I've been looking for a Princess Peach costume literally at every halloween store in the Valley and I came here on a whim and lo and behold, they had it! This store is kind of small, but it's packed with a ton of costumes and props so you'll come out with something you like. Big mistake... big big big mistake. In a nut shell trying to communicate or expect appropriate communication between 2 adults is not possible at this place. selection?? sure they have that... but so does on line shopping which is what I will be doing from this point on.... and shopping online also means we wont be exposed to a smelly, ill-ventilated atmosphere that makes you want to puke the moment you step in the place. Thanks to the non-helpful, rude and inappropriate "clerks" that run this place on a daily basis, my decision to never shop here again was made easy. My husband and I are heavily involved with animal rescue and had a charity event to go to. Our dogs, which we so lovingly refer to as our children, were to be in costume for this black tie event. We made the BIG mistake of trying to find something at this store. Not only were we not helped, but basically insulted because we refer to our dogs as our children. I don't think using the term flea-bag is appropriate anytime or anywhere... and especially when a sale depends on it. We do a lot of charity events throughout the year and most of them involve dressing up, costumes for two and four legged beings. We also purchase a lot of merchandise to donate to the events as well or auction off..... well we WONT be purchasing anything from this god awful place EVER. Whomever owns this store should really look into replacing some of your workers... they are nothing but rude, unhelpful and downright nasty to your customers. read more

Don't go here! Their prices are very high, bad selection, and I forgot to pull out my coupon until after the transaction and they said no. Come on, it was only for $10 and we spent over $100!? They just said no and smiled. Horrible! So not worth it. If you have the time, go somewhere else or buy online from other places. You'll get better stuff at a better price! I always come here wanting to give them another chance and really wanted to like them... Sadly, I never do. The sad truth is that most of the staff clearly do not like their jobs. Their attitudes stink and they seem to resent it when customers come into the store. True, there's a halfway decent selection of costumes, makeup, wigs, masks, etc., here but other stores have stuff too. I'd rather go somewhere else -- and even pay a little more for it -- rather than be treated as rudely as I am here. read more

Horrible parking, each space way too small. All items overpriced Party City is cheaper and has the same stuff. They have a no return policy. No returns ever for any reason. You can only do an exchange. Even if u return it within 5 minutes forget about it. Consider anything else rather than this place. read more

How could no one review this place. Before I get into this review, let me just share with you that I hate Ahhs. It's crowded, people are changing in the aisle, and costumes are sparse after halloween. This place is year round (supplying costumes for porn is a business that doesn't take a vacation). They call themselves the Halloween adventure warehouse, but also think of them as your easter costume destination, your mothers day costume destination, and your absinthe party destination. Selection is amazing. I was looking for something red and some hats and was blow away by the selection. Really, they had slutty, conservative, cover-everything outfits, and every-day costumes. I love this store. I buy costumes and props for my business on regular basis and since i found this store, i have a one stop shop where I can find everything I need. Their selection is huge and they have things that you cannot find in any other Halloween store. The prices are great and people who work there are very friendly and helping. This is a costume store. Duh. But I have to give them a shout out because I came here the night before I left the country and I needed a petticoat stat! I called and the woman that took my call was so nice and confirmed that she did have what I was looking for. When I arrived she helped me and when I realized that what she had was too short, she went and dug up a longer one from an opened costume and gave it to me for 50% off. Awesome, huh? She even worked it out so that it would total the amount of cash that I had in my hand! I love good customer service, and that is exactly what I got here! read more

Went here yesterday to get an outfit for a last minute Roaring 20s themed party. I told the lady upfront i was on a serious budget! The lady working was so helpful. She provided suggestions and offered budget friendly ideas/accessories. She offered to custom make me head piece...and it turned out beautiful! My experience couldn't have been any better!!! My girlfriend and our friend visited Phantom Halloween over the weekend. We were helped by two young ladies that were both absolutely awesome! The store has great props and decorations for your Halloween house parties and a great selection of costumes. I highly recommend getting there in the next week or so for Halloween 2015 - supplies will run out quickly. Especially if you are looking for really cool contacts to go with your costume. I always come here for my costume/accessory needs. They have a fairly large selection, but their prices are on the high side; which is disappointing, because sometimes I simply am not willing to pay for the costume I want. $40 for a VERY cheap looking top hat?? The employees are nice and helpful. The store itself is fine. My complaint is about some of the merchandise. I bought 2 masks for $9.99 each, they both cracked after putting them on. They are definitely not worth the money, they should only be sold for 99-cents max. One of the masks has a sticker inside that says "as is, no exchange" - I guess the makers know the mask is no good. So my disappointment in this store is the fact that they SELL this bad merchandise. If they want consistent good rating, they should be more selective of the items they choose to carry. read more

My experience here was as follows on Friday March 30th 2018 in the time window of approximately 11:30am. After I parked my car in front of this place and walked up to the door. I get to the door and one of the employees a short woman moves in front of me blocking the doorway and asks me "Can I help you, Can I help you"? So I'm confused, because the manner she did it in was very aggressive and rude, and I was still standing on the outside. I wasn't sure if maybe they weren't open yet or if construction was going on inside, I didn't see a sign or anything indicating this, and the place is kind of a small warehouse room. From what I could see through the door behind her there was a family inside shopping and a few other young women shopping. So I responded to her asking "I'm sorry, are you guys open right now" ? She says "Yeah we are" So as I try to walk in she blocks me again and asks "Well are you looking for something in particular"? I said "Yes I'm here to look at some costumes" she says "Oh well ok" She barely moves so I had to really kind of slide past her because the area you walk inside at the front door is very slim. She stares at me as I walk in. I regret to say that I have shopped here so many times in the past and spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars here over many years. I am a filmmaker & a photographer, and I have come here many times to buy costumes, props, and masks, fake blood for my films and for models to use in photoshoots. I used to rely on this place because it was the only store I could find near me that sold costumes all year round, not just during halloween time. Initially I came here on this day to buy a costume and some face paint and props for a model to use in a photoshoot. The customer service here was unacceptable and I will no longer be shopping here, this review will also be forwarded to the Bureau as well. read more

The help in the store was extremely unprofessional. I went in to purchase a costume for my 8 year old daughter. We were trying on costumes and folding the items and putting them back into the appropriate bags and a manager there came up snatch items out of my hands and told me I will do that myself. I was trying to explain that I was just trying to help keep the costumes nice and organized. She went to the front folded the costume and came back and put it in my face and said SEE THIS IS HOW YOU FOLD A COSTUME. Extremely rude, we found a costume for my daughter to wear and went to the front to pay for the item. I was polite to the extremely rude store manager saying please and thank you although she said none of that to me and even made my 8 year old say please and thank you as well. She completely ignored us and we were there with friends who paid after us. She then told my friend you get 10% off your costume and I said oh was there something wrong with her costume and she said No you are extremely rude and she was not so I gave her 10% off. I then asked for the store owners name and the manager claimed to be the owner. I left in tears because the manager was condescending. My friend and I stood outside talking and eventually a lady from the office came down and the manager ran out of the store and threaten to call police on me and my friend because we were talking in the parking lot. The lady that came down(not sure maybe owner) apologized for the actions of the store manager but it ruined my experience as well as my daughter who is only 8 years old. The worst was when we got home the was a huge stain on the costume but the store did exchange it for us. It was extremely overpriced but if the customer service was good it would have been worth it. read more

My mom and I arrived 5 minutes before 5pm on Saturday. The lady who was in the store yelled at us to go away. The open sign was still lit up in the window & the sign on the door said the store was open till 7pm on week days and Saturdays. Not sure what that was about but it's obvious false advertising if they close the store down before 5pm. So far not a fan. read more

Bad,bad,bad,bad,bad customer service. Employees didn't say hello when I walked in. I walked all the way up to the counter, waiting for a response...nothing. Had to say excuse me about 5 times before I could get someone's attention. Employees didn't answer my questions, weren't helpful and gave me dirty looks the whole time. When I looked at the costumes, most of them were already opened and taped up, being claimed as new, yet items were missing from the costumes. There were little notes on them saying such and such is missing out of the bag. Avoid this place, please. read more

Today was a kick. My friend, Roger, just arrived from Switzerland for a visit. In addition to Hollywood (yuk), Roger wanted to see a "fantasy" store. Roger writes fables/tales, etc., for adults. Very bizarre but very good. Props, costumes, etc., is the kind of stuff he says feeds his creative juices. L.A. has everything, why not a fantasy store.? I figured if I took Roger to Halloween AdventureI in Canoga Park we could find merchandise to feed his creative juices. Boy, that was a good decision. I knew of this store from last year. Ever the procrastinator, last year I waited until the day before Halloween to buy a costume. Major stupid. The lines were out the door. Apparently, Oct 30 is the busiest costume buying day - duh. Even though there were lines, the company reps were talking to the people who patiently waited in line. In addition to being so friendly and respectful, they offered candy bars to those waiting. You could chose from a big bowl of halfloween candies. Most everyone ate more than one. The line experience put everyone in the halloween mood. When I was there, 2 women were tending to the crowd and made the whole experience so much fun. When we got into the store, Roger's eyes became the size of saucers with all the merchandise they carry. The costumes were so different than even the year before. The staff was so helpful in directing me and Roger. I found 2 costumes - doing 2 different parties. Roger bought a ton of stuff to take home to Switzerland. He loved theplace. I'm so happy with my costumes. My advice, don't wait to the last minute but definitely go to Halloween Adventure. Great selection, very sweet and helpful staff. We shopped whenit was 100+ degrees and the air conditioning inside was a joy. I asked for ideas for my costume selection and they were amazing in offering me so many different options. Love them, love them, love them. If you procrastinate like me, go to Halloween Adventure for sure. Their selection even on the 30th was remarkable. P.S. Roger loved Hollywood - bizarre and very good. read more
