This was a far more superior appliance repair experience than what I've been dealing with in the past few years with my AHS warranty. It wasn't that long ago that I decided not to renew my contract with American Home Shield, b/c it certainly seemed that I was putting in a lot more money than I was getting out of that plan. After checking the web for repair companies, checking services offered and reviews, I narrowed my choices to two to get started. The first call has never been returned. I've been meaning to replace my dishwasher for a few months now, finally got around to attempting to with a friend. We realized were a little in over our head so paused and then I searched for a local appliance installer. Quick Start popped up as a top contender so I sent my information for a quote/appointment. Within a day I received a call asking for the details and scheduled an appointment for the next day! He arrived slightly early (wasn't a problem for me as I was already home) and quickly got to work. Within about 1.5 hrs, old dishwasher was sitting in the garage, new dishwasher was installed and working with no leaks and very little clean up necessary for me related to the packaging of new dishwasher. During Hurricane Ida, I worked seven consecutive 12-hour shifts and slept at the hospital, so I got my freezer cleaned out, like, one day late. I wiped it out with bleach right after, but when I came back when the power came on, I found a puddle of liquid in the bottom pan of the fridge, under the freezer drawer, that I couldn't get to...YUCK! The next morning I called Devin at Quick Start. I didn't get off work that day until 7:30 p.m., but he came out that evening, took the freezer drawer off, cleaned up the mess, and told me what to do to get rid of the smell. Both our Samsung washing machine and dryer were broken. The washing machine would stop working and display a code. The dryer would continue non stop after the cycle was done as long as the door was closed. We called Devin on a Sunday, and scheduled an appt for 8:00am Wednesday. He was actually a few minutes early, gave us a heads up when on the way. After a cursory review of both machines, he diagnosed the issues, and went to get the replacement parts. I really wanted to give this man a good review, but even at the time of service, around or over a little more than 6 months ago, I called to get my dryer repaired, Devin talked me out of a repair and into a completely different dryer which was used but seemed "OK" at the time, I was so soooo wrong. First off the dryer was just loud as all hell when turning. Like, louder than normal loud that I couldnt have the laundry room door open when running it and as my office is next to it, couldnt even focus on work bc of it, also it is audible all the way upstairs, even with the door closed. I was willing to forgive this as I just dont have the capacity to go to the laundromat every week and was just glad to be able to dry my clothes. Not to mention the computer controls not working properly. Anyway, maybe last week or so I notice something, or better yet, the absence of something. The noise is gone! Halle-freakin-lujah! A true Christmas miracle! I can finally do the laundry without my ears bleeding. But lo and behold, a few days later the drum sounds like its kicking like a mule, the machine wont stop running even when the digital panel is off, and there's no heat coming out of it. Devin gave me an 18 month warranty that was "personally confident in", but again, at the time I felt like I was getting the short end of the stick, seems being polite gets interpreted as being a pushover so yeah, I decided to wait to see how the dryer panned out over time before leaving the glowing review he asked me for at the time. There's no way I'd purchase a n y t h i n g from him or request his services again, although I will say his recommendation not to repair the icemaker in the freezer and just get one that sits on the counter top may have been a good one.
