He pulled the plug and said you need a new motor. I said ... well, ok... what would that cost? He said it isn't worth putting one in. I don't even know if a motor for that dryer exists anymore. He then proceeded to hand me a business card of an appliance place that a "lady friend" if his works at. He said call her, mention mine and she will take care of you. He then took out a receipt pad and wrote out a bill for me to pay... he handed it to me and it was for $100.00!! One hundred dollars!!! I started to laugh.. he said why are you laughing. This is my service call fee!! I said... you have to be joking!! You pulled the plug and have been here, maybe 5 min. And You didn't travel far! He got angry. I didn't like the look on his face. So I paid him the $100 And he left! Geesh!! I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and it takes my one and a half hours to make $100. And I'm putting a lot of physical labor into my profession. Two of the circuit breakers were over amped for the size of wire they were connected with. Mr Farthing opened the box and quickly verified the breakers were not appropriate for the wire. He exchanged them with lower amp versions compatible with the wire's gauge. Second issue concerned the master bedroom outlets which were wired incorrectly, the positive was ground and vice versa. Again, Mr Farthing quickly verified the issue was valid and examined the wiring to that circuit in the main box. Yep. Reversed but easily corrected. Makes me wonder how this was missed on the original inspection for the occupancy permit. Anyway, another instance of quick and professional service from Farthing Electric.

Here's the rundown: Pros: His cost for installing a 3 ton Lennox split system was less than half of my best estimate. Mr Carter is very knowledgeable on HVAC installation and arrived daily in the morning hours ready to work. I haven't used the heat yet but the A/C cooling just fine. Cons: Mr Carter misjudged the size of his unit and the size of my attic access. He had to cut a large hole in the ceiling. During installation I was informed that the disintegrated plenum needed replacing, extra charge. During install he needed this and that from Home Depot, extra charge. He arranged for drywall men who arrived the next morning, extra charge. In conclusion, filthy hand prints on my walls and scuffed and nicked moldings everywhere. Filth ground into my carpet was a complete mess. I had to get it steam cleaned, extra charge. The drywall men, though affable, did the worst I've ever seen, see pics, and apparently there was a money disagreement between the two that tried to draw me into. Just know that his price is for unit installation only! No frills, no duct work, no warranty, only the Lennox warranty. Would I do it again? I just do't know.
