We called Brightview Painting for a quote to repair some exterior stucco damage, repair some wooden edging, waterproof the exterior base around the house, and paint the exterior of our house. Edgar stopped by to look at our house to get an idea of what would be required to paint the exterior. He told us he could accomplish all of the above and that it would take up to two week to do so. We liked Edgar's detailed description of what he could do for us so we chose Brightview to paint our house. The painters arrived promptly every day at 7:00 a.m. They scraped, sanded, power-washed, and dug back dirt around the base of the house before applying waterproof coating and primer. Painting started after almost a week of prep work. Edgar told us he uses Sherman-Williams paint, but he could match a color from a different brand. After paint and final touch-up, the color we chose turned out to be better than we expected. Edgar and his employees are friendly, prompt, and professional. What seemed like an overwhelming project was made so much easier with the help of Edgar and his team, who were involved and always helpful with every question or concern. He was apologetic for not taking care of my concerns sooner and let me know that he had been dealing with a number of issues that had made him unavailable. He seemed genuinely interested in making sure I was happy with Brightview. He and his crew came over a few times during the next week and addressed every one of my concerns. My ceilings are now flat and smooth and all of the edges are even and straight. My fireplace looks great. I'm posting new pictures to show how it all looks. Another Great Experience with Brightview Painting! They painted the inside of our office for our renovation. Edgar was great and easy to speak with. He had a clear understanding of what we wanted and which colors we wanted on which walls. His team worked quickly and efficiently. They tackled two problem areas and made them look great, one being a tall ceiling that was painted red and the other removing and drywalling back a false arch coming off a beam. Great care taken with our windows as well, and Edgar was knowledgeable showing areas where previous painters had not taped off correctly. Edgar came to give me my estimate. He came on time and gave me the typical sales pitch. Mind you I've gotten quotes and estimates from various vendors. Paint selection was very difficult for us and with Edgar's recommendation, we were able to find the perfect color. PROS: Two guys came and finished in about 4 days for my ~1650sq ft home. They came promptly at 7am and finished around 4pm every day. We did a few walk throughs with the guys and with Edgar to correct any imperfections and needed touch ups. Edgar was patient and worked with me when I was unhappy with things and tried to correct it best he could. CONS: they don't prime your entire house and they don't have you inspect each process of work, so I don't even know if they thoroughly washed my walls to get all the chips and loose paint or patched everything appropriately. They did not prime over the area where they did my samples so I can still kind of see the squares where the samples were painted (but Edgar tried to blend it in). The "coats" are relatively thin so make sure to request to see when they finish each coat. And make sure that they cover your floor area well as there was paint splatter on my plants, ac unit, and floors. Overall I'd say I'm happy with the work. Not absolutely in love but then again, I know I am very picky and a bit of a perfectionist and it's really unrealistic to request for perfection when it comes to things like this. At the end of the day, I would recommend Edgar and his team to friends and family, but I would encourage them to ask to be shown each step of the prep work as it is being done and to spell out clearly about the priming and preparation in the contract. read more

I LOVE THESE GUYS! I had two weeks off from work to get myself moved out of my one bedroom condo and into my new house. I called Freddy about a month prior to the move to get a quote to paint my condo. I'm renting it out and I didn't want to spend a ton of money. Freddy was my last call and all the guys who showed up before him had CRAZY prices. Maybe it's because I'm a woman? I'm honestly not sure. The highest quote I got was using the exact same paint as Brightview, which is Sherwin Williams Paint. Freddy came and gave me a quote and I was blown away by the difference in price compared to the other vendors. In the back of my mind, I was worried that I would have to watch their work and tell them to fix things. That was absolutely not the case. The only negative comment I have is that Freddy was late a few times BUT he ALWAYS called me to let me know he was behind schedule. So, I can't really knock them for that. LA traffic, what can you do? We went ahead and scheduled the work to be done a month out. I also made an appointment to have him come give me a quote for my new house. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get him to start on my house in the time frame that I needed but he made it happen. The price was so reasonable. The guys on his team were so friendly! They listened to all my concerns and made sure I was happy. They even ended up repolishing my floors in my house for me at a great price! They were not just fast but they were also efficient. All the members speak English and just do a great job. My condo looks brand new and my house is even better than I could have imagined. The work is good. When issues came up, the owner always had an excuse. My security camera got knocked out during the power wash at the exact moment they hit it...I was told to call my security company (I spent 3 hours on the phone fixing that). There was a paint spill on my driveway...I was told it looks like a different color from another paint job. The owner did come and clean it but only b/c I told him I have video of that exact spot without paint, then video when they put their equipment/paint there and then video of the paint on the driveway. There was also some stone at the side of the house that they moved to paint the house and didn't put back which I had to do...his answer was you should of said something. There was paint overspray on a light which I asked them to clean. The cleanup caused some issue to the light and he said to discount the bill by the amount of the shed paint fee (added charge we agreed to) for that light repair (needed an electrician). Initially he wanted to send someone who is not a licensed electrician. So you guys take 4 days to prep and paint and want me to notice everything in 10 mins! We paid the entire contract in full (in cash) less the exact amount of the shed which he agreed to remove for the light repair. During a final conversation, due to my comment that I may leave a negative review because he always had an excuse and was difficult to work with, the owner has decided to not provide a paid in full receipt. The final DocuSign for payment received he sent actually says he will put a mechanics lien on my house for the shed painting charge which he waived for the electrical repair. He wants to hold that amount as not paid plus interest for any negative reviews even though he was paid in full. I am not signing something that takes away my right to a review. I paid in full as agreed but he decided to add a review clause in the final payment DocuSign. When I questioned that, he tells me the original contract states he can put a mechanics lien for non payment...no kidding, but you cannot refuse to provide a final receipt when you were paid and lie and say I didn't pay you $200 which you agreed to waive and hold that against me! BTW I also have video of me paying his assistant in cash, and explaining that the owner said to reduce the total bill by the amount of the shed. I also have video of the owner saying he would provide the paid in full receipt when he came to clean the paint off the driveway. Big no no Edgar - you don't threaten a mechanics lien on someone's home or send a DocuSign asking to not post a review to issue a paid in full receipt because you are afraid of a review...now you have your review. Btw - how can a final DocuSign say client paid in full, is 100% satisfied AND then state there is a balance outstanding. You threatened a mechanics lien for a review by adding a section even though you stated you were paid in full on the same document. You are either owed money or not - very simple. You wrote we verbally agreed and I paid in full. Can't have it both ways - you were paid, give me my receipt without a clause and don't lie by saying you weren't paid. Again, I have surveillance video with sound of all of this so please don't waste my time or yours. Thank you for the reply...who's lying now about payment in full...these are your responses! Hi Edgar, I gave Emma $660 cash today as the deposit per contract, can you please confirm receipt. Yes received thank you V!
