First time coming to Dollar King and I loved it! The store is very organized and clean. I wasn't intending to buy anything. I was more so looking to kill time before work. They have everything. They have seasonal decorations. They have tons of international foods. Teas, seasonings, coffee, snacks, etc. They also have art and craft supplies, dishes, make up, You name it! I ended up buying a few things. Check out was very pleasant. The cashier was super nice. When I told her it was my first time here, she welcomed me and invited me to come back. My first time to check out this place as I always go to Dollar Tree. Surprisingly, this place is huge, it is very organize, neat and clean and has a lot of varieties to offer. DOLLAR KING WINNETKA: It's impressively large and is well stocked with neat shelves and clear aisles. Prices are good. What I immediately didn't like are the high (far above head level) shelves. You can't see the next aisle. And no one can see you unless they're in your aisle. Maybe that's why there are reviews mentioning negative interactions with over-vigilant staff. I got an extended suspicious stare too. Lower height shelves like at Dollar Tree would make for a better shopping experience for customers & staff alike. The other annoyance is the long, winding checkout, again with high shelves. Waiting customers can't see around the bends and can't see how many other customers are ahead. And you can't see how many cashiers are open (usually only 1), until the very end. There's a pervasive vibe of uncomfortable distrust. So, I'll stick with Daiso and Dollar Tree for my discount shopping. read more

It is located in a small plaza along Sherman Way beside DDs Discount. Plenty of parking that is shared with other businesses. The store is quite large, well labeled, clutter free, and the aisles are wide enough for 2 carts to fit. They have a lot of products to offer. From party supplies to arts and crafts and fun toys. Although I saw an aisle that is closed. They have seasonal items on display as well like Halloween costumes and Fall decors. They sell a lot of stuff that you don't normally see in Dollar Tree or .99 cents. I wish I could speak with someone above the normal managers and supervisors because I was in this store and the actual manager at the register was cursing and talking really foul in front of my children and other children in line she is short with tattoos on her arms and has no type of respect for customers I don't know how the upper management has not noticed or done anything about this I think the store is great but the register people have no morals how sad read more

The first couple times I've come to this store I've had to deal with the rudest cashiers ever. Literally girls who had huge attitude problems. So I just stopped going there for months, one day I go in with my son and the cashiers are actually much better. For whatever reason, a clerk told the cashier that I opened a bottle of hand sanitizer and sprayed it on my hands. I said I never did that and asked the cashier to sniff my hands. I am 79 years old and the cashier treated me like a naughty young kid. I subsequently left my cart with its contents and said that I do not like being accused for something I did not do, and that I won't go there to shop anymore. The clerk who lied about me opening a hand sanitizer bottle needs a psychiatric evaluation I think. Perhaps they do not like old Asian buyers like me going to a Dollar King store. read more

10/10!! I came here an hour ago! This place is like a dollar tree but better because they have a variety of more things, totally recommend! Also the customer service was really good the girl in cashier was very sweet and kind, she was wearing all black and if I recall correctly I think she was wearing a black essential hoodie,long dark hair, nice lashes, she had a great attitude and she complimented my hair which I really appreciated; next time when I come and she's here i'll definitely leave a tip! I use to love going to the 0.99 cent store but honestly it's not 0.99 cent anymore . Everything is from 1.50-19.99 I don't know why they still have that name . But anyway I found this store and I'm so happy they have everything!!!! Really everything. And it's all 1.51$ The only thing that is expensive is there balloons and helium. But still cheaper then partycity . There is only one downside with this store it's not in the best area ... But it's still worth it I just try to go during the day and not when it's dark. If you're looking for some good variety of items, this is your go to dollar spot. All items are $1.51 unless priced differently. The store was extremely clean which was wonderful to see. They have a great makeup section and nice little gifts. I went to buy about $15 worth of self care items to make a gift for for my friend. I picked up some cute water shoes for my toddler as well and they were pretty good quality. I loved their arts and craft section and their kitchen aisle as well. So many options to choose from. I could easily spend over an hour in there looking at all the options. The staff was very friendly and asked if I needed help finding anything which you don't hear often in a dollar store type setting. They have a huge parking lot which is always a plus. read more

Well I was going to compliment the store for having a lot of products and being the best go to store ever but my experience there today made me change my mind about it being my go to store. My first visit and I'm leaving with handful of items and a cute princess dress, I happened to drop a traveling size nestcafe in the line to pay, I tell the cashier because it was glass, she starts saying I need to pay for it because I broke it, I'm letting her know it was an accident it's hard to believe that that's the policy. She says yes it is and that if I went to a museum and broke something I would need to pay for it. I asked her to call the manager he came and was trying to say that it's on the wall, what I read from the wall was that if items are damaged they cannot be refunded or returned. I told them very nicely look I just want to make my purchase without getting charged if you want to charge me for it then your going to loose the entire sale. Her attitude and lack of compassion was what needs to be worked on, maybe then the outcome would have been different. read more

It is without any exaggeration " THE MACYS DOLLAR TREE ". The story that is located at 20141 Sherman Way, Winnetka, CA 91306 is the best dollar king in the whole valley. It has an amazing and massive inventory. It is super clean and very organized "see pictures ". The staff is everywhere to help and organize things. Also, the staff is sooo helpful and friendly. With such cheep price $1.51 you find really very nice and neat things . You can't find them in another store. Totally recommend it100%. It's super amazing store . This place just opened up. It had a lot of the same items you'd see at the 99 Cents store or dollar tree as well other items you wouldn't find at those other stores. I was under the impression (due to the name) that everything was $1. I don't think I saw anything prices less than $1.51. The prices vary and I don't think I saw anything over $10. This is not to say there aren't items priced higher. I would say that this place has a nicer selection of decorative and craft items that you don't find at similar discount stores and wouldn't want to spend more on at other places so I was happy to find some of the items I ended up purchasing. I think places like Dollar Tree and 99 Cents store (for the time being) have more of the items I need (candy, paper goods, cleaning supplies) at lower prices. But by no means would I write this place off. I'm sure it's a work in progress and they did have tons of things I could use so I do recommend looking at this place and will be back. The store is pretty big, but it doesn't have the same "prices" as other Dollar Kings. Like the "Essie" nail polishes- they're usually $1, but at this dollar king they're the same price as Target. Same applies to the Orly nail polishes. The difference is that these are old nail polishes. Why charge the same? Other items have a higher pricing than at other Dollar Kings. read more

Awkward and uncomfortable visit when I went here. Walked in and staff just looked at me. Um ok? Was walking fast because I knew what I was looking for but couldn't find it. So far this has been one of the cleanest dollar stores I have been too. They are always stocked up, have great items! The only bad thing is that they close at 9pm but at 8:45 they lock the doors and won't let you know, they close at 9PM and not 8:45PM which means they should lock the doors at NINE!!! read more
