Was in town for work and was headed in for my morning. I knew I wanted a little sandwich but wanted to go local, and not your typically chain. This place was right around the corner from the hotel, and close to campus, so it was definitely convenient to stop in. There's plenty of parking, its in the parking lot of another major store I believe. I reviewed the menu and chose to go with the ham, egg, and cheese croissant with hot honey, which is most certainly the way to go. I would have liked a little more seasoning on the eggs, and thats where the hot honey did it's thing to add a little umph to it. The croissant was nice and flakey, and it was still warm by the time I got to work. The workers at the location were super sweet. I try to stay away from coffee because I already have a ton of energy, but they had lots of great options for coffees, flavors and milks!

I ordered Uber Eats from Hometown Coffee, and the breakfast croissant and latte I got were both pretty good! Packaging was great, and the coffee was sweet and well balanced. I don't know if I loved the croissant because I feel like there was something missing, but it was very flaky and had a lot of egg inside.

Great coffee! The staff is super friendly! I got a dirty chai latte and my sister got the strawberry matcha. Both amazing! We also got the turkey and cheese croissant. It was sooo good I forgot to take a picture! A must try!

The coffee and croissant were delicious but also they are SO NICE I can't wait to go back

Matcha with splash of strawberry and vanilla crème and field of dream coffee. Both were very delicious!!!!! Best coffee in Austin imo!

Coffee was amazing! 10/10!! Service was also great. I love honest opinions from baristas and their recommendations are always appreciated. Both drinks were recommended and were amazing! Outdoor seating only and in heb parking lot :) it was clean and less crowded.

northside latte and ham & egg croissant: fantastic!

Great little coffee and breakfast spot located in the parking lot of H-E-B. Been a few times now since it's so close to our place and we've been loving it! I've had the Northside and Field of Dreams lattes, both of which were great. I've also had the Baby Blue cold brew which was fantastic. My friend has gotten the Kanpai latte each time since he loves it so much and I thought that one was really good too. I've ordered each of the 3 breakfast sandwiches too: Ham & Egg Croissant, Turkey & Egg Croissant, and Bacon & Egg Croissant. Each are great tbh, the Ham & Egg comes with honey so if you're craving somethinf a little sweet that's a great choice. I also loved the chipotle aioli on the Turkey & Egg. Very friendly service too! Will absolutely be back!

What a sweet little modern farmhouse coffee truck! I stopped by with my kids earlier this week during a slow time. The truck is parked side by side with another in the corner of the HEB lot, with plentiful parking spots within close reach. The vibes are very Magnolia silos, with turf underfoot and clean farmhouse lines and decor. For a food truck, they have an amazing selection of coffee drinks, including a seasonal menu. So many options, from basic to adventurous. I went with a Daybreaker, which hit all the right notes. Good quality coffee, roasted by nearby Malone's. The chai concentrate is also made at Malone's and tasted like it...no nasty powder dregs and a full-flavored tea taste. So hard to find that in a chai these days! I also love that they have a great milk selection and several tables with umbrellas for shaded seating. A row of hedges shields the spot from the heavy traffic at the intersection. Jayce and Shara were both so nice and friendly, and we can't wait to come back! Even the kids enjoyed themselves :)

I had such a lovely experience here!! It was pretty busy when I showed up and the barista came out and hand delivered our drinks to us and thanked us for waiting and it was just such a kind gesture, it brought a huge smile to my face. I got and iced chai with almond milk and it had the perfect balance of spice and sweetness and was so smooth and refreshing. I will definitely be back!!

First off the nicest people I've ever had take my order!! Such a cute little off the highway coffee truck, adorable seating areas with umbrellas for shade. My latte was delicious! And they had nitro cold brew, which my husband loves!!

    Kanpai

I have passed by this coffee shop several times. I noticed it when it changed from Malone Coffee to Hometown. I wanted give it a try and finally got the chance this morning. I ordered the Kanpai for myself and 2 Northsides for my coworkers. All with skim milk. The Kanpai was recommended and I really really enjoyed it. It was exactly as advertised in my opinion. The Baristas were friendly and patient for a new customer. The price is pretty on par with most local and chain spots. I would definitely recommend Hometown Coffee as one of my favorite coffee spots in Austin.

Lovely coffee spot, the staff is so sweet and friendly, sandwiches and coffee are delicious. Love stopping by when I'm in the area. Their Field Of Dreams latte is to die for.

I read the Yelp reviews before coming (more on this later). I only had the traditional bahn mi with three kinds of pork, including sliced and pate. The bahn mi was as it should be, a thinner sandwich bread, similar to a baguette but skinnier, with lightly pickled daikon and carrot, a cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno. It was delicious. Which brings me to the Yelp reviews. A number of them are complaining that the bread isn't as large as a traditional French baguette. This is because a bahn mi doesn't traditionally have a larger sized baguette. A traditional bahn mi bread is inspired by a French baguette, because the sandwich is a fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisines, since the French colonized Vietnam and influenced some of their food and architecture. But it isn't traditionally as thick as a baguette, and is made of a mix of wheat and rice flour. The owner happened to be typing on his laptop and I talked to him about the bread. It is made in house, by him. It is made thin, but doesn't have rice flour. I was frankly grateful that it wasn't a normal sized baguette, because that would have scraped up my mouth and required having a lot more toppings to balance the ingredients with the bread, making a much larger sandwich than I would want to eat. In the US, a restaurant owner making a bahn mi often faces a choice between making their own bread in house, having a local bakery make it for them, or buying from a bakery that already makes French baguettes. So what people are used to eating isn't authentic, but is a cost-saving tradeoff made by using a regular French baguette, usually the cheapest of the options. So before you complain about the shape and size of the bread, please understand that this is closer to the real deal than you are used to and not a defect of the bahn mi bread served in this restaurant, despite being named "Baguette House". The rest of the sandwich is open to criticism and I agree with some that the pickled veg could have used more vinegar, but the bread was well-made, crunchy crispy outside, with a soft interior. Delish.

I usually go for the chicken or ribeye beef bánh mì, and the portions are just right--not too much, not too little. The bread is made fresh daily, which really makes a difference. I also appreciate that there's some flexibility with customization if you're not a fan of certain traditional garnishes or want to add extras. Their Vietnamese and Thai dishes are consistently good as well--I tend to stick with their curry, which never disappoints. On this visit, I stopped by for Vietnamese iced coffee and some baked goods. I tried the shortbread cookies; they weren't soft like I had hoped (their lemon cookies are soft and delicious- my husband had it from here before), but that's pretty typical for shortbread. The iced Vietnamese coffee is one of my favorites here--perfectly balanced, not overly sweet and not too bitter. The café has a nice setup with a decent amount of seating--great if you want to stop in for coffee or sit down and enjoy a meal with family. The staff are always friendly!
