We waited an hour for our food. About 30 minutes into our wait, our server, Cody, told us the ticket had been lost but that the food was almost ready, and the kitchen just needed a new ticket. He lied to us, as the manager then told us he never put the order in. We received barely any compensation for this either which is extremely disappointing given the circumstances (30%). The people there are extremely friendly and kind. The bakery has a wide selection of house made treats like fudge, pound cake, and cookies etc. ice cream was also fantastic, we had the gram central station and blueberry cheesecake, and they accommodated our allergy's. read more

I didn't know this space had finally been filled until my brother picked it for lunch. I'm always up for trying out a new place when it opens I remember when this was originally Newt's (was great at first, then got terrible) for many years, then turned into Ni Fen's Kitchen (this was a huge disappointment both times I visited). I was crossing my fingers this would be a solid lunch spot. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Hot Roast Beef sandwich with the spicy mayo on the side. It was a huge sandwich! I had the chips on the side, and while they were just simple homemade chips they really hit the spot. Our waitress brought out chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal, which I think they do for everyone. Our service was solid and great overall. This is the perfect new lunch spot to visit in Shelby. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, perfect for a small lunch meeting or just seeing a friend and getting a bite to eat. Pfeiffer Café is a new addition to the Shelby dining scene as of a couple of months ago. They occupy the space that was once Ni Fen Kitchen and Newt's. I believe they own the Gift Boutique on the same block and are branching out into a new business. The space is a well-lit corner property with lots of windows. The décor is a bit on the shabby chic side with some chandeliers overhead. Breakfast and lunch are offered, along with pastries for dining in or to go. We came here for lunch the other day and the place was buzzing with activity. It was a little difficult to see what was in the pastry cases as they are wedged pretty closely to some tables. There were a few things left but it looked like things had been pretty well picked over by lunch time. My wife had the Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken ($7.50) and I the Reuben ($8.95). The sandwiches here come with a side. The menu has what you expect a traditional style café to have - soup, salads, sandwiches and desserts. My sandwich was pretty good and the fries were nice and hot. My pickle looked like it was in a fight and lost - lol. My wife has been here before and swears by the Chicken Caesar; the dressing is pretty darn good. Our server and the hostess checked on us and made sure our drinks were refilled. Pleasant experience over all - I think this type of place/fare may be what it takes to keep this location open and successful. Between the price point, quality and atmosphere they have it should be able to continually attract a steady stream of patrons in Shelby. Maybe just carry a few more desserts and something a bit more exotic for the adventurous! read more

We love their menu! Very cute little cafe. Service sometimes a little slow if you come on a Saturday afternoon because it's very popular.

I stopped here one day with my family and didn't even realize this was on the town square. It's a great lunch place and everyone was pretty happy. I had the cheese coney dogs and they were fantastic. I rarely order hot dogs out anywhere but these sounded really good and they didn't disappoint. Nice sweet chili, toasted buns, and melted shredded cheese. The cakes, though. Oh my gosh, the cakes. We got a piece of white chocolate raspberry and a piece of carrot cake and both were excellent. They have a nice selection of desserts and such, the staff was super friendly, and the tea was really good. read more

I haven't had much actual experience here, but I got some cheese curds and some fries today and uh let me tell ya they're definitely the best in town. These are some damn good fries. I don't normally leave reviews so if I'm leaving a review just to rave about some fries, you should probably check it out. read more

Had a girls day with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, and grandmother yesterday! The food was delicious with large servings for our strawberry salads! We didn't take pictures because it was so delicious and we were hungry! Service was also amazing! Highly recommend coming here! read more

Traveling from Charlotte to Ashville & refusing to eat fast food we decided on this cute locally owned option. High ceilings, spacious table seating, generous portions and a friendly staff. We took home a jar of their Raspberry Jalapeño Jelly (which was served complimentary with mini cheddar biscuits shortly after we were seated) and cleaned them out of walnut fudge drops. This is 100% worth the short detour off the main drag. read more

I have supported this place regularly. I give them the benefit of the doubt each time - as there has always been a problem of some sort. Today was the last straw. Completely incompetent with orders; rude and disrespectful staff/owner; not willing to take ownership of said problems - always someone else's fault; and some of the food is what anyone could make at home. I always try to support local establishments. I will not enter these doors again. You can go to the grocery store and get the same salsa they use - I personally watched them take it from a big jar and put it into containers for the table. Same for some of the other sandwiches. Never has been anything special. They even get most of their bakery items from other people. You could go straight to the bakery and get a better deal for the item. read more

We love this new little cafe. Service is friendly and helpful. The variety of food selections has grown. Soups are served hot, quiche was thick and tasty, and sandwiches are delicious. I plan to try the hotdog next time. The side choices offer of variety for all to enjoy, from fruit to chips, and the chicken and dumplings are an option also. A selection of cookies, brownies, and cupcakes are available. I would love some fresh homemade cake options also. This restaurant had great food, the atmosphere was a small town family owned restaurant which was different and I liked that. They had a great milkshake called the "The luck of the Irish" and it was amazing. The Cheese Burger was really good and juicy, the Chicken Caesar salad was pretty good too. To sum it up, the food it good, the atmosphere is nice, and it's a really neat restaurant. read more
