This museum is a hidden gem! With your admission you get to visit the museum and also a store credit that is about enough to get a pez dispenser to bring home. I didn't get to in depth with the museum since I was with a small child but visually it was a great place to soak up. Prices in the gift shop were great too! My family stopped here looking for a place to get out of the car during a road trip and couldn't have been happier. I assumed it would be small and we'd spend maybe 30 minutes here, and we were here for well over an hour. Each admission gets you a $2.00 credit in the gift shop, so it's really $3 with $2 worth of stuff. Plus, the scavenger hunt bingo game is great. It makes you spend extra time looking around to find certain Pez dispensers, which makes you see a TON of things you'd normally overlook. My 10 year old loved that part, and we even got a free Pez dispenser as a prize. We spent $14 for 3 of us on just the admission, and walked out with 2 dispensers, 3 postcards, and extra candy. read more

Decent factory tour - it's all self guided but there isn't too much to see by way of factory equipment. The collection of PEZ history is the reason to come here. The displays are so cool and we really learned a lot about the history of the company/brand. Definitely worth a trip!! read more

Have to agree with other reviewers that it feels like you're simply paying to enter a gift shop...but we really enjoyed it! Upon entering, the PEZ Orange County Chopper hangs high above your head. You'll have access to restrooms before you're required to pay admission for the museum. It's $5 for adults and $4 for kids ages 3-12 (free under 3 years). Your admission pass is a tag hanging from a PEZ lanyard which you may keep as a souvenir and you'll also receive a $4 credit toward any store purchase with admission. The first thing you should notice is the giant mechanical PEZ dispenser that opens and closes. Throughout the showroom, there are lighted blocks within the floor displaying groups of PEZ dispensers. You can view the factory from the showroom through large windows (no access) which wasn't operating during our visit on a Saturday. They have a large photo machine, I'm assuming it takes a photo with a funky background dropped in, but we didn't take part in that so I don't know the details. On the second floor, visitors have access to a lounge with vending machines and a large TV screen playing a video all about PEZ. You can view the showroom/museum from the second floor also which gives you a better view of the giant PEZ dispenser and chopper. I loved the vintage advertising posters displayed within the lounge and stairway. The gift shop offers many flavors of candy, dispensers, tshirts, small handbags, etc. We will definitely go back before Christmas for gifts and stocking stuffers! read more

Stopped here with my daughter to burn time before getting to the airport to fly home. We did the scavenger hunt & looked at all the old dispensers. We liked getting a little metal bucked to fill with our favorite PEZ flavors, yum. The factory was closed they day we went. They were out of a lot of sizes of clothing in the souvenir shop. If it weren't for the scavenger hunt it would have been a very quick in & out trip. Still a neat little stop for a fun little candy. read more

Tons of fun with or with out the kids. We had fun and it was very cheap. The kids loved the special pez despisers available there. My boys also did a fill you own pez tin. That was a great part. Between Boston and NYC is this place. We actually got excited when we were charged an admission fee since we figured that meant a great tour, sadly no tour. We did pay :( we stopped the next day on way home to see if we could buy a bucket of pez, with receipt in hand, trying to talk to guy at register, girl at front nearly jumps across counter to tell me to pay fee first with no chance to explain. If you have kids, or like candy - not even PEZ specifically - then this worth the 2 minute detour off of I-95. The admission cost is a little steep, but you get some fresh made PEZ to sample and store credit, so if you have four people, you'll have enought to get a free bucket of PEZ. And, since you're likely on a road trip bringing through this neck of the woods, who wouldn't want to have a bucket of candy in the car? I had no concept of the number of different dispenser that have been made - that was an eye-opener. Just seeing the number of permutations of Santa dispensers was borderline frightening. read more

Seriously such an amazing experience. We stopped at a gas station and found the pamphlet which included a $1 off coupon making each of our tickets $4 each plus we each got a $2 credit to the gift shop essentially making our tickets $2 each. This included free lanyards and a free bingo game which got us each a free pez candy. So extremely cheap date and was extremely fun. Lots of interesting pez memorabilia and tons of new characters to choose from to buy. There was a photo op and lots of cool displays. This place exists, and that is amusing. But, really, you're not getting much more than if you watched a special about the history of PEZ on Food Network or Travel Channel. Fun place to visit while transiting up or down I95. You can purchase standard and collectable pez sets and dispensers. Just have a few complaints. First they charge admission to get in because they have presentations of pez dispenser displays throughout the store and you can see the production area. Half the area is a store. No one leaves without making a purchase so basically I'm being charged admission to buy something. Even at 4 bucks per person, they should at least offer a better walk through of the factory rather than showing where sugar is pressed into blocks and seeing old pieces of plastic behind glass. If you have fond memories of Pez and want to collect some pieces you'll rarely see, go, if not just go to toys r us and but then there. read more

The kids loved the lanyards. I liked the $2 credit per admission you get. The scavenger hunt was fun too and the reward is a Pez dispenser. What you'll see are some displays of past and limited edition dispensers. The kids get to play a quiz game and get a certificate when they are done. We spent 5x the time on a line to pay for purchases than it was to walk through the displays but it was nice to see all the different dispensers that have come out. So I liked the Pez Museum quite a bit. It is small but it is a great addition to other random museums I have been to. $5 dollar admission gets what everyone else has mentioned which is pretty cool. Easy to find off the highway, parking was good and the admission was relatively cheap and it comes with a collectors lanyard and $2 off per person to use in their gift shop with the chance to do a scavenger hunt for a free pez dispenser. The factory itself is not huge but its packed with a lot of PEZ history as well as an upstairs level. It was a Wednesday afternoon and all went well. All in all, it served its purpose...to inform the public of its history and to have fun in the process. A very nice excursion. read more

PEZ is my favorite candy of all time and when we found ourselves 15 minutes away from the factory and visitor center, we had to go. It was worth it. Its a small place, mostly exhibits of old and rare pez dispensers and historical information about the toy candy. Also you can see workers packaging the PEZ thru a viewing window. Fun, friendly and affordable for souvenirs in the gift shop. For $5, you get admission, a PEZ lanyard and a 2$ coupon off a purchase in the gift shop. Our hotel had a flyer which had $1 off coupons as well. A fun, cool place, but dont expect to kill more than an hour here, which isnt a bad thing, just an FYI. read more

Did you know the PEZ factory is located in Orange, CT? Yeah, neither did I. I was browsing a tourist magazine and saw a blurb about it and of course it became my mission to visit and see what this PEZ visitor's center and factory was all about. The factory itself has been there longer than the visitor center. For one of their milestone anniversaries, they built the visitor center for people to come see where the magic happens. Upon entering, you get a cool little tourist name badge/keep sake and a mini pack of PEZ to snack on while you tour. The center is dedicated to the history of PEZ and you are on a self guided tour. They have cases of PEZ containers from the very beginning up until now and it's really cool to see what they started out as as well as see some super rare cases that you have probably never heard of. There are some interactive elements like making your own video and creating your own dispenser. There are windows into the factory where you can see them making the candy (if i had to wish for one thing, it would be that you got a tour IN the factory but oh well). Overall it was a cool place to see. I wouldn't make it your destination for the day but if you have a couple hours to go check it out and you are in the area, definitely do it! You get a $2 coupon to use on merch with the purchase of your admission ($5) and all the pez dispensers (unless they are limited edition or something) are $1.99 so you aren't required to spend money in the merch store which is not the usual for most touristy things. It was a cool thing to do and when you share stories about your vacation, you will notice everyone picks up on the fact you went to the PEZ factory. read more

We drive up and down I-95 about once a month and we always see the billboard for the visitors center. So traffic today is super smooth we decided to stop by. YES it is $5.00 to walkin and see the visitor center and to shop BUT to start off every admission gets you $2.00 off on the merchandise. You get a really neat PEZ lanyard as your visitor pass and they also have 2 games in-store that will get you prizes. One is in the front which is a bingo game in which you have to fill out the dates of the certain PEZ dispensers and once you got "Bingo" you take the card to the front and spin for a free PEZ dispenser! The second game which you would never know awarded anything because there is no indication that there is any prize) is a trivia game by the factory side. There are 4 monitors and you have to answer trivia, once you answer 20 questions it asks if you would like a printed certificate with your first name on it-Hell freaking Yea!! Cool PEZ collectors item! I'm quite satisfied with my swag of 2 PEZ dispensers, PEZ lanyard, certificate of achievement, random sight to see off the highway, great pit stop bathrooms are clean, excellent place to stop and stretch your legs from driving, they even have a few vending machines! Free PEZ would make it 5 stars!! Also the fact that the company line was not running was a bummer but nonetheless!!! read more

What a horrific event they had for the Easter egg hunt! They had over 1000 people and only 3 employees working !!! I'm pretty sure they BROKE the state of Connecticut LAW by NOT having COPS at this overcrowded event! They claimed they couldn't predict this turnout but they LIED on FACEBOOK it showed over 700 adults were attending! For every adult there was at least 1 child!!! How could they not do that math not to mention most parents had more then one child !!!! My son was like SIMBA in the LION KING during the STAMPEDE I had to snatch him up only being not even 2 feet in front of me and he left with bruises on his shins!! Can't blame it 100% on PEZ because these parents were GHETTO and MANNERLESS!! They did give out 9000 eggs for free but in fact it wasn't free it came with a price ! He didn't even get one egg as he cried I still was hoping the Easter bunny would cheer him up but almost got ran over by crazy angry parents trying to leave! At this point I cut my losses and left! I wrote PEZ explaining my disappointment and they basically said well if u stayed longer in the chaos and waited in the hour line u would have gotten some candy! After I wrote them back hoping to say come visit the factory and we'll make it up to you, they stopped responding like they couldn't care less!!! A once great place has now turned into a place I won't visit again! My son was traumatized at his first real Easter egg hunt that he could participate in he's almost 2 ! Not in love they charge you to go into a gift shop... but overall it is better than the last time I went. They do give you a $5.00 coupon off anything in the shop with your ticket and the "ticket" is actually a lanyard. I am glad they changed the name to pez visitor center because the old name pez factory was very misleading. Overall it was worth it and the kids like it.
