    So chic
    Marissa M.

I'm a loyal client of the Cary Hatches Pond location where I have received pedicures for the past 3 years. Wade Ave is closer to home and I gave them a chance. Yesterday was my 2nd visit and last at this location. The receptionist is great and booking is easy. The nail spa shares the same theme as the Hatches Pond location, very chic Parisian and modern. However, this is not consistent with the uncomfortable seating here. You are seated at a makeshift shared wooden counter, in office chairs that are severely uncomfortable. You are squeezed into this space where you cannot stretch your legs. Your knees are pressed against the hard wood. I've never experienced such poor seating. Imagine sitting for over an hour in pain. I've tried 2 different nail techs and yesterday's service was better than the 1st. It could be the brand they use, but I do not like the quality of the dip powder they use here. Unfortunately my tech missed applying powder on several sides of a few of my nails and I did not realize until I got home. This was a loss for me, and I cannot spend my hard earned money here anymore. I'll return to the Hatches Pond Cary location to find another tech or spend my money elsewhere. The experience here doesn't measure up to their Cary location at all.

I had an amazing experience at Paris nail bar Raleigh! They are very accommodating and my nails look amazing!

First I'd like to thank you for fitting me in last minute and very close to closing time (apt6:30) . I had 4 broken nails ; it was painful. Mindy (hope I spelled her name right) did an amazing job with DIP + design . Thank you so much

'Jenny.' Stained nails in rude, rushed service where previous polish was not removed. Dip, so 4 weeks, over the holidays.

Nice interior. If you love HGTV cooking shows, you'll be well entertained. Advice: Tammy or Leah, and someone else recommended Stephanie. Try to come at a time where they're less busy, if you can. I suspect there is some factor with their online bookings that does not leave enough time e.g. in case someone needs polish removed. No on Jenny unless your idea of a relaxing mani-pedi is the Soup Nazi. She often rushes and is defensive and pushy. Has left me with cuticle scabs from power-sanding, crookedly filed nails, smooshed/uneven lumpy/bubbled polish, sticky lint-filled top coat, different length nails, and stained nails from polish she did not sufficiently remove. For dip mani's, she also does not bother offering a drink amenity or massage. You are not allowed to point out any issues; e.g. once when I mentioned some nails were slanted, she disagreed, annoyingly grabbed my hands backwards scrutinizing them and telling me they were were straight, and that my fingers must be crooked...that all people have crooked fingers. What do we think is more likely - that she made a little mistake easily fixed that her ego won't admit to, or that all her clients are mutants. Michelle was presented as acting manager today, was non-plussed about the issues, chalked everything up to 'a language issue,' and offered no recourse. If you want time to think about colors or have gel/dip polish that needs to be removed, don't schedule the 1st appt of day; the doors aren't open and then everyone needs to see the color packs at the same time and they can be booked back-to-back and in a hurry. If you need acrylic removed, arrive early and ask them to have someone prep you before it's time for your appointment. That way your appointment will feel less rushed and the tech will appreciate it. If you have a popular color, call ahead and make sure they'll have it; although I did this and they'd run out when I arrived.

So COVID really messed with my nail game, but on this particular day I was feeling good so I told the wifey that I'm gonna take her to Paris...and here we were living the good semi-post-Covid life. A Classique Pedicure was on deck with a Stella Artois in the massage chair cup holder. Who said guys can't enjoy a nail salon? Anyhoo, we enjoyed a relaxing hot water foot soak on this Thursday evening. I laid back and watched Food Network (my favorite), and it set me up quite nicely as I then thought why not eat at Spring Rolls next door after this. I digress, so my nails were trimmed, an awesome sugar scrub applied, a nice 5 minute foot massage provided, and glistening nails revealed. It was like I had new feet y'all! Not sure where these feet of mine were during COVID, but WE BACK! The staff was very friendly, I got to enjoy a nice brew as I relaxed, parking was plentiful at about 6pm, and it felt so nice to feel somewhat back to reality (even with my mask on still). Overall, Paris was a fantastic getaway, and while the wife did feel deceived as it wasn't quite the France she initially imagined, she wasn't mad at me for long ;)

I've been going here for a few months now and can finally say Paris Nail Bar is the top notch type of nail salon I've been looking for all this time in Raleigh but could never find! Leah and Jenny are both incredible techs who will listen to you and make sure you leave with full satisfaction every time. I've had beautiful acrylics and dip acrylic nails applied by both of these lovely ladies and have never been disappointed. I will say that this is not the type of place to get you in and out of there quick for a fill, but we want quality over speed when it comes to a mani, don't we ladies? The pricing is on point and to add, they have a huge selection of beverages (alcoholic and not) for your enjoyment during your service. This location is always clean and I have never had trouble booking online or over the phone. Call me impressed!

I have been to Postino many times before, but this was my first time at the Raleigh location. While it's been 4 years since I've had Postino and the menu has changed a little, the bruschetta board is still a permanent fixture. We ordered a bruschetta board for an appetizer and I ordered the half panini & half salad for my entree. The bruschetta board is a must order because you can get 4 different kinds. The top tier choice is the salami pesto one. It's my absolute favorite. For my panini, I got the caprese one on ciabatta bread and the half of the mixed greens salad. The salad was delicious. This was a ton of food and felt very satisfying. I always love the vibe of Postino's, but this location was way too dark with only a small candle at the table. Service started off good and we were able to order our food without a problem. However, our server was done with his shift right after we ordered so we got a new server. Our new server had no idea we already ordered and was a little behind coming to our table for water refills. Despite that, we were in and out of the restaurant within 45 minutes. Postino is surrounded by other shops and restaurants, so they had a ton of parking available outside the restaurant. Highly recommend this place if you want good food!

Not entirely sure since we still have no idea how to access it, but maybe look for that lot if street parking is challenging :) Anyway, RBF is located in the basement of a building, so we had to take an elevator down from the entrance we took. Inside, it's got chill vibes - it definitely feels like a wine bar :) We ended up sitting inside on a high top, but there were various couches and a good amount of outdoor seating available as well. It took a while for our server to come check in with us, but she was super friendly and helpful with the wine selections once she came over. I got a random glass of red wine (they do not serve beer, in case you were wondering!) while my wife tried out a couple of tasters and then picked out a white wine for herself. The wine was pretty tasty and it was definitely a generous portion. After sitting there for a while, we also decided to grab some bread with pesto on the side. It took a sec for it to come out, but it wasn't bad! Nothing extraordinary but I wasn't expecting anything super gourmet, so it was totally fine. Overall, we had a great experience here and I would definitely stop by again on a date night.

Tapas tapas and more tapas! One better than the other. We did run into a huge problem though,…read moreexplained in more detail below. Wife and I started our quick little anniversary getaway here, and they nailed it. The place itself is gorgeous. Huge patio with greenery, baller bar area in the middle of the upscale open space, which gives a modern and chic vibe. That problem I mentioned? Deciding what we were going to order off of the amazingly stacked tapas menu. One sounded better than the other, plates coming out to the left and right of us...we were deer in headlights not knowing what to do, words didn't come out when our friendly and knowledgeable server came by. As far as problems go at a restaurant, I guess it could have been worse. With helpful guidance and knowing our love for anything foodie related, we just started picking one by one after a few sips of our well balanced cocktails (another large menu with anything and everything for fellow cocktail lovers out there). Had to go with a meat and charcuterie board first. A decadent manchego, a creamy French that was smooth and tangy, plus a 20 month cured ham that was salty and smoky. Honestly everything that came out after was a 10/10. From the wild mushrooms, Wagyu carpaccio and bone marrow, to the pork belly, corn bunuelos and steak paillard...everything was cooked to perfection with amazing spices and sauces that complemented each dish perfectly. (See pics and captions for more details) These chefs and mixologists know what they're doing here. 2 managers came by our table to make sure everything was going well. Top notch service, top shelf food and drink, modern and upscale decor and vibe. A perfect concoction for a special night out with family or friends.

I ordered the cast iron seared wagyu picanha steak, medium rare. When it arrived it was definitely rare, not medium rare, but more importantly it was cold. My sense is that this was due to it being frozen beforehand, but I guess it could have just been sitting around for a long time. The asparagus on the side was also unseasoned and undercooked. The chimichurri sauce was decent, but that's the most positive thing I can say about the meal. My wife got the crispy chicken club and it was OK but nothing extraordinary. I did enjoy eating her fries, though :) The service was good and the vibes were chill, but the food was just not up to par. We both ordered a flight of wine and enjoyed the different wines reasonably well. The menu looked amazing and we were super excited. We were sat at the first table right in front of the door and because it is winter time, it was a little bit unfortunate because every time the door opened it was quite cold. The restaurant itself is incredibly cute and intimate, but these first few tables right in front of the door make for a little bit more of a challenging experience in the winter. I think there might've been some sort of miscommunication with the waitstaff, because nobody came to our table and after about 10 minutes, and after seeing a couple who sat after us get there soup before we had had anyone greet us, we flagged down someone who then became our server. The service was great once we got that figured out! We both agreed the lobster bisque and desserts (creme brûlée and chocolate mouse cake) were the start of the show. For the appetizer, I got the whipped burrata and my spouse got the crab cakes. Two of the three crab cakes were unfortunately a bit over charred, which didn't make for the most pleasant experience. The one that was not over charred was very good! My burrata dip/spread was great! My spouse got the sea bass and I got the filet. Both were okay! I had a glass of red wine that was good and I'd be interested in returning for the flights! They gave us roses before leaving which was a really cute and thoughtful touch for Valentine's Day. Overall, a decent experience and I'd be interested in trying again!
