Bought a guitar from Guitar Center. My experience there was subpar to say the least. I got my guitar home I realized it was a little out of whack and could definitely use a tuneup so I took it to Pfabe's music. They filed down the rough edges on my frets, polished my fret board and guitar, and I upgraded to some thicker gauge strings. My guitar looks and sounds amazing! And the best part is the cost of all the work came in slightly slightly less then my estimate. I love Pfabe's, been buying guitars and gear there for twenty years. They had the best staff. Until now, they have a manager that is just rude af and cant answer any questions about PRS guitars, and they are supposed to be a certified dealer. This dude in braids is the manager and he is so scabby and rude to talk to. I hope they 86 that dude cause he has no business working in a music store. its a shame really. read more

David (Guitar Tech) is my go-to person for all guitar work that I required. I had recently adjusted the tremolo system on one of my strats to pull the bridge down flush with the body and decrease "float" for tuning stability and better playability. Unfortunately, I did not consider how this would affect the intonation and string tension of the guitar, which initially made it nearly impossible to even tune and slightly bowed the neck. I took it to David and, in less than a week, he had it playing like Clapton's with several significant upgrades from stock from provided parts (locking tuners & bone nut). In the end, he only charged me $60 for everything, which is a steal considering that techs can charge up to twice that for just a full setup, which would not include installation of the listed upgrades. Before this, I had brought at least ten higher-end guitars (Martin, Gibson, Fender, etc.) to David for bone nut upgrades and corresponding adjustments. He was extremely reasonable with the price every time and communicated well on the rare occasion that we encountered a hick-up. Again, the guitars ended up playing much better than they did when I brought them in, making me think that he still did some additional setup tweaks without charging me extra. The staff at Phabe's Music is always nice and helpful whenever I do need to pick up a items while I'm there. They are punctual opening and closing the store, and keep their promises when arrangements are made with their customers. Cannot recommend them enough for your musical needs! read more

Had to get an instrument a couple of days before school. They were awesome! They had everything I needed and answered any questions I had. You can do an awesome payment plan and if your kid doesn't want to play that instrument they will apply your past payments to the new instrument. read more
