Carmel crunch & king cake rolls
    Michelle P.

I had heard from family in East Texas that I had to go try this place they heard of. I have to admit I was disappointed with the sweetrolls. Although you get what looks to be a good sized cinnamon bun with a considerable amount of toppings it's all misleading. I got the king cake roll, it looked beautiful but when I cut into it I found the entire middle to be hollowed out and filled with icing. I only got the outer ring of the cinnamon roll and what looked to be about a half cup of icing. For $7.00 I expected to at least get a whole cinnamon roll. We also got the Carmel crunch for almost $8.00, and it was so sweet that you could only eat a couple of bite before it hurt your teeth. So I would not recommend this establishment. It's over priced and underwhelming. The only redeeming quality was the young lady that waited on us was so very nice, helpful and had great customer service.

So delicious, atmosphere was cute. The employees were very friendly. We got the peach and cookies and cream loved every bite! Also got the Philadelphia shaved ice and the flavor blueberry 10 out of 10!!! Iced coffee was also good

Super yummy. The employee working the front was very attentive and helpful! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside has a few games and tables to eat at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]No issues with cleanliness.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried four different flavors and my favorite was the tres leches. All flavors were good though. I was worried that the cinnamon roll quality would be subpar due to being covered with the toppings, but I was wrong. The cinnamon itself was fresh and soft and probably delish on its own. I recommend to check out this place.

This was incredible. Took one home and honestly preferred it cooled down but my goodness one of the greatest things I've ever eaten. Staff was so nice!

I have been wanting to go to Cranky Granny's Sweet Rolls ever since I moved to Austin. I have a sweet tooth and I heard this spot was amazing. And it did not disappoint! First of all, the food is incredible. My wife and I ended up buying 5 different flavors (Banana Pudding, Churro, Strawberry Shortcake, Toasted Caramel Crunch, and Tres Leches). They also have vegan options available. Honestly, I don't know which is my favorite. They are all delicious and hearty. It's taken a week for us to eat them as it's so much food LOL. Second, the service was superb. The staff is friendly and helpful. We did not know what to order and they provided us with recommendations. The food came out relatively fast as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lastly, I loved the vibes and ambiance. They play great music inside. They have board games and card games you can play while you wait for your food or while you eat. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. It's a family friendly spot[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Overall, I would say it is a must try!

In route from TaterQue,, I saw Cranky Grannies sweet rolls which I have been wanting to go to for some time. I had no idea that it was so close to TaterQue restaurant. It's about a mile away right next-door to Baylor, Scott & White medical building. Today, I am totally going off the rails in terms of eating...let's call it a cheat day. I asked the cashier what was the most popular cinnamon roll and he said the peach cobbler cinnamon roll. So I said let's go with the peach cobbler cinnamon roll. I only planned to eat a tiny little bite of it which did not go according to plan. I would say I probably ate 10% of the cinnamon roll and left the rest for my hubby, which he certainly appreciated it. OMG this was the best cinnamon roll I have ever eaten in my entire life. It was out of the oven warm, super flavorful and the icing was just like none that I've had before with a cinnamon roll. This took cinnamon rolls to the next level. As I was driving home, I was thinking maybe I should've gotten two cinnamon rolls. Then I thought well I was able to experience some of the cinnamon roll without going totally going overboard so that was good thing. Once my cholesterol is within a reasonable level maybe I can look forward to having a delicious cinnamon roll all by myself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Surprisingly, there were not a lot of customers in the shop today, but I'm told by people who have been there on the weekends that it is crazy busy with long lines.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Therefore, I'm definitely glad I got a chance to taste the cinnamon roll today. Also, it important to note that Crank Grannies is a "no tipping" establishment. I highly recommend Cranky Grannies!!!

OMG! I haven't been a fan of cinnamon rolls since I was a kid because I haven't had one that tasted as good as the ones I would make with my grandma. But these right here, 10/10! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even when you walk into the store, the smell that hits you is just comforting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They make the cinnamon rolls to order so I waited maybe 10-15min and completely worth it. "Ya'll better come up hgo get you one of these"

The peach cobbler was fantastic! It's more like a peach cobbler than a sweet roll disguised as a peach cobbler. It is a lot of sugar so pace yourself or you will end up in the hospital haha!

Small little shop, probably family-owned and operated, which is nice. I got here about 2 minutes before they were open, and there were already people in the parking lot waiting for this place to open. Once noon hit, everyone got out of their cars and went straight here. I even heard people say they should have waited at the door with the number of people who showed up that morning. Ordering was quick and easy; there were some on display on the front counter and the menu on top. I waited about maybe 5-7 minutes before getting my order. It comes with instructions on how to store it and reheat it if you were not eating there, which is nice because there isn't a lot of room to eat in there. The cinnamon rolls were nice and fluffy the next day still, and they are not as sweet as other cinnamon rolls I had, which was nice; it was just enough. The employees were nice and welcoming throughout the entire morning rush, and everyone was patient waiting for their orders.

Had the best experience at @CrankyGrannys with 5 star customer service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also great to see both loyal customers and those coming to see what the fuss is about![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pros: - There is plenty of parking - Great staff - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - Great rolls( wet walnut was mouthwatering) - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great music[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But don't wait til the end of the day because then it might be all gone!

Be prepared for a sugar rush! If you've got a sweet tooth, this place will hit the spot. But if you prefer your desserts "not too sweet," this might not be for you. The cinnamon roll was fresh, warm, and loaded with delicious toppings--I loved it! I'll definitely be back to try other flavors. The service was just okay--not very friendly or enthusiastic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a chill spot overall, but probably better for takeout than dining in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We've been following Cranky Granny's for a couple of years and we finally made it down here. We drove down from Houston. It was definitely worth the drive. We also got to meet Cranky Granny's herself! She was very personable and her cinnamon rolls are fantastic! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is quaint and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be coming back!

You will wait, but it is worth every minute

On top of that, the matcha and desserts are truly excellent. The desserts are especially impressive: not overly sweet, very balanced, with a delicate, soft texture. Everything comes together perfectly here: the interior, the drinks, and the desserts they serve. This is one of those places where the whole experience feels thoughtful and harmonious. Based upon reviews and research, I deduced this was a place that required those who visit to order at a kiosk to get their goodies. Side note: I have noticed that many Bobba and fast casual places have reverted to this model; where customers order and pay themselves without the interaction of an employee and then wait for their food. The main difference here and other places that have similar self service is that this place provides customers with a plethora of Instagramable/ FOMO opportunities. My partner elected to order an oreo marshmallow frappe. This frappe was rich and decadent and included silky chocolate interwoven with oreo crumbles. This frappe tasted exactly like a 'fluffy' oreo; just devine. On the other hand, I ordered the creme brulee souffle pancake. For those who have not yet had the opportunity to try this Japanese delight, the name is what it implies; a creamy stack of pancakes with crunchy bitter caramel, and silky vanilla custard. This dessert happened to be accompanied by a dollop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. These pancakes melted in my mouth and each bite was just as good as the one that preceded it. Aside from the great desserts as mentioned above, there are far too many instagrammable opportunities in this place (*truly a foodie and Yelp Elites dream).

The cookies came in two nice, sturdy kraft brown boxes, and were tied with yarn bows and tags, so they'd make a great delivery to a client or as a gift. CookieCrowd also ships via Priority Mail (we did local delivery). The cookies: HOLY CATS. They are big. They are perfectly soft with a bit of a crispy exterior, just PERFECT. The flavors were fantastic. Carlos was a wicked dark chocolate espresso - not too sweet. Chip was the classic chocolate chip - better by far than the local competitor (who I will not name, you know who I mean). The only way these could be better, in my mind, would be a light dusting of sea salt. Patty - white chocolate and peppermint - was profoundly delicious - better than I could have expected!! We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken and waffles, and the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread. Before I get to the food, I want to recognize the excellent customer service. Since it was my first visit, I had quite a few questions. The employee helping us was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. She walked us through all of the flight options, and let us know that everything was made fresh to order, so there would be a short wait. I appreciated the transparency, and when our food arrived I soon found out it was worth the wait. The standout for me was the grilled cheese waffle with tomato soup. The soup tasted homemade, with bright tomato flavor and generous chunks of tomato throughout. It was fresh, and absolutely delicious. The grilled cheese featured a flavorful muenster and provolone instead of the standard cheddar you find everywhere else, and the waffle itself was crispy on the outside with a perfect gooey cheese pull. My friend enjoyed the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread since I'm not a huge fan of Biscoff. I did try the strawberries and cream, though, and both were excellent. The strawberries were fresh, sweet, and firm, while the cream tasted rich and homemade. The chicken and waffles were outstanding. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned, and the waffle had a wonderful texture: light and airy inside with a crisp exterior. It was served with syrup and a remoulade-style sauce. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully decorated with fun murals, word art and nods to Round Rock. For a first visit, Waffle Love made a fantastic impression. The next time I'm in Round Rock, I'll be ordering another waffle flight, probably the same 3 selections, just without the Biscoff spread.

When I arrived, I was told the cake wasn't ready and was asked if I could come back the next morning--which obviously didn't work given the timing of the event. As a substitute, they offered me a pre-made cake from their display case and assured me it was chocolate like I originally ordered, just with a chocolate mousse filling. They refunded me $15 to account for the difference, and I felt pressured to accept since I needed something for the dinner that night. Unfortunately, the situation got worse from there. When we cut into the cake, it turned out to be confetti--not chocolate. Then, when we tried to eat it, it was clearly stale, dry, and inedible. No one touched it after the first bites. It completely missed the mark for what was supposed to be a special moment. What's especially frustrating is that I ordered from them last year for the same occasion, and everything went perfectly--that's why I trusted them again. This time, however, it was a complete letdown from start to finish. When I called the next day to request a refund, I asked to speak with a manager but was told that wasn't possible. Instead, I was told I would only be offered a partial refund because I accepted the replacement cake. I understand that mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and quality here was really disappointing--especially for something as important as a birthday celebration.

I was patient until my niece was getting antsy, she finished her pastry, we both finished our mediocre coffees, still no toast... I checked and the Apple Pay time stamp went through more than 30 minutes prior. I asked staff if our toast was still coming and they replied rudely like I was being a jerk to even ask. Pagers for food when they went off were obnoxious beeping. Just give people a table number and carry it out to them. Maybe they have one little toaster and person in the back? That said once the food came, the tofu was DELICIOUS, and a large portion. We could have split it. Croissant was unimpressive as was their chocolate croissant. Macarons were tasty, but not with the signature chew that ones made with egg whites would have. $$ Two plain lattes, two lemon toasts, a chocolate croissant and 6 macarons with a $5 tip was $88.
