Makes appointments and then cancels them. First time was "family emergency". Rescheduled after some difficulty, then he cancelled again an hour and twenty minutes before the time he agreed to come the second time. It was OK on Thursday, then "too busy on Friday" one hour before the appointment. And I had to ask him if he was still coming after they flaked out the last time on Monday. Why can't he get it right when he makes an appointment? Showing up to do the quote should be the easy part. There is no way one day makes that much difference for appointments if this was really a professional company. I suggest you be careful with this one. I would have driven to the location and he would have failed to show a second time. Promises made should be promises kept. One time problem I can understand, but two times flaking out and not communicating unless I ask is not a company I trust. Take care and beware. We need to only hire companies that can actually show up when they say they will and quote the job as they promised to. Saying you are "too busy" to do that is a red flag and should be a warning to everyone. No good company is "too busy" to do what they agree to. If that was really a "family emergency" on Monday, he would not have flaked off again on Friday, with me having to ask if he was still coming an hour before the scheduled appointment. He then said "he had no start dates until next year". This has "bad to do business with" written all over it. read more

My name is Ray Y. and I have hired PG Brothers Painting two times in the past 6 months: for exterior house painting and an interior wood restoration to my historic house. I really don't know if I can appropriately put into words how incredible the work and craftsmanship this company puts into their work. First, the interior wood restoration work in my 1914 Craftsman home require such precision and cosmetic work, not to mention TEDIOUS sanding and paint removal, that very few other contractors were even willing to take on the job. Actually, one. Not only did PGB take on the job, they KILLED IT! It easily increased the value of my home exponentially. The type of wood is so uncommonly used today, and if you screw up one little thing, it will deminish the entire look. They made no mistakes, and in fact, they brought the wood back to life - because it was in pretty tough shape. That was in June. Just a few days ago, PGB finish an exterior paint job, and again, my 100+ year old home was in tough shape outside. BAD. My craftsman home now looks like one of those "show" houses in my historic district that my wife and I use to always envy and dream about. PGB gave us one of those homes. PG Brothers is really a one stop service, they do many residential services even though painting is indicated in their business name. When I first hired Valentin and his brother, I only thought I needed a few rooms painted, but of course as any homeowner would know, somewhere along the way, you will find extra things that you want to get fixed as well. Valentin was incredibly accommodating every time I wanted to add onto my project, which ranged from installing laminate flooring to painting additional spaces in the house. The level of communication throughout the project was superb, constantly giving me updates on the progress and what would be done the next day. Aside from great customer service, their attention to detail was impressive as well. I've had paint jobs done by other contractors before where the corners and small spots needed additional touch up, but not with PG brothers. Valentin's brother did an incredible paint job on my walls where I couldn't find a flaw. Furthermore, their prices were very fair.
