and very private with actual walls separating them, rather than plastic crates stacked up like I've seen elsewhere. I've been taking our two medium-largish dogs here 1-2 times a week for several months and while our older dog gets along great with every dog and person she meets, our younger one has some issues. The trainer at APC diagnosed "barrier frustration" which is kind of like leash aggression but happens instead when he walks by a dog behind a fence or kennel gate. I guess his dog-brain freaks out when he sees another dog but can't greet him in the typical nose-to-butt fashion. What really earns this place 5 stars is that instead of giving up on my lil dude, they have been working with him to help him not be such a weirdo. They take notes of his triggers and his favorite dog buddies for play groups. A trainer spends time with him teaching him tricks to stimulate his brain in other ways when he can't handle being in the group. The training sessions cost a little extra ($9 for each 15 minute session which is totally reasonable I think) and his trainer Leah showed us how to practice with him at home, too. I've boarded him over the weekend and that worked out fine. You can call or email for updates and the owner Fawne is really understanding about crazy dog ladies worrying too much about their dogs and checking in all the time. You get a "report card" after a board session that lets you know how they ate and pooped and peed and played every day. Both our dogs seem to love going there and get really excited in the car on the way, and then really REALLY excited when they see Fawne in the lobby. That's a good sign. read more

In July I took a vacation out of the country and looked into many places to keep my two chihuahuas. I did not want to kennel my dogs (nothing wrong with that) but wanted them to be as comfortable as possible. I lived close to APC and their reviews and website looked pretty good. I went by twice to check out the facilities and I loved the fact that my dogs could share a small room and have their toys and blanket with them. My dogs were there from Thursday morning to the next Friday. Everyday the staff wrote a progress report on how their day was. I will definitely use them again. The only thing I wish was different is if the progress reports could be emailed daily. read more

I found this place when I was taking a shortcut to my house. So I glad I took that shortcut. This place is awesome and I really like the fact they don't use crates for the dogs and each dog gets a "room with a view" so they can look out the glass door. The beds look really comfy and they seem to be super clean. The staff that I've talked to so far are really friendly and seem to really like dogs of all kinds (as opposed to some places that cater to the show dog crowd). I took my dog there for the first time and she loved it. Normally when I pick her up from the other places, she is literally dragging me out to the door to get out. Not this place. She stayed calm and actually went up to the owner and leaned in for a hug while I was talking to her. I'm really looking forward to taking her back for another play day and I feel comfortable knowing that these folks actually like my dog and she really likes them. Best of all, she was a perfect angel (perfectly tired) when she got home last night. Which, trust me, is not an everyday occurrence. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! They offer both play days & overnight boarding. The play rooms are very large so my dog has plenty of room to exercise (even on weekends)! They divide the dogs up by size & then monitor their behavior to ensure that on that particular day they've been matched with the best playmates for the day. It's VERY easy to call and make an appointment. They return every message promptly. The rooms always look clean. The staff is extremely friendly & caring. They include a basic report card with every stay & When asked they provide great detail on my dogs experience that day/week. They have frequent visitor packages/rewards. And you can customize your dogs experience by purchasing add ons if you want (absolutely zero sales pressure). Great things to consider: Each dog gets a suite, not a crate. If your dog, like mine, hates crates, this is a HUGE advantage. They provide a lot of exercise, even on weekends. I've found some places cannot staff weekends as well. I have a high energy dog who became restless at some of those places, but comes home happy after staying here. They do not nickel & dime you for every minute your dog is out of his suite. Once again, with a high energy dog this is a huge differentiator from some places (I'd go broke)! read more

I have 2 small dogs and we recently moved to Austin from Louisiana about a month ago. I had to go on vacation this weekend for a few days and had a bit of trouble finding a place to board- seemed like everywhere I looked was either full or required an interview (?!?) prior to reserving a spot. I was nervous about picking a reputable place, but when I called Austin Pup Culture and they had room, they were very nice and quick/easy to reserve a space with, but also took the necessary precautions to ensure proper vaccinations to prevent the spread of illnesses and that my dogs were dog-friendly. I picked them up today and reading over the reports I know my dogs were in great hands and had a great time! I love that doggie daycare is free with boarding so they get play time with the other dogs. My pups are a bit shy but they had great time playing and socializing. The staff is very nice and pleasant and the facilities are clean and well-kept. Also the prices are not bad either, especially for everything you get (daycare, multiple walks/day, etc.). I know I made a great decision choosing them and will definitely be bringing my dogs back for boarding in the future! read more

This place is wonderful. Not only do I like that everything is indoors for the most part, but you can also tell they really care about the pets and their well being. I enjoy getting the "status" reports when we pick up our dog that tells us what he did and if his eating or anything else was irregular. This past time we dropped him off and had to extend his visit by a day but then later realized that we hadn't brought him enough food. They could have given him the house food but they noticed on his sheet that he is allergic to chicken which is an ingredient in their food. I just told them to give him a peanut butter kong and he would be ok for one night. The vet tech offered to bring in her dog's food from home that didn't have chicken in it so that Moose could have dinner that night. ABOVE and BEYOND!!! So so amazing. read more

LOVE! I am so particular about where my dogs go to spend time when I'm not with them, and I can tell you that this is one of the best dog daycares I have ever been to (and trust me -- we've been to a lot!). My dogs were both happily worn out when I picked them up, and what really knocked my socks off is that the owners offered to give me a tour of the facilities -- NO daycare has EVER offered that to me before! They showed me the boarding facilities, the main play area, and my favorite -- the LAZY ROOM! That's right -- if you have an old / lazy / shy pup who doesn't want to romp around like my two monsters, there is a room set up like a home living room, equipped with comfy couch, rugs, and a tv where dogs can relax and snuggle with a staff member. I was simply blown away! Also -- how do I get the snuggle on the couch with dogs job? Everyone there who I talked to really seemed to know their stuff when it came to dogs / behavior / how big my 6 month old puppy is going to get, so I trust them completely. This place is AWESOME for your pooch. My fiance and I often joke that, when we roll up in our car and our dog realizes where we are, she would shank us just to get inside the building THAT MUCH FASTER. She can't handle how excited she gets every time we go to Austin Pup Culture! The staff is super friendly! They know the pooches by name and leaving your fur baby with them is comforting because you know they're going to have a great time. They have a great presence on social media too, so you can see what all the pooches get up to during the day. They always add new and interesting things to the facility-- whether it is a party for the dogs or a new plaything. They don't take the service they provide for granted! Having gone to a different dog daycare originally and having hated it (I could tell by her shaking every time we pulled up), I was looking for any signs of my dogs discontent at Pup Culture (thinking "maybe she just doesn't like daycare..."), but she LOVES it!!! I had to find a new dog kenneling service because our vet is not kenneling during COVID. I was pretty anxious because one of our dogs is a little skittish and barely out of puppydom. But unfortunately we had a family funeral and no other options. I found everyone at the location to be friendly and helpful. My dogs can't necessarily tell me how they liked it, but I know GiGi (7 years old) seemed pretty happy, and Chico finally warmed up. This was their first tome being exposed to so many dogs, and I think it went well overall. One recommendation I would make to the business is to automate the assessment and check in/out processes a bit more. That might make it more seamless. They definitely have the automated billing down! We ARE Happy with Pup Culture and their services ! Our Safi always looks forward to daycare ! They are so attentive to her and the socialization she gets here is amazing !! Day Care along with a few days of boarding really helped our other Adoptee Pearl settle in and get comfortable with other pups!! If I could give this doggy day care more stars I would. The staff is extremely friendly and you can tell that they truly have a love for dogs. My puppy, Scooby absolutely loves to attend day care! he gets extremely excited every morning when we pack and get ready to go for drop off. They offer a variety of services and even offer to bath him after a long day of play! Scooby loves the staff and we love how they care for him. If you get a call from Kelly, do not set your expectation high. Kelly is great a making sure her attitude in her voice is known. We just got a new Blue Heeler and lived downtown. We searched for a place we could take him so he wasn't locked in a kennel all day. The reviews for Austin Pup Culture were good, the photos showed the facility to be clean, and it seemed to be a place we would enjoy taking Ollie. Now, let me be clear so the entire story is told because I don't want to ignore the fact that I am also to blame. I had scheduled an evaluation for Ollie on a Monday which required that we pre-pay for the visit. I had to call to re-schedule (my fault because I didn't know we were moving when I made the initial appointment) the visit as we were moving to Lakeway into a new house and I was able to take off work for the day to tie up our loose ends from the weekend move. The evaluation day was re-scheduled for today (2/19). Keep in mind, I have already paid $40+ dollars for his attendance. I get to work and I get a phone call from Kelly. Kelly says, "Hi, this is Kelly from Austin Pup Culture. I'm calling about Ollie, you were supposed to have him here today" She was right. I immediately apologized and told her I had completely forgot (my fault, 100%, it was not on purpose) but I understood that he was scheduled, I explained to her that we most likely wouldn't be needing to bring him to doggie care any longer as the new house has a large back yard and he seems to be doing ok. Kelly made it very clear that she was inconvenienced by having to make this phone call to see where Ollie was and she also made it clear that she was very annoyed that we didn't call. All of those emotions are valid, however, I paid you and I apologized. Additionally, I did not request the $ money back for the evaluation seeing that I did not call to cancel. I understand that you are running a business. I'll be sure to mention "Kelly's" name and horrible service that is provided by this employee if anyone is looking for a place NOT to take their pet. We've been boarding our two pups here for a couple of years now, and we couldn't be happier with the experience every single time. Our dogs love it there, so that's probably the most important thing. we have two anxiety-prone terriers that both suffer from separation anxiety and all the other terrier quirks, and Austin Pup Culture is the first boarder we've ever used that our pups are excited to go to. When we drop them off, there's no whining, no trying to jump into our arms, no pulling on the leash back toward the car. There's just little tail wags of joy. They love it here, and when we pick them up, they sleep for two days straight. We like the way we're treated here too. Service is fast to respond and friendly and super accommodating. They are incredibly understanding of our dogs quirks and really go out of their way to make sure the dogs have a good stay. We've had some really not great experiences with other 'commercial' boarders in town, and for years we tried to use pet sitters and in-home boarding whenever we could, but we also do a lot of relatively last-minute travel for work that makes that very difficult. We're so happy we found Austin Pup Culture. I feel like our dogs get just as much high-value attention here as they do with a good pet sitter, and come home even more worn out from all the play. Plus nail trims and baths! We love the report cards the dogs get for each day of their stay too. I mean we appreciate reports on how well they ate, and the state of their restroom breaks and all that, but the real important stuff is the part where they tell us what other dogs our littles hung out with. Checking out Doggie Daycares. Walked in around 1:30 on a Tuesday. Place reeked of BAD dog odor. I introduced myself and was immediately informed that I could only tour the facility on Saturday/Sunday. I could understand....they needed to clean the place - it was filthy as compared to other daycares I had checked out. They allowed me to look into an empty playroom through a dirty glass window. I asked about the capacity of the daycare and was and after a long pause was told it was about 65 - 70 dogs. I next asked about how many dogs they had at the present and was also told that it was about 65 - 70 dogs (I don't think they new the difference). I am a reasonable dog owner, but would never leave my dog in a place like this! read more
