Based on all the positive reviews, I was very optimistic that this would be my go to place but it's definitely not. I got a manicure and pedicure and not only were my nails not shaped evenly - squared off on some and rounded on others but the polish on my fingers began chipping off the next day. I have never had that happen before. I regret not taking a photo, but I was visiting family out of town and they all saw the results. So disappointing. read more

As someone who doesn't get their nails done often, I really appreciated how informative she was--she walked me through all my options and gave me great tips on how to care for my nails. Not only is her work amazing (seriously, even better than the inspiration photos I brought in!), but she's also so easy to talk to. Every appointment felt like catching up with an old friend. She even fit me in last minute several times when I had bridal parties coming up, and I was so grateful for her flexibility and kindness. The whole salon has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This was my 2nd visit at Phantastic Nails and won't be my last. Each visit has been filled with good vibes and conversation. My first visit was with an older nail tech who did a powder dip removal and basic manicure for me. They are always professional, kind, detail oriented and meticulous here with their work. I have been to so many nails spas since turning sixteen. Service and quality are two things I prioritize. Thao is very bubbly and takes pride in her business. I enjoyed chatting with her while receiving a powder dip service. Making an appointment is always easy and she is always willing to accommodate. Recently I visited a new nail spa and my nails have not been doing so well. I decided to make an appointment with Thao who recommended powder dip to nurse my nails back to health. I added tips for some length and absolutely love them. I did not have to wait at the start of my appointment time and Thao was able to multitask while another client was seen as well. Not only did they accommodate all six of us, they even scheduled us in a way that meant we had the whole salon to ourselves for an hour! The experience was incredible. They were really friendly here. Im picky with my nails and Vivian and her daughter did an amazing job making sure they were shaped and colored exactly how I like them. She even shaped my real fingernails before putting nail tips on, which Ive never had done. The attention to detail is truly appreciated. The ambiance in there is so clean and calming. I love all of the small details. The water bowl for my manicure even had pretty little stones in it. I love that they have fresh hand towels (soo much better than paper towels). The biggest plus about this place is the HUGE color selection. They have a variety of gel and regular colors. I walked into PNS with a nail torn completely off and although they were very busy they were able to work me in. My nails lasted OVER 4 weeks!!!! I stumbled upon Phantastic Nails & Spa on Saturday afternoon and walked in right before they closed not realizing the operating hours. They were willing to take me in for a pedicure and manicure with gel polish. The service was wonderful! They offered me something to drink which included water, red or white wine. The staff were very friendly, which is sometimes hard to find. The prices were reasonable as well. 10/10 recommend! read more

I loved this nail spa! I used to be a client of the previous owners, and the new owners are incredible. I had a wonderful time, they were kind and courteous and professional. There are some places in Raleigh that are overly crowded and they want you out the door quickly with the quality of nail being bumpy and off, but here they want you to love what you're getting done. They ask often if you like the shape and color and I appreciated it so much, and they fixed all requests I had. I came out with smooth and glossy nails, and I loved them! After driving across the country, my feet and body were just destroyed. I was thrilled that a local friend recommended Phantastic Nails and Spa to me. I went in at opening on a Thursday morning and they were able to fit me in right away without an appointment. I got the Royal Rose pedicure with a rose scrub, paraffin wax, and massage. The nail tech was amazing and I felt so relaxed when I was done, and my feet and legs were so soft. He even took extra time on the foot massage. If there's anything fantastic about this place, it's the fact that they Have enough business to pay the operating costs. If they have good reviews, they've been created by the place itself, or come from a select group of patrons that fit a certain client demographic. The only thing worse than ignorance is being snooty about it, and It's sad that after a long period googling salons, I actually believed that this place would be it for me. I've never walk out of a salon so surprised by the journal attitude. It's no wonder why the place was virtually emp me to put my pocketbook onto their dirty floor was not able to understand what I wanted, even though there was nothing remarkable about it, and she did a lot of eye rolling until she finally understood what I was explaining to her. At that point, she attempted to dissuade me by telling me it was too expensive a process. (Huh?) I stood up, and on my way out the door, I told her I've never been to a salon so disrespectful of customers, adding that I was on my way to find one that would help me. Before I even got the sentence finished she was taunting, in her very sing song Vietnamese English accent, "okay okay bye-bye," before I had even finished announcing my departure. If I could rate this place a "Zero" stars, I would due to the unnecessary, deflective, passive aggressive attitude, and unprofessional customer service of ONE person...the young lady named Thao. She is incompetent and can NOT be wrong or corrected...even though you're the paying customer who is not happy with the work and service. Make that make sense....???? I guess We as customers are just supposed to accept whatever MESS of a job that she decides to give to us and be happy to give her our money just because her name is THAO. I guess the attitude is to intimidate people from correcting her??? Pay her to have an attitude with me...Ithink NOT!!! Simple people have much attitude to disguise the inability to effectively communicate. If your livelihood depends on returning customers and building relationship, you would think she would be smart enough to figure out how to properly conduct business.
